We haven’t been here for quite awhile, as it was poor, but with new owners and staff it has been transformed. We had a Sunday family lunch here and it was EXCELLENT! We will be back!

Here for a family event! Lovely catering service, very pleased, lots of food and tea/coffee. Would definitely come here again!

Having read great reviews we decided to push ourselves out of our comfort zone and have a drive over to this lovely little place - and I’m so glad we did! We sat on the terrace in the sunshine and had a really tasty lunch. We ordered calamari and nachos for starters and liver & bacon and fish & chips for mains. Our food arrived in really good time and looked and tasted delicious. Great choice! The portion sizes are very generous - so, unfortunately, there was absolutely zero room for pudding! All washed down with a pint of real ale, a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. This place is a great find and definitely worth the extra drive time - we’re surrounded by lovely restaurants where we live but we will definitely return to Heavens Kitchen 😊👍

Upon arrival, we waited a long time to be served, at least with a drink. Eventually our drinks and meal order were taken together. A mix up ensued over the drinks served, which had to be corrected. Never eaten here before, but my impression was it was overpriced for what you got. I paid £36 for an 8oz Black Angus fillet steak which I asked to be cooked rare. Although it was not served rare, I ate it anyway as did not want to cause a fuss. Not even provided with a steak knife! However the presentation was disappointing with as few as 3 small lettuce leaves and just 2 oven roasted vine tomatoes, 2 onion rings and fries. The garlic mushrooms I ordered to go with it were charged at £7.99! How much do mushrooms cost to buy these days?! I had to wait for these also as they had been overlooked. My friend ordered a sirloin steak, cooked blue. It was far from blue! Again, he ate it to avoid a fuss. 2 of us ordered desserts, disappointingly bog standard bought in dessert, brought to the table without spoons to eat them with! The bill had a discretionary 12.5% service charge added. Unfortunately, the payment was taken by card so quickly, I did not have time to voice I did not want to pay the service charge, and the transaction went through so quickly at the full price. Personally, I would not rush back. I have paid less for steaks cooked to perfection and served with more accompaniments included within the price of the meal!

Booked for a Sunday lunch visit, so 8 of us in total. Because of some of us not wanting to sit in the sun, we moved inside. All had a roast. Chicken was dry inside and the Beef was also over done and dry. Roast potatoes weren't cooked enough, so still quite hard. Barely any veg, just 2 carrots and 2 parsnip; again not even al dente! Gravy was almost non existent, so had to ask for a lot more. A real shame and missed opportunity as we've been before and its been excellent. Our other family members weren't impressed either. Time to visit other establishments I think.

Great location. Came on a Thursday night. Meal for 1 adult and 2 kids £113. Very quiet. Starter of Calamari, really good but not enough if it for £8.95. Came with sweet chilli sauce as opposed to aloli. My daughter had Yorkers with steak as a main from the starter menu. Loved it, albeit it used to be three Yorkies and now only two. I had the Wagyu burger with cheese, £21. Clearly Costco patties that you can buy for £3-4 each, while tasty not value. We had an extra portion of fries that cost £4.95, seems a bit steep for a small portion of oven fries. Literally buy a bag in the supermarket for £2. Orderd a bottle of red that was too warm,(I had to get some ice) that you can buy from the wine society for £7.95. Cost to me £30. Cheapest wine on the list £29, poor for a pub. So overall food a 3 value for money 2, service a 5, location 5, overall 3. Such a shame. If they had a better value wine list where they did not charge 3x+ plus retail price and the food was a £2-3 cheaper they would be packed. Great beer and ale selection, could be the best local but just missing the spot.

How come I missed this place as my usual pub. I was this Sunday roast with family and for sure we will come back. Good portions,nice atmosphere with a good service.

First time here, good selection of wine and beer. We had steaks, nice flavour and perfect cooked. For sure we will returna.

We were very excited to go as it was a family celebration. It was not busy only two other tables were present in the restaurant. Sadly, very slow service, food was either sent out wrong or not hot, we waited for over an hour to eat also. We were given the dessert menus which we wanted to order and no one came back to take the order, so after 20mins of waiting g again we decided to sadly call it a night. Such a shame.

The manager & staff went way and above with their service. Clean. Food. Drinks. Immense garden. Play ground for kids. Everything was excellent

Had a roast dinner. The beef was extremely fatty but everything else was lovely. Enjoyed the puddings. Unfortunately, far too many children that were very loud as we found it hard to hear each other. Nothing stood out but nothing terrible either. We’ll come again for a steak on a week night and see

Have been many times over last year with groupon vouchers so makes it a very reasonable venue for us to visit .. always been happy with venue , food and friendly staff ( they can’t do enough for you ) very inviting ambience , but today arrived for two course Sunday roast at 12.30 first people there , served quickly , but main course arrived looked lovely , but plates not warmed and veg was lukewarm warm also all of food could have been hotter , by this time the restaurant had filled up so didn’t want to make a fuss , so just said as waiter passing and asked us if everything okay , I said yes but could have been a lot hotter .. he said would pass on my comments to chef , he came back later with our sweets and said chef acknowledged my comment , we then had cheese cake and ice cream which was nicely presented .. we will return but sadly not for a roast

Attended this restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening for my sons birthday, items on the menu were not available and we were not informed until we tried to order, then ordered the garlic bread that was flavourless and not cooked properly, so we sent it back, no apologises were offered to us. My partner and I had the steak and after returning home both of us were taken ill with stomach cramps and severe diarrhea which lasted for over 36 hours, and when we received the bill they even asked us to pay a service charge. There is an investigation for suspected food poisoning just started and also environmental health are investigating. Spoke with Daniel the manager who informed me the establishment has alot of problems that he is trying to sort out and this will take time, not really helpful to us, and to top it all he tried to resolve the issue by offering a free lunch. Definitely Not !!!!

Whether you’re dining indoors or out on the patio, the ambiance of this restaurant is always delightful. The service adds value to the overall dining experience. Our waiter Daniel gave us a good recommendation about steaks and wine. This place is a true hidden gem.

Very disappointing, poor service and food very average. I ordered the avocado and prawn cocktail, the avocado was rock hard and inedible. I told him the waiter who said that it was because the avocado was fresh. This did not make sense at all. No apology. My steak tasted good but there was a lot iof gristle. They only had big fat stodgy chips, no fries. We ordered a bottle of muscadet which was warm. The waiter put it in the freezer so we had no wine with our starter and when we did finally get it it still wasn't properly chilled. What an expensive fiasco. Come on guys, you can do better than this!

Absolute brilliant restaurant. We first visited for Sunday lunch which was first class and returned Tuesday night for Steak night (2-4-1 deal) and on both occasions the 2 grandchildren eat for free!!

Finally, our local pub has a great restaurant attached! Great food, great service! The steaks in particular were excellent. We’ll be regulars going forward.

Very busy Mother’s day lunch. Generally good menu but mainly beef orientated. Not great for vegetarians but there is an option. Service was a bit iffy, which they would probably say was because they were busy, but that shouldn’t be an excuse if managed properly. This was our first visit so would give another go as fairly local to family and has a good-looking play area in better weather.

Came for the opening night of Heavens Kitchen. Had a lovely Sunday roast,looked after by the staff. Have been back since and was just as good.

A super Inn, clean, bright and full of character. The food was delicious and the welcome and hospitality first class. Special mention of Jodie who was a superb hostess, nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.

Booked table for Sunday lunch with great hopes. Sadly left disappointed. Everything OK but nothing good. Not even the amount of veg. Four roast potatoes and £5 to get one extra portion kind of sums it up. Will not even mention the Yorkshire pud. Server was very nice and friendly though. So wanted this place to be as good as Heavens Kitchen Farnham but sadly not. Plenty of other places to try I guess and will consider again whether to return and try the steaks or not.

Booked a stay here for business messaged the property to say I will arrive between 9 and 10 pm arrived 9.30 to see everything closed in darkness. Proceeded to phone and message on booking.com but no answer. Having spent a hour sitting and strolling around the car park I eventually sought other accommodation. Having paid up front I contacted booking.com and they could not get a response either! The following morning I received a e mail at 10.30 saying how they could have accommodated me. A absolute joke if you close your business because you can’t be bothered to welcome your guests or you are tired you are blatantly in the wrong buisiness squirrel inn is aptly named for this time of your year. Shame on you a disgrace!

Seems like they're having teething problems, I might try again a few months later when they sort themselves out. On arrival we were told "the kitchen is broken" so nothing on the menu was available except Sunday roast. OK, it happens, so we went with the roast. Very, very, small portions for the considerably inflated price. Better roasts available at other pubs for much cheaper. Lamb was OK, but beef very chewy (maybe because only microwave was working?). Service very slow, 15 minutes break between delivering menu and taking order (also dessert). Disappointing, especially because the price was very high compared to the quality of food and service. However, there seems to be potential to be better in time.

Had a fabulous dinner at The Squirrel (Heavens kitchen) our barman Dorian was awesome. In fact all the staff there are friendly and helpful. The Guinness was particular nice.

Looked such a lovely place to stop off for lunch but sadly the food was worse than diabolical. Had we chosen a high street burger place the food would have been far superior. Calamari smelt fishy, not fresh. Diabolical quality frozen grizzly burger shocking, beetroot slaw tasted of chemical. Shocking meal which was left. To top it all the tea towel was used to wipe the computer screen and keypad once that was cleaned the same tea cloth was used to wipe the drinking glasses. Hygiene in public places for intake of food should be exemplarary. When asked by the lovely waitress if everything was ok, we didn't want to embarrass our daughter so paid the bill and left. Sadly, we will never return now reccomend to family or friends. Very disappointed to what should have been a pleasant lunch out.

I was on a business trip and had to stay somewhere local to Godalming - I booked in at the Squirrel Inn and thought I was lost until I found it! I checked into a very small, but extremely cosy room - I loved it. I thought I’d grab a bite to eat and a drink in the pub… it was fantastic! It was very quiet but the staff were so attentive, I stayed talking with the manager Natalie and her colleague Denisa and had a few more drinks, probably not a good idea the night before a big meeting!! I felt so welcome and had a great laugh before going to sleep in my cosy room and comfy bed. I’m not local, but if it was I’d return here for a drink with a friendly smile!

Wanted to try as now run by same people as Heavens Kitchen in Farnham. Heavens Kitchen separately has been a great experience each time been. The Squirrel sadly was not. We ended up going for the 2 course for £15 menu. Which understand is not much. Was the best option available though. Starters were fine. Prawn cocktail and calamari. Main courses of fish and chips which was Harvester quality at best. Chilli nachos though was 1 out of 5 stars being generous. Really sad but first time and last time visit. Just one customer suggestion but invest and create a Heavens Kitchen out of Squirrel and we will absolutely visit again and again.

We purchased a Groupon voucher for three course lunch 50% off menu price .. arrived had lovely welcome from staff , lovely setting wood fire and Christmas decs ,menu only few choices , but we enjoyed all courses we chose , presentation and service also very good .. and portion size right ..

I’ve been going to the squirrel Inn for the last couple years and I must say over the last couple months its progress has been AMAZING. I never write reviews but this place seriously deserves the credit! The new staff over the past couple months are incredible and lots of the younger team are so approachable and chatty which is a great touch and not something easy to find nowadays and additionally one of the main guys in the black shirts who works at the bar is a great laugh and very efficient so I am never waiting long for a pint! The food is brilliant (kudos to the chefs) and I often enjoy a Sunday lunch at the pub, they have lots of different roasts and other food options too if roasts aren’t for you. Often Visited with friends who have kids who were totally satisfied by the kids menu which was very reasonably priced and had a great selection - especially if you have picky eaters! They have a play area out the back too which was a big hit for the kids. Absolutely recommend the Squirrel for a Sunday lunch or a drink at the bar they’ve surpassed all my expectations!

Scrolling through groupon today, I saw a deal at this pub for a 3 course set menu at £30 for 2 people. Having not been yet, hubbie and I decided to try it out with the pooch in tow. I booked online prior to arrival and arrived in good time, as it's just off the A3. Initial impressions were very good. Lovely looking gastropub, in the countryside and plenty of parking. A warm welcome was waiting for us inside and we were quickly shown to our corner table and a bowl of water was provided straight away for the dog. Nice touch. The set menu is normally £33 each so it's a bargain to try out first on a place you havn't been to. I chose calamari with a nice sweet chilli dip, he had mushroom soup with warm bread, followed by Chicken Schnitzel fries & salad, whilst I went for the Steak Burger. Both the starters and mains were delicious! My steak burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and the chicken was (he said) well seasoned and a nice light batter. Dessert was treacle pudding with custard (or ice cream) and I had the New York cheesecake with cream. Again, dessert was absolutely scrumptious. Overall, I was very impressed with the near decor, welcoming staff, large outside decking area for the summer and a children's play area away from the main building so would not disturb other diners. This deal is on until the end of February so if you are thinking of trying a new pub, in an area you've never been to with great service and lovely food, this is it! (Oh, and 5 mins away is a lovely Farm Shop called Secretts - also worth a visit en route back! :)

An impromptu stop for lunch. Friendly staff, excellent menu and a great range of Ales. The lunch menu was sensibly priced and comprehensive, offering individually prepared home made meals, rather than the all too familiar cheap and cheerful hangovers from Covid. Thought we were running out of somewhere to eat when we were approaching the A3M and then came across The Squirrel. Very friendly staff, good food and nice environment. Really pleased to find a pub that has an outside Non-smoking area as usually have to sit indoors whist the smokers enjoy the outdoor sunshine. Will definitely go back.
