ive just had breakfast with my daughter as usual excellent food piping out from start till finish .I eat here quite often and cannot recommend bobbys enough .My daughter and boyfriend are now converts and im sure they will visit regular for breakfast Thanks again Bob and Jo for excellent food and service

nice little place looked clean, had the omlette which came with chips, not sure what oil they use to cook with, but tasted a little strange, i had eaten quite a bit of omlette then noticed a hair on the plate, i covered the plate quickly with my napkin and couldn't say anything about it whilst there or i would have been sick, i know these things happen sometimes but i do get quite sick about things like that, my daughter enjoyed hers

Just had a lovely dinner cheese and onion pie was excellent as were all the veg and chips .When i eat at bobbys the food is always excellent and the two ladies are fantastic nothing is too much trouble .This is a lovely place for good decent hot food .See you again

Amazing little place, breakfast is always lovely cooked, tasty and roasting hot. You get loads of food for your money and I always walk out full. Staff are so friendly and gonout of thier way to accommodate you of your a little fussy and want a burnt sausage or lightly toasted bread. The only place I really like to go in Littleborough these days for a breakfast, so I will be back..

Top notch breakfast. Ordered a small and when it came it was quite big. I didn't think I would make a dent in it but the ingredients were great quality I couldn't stop eating. I also took away a peanut butter brownie and omg I'm eating it now and it is amazing, so yummy 😋

I didn't enjoy my past two visits, one was for breakfast the latest for lunch. The breakfast was poor quality, I thought the sausages and bacon were from the local butchers and eggs sourced locally but I saw in the kitchen when I paid, packaging for Lidl items which may explain it. The lunch I had was a mince and onion pie, the mince was black and rock hard like it had been stored in a fridge and reheated, and there was far too much mince very stodgy tasteless with hardly any pastry and no gravy to make it easier to eat and there was cheap beans covering most of the plate and spilling over the edge. it was such a disaster and I felt really ill after, not from poisoning but the taste of it, the chips have far too much pepper on too which they never used to have this much, It's a shame because the staff are lovely and location perfect when I visit the local area. And it used to be my favourite cafe.

Sitting out back in the fresh air for breakfast brilliant, very comfortable with cushions and blankets if needed,staff are brilliant , food was cooked spot on and piping hot on hot plates , well worth the wait will call again ..... next week

just had breakfast with my friend excellent we always get double fried bread and it is always hot and good quality .Also the 2 ladies who serve you are both fantastic and nothing is to much trouble will be back as usual in the new year From the 2 lads with german shepherds

Called in today, my partner had the turkey dinner and myself the homemade mince beef pie with chips , great quality and delicious food, would recommend you go and try you will not be disappointed! Such a great team of staff!

Outside dining around the rear in the hidden garden, enough to seat 40. Cant beat a delicious meal on a hot plate.... hot food stays hot till you've finished 100% 😋 Indoor dining up and downstairs to seat up to 32, nice clean, modern, friendly polite staff and SUPERB food always. Will recommend Bobby's @The Square as 5* and great value for money. Cakes are all homemade and of superb quality. All day breakfasts, fully alcohol licensed too.

We have been visiting the venue for a number of years our family has Saturday day lunch in the sun or a get out of the rain breakfast in winter it’s truthfully a place without fault. The staff treat there customers like royalty and know how people like there food cooked even with two demanding children they manage to make everything look simple. There always busy so sometimes there is a wait but it’s definitely worth it. The owner often 20 orders high manages to still wish people all the best That all put to one side the food is still the star of the show , it’s breakfast , it’s lunch , it’s basic and it’s brilliant Breakfast is served perfectly , bacon and sausage high quality and eggs cooked how you like them , beans tomatoes and other cheeky extras you can think of all served in the worlds hottest plates. The lunch menu if you don’t fancy breakfast is sandwiches, jacket potatoes, fish and chips , pies which are all simple but done so well it feels like a huge treat. I actually feel like the word sandwich does not do there beef option justice. Deserts are the famous Cheesecake if you can fit it in , They have cakes , ice cream and other sweet treats as well. My kids are fussy but love this place as the staff make them feel so important, there food has no seasoning and has to not be touching it’s all-ways great they really do enjoy family time at this venue. keep on being amazing guys

This cafe is a little gem in the heart of Littleborough. It serves up the best breakfasts around. It’s recently had a makeover and offers inside or outside dining - which was perfect in the summer! Very clean, food is cooked fresh, good value for money and the service and staff is great. You can’t fault it.

A fanatic up and coming Cafe to eat, drinking and socialising. Highly recommend. The staff are very welcoming. Such a nice chilled out atmosphere to have a drink in, perfect after a day of shopping.

Really nice little place in the centre, lovely staff and food was great with good portions. I just think there could be a bit more choice for veggies like veggie breakfast or a section on the menu like they have for meat/ fish/ chicken.

Absolutely terrific cafe, this one. My friend and I go walking most Sunday mornings and to reward our efforts, always seek out a good breakfast venue. Thanks to Trip Advisor reviews already there, a couple of weeks ago, we sought this place out. We were so enthused by it that when we were at Watergrove today, which is only up the road, we dropped down in to Littleborough and repeated the experience. The staff are always friendly and they are flexible when it comes to the menu - a positive when compared to some places. The breakfasts we have had have been cooked fresh and there's plenty on the plate. The set menu breakfasts all come with a drink included too, which adds further value. Well done to all who have built this business in to one where people don't hesitate to return. When within striking distance going forward, we will do so again. Thank you.

Lovely little cafe, Bobby the owner is a fantastic chef- he makes the best cheese and onion pie!!! Definitely recommend- very reasonable prices and excellent choice of home cooked foods on every visit! Always busy so that says it all!

Walked in on Sunday morning and with no greeting or hello whatsoever one of the waitress’s shouted over ‘we’re full’. I said ‘that’s ok how long is the wait’ and she said ‘I don’t know, we have loads of orders on so it will be ages’. I’ve worked in hospitality all of my life and that is definitely not how you treat customers. They made it clear they didn’t want to serve another table and were quite frankly very rude. Very disappointed.

We visit the square often and always have great service . Food is cooked fresh and is always hot . Great little cafe which is having a lovely makeover at the moment . A brilliant price as well . Thanks for making our visits so enjoyable every time

Visited here for breakfast on recommendation from work colleague and it was brilliant,all cooked how we asked, very hot and extremely reasonable. We'll be back.

The menu for breakfast covers most bases.It's nice that you can chop and change on your choice.The waiting staff are pleasant. Only bug bear; why bring the hot drink straight away when your breakfast is at least 10 mins away?Overall , the food was of a good standard .

Went for breakfast with friends, and the food was very good. A range of choices on the breakfast menu, and those we chose were very good, plenty of well cooked food. Restaurant is a little cramped, but it's only a little building, so... service was timely and efficient!

Well placed in central area, limited parking in the immediate vicinity. This cafe is on 2 levels and is quite compact. Decor is pretty tired but the food is great, good quality, well presented, value for money. They also hold regular Friday evening meal deals 2 or 3 courses £10 or £15. They are licensed so you can have a bottle with your meal. Charmingly unpretentious and well worth a visit.

Have only been in the day but really want to capture the evening menu sometime as myself & friends who meet up there for lunches think it reads really well.Lovely staff, always a jolly atmosphere & all the customers seem in a good mood every time we’re in there... it may well be something in the food! ☺️Consistently good quality of food & really good value for money.The portions are hearty as well as well presented.I love this place & the home~made rag pudding is cracking.Honest, heartfelt cooking.. give it a whirl!

Only on a Friday evening is The Square Cafe transformed into a lovely little bistro offering delicious freshly cooked food. The menu is chalked on a blackboard and there’s a good choice for each course. Food quality is excellent, nicely presented and portion size is large, so be hungry. Hubby had the steak which was to die for but really we couldn’t fault any of it. My personal favourite was the home-made dessert, no surprise there then ha ha .... I finished my meal with the richest chocolate brownie ever and then even tried some of hubby’s lemon cheesecake which was so tangy and yummy. Pity it’s only open on a Friday but we’ll definitely be back again.

My fella surprised me for a nice meal out & told me were going here and I can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy he took me here, I cannot not rate this place enough, £10 for 2 course & £15 for 3, fully licenced & the service was second to none, food cooked from scratch & all home made....we will def be going back again, loved it x x

Had breakfast on Saturday morning with my two little boys and it was great, staff were really friendly and helpful. Food is fresh and tasty.

Our first visit to this delightful cafe though a couple of our group had eaten here previously(we were in a party of 6).

I used to live in Littleborough and The Square was my ‘go to’ place for a Sunday brekkie. Consistently good food and service.

We called in Thursday 24th May for the first time.

I have frequented the Square cafe a number of times. The food here is excellent although sometimes the food wait can be a while but the friendly staff do give you a heads up when they are incredibly busy.

Always a warm welcome, good food and good value. Remember to take cash, no card payments (there's an ATM just along Church Street). Takeout available, sometimes all tables are taken, but that's to be expected, it's a great little cafe.

Had the all day breakfast, was very tasty and the friendly staff will make me want to return. The room was a bit small but it keeps the atmosphere homely and quaint.

Food and Staff are great but I have never ordered anything other than there breakfast as its the best place to eat breakfast. They will cook and make everything they way you want and you won't leave hungry

I visited with my wife and son. My wife and I had breakfasts and my son sausage on toast. I can say from the presentation, to the food it’s self, everything was superb. Bobby and the team always provided top level food! Well done guys!

Great cafe with home baked pies wow chips and gravy.I had the mince and onion.The cheese and onion pie is brilliant as well.Railway station is opposite.Plenty of buses.Parking outside.Ground floor and first floor. Toilets are on the first floor.

Lovily family run Restraunt,waitress very pleasant.Had Lovily steaks ,curries all came out together and was piping hot,well worth a try.xx

My lovely daughter treated me to an unexpected brunch. I chose the small breakfast and she had the medium one. Both really enjoyed the food and the service was great too.

Felt and looked dirty.Latte didn't taste right, toast was already butterd (margarine)and cold which makes me cringe and it was very greasy.The girl serving was lovely and very accommodating considering she had to go up and down stairs every 2 minutes!

Gorgeous breakfast ! My boyfriend had the Steak baguette which looked to die for ! I had vegi breakfast poached eggs was lovely ! I am a local so I always come here. Lovely food !

Stopped for a coffee and a bacon barm. Decided to ask for it on toast/ well done.It came outside shortly and was just as asked for- lovely well done lean bacon.will return when in the village.

We missed our train from littleborough to Manchester Victoria by a few seconds so with 30 mins to kill we popped into The Square Cafe for something to eat. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The cafe was so efficient -we had a meal each and a drink each within 20 minutes and the food was delicious! It's a lovely cosy cafe and we will definitely be back!!!

Good is always brilliant and is always out fairly quickly. Never a complaint to be made! It can get fairly busy at weekends but what do you expect with a great Cafe!

Called for breakfast (3 of us) before walking the canal to Hebden Bridge.The guy opened on time (8am) and greeted us warmly, we had bacon barms and coffees, bacon was tasty and well cooked, on what looked like Sheldon's Barms, coffee was good.And then the surprise, just over 3 quid each! great value in anyone's book!We will definitely return!

Love this place. Staff are attentive and always friendly. Coffee is simply gorgeous. I usually go for breakfast. Had yummy poached eggs today. Free range. Tasty. But have had great lunches too. Wish the place was bigger. Sometimes can't get a table. But well worth waiting. Cozy. Unrushed. Great food. Great service. Prices very reasonable. My favourite cafe.

I have eaten here on a few occasions now and each time it's been absolutely spot on. The choice of food is excellent and the staff working the tables are very friendly and efficient. Bob the chef ensures the food is cooked to perfection and is always available for a quick hello.

Go here often for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Good menu, good value and lovely staff. I've never had a problem except having to wait for a table. It's popular for a reason. Always served quickly and never have an issue with the food.

We went here for lunch on Monday 19th October 2015. We went in and promptly went upstairs because it was rather "busy" on the ground floor. We found a seat for 4 and sat and waited and waited for the waitress. Eventually she arrived and then disappeared so she could get the menus, unbeknown to us we should have collected them downstairs before we went upstairs. Anyhow after many trips up and downstairs we finally received our menu. We promptly gave the waitress our orders with drinks. After what seemed like hours and still no food I decided that I would have to move my car as I was in a parking zone for 1 hour. Eventually after drinking our liquid refreshments some time ago the waitress arrived with "parts" of what we ordered one item at a time (yes I did look to see if she only had one hand, but she was normal, she had two) we eventually received delivery of what we ordered (pizza Express deliver quicker I'm sure). I can't complain about the quality of the food. when it finally arrived it was very nice, shame we spent an absolute age waiting for it. There was no apology for the delay, no communication from the staff whatsoever.As you can guess, NO we won't be going back. What a waste of a day off work

Great place to try if you have not been before. Lovely home style food. Proper chips that are nice and brown and melt in the mouth. Friendly staff. Only negative is pay by cash only.

Good quick service food hot and well cooked and plenty of it seating upstairs and down toilets may be difficult if you are the infirm as they are situated upstairs

Visited The Square for breakfast with friends and it was lovely. I had the medium breakfast which had everything, bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, beans, fried bread, toast and tea! Reasonable prices and efficient service. Thelunchmenu looked equally as delucious.

We had a lunch stop here along with the mother-in-law. I enjoyed the soup (pumpkin n sweet potato) my wife had prawn sandwich (see photo) and mum had cheesy scramble on toast. All food was well presented by a friendly staff member and it was all of good quality. The prices on the menu are very reasonable and offer a good range/choice along with their specials board. This cafe is not very big - it only has 4 tables downstairs with some more upstairs which is where the toilets are so its no good for anyone with mobility problems. This cafe is clean and comfortable so I'm more than happy to recommend it.

Absolutely love this little café, superb food and customer service. Food is ALWAYS served on extremely hot plates and staff very friendly. The chef is very accommodating as you can make up your own breakfast however, there is a wide selection of meals on the menu to suit every meal: breakfast, lunch & tea. very reasonably priced - one of my favourites!

Again, the Square is one of these places that you want to come back to and unfortunately, we only found it on our last day.We opted for the "small breakfast" which comes with a hot drink or orange juice and 2 slices of toast. There is plenty on your plate too!!It consisted of 2 very good quality chipolatas, black pudding, a slice of bacon, tomatoes, baked beans, 1/2 a fried slice and fried egg. I couldn't actually finish mine and I have a good appetite! The hot chocolate was massive with cream and marshmallows. The prices were very very reasonable!!The rest of the menu is down to earth and honest, everything a British café should be. Sometimes you just want "proper" English grub and this place certainly delivers that. I would have liked to come here at lunchtime, to sample some more of their cooking.The café is very clean, the kitchen looked immaculate. Good toilet facilities and plenty of room if you needed to do baby changing etc....The young lady serving us was very pleasant and sweet, I can really see how it is so popular.You will be very impressed, if you come here.Thank you.

This is a great little café right in the centre of Littleborough. It may not have the most exotic menu but everything is cooked freshly and is piping hot. I especially recommend the omelettes or the wraps.As it's quite small and always busy, it's not always easy to get a table. But if you have a walk around the block, there is usually a table free when you return.The service could do to be a bit quicker and the prices are slightly high for café food, but this is the only negative thing I can say about The Square. The staff are friendly.I go quite often and will continue to do so.

Don't get to go in much but when I do it never disappoints. Love the mince and onion pie and the pepper chips!! Used to call in on the way to work for a sausage butty and toast, good times!! Hot chocolates are always on point too! Love it!!

i travel 8 miles to get a breakfast here, that alone tells you something the food it is excellent quality,nicely presented always and steaming hot,bobby will go do anything for you if asked ,no problems,the staff are extremely friendly and serve the food as quick as they can,this is not a fast food place by the way.Everything is cooked fresh and is very appealing both to the eye and the platter,both me and my partner highly rate the place as many friends i know also.There is seating for approximately 24-30 people ,parking outside if you're lucky otherwise parking in the area is free,

If it's an English cooked breakfast that you are after, this is the place for you. We arrived at 8am - this small town was still sleeping, but this appealing small cafe was open and welcoming. Upstairs and downstairs seating, bright and light space with the big shopfront windows, toilets, some reading material - and a small store across the road if you want to pick up your favourite newspaper and enjoy reading it with your breakfast. What they called the small breakfast was standard fare, and came with a cup of tea or coffee and toast. Other tables were occupied by locals, confirming that this is a reliable place to stop for a bite. We would happily return.

I visited the Square Cafe in Littleborough Town Centre earlier this year for a hearty breakfast and was not disappointed. This is my second visit and I would recommend it for the good value breakfast fayre.

A welcome cafe in Littleborough Village: good, wholesome food & naturally friendly waitresses.As a regular visitor, I can recommend the all-day breakfast which comes in two sizes & a free cuppa included! £4 & you leave fully satisfied. The place is clean & the kitchen is visible if you wish to view it. My only complaint (not really!) is that I wish it was a little bigger. More than once when my friends & myself have visited, it has been full so we have had to go elsewhere - just not the same!

Popped in here on Sunday for a coffee. The menu was very varied and reasonable. They did all day breakfasts of varying sizes. You could also have main meals. I had a slice of cinnamon toast which took me straight back to my childhood. The waitresses were polite and friendly. Will definitely return if in the area.
