Great food, atmosphere and service

An attractive pub , good for a family outing and the covered outdoor area is enticing but very noisy. Food nothing to write home about and my seafood paella, on the specials board, was expensive and unlike any paella I have ever eaten; swimming in stock , unusual thick layer of melted cheese in top, consisted mainly of chorizo and very rubbery squid with only one tiny shrimp spotted. Garnished with a few mussels. Pizzas also not great and roast belly of pork underwhelming. Salmon OK A nice place to visit but don’t go specially for the food

We have been to Spotted Cow on a few ocassions now. We had a range of food for sunday including sunday roast, pizzas and other varieties. Sunday roast beef was good. It was nicely layered but the potatoes were a bit dry so needed gravy, yorkshire pudding was perfect. Pizzas looked from a stone oven so i shall definitely be trying those. Desserts were great. The cheesecake and sticky toffee both looked and tasted amazing. Will be back.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here, great food and portions. We were tucked around the corner from the bar, so we had to wait a fair while for service at times and couldn't judge the atmosphere. But worth the effort for he food 👍

Nice pub with the great location. We went there for Sunday Roast, the portion was good size, beef was done very well, potatoes were a bit dry but as they gave us more gravy it tasted very good. Pub is quite small but they have conservatory and also lots of sits available outside if the weather is good.

We ordered 4 steak pies and only 1 of the pies had meat in. It was £20/pie so with 4 pies the pub had £80 to play with. This is more than enough budget to put some contents in the pie. I left the pub feeling disappointed and ripped off. If it’s a gravy pie. They should advertise it as a gravy pie.

One of the best pub meals we've had at normal prices; charming service as well. Could do with signs from main road as started to doubt the satnav! Well worth a visit.

Good pub to go to. It's been about 20 years since we were last there and it does seemed to have changed a bit. There is a large conservatory, a children's play area and a reasonable car park. Food is very good, I had the whitbait, pie of the day and apple crumble with custard. All very good and the staff are very friendly a helpful.

Very nice location on a sunny day. Staff friendly & helpful. However food disappointing. We had shared skewers of chicken, prawns and halloumi with dips. Yogurt dip nice but the other two out of a jar. Maybe we made a bad choice.

What a great place. Our first time so didn’t know what to expect. But an absolute delight. A lovely location. Such tasty dishes, decent portions and we were served by a delightful waitress. We all said we’d be back. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the food. My sons burger came with a stale bun, that you couldn't even put a knife through. They did replace this but by the time it came out, we had nearly finished what we could eat. The rice with the skewers were in clumbs, so clearly microwaved. The fish and chips came with a tartar sauce that had a skin on it. Very disappointing when you pay over £4 for a diet coke from the pump. One plus, the staff are nice.

I recently visited The Spotted Cow Pub in Farnham, and despite it being a bit of a journey, it was absolutely worth it. The interior is charming and cozy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I ordered the chicken and chorizo skewers, which were accompanied by grilled vegetables and a refreshing minty sauce. The skewers were flavourful, and the combination with the vegetables and sauce was delightful. The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and I will definitely be returning to The Spotted Cow. It’s a hidden gem that’s well worth the visit.

Best restaurant I have been to in Surrey for many years. everything was beyond top standard. All our meal choices were superb and we are already planning for a revisit to try the Sunday roast or and steak. Such a chilled relaxing atmosphere, staff very pleasant and attentive. couldn’t ask for more, plus the grounds are beautiful inside and out. So glad I came across this hidden gem I can’t wait to return.

Despite its idyllic rural location I was very disappointed with the Spotted Cow Special Pizza. I ordered it as it is a house special only to find egg shell on my first slice and the next two mouthfuls were also covered in shell. Upon discovering this I sent the food back and requested it be removed from the bill. The waitress did offer to get another made but I had lost my appetite by this point and my partner had almost finished her lunch so a bit of a hollow gesture in my opinion and we were not even offered any form of compensation for our trouble We are very disappointed in this experience as we had been looking forward to this meal as part of our weekend stay in Farnham and given the fact that there are plenty of other venues in the area we could have chosen instead. Very very disappointing experience! 😞

Good welcome and a nice choice of seating options. Menu was varied with lots of choice and food was good. Desserts were highlight!

We came here mid-afternoon for my dad's 80th birthday. Great beer, beautiful pub inside and out. The service was excellent. Good beer and food menu. The waitress was very kind and wished my dad a happy birthday when she brought his dessert out. She even offered to sing!

After a lovely 12km walk, we had a great Sunday lunch in this pub. Seating in the sunny terrace, soaking atmosphere and enjoying delicious food! Everything was great and we would definitely come back for another lunch.

Severely disappointed last night by the inattentive, forgetful and generally poor service my partner and I received. I presume the heat of the hottest day of the year had the staff flustered. It's a shame, as this venue is gorgeous and clearly well cared for and a lot of thought has been put into the ambience and style. Our starters were forgotten about. They brought the mains out and asked 'haven't you had your starters'? Now if they didn't have 5 different waiters serving a section, they may have been able to communicate and keep a consistent flow of service. My partner got her garlic bread...but I didn't get my starter until 40 minutes after my partner had hers... and then my wings were burnt and flavourless. We eventually got our mains. My partner was happy with hers, but regrettably my cod was also overcooked and I could not finish it. They removed the cod from the bill - but spending upwards of 80 quid on a meal out - having spent good money to get there by taxi, the evening just felt marred. The only redeeming member of staff was a very apologetic and genuine Albanian waitress who I believe was called Eri. Would visit again...but only if the service and food improved.

We went here for the first time to watch euro 24 finals. They had extra screens to watch it comfortably and great service. Everyone is super friendly plus they are dog friendly which we loved! Definately coming back as it’s a very nice and clean pub in a calm area:) thanks guys!

What a gem of a space for a lunch. Lovely shaded tables and gardens and bowls of water for dogs. Food excellent and fresh and service excellent. Highly recommended and interesting menu.

This is an amazing country pub in a great location, with great food and hard working staff. Can't fault the place and hope to return there one day

Overall just ok. Our visit was more highlighted by the horrendous weather but what did turn up to our garden table (in the pouring rain, so credit to them for bringing it out) was a very average burger. We ordered cheese on it but it wasn't added so in the end the burger was a large patty, a big piece of tomato and some lettuce. The cornichons fell out but expect they were in there too. There was a nice spicy sauce with it but the whole thing was cold and overall not great... The kids pizzas looked great and were a good size (but cost £10!) but the only option was margarita... No idea why they couldn't offer even some pepperoni. Wife's roast was just ok too. Cold but tasted ok.

Called in with my pal for an afternoon pint. Good choice of ales and an extremely warm welcome from a lovely bar maid who was happy to give us a taste before we chose our pint. Realistic pricing for a pint of ale and a pint of lemonade for the driver. Will call in again if I'm in the area and maybe sample the food menu.

Tucked away but worth a visit, great for small/medium kids to play and run around outside and great pizza to satisfy them.

Went mid week so it was quiet but the food was exceptional!

Great hidden gem just outside Farnham, hadn’t been here for years decided to give it a try on the recommendation of friends who still live nearby. Very welcoming staff and the pub is dog friendly which was a bonus. There is a designated area inside if you’re dining with the pooch or an extensive outside area. Food was excellent , service was great and overall a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal or a few drinks.

Great pub for lunch (maybe biased by lively sunshine). Sat on the patio, chilled music, good food, good service. 👍👍👍👍

We had a delicious meal with friends on Friday night. The food was amazing and the service as always just perfect and friendly. We will be back.

Really dissapointed unfortunately had to ask for replacement meals as not cooked in the middle. Service was very poor hot glass given with cold drink. Not a place would recommend.Shame as a pretty location .

Amazing food! We had a Sunday roast and pudding, it was the best we have had in a very long time. Despite it being very busy, service was excellent and very fast. A great atmosphere too, we would’ve stayed for longer but there’s no TV screens for the football.

This is not Haute Cuisine, but the service is excellent. The menu, Sunday Roasts is typical pub fare. I sat in the conservatory by the southern window and was dazzled by the sun. It needs some blinds on that side. It is a popular place for families so be prepared for toddlers to be running around. There is no toilet in the conservatory, you have to go outside and then enter the pub proper. Big car park.

A fantastic pub. A few of us searched for a dog friendly pub, for a catch up. Definitely a good find. Great food. Attentive staff. If we're in the area again, we'll certainly be back

Very nice place , more a restaurant than a pub . Food and service good and really liked the potatoes! Found the pudding a bit stodgy for me . Seems to attract an older crowd but would go again in warmer weather to enjoy the outside area

Had a really lovely meal with family, There were a few minor issues with spices and misunderstanding with our orders but I have to say the issues were all sorted without any fuss! And the staff were very friendly! All in all we had a really nice evening! We will return I’m sure!😊

Terrible food and bad management. We booked a table in advance and waited for 45 mins to be seated. The roast chicken was bone dry and food average. The manager was extremely rude when we mentioned how disappointed we were. Safe to say we are very happy not to return and will happily pay those better restaurants who deserve it.

Five of us were booked in for lunch. All of us bar one opted for roasts and they all appeared to have a smokey/BBQ taste, even the vegetables. We mentioned it to our server and she hadn’t received similar comments from others. I’m not sure it was because we were one of, if not the first to be served our roast dinners. It has unfortunately put us off returning for a roast dinner. The desserts however were very nice.

Found this tonight, love the name, lovely pub and food.

First visit here and loved it, great staff and brilliant vibe and atmosphere. Bar food was fab,delicious chips,nachos etc, good drinks, they have a brilliant event area too which was perfect.

Wow, just wow… The Spotted Cow is tucked away in a scheduled area that you think a restaurant would be. This is a must visit place for all the die hard food fans. From the moment you walk in to being greeted to the table service is exceptional. The food is quite simply incredible and is not over priced for the quality of food on offer. I will be returning with other members of my family, so that they can taste the amazing food on offer. I would advise to book before arriving as it is very popular.

Great pub, food good all round, particularly impressed by the Italian items on the menu. I’d come back for the pizza alone.

What an absolutely stunning place in a beautiful setting.😍 The service was impeccable.👌 The atmosphere was warm and inviting. ❤️ There is parking and a lovely conservatory. 🚗 A great children's play area (take spare clothes in winter, they get rather muddy!) 🛝 Our only issue was with the roast potatoes 🥔 They were more boiled potatoes than roast potatoes. Otherwise, the food was yummy 😋 Highly recommend this place 👌

Lovely little out of the way pub

The pizza was burnt, there was minimal to no cheese on the pizzas, it took ages for a driver to get to the restaurant and food had been waiting for a while to be collected.

Very much needing updating and modernising. Just look at the carpet in the conservatory. Ordered a “large Dover sole” at a big price, and it was tiny….more like a lemon sole. Very disappointing, as I knew it years ago and it was great.

Great spot. Also nice walks in the woods near. Dropped in on Saturday and let me park my car in the car park before a walk and then went back in for a drink. Really well run

We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing lunch today! We arrived before opening after our dog walk and we were welcomed with a warm, polite service and offered a drink before the kitchen opened. We enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the pie of the day which was delicious! The pudding menu looked scrumptious, we were too full to try, though we will definitely return to try the eton mess and banoffee pie! Maybe even the lemon meringue pie 😋 Highly recommend after a long walk around Bourne Woods!

Service at Saturday lunchtime good but the food was disappointing. Also overpriced compared to other pubs and restaurants in the area.

Came on a Saturday afternoon, lovely outside space to enjoy lunch in the late summer sun. The food was lovely and the service was excellent, we were very well looked after. They had their usual menu as well as some daily specials. I had the pie and it was lovely. They had well kept ale. The pub itself is a little small, but with the outdoor seating area which had a retractable roof for the summer weather makes it much bigger than it once was.

Warm, friendly, cosy gastropub. Never fails to impress on quality. I've had the belly of pork the last three visits, it's that good! Recently had an OUTSTANDING lunch. I was in food heaven. Try the starter of scallops on a bed of black pudding and pea puree. Mmmmmm. Just been again for Sunday lunch. Reassuringly expensive. Very well presented Sunday roast. Beef was spot on. Especially liked the big Yorkshire pudding with a pinch of crispy onions on top. Red cabbage was beautifully sweet and vinegary. Cauliflower cheese is an extra but worth getting one to share because it's wonderfully cheesy. We all wanted a pudding but we were too full.

Amazing Sunday roasts and desserts. I love the Eton mess. The beef was slightly chewy. But overall it's a great place to go to. I recommend it.
