What a fabulous traditional pub..Such a warm welcome, delicious and plentiful Sunday lunch served with smiles and charm..An added bonus was music from the amazing Steve Brookes..Can't wait to return thank you 😊

Found this gem on way back from daughter’s football match, very friendly welcome! Nothing was too much trouble at all and atmosphere was lovely thank you we will be back!

Had an impromptu stop here after my daughters football game just down the road. Went in to have a drink and get some chips but they were only serving from a menu, but whilst we were looking the barman came over and said they can do chips if we wanted. Great service couldn't do enough and great country pub atmosphere with friendly locals and dogs

Sunday roast was best I've had out for ages , highly recommend the beef .

Very friendly local village pub

This is pretty much the perfect traditional pub. The food was amazing and plentiful. Extremely well priced. Unfortunately my photography skills are negligible and do not do justice the perfect roast. The fruit in the Eton mess gave me a Proustian rush back to childhood where strawberries tasted of strawberries! The staff were so friendly and welcoming to a newbie. The locals were also funny and friendly. Very inclusive and a lovely way to spend the afternoon. I wish I lived near here so I could become a local!

Big family meal here on 3rd of June. Food was beautiful and fresh, service brilliant.. so helpful and friendly and even cooked my two year olds dinner early to avoid a tantrum!! Highly recommended

Booked a table for 15 for my parents anniversary. The food was served quickly and all at the same time and it was delicious! We were given a warm, friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great evening, couldn't have asked for any more. Thank you for making our evening.

Great pub with real ales and delicious home cooked food. We had the chicken curry, we like it a bit spicy and it was perfect! Just as we asked. Lovely friendly service and cosy atmosphere.

A proper pub that serves proper home cooked food. We had roast beef, that came with fab roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrot and swede mash, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, minted peas and lashing of gravy. Washed it all down with (apparently) a great pint of Guinness and a Stowford Press cider. We had a look at the desert menu (!) and couldn't resist the cherry bakewell tart and apple pie. Fabulous food, served by a very hospitable and welcoming team. Thank you, we'll be back

Friendly traditional village pub serving good food at reasonable prices

What a revelation! My friend and I went for a Thursday lunch towards the end of March. We booked and that was just as well. The place was packed; and rightly so. The beer selections include Guinness and Timothy Taylors – beautifully kept. The home-made cooking was most excellent for a proper county pub. This place has no airs and graces. Not a merchant banker in sight; just a good honest village pub serving great beer and food. Would I go again? I am counting the days.

Just what a proper traditional pub should be. Popped in for a quick pint with my wife and we were welcomed straight away. Beers on tap I hadn't seen in years and a welcome variation from all the IPA's on sale nowadays. Too many pubs have been "Farrow and Ball'd" nowadays to please everyone from 8 to 80. This place is still unashamedly a local pub through and through. Lots of trinkets and signs on the walls reminiscent of a bygone era. Loved it and will head back for a drink again soon. Like stepping back into the pubs of my youth, but in a really positive way.

Nothing too much trouble our food, fish and chips with mushy peas, and liver, bacon and onions was faultless and enjoyed by us both. Deserved to be much busier and will definitely be back soon.

Sunday lunch. Pork dry and curling up at the edges, carrots well overcooked and watery. Toilet dirty. Hand sanitizer by exit of toilet where it is much needed after touching door handle. Staff o.k. would not recommend or return.

We went for lunch today..wish we hadn't!, pizza was dripping in cheese which made base soggy and non edible..the ketchup pot had mayonnaise around sides of pot..the kids play park was in really poor condition! Dog poo all over the grass!! Tables not being cleaned as people left!wont be going back.really disappointed.

We had had the pub’s take away roasts around 6 times now and they have all been excellent. Plenty to eat and beautifully cooked. Hope they continue post lockdown

Wow! What a super place to eat and drink, visited on a lovely evening so opted to sit in the garden, the barman was attentive and professional taking our order at the table, our food arrived piping hot and nicely presented, and tasted amazing. The burger was huge, with super chunky chips, the fish and chips were delightful lovely crisp batter, not at all greasy and my scampi and chips were fantastic, succulent proper scampi filling all of the crumb coating. The chef Spike takes great pride in everything he prepares and it shows in the food that is served. Definitely worth a visit

Second great takeout meal from there due to coronavirus distancing - Tuesday night is curry night! Must get my act together and remember to order Sunday lunch too.

Lovely village pub. The chef happily catered for my dietary requirements and even checked ingredients with me which was very thoughtful. The stew was heart and delicious. My friend had the burger which she told me was incredible but the portion was so huge she couldn’t finish it! Would go back

Everything your local pub should be, welcoming, helpful, reasonably priced and good quality. We have been several times and they serve a great Sunday lunch. They also take care of their less able visitors and make sure everyone feels welcome, for many in the village I am sure it is a massive boost for them to be able to sit and enjoy some company even if they are there on their own.

Stopped off for some dinner with the sprogs and dog. We were made very welcome by the staff and the locals. The food was really tasty. Good proper pub grub. Can recommend ham egg and chips. Very good ham. Reasonably priced. Really nice play area outside for the kids. (Maybe a bit tired the kids bit / But they enjoyed it!)

Apart from consuming an enjoyable bottle of white wine, what struck us most at The Hare & Hounds was the outstanding hair style sported by the bar person. In London, this style would call for a second glance, but in the quiet little hamlet of Rowledge near to Farnham in Surrey, it is outstanding. A good visit! I think a return is called for.

Cycling on route 22 towards Portsmouth called here for lunch obviously a pub popular with the locals friendly welcome good selection of ales fair food which was not over salted.

A small, relaxed "Irish themed" pub with great staff and good food, all home made. Steak and kidney pie was delicious, served with chips and roast vegetables. A good range of ales (including a worthy Grand Slam) and lagers available on draught.

Was looking for somewhere close to Farnham for Mother's Day lunch. None of us had been here before. Really helpful on the phone when making a booking for Four adults and two kids. Roast lunch was really yummy, I had pork (with great crackling), two adults had the roast lamb which looked good and the last adult the chilli con carne. Desserts - two of us had the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake which was very good, my brother had the chocolate brownie which was huge and apparently very nice and the fourth adult had the sticky toffee pudding - also very nice. Great service and good food- what more could you ask for?!

We had been a couple of times before and it was very good. This time the manager and his wife were not around so perhaps that explains our experience. One of our party ordered pork and, when it arrived, it was still bloody. So it was sent back but still came back very undercooked. At the third attempt it was perfectly cooked but the rest of us had nearly finished eating by this point. We then ordered the cheesecake- which arrived on warm plates! The staff were very friendly and helpful but these basic errors rather spoilt things.

Just had lunch at this excellent pub, the food is delicious and caters for all sorts of dietary needs. The service is excellent, but Elisha is a traditional British barmaid who caters to your every need, helpful and competent, always cheerful and friendly.

Un grupo de nosotros habíamos reservado almuerzo aquí después de un paseo en Frensham Pond. El personal era muy amable y nada era demasiado problema para ellos. La opción de menú era muy bueno y la comida era excelente. Platos de verduras caliente también eran servidos con la opción de más si es necesario. Los postres eran deliciosos, pero si selecciona la tabla de quesos es lo suficientemente grande para dos personas.

Enjoyed a lovely Saturday lunch with our young family. Menu is varied, including children's options, food was freshly cooked and delicious. Warm welcome from the landlady and overall a great pub atmosphere. Play area for the children, we'll definitely be back in the summer.

Lunch here had a surprisingly wide menu - Torbay sole excellent as was the pork belly. Off the beaten track and small and intimate. Will return and worth the visit. Friendly staff and clientele to newcomers!

First class service from the team at The Hare and Hounds, they were so helpful as 15 of us, children and adults came together for my Father in Law's birthday, we were able to pre-order our food choices so they came out quicker. the food...

My wife and I had dinner hear one early evening while staying nearby which was a short walk. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and all the other patrons were having a good time. People were able to reserve tables. Food and ales selection was very good. Atmosphere was friendly, and various people were in deep conversation, some accompanied by there dogs. Food was decent pub food. If anything, I found the experience a bit of step back in time 70s - 80s, which was a good thing. Would definitely go back.

Dropped in here for lunch yesterday before going to Go Ape at Alice Holt. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch time stop. Good range of pub food on the menu from lunch time snacks to full meals. Good quality and quick service too. Staff were very friendly and helpful and not bad value for a meal and drinks for five of us. Would definitely recommend.

I have visited this pub a few times. I have always found the owners really nice, the general atmosphere great and the food superb.

Was walking at Frensham Little Pond and had looked up somewhere to go for lunch. Put postcode in satnav and drove here. Had an excellent roast lunch and some Timothy Taylor Landlord. When I got home realised I hadn't gone to the pub I though I had! Either way this is a really nice locals pub with a charming barmaid and friendly regulars. Another of the sorts of pubs I wish was within walking distance of where I live.

Popped in for a few drinks on the say so of the chef and it was a great night the feeling of welcoming was amazing I will be going back to this place again
