Unplanned stopover, in this pub with rooms. The welcome and authenticity of the place is great. The rooms are in their original state, a little dated but corresponding well to the old-fashioned charm of the place. The beer selection is impressive, worthy of a pub. And the English breakfast at the top!

The young waiter who received us was very patient and enthusiastic. The room was very clean and the view outside the window was beautiful. Opposite the window was a church and a red leaf tree. The view was super beautiful! The cleaners were very childlike and put my daughter's bear in the middle to read while cleaning. The restaurant has a large portion of food! tasty! ! ! The pink and purple beer in the middle of picture 1 is super delicious! ! I didn’t know which one to drink at first, but the boss put each one into a small cup for me to taste. The service was so considerate and thoughtful! Opposite the hotel is a small supermarket, a fish chips restaurant, and a coffee shop, which is very good

Sunday carvery was distinctly average, miserly meat portions. Poorly seasoned overcooked veg. Oily roast potatoes. Not worth £22. Kitchen staff and ‘carver’ were highly aggressive and seemed to enjoy being rude. Two young women, particularly the one with dark hair, on the serving staff were absolutely lovely and rescued the whole experience which would have been utterly miserable otherwise

Do not accept room 1, the boiler is in the cupboard next to the room and runs 24/7 making a loud droning noise. When we arrived someone was being sectioned at the bar, breakfast needs to be ordered the night before and doesn’t start until 08.30 which is inconvenient for anybody working. Chaotic. My husband loved the choice and quality of the ales on offer and I had some lovely chilled Pinot Grigio. Didn’t eat but some of the meals coming out of the kitchen looked very tempting. Wow… what an amazing restaurant. Everything about this place was on point.. Service was the best I’d ever had, the food the nicest I’d had and a real cute and cosy place to eat. I went there with my partner and we were given a super romantic table within the bay window which was semi enclosed - making a private and romantic dining area. We had moules as a starter and it was he most amazing sauce I’d ever had - so smooth and velvety and rich! If they sold the sauce on its own I’d most certainly buy it by the gallon! For main I had the fish pie which was the best fish pie I’d ever had - absolute perfection! Portion sizes are spot on so really good value for money. I was so full from the starter and main I doubted would have a dessert but agreed to look at the menu anyway - it would be rude not to!… anyway, all the desserts are on a trolley which they wheel in front of you - and of course how I could resist getting one! It was a hard choice but I had the honeycomb cheesecake and it was to die for - you could taste the set honey running through it… Needless to say I almost had to be rolled out of there and I felt blissed out for quite some time after! Thank you everyone at The Woolpack on Tuesday evening 3rd December 2024 - absolutely perfect evening and I have zero hesitation in recommending to everyone who is in the area. I’m happy to say only live about 40 minutes away from Elstead so I absolutely will be coming back here!

We were a mixed aged family group meeting for a celebration meal. Everyone at the Barn at Alfold went out of their way to make our experience special - the food was beautiful and the welcome and service was wonderful. Thank you xx

Fabulous for a Sunday Lunch all either local and/or british products. From the meat to the vegetables & fruit everything is sourced as locally as possible. For me that is a BIG PLUS of this restaurant and I truly believe what OUR farmers can produce way outshines what is imported. Field to plate in 48 hours! Sorry, no photos, I just enjoyed the company I was with and the delightful food which was all beautifully presented.
