All the staff are amazing and friendly.. Gav and Rach do an amazing job at keeping the pub a warm and welcoming environment.. you could walk in there on your own and come out with 20 new friends .. one of them places where you always feel welcome

The Sportsman is a fantastic pub, great atmosphere and the service is good too...Very good for all events and has good out door beer garden with umbrellas.

Nice clean pub with decent staff. Some locals can be off-putting, but are really friendly and just being rowdy. Great outside seating area. Reasonable choice of beers and some good bottled beers including a full range of Blue Monkey.

I have been going to this pub for over 30 years so I have seen some changes, the present landlady had the garden area refurbished a few years ago and made it a great place to sit on a summers day with a pint.The pub is very fortunate to have 2 staff who are just the best ( the other guys are great also but these two in particular)Friendly efficient and attentive, always there to help. The food is not complicated but very good value if you just fancy a quick meal, burger, chips, and pizza done in a proper pizza oven.A nice selection of beers and wines/gins and inch’s cider …. Top notch …. Ps and it’s dog friendly.

Hired the room for my birthday last night and the staff did a great job in serving my friends and family. My guests loved the room and enjoyed the night.

We were in the function room, but it was a proper pub with friendly, efficient staff. I'm sure they didn't know what to make of a bunch of rockers, but they went with it lol.

Staff a bit moody and like to stare to the point its uncomfortable but nice bar

Looked inviting so popped in to see if they served the hard stuff!...coffee, which they did and was really nice and they brought it over for us, nice atmosphere to, seems a really friendly place.

Bit disappointing there was no free WiFi but beautifully kept pub and great customer service 😊☺️

We hired the function room. The room is amazing. Clean nicely decorated. Lots of space. Bar was good, plenty of selection of drinks. We hired their resident dj. Great music, great energy, could not recommend more. We also bought buffet food. This is the reason for the reduction in stars. Looking back at what should have been on the buffet we ordered, there were things missing. Whilst there were lots of sandwiches, some of the other bits were lacking in number. When spending near £500 I was expecting more. I'm going to phone the pub to discuss and will update the review.

Great venue for the wake we attended but very little parking on site- good ,friendly staff

Disappointed that despite it being advertised as a sports bar it is reluctant to play anything other than football. When big comps and games are on for other sports we shouldn't need to beg to have 1 t.v. showing them.

Good friendly atmosphere. Went in unbeknown to me that Derby were playing forest but it was all good spirited on both sides. Friendly staff, cheap lager on top. Lovely outside seating.

Only go there for there darts, but seems a nice pub, lovely pint and great darts set up

Clean and tidy, but the Beer prices are not cheap.

I visited for the first time recently to watch the football and was amazed by the fantastic service given by all. Loads of big screen T.V’s and a great atmosphere.

Good tea brewing and Sahara nuts. The kids love them. Nice area to chat and good smoking area.

It's now my local, great place, evenly priced and great staff

March 2019 greatly improved in a year.. British Legion social. 3 course meal top class service very good. Room welcoming and spotless. Friendly. No complaints. Would recommend it for any occasion.

Welcoming friendly and clean ordered a larger very refreshing

We visited this pub for a birthday party, so it was quite busy and that meant we had to park streets away because the car park and road next to the pub were full. Everything else was good. The bar was busy, but the staff did well getting everybody served in good time and the event room we were in was set out well. There is an outside area for those wanting to cool off or have a smoke.

Lovely bar, friendly atmosphere. Function room an odd sort of shape with multiple levels which was a bit segregating. Need to improve the toilets too. Good selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. House DJ is amazing and well worth booking.

Very nice and clean went to a christening reception lovely seating outside and very pleasant staff.

Didn't enjoy my visit here but that's only because I didn't feel comfortable. Not a very welcoming place. It is popular but not for me.
