The Spice Balti House in Leicester

Gone down hill lately used them every Friday Saturday and Sunday they must have a new chef! Cat

First order was messed up missed off 2 rices and 1 sauce had to wait another 45 mins for them to redeliver, then once they did, demanded the rice from previous order back so we couldn’t compare the amounts in each tub, (left one recent order, right one first order)

Have been using Spice Balti for a while now foods always been lovely & never had any issues until the past few months. The foods either been cold or the order messed up,when we made them aware the fact we needed to re heat the food we was offered a free rice for the £40 worth of food. My daughter’s burger tonight was microwaved & rock hard it wasn’t edible at all not good. Despite the issues we have always continued to use Spice Balti but feel that when raised issues with the food we haven’t been listened to which is a shame.

Absolute rubbish order all wrong got it home rang them up and they started saying we didn't order what we wanted went back loads of attitude trying to make out we didn't order what we ordered avoid at all cost worst take away in leicester truth b knowing should close down rubbish if youu are brave enough to order make sure you get receipt coz just con merchants

Over an hour late and only live up the road very disappointed

There’s to two thing to love about this place. 1. THE FOOD. Always tastes absolutely first rate no matter what dish we have and they are always so generous with the meat. 2. HONESTY. Our bill was £24.75 so I paid him £27.00 (10% tip). One minute later there was a knock on the door. I’d mistakenly given him £47 so he returned the extra £20. I’d of done the same but I know others wouldn’t, it’s honesty and integrity like this that I love.

£5 delivery charge!! And didn’t mentioned any delivery charge on the phone.. food is nice, but that was a joke!

Decent food. You get what you pay for so as this place is pretty cheap compared to others in the local area, the food overall was pretty bland and also not much meat in the curries. There also didn’t appear to be any difference in flavour between the differing curries we ordered between mild curry and the hotter bhuna. Friendly service tho and to be fair as a cheaper option for a curry may be tempted to use again but only if other places are closed.

AMAZING food and we are always really well looked after. Great choice, fast and efficient delivery, naga chicken is to die for as is everything else we've ever eaten. Highly recommended 😊

What a change to 3 years ago the food taste beaut and good size too prices are still cheap

We ordered food and it had an insect in it. Called the company and they didn’t want to discuss, denied everything and told us to call just eat.

Absolutely the best curry I have had! The food was served hot and it was delicious.

When I order food I expect to receive it, an hour and 30 minutes later and stone cold .30 years I've been a customer, not any more

Puts the other curry houses to shame. Even the big well known ones in Leicester can't even compete.

Update 2023. Loving the online ordering service. Food is better than ever, don't be put off by low score. We've lived locally for 20+ years and have not found anywhere else as nice - keep going back! Seemingly more consistent, good quality, tasty. Waiting times increasing, but put that down to popularity. Would recommend.

Ordered for the 1st time on Just Eat, wanting a vindaloo, the restaurant called me up, with a ridiculous attitude, asked if I wanted the food, I replied “of course” just because they delivered to this area stating that nobody answered, the guy who phoned me was completely rude saying “u want the food or not if not cancel order” terrible customer service and poor attitude! Stupid if you ask me.

Very bad customer service. I waited 20 minutes for anyone to take my order even though the restaurant was empty. The staff did not care about my presence. And then I had to wait another 20 minutes for "the boss" as someone called him, to come and after 10 min later I had finally my fries! Were definitely not worth that much time to wait plus there was apparently one fry that still had a frozen bit according to my friend :///

Please do not even consider eating here, I rarely every do 1 star reviews, this place should be closed down. Went Wednesday evening, ordered donor meat and chips, I asked the guy if the donor was fresh as could not see it turning around, he said yes. All I could hear was the chef microwaving it. Ate it and threw half away, fell so ill the day after, so did my partner. Reporting to the council, not nice at all! Should have listened to my gut instinct when you see the inside!

Enjoyed a very nice Chicken Kharai with a tasty Nan bread Poppadom and chopped up onion and yoghurt Only a flying visit from South Yorkshire to Leicester but I come back now and then so will definitely revisit Spice Balti House again.

Absolutely amazing delivery service from start to finish. Delivered on time, hot and fresh. Delivery driver really friendly and adhered to social distancing. Curry is quite possibly the best I've had from a takeaway. Lots of chunks of chicken in both curries and also the lamb tikka starter was full of big chunks of meat. Everything I ordered is 10/10 and will definitely order from here again

The worst keema naan in the whole of Leicester I thought the keema naan would be brown but it was red processed meat really test less they should be ashamed of what they are doing my dog didn't eat the keema naan plus 2 hygiene rating which I saw after I made the order disgusted with the food no one uses red food colouring in Curries since the 90s very bad I would strongly advise be aware these cheats what a joke keema naan went in the bin after my dog turned his head away the parthas I ordered was rubbish no taste not fresh out of the freezer and heated up and took 1hour wait and the bin eat it what a waste of time and money

My order was not what I would call good at all, wrong rice and there was more sauce than anything else in each order, one dish had only four little bits for chicken in it and very tasteless!!! Only reason got one star is it was delivered on time.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, service -100 attitude -100 and then the old guy on the phone hung up on me how rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why have someone on the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we waited over an hour before I rang to chase the delivery. DO NOT USE THIS EXCUSE FOR A TAKEAWAY. POOR POOR POOR POOR....................................................

I had a meaty pizza it did not taste and smelled right, the cheese was cheap stringy type and the fries was terrible I won't ever order from there again

Very Good food for an amazing price however when placing the order you have repeat it with detail for your order for it to be perfect so it is made clear to them.

Poor customer service, they answer the phone and then ignore you talking to someone else. Poor food, kitchen filthy better off saving your money.

Terrible service- On Saturday I ordered a set meal for two, I was promised the order at 20:40 then 21:10, but the order did not arrive until 21:40. I placed the order at 19:40pm- so this had taken 2 hours to arrive. I called the spice balti house and all they kept saying is, its all ready it will be there very soon. Finally when the takeaway arrived with no apologies, I asked if the manager could give me a call, the lady on the phone said yes I will get him to call you within half an hour. But I received no call. My stomach has also been upset since I have had this meal. I certainly will not be returning!!!

The foods taste as typical Indian takeaway nothing special here..

Blended bland carrot - curry, carrot mash with garlic - garlic curry, blended carrot with few frozen nasty beans - veg curry. Like someone said not a curry at all bland like a bowl of cerials which by the way taste way better. Plus complete ignorance towards customer..

I dont know why this is rated so high, but I think it appeals to those who do not know what a curry should be like, and are more acquainted on fish and chips, or boiled meat and sprouts!

There indian is the best in the area and the pizzas and burgers are good to all round nice food

Very Nice place for takeaways. They have got lovely pizza 🍕 😄 Overall, Timeworthy place. Will comeback again
