Another excellent meal with good service from pleasant staff. Different menu but still lots of choice & excellently cooked food.

I came one night and got the sizzling 5oz rump and a peri peri chicken! It was amazing and a great price aswell! We then stayed as there was a quiz night on so we sat and had a few drinks. Amazing atmosphere and great staff!

I was in from America and went with close friends and family on a Thursday for dinner. I had the traditional fish and chips--which was delicious--and ordered the mushy peas per the advice of the bartender. I was skeptical, but they were great as well. The feel of the place was just like I imagined an English pub to be--friendly, fun, and warm. The manager picked up on my accent and provided travel suggestions for my remaining days in England, and he also encouraged us to stay for the pub quiz. We did, and it was a complete blast. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend!!! The service was great... Friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff, fabulous atmosphere, food delicious along with a good selection of drinks, we all had the best time with family and friends. Excellent value for money. Guarantee we will definitely be back! Proper pub, great food and lovely people. Credit to the Landlord!!

Had a great meal this evening, the lady I think she said Louise behind the bar was brilliant and helped us with the app, we had to queue a little as she was so busy but it was so worth it for the friendly service, I certainly wouldn't be smiling if I had to deal with a queue like that. The two young girls bringing food out were also very polite with our table, we did wait about 30 minutes for our meals but it was worth it as all were hot and delicious, we all had big mix grills and didbt leave a crumb. Very likely to return based on our experience today.

Decided to dine out on Christmas Day, for the first time ever - I'm glad that I did! Outside was picturesque, the building is beautiful, and inside was like a winter wonderland, with a huge Christmas tree decorated amazingly. I was greeted by the manager, amazing host, full of smiles, laughter and jokes - felt very welcomed by the entire team. Everything just seemed to run like clockwork from the minute I walked in. I didn't have to do a thing! As for the food - lovely Christmas Dinner, hot and fresh out the kitchen, drinks served at the table, and then drinks served at the bar afterwards too. Was a perfect experience - I left feeling stuffed and happy. Perfect Christmas Day experience, will book here again.

We came here for Christmas dinner this year. We were amazed at the great atmosphere as soon as we walked in, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They had even printed our preorders on the back of our reserved table sign - which was a huge help as we had left our copy of the preorder at home. The food was outstanding and easily compared to what you could expect at a much more expensive restaurant. Between us we had the Brie wedges and prawn cocktail for starters. Both were perfectly sized portions and really tasty. Then for main I had the beef rib which was so tender it just fell apart when I touched it. My family had the turkey and it was really juicy and cooked to perfection. The veggies being served separately so you could have as much or little as you wanted was an excellent touch as it made the plate not overwhelming and as an added bonus I didn’t have to have any sprouts on my plate! The desserts finished off the meal perfectly. I was told that the Christmas pudding was really delicious and I had the we three treats selection which was a chocolate lovers paradise. A massive thank you to Mitch and the rest of the team in the kitchen for making our Christmas dinner one to remember. Their passion for food always shines through with both the taste and presentation of the meals here. Can’t wait to visit again (my birthday is coming up so I’m definitely planning on having my birthday meal here!). We have already said that we are definitely coming back for Christmas dinner again next year.

Had lovely lunch, ordered loaded surf and turf and was cooked and presented beautifully, great selection of drinks and prompt, polite and professional service.

As family we’re very impressed by the service from staff and the atmosphere what a friendly little pub. Food was very tasty and well presented.

Well what can I say we came here a few weeks back and the food was lovely so we returned . Tonight was a tragedy . We had to wait nearly an hour and a half for our food . Don't get me wrong I'm very patient and don't mind waiting if your food is nice when you finally get it , it wasn't. We ordered 2 mixed grills and a hotdog . The hotdog was bearable were do i start with the mixed grills . First off they looked like they had been thrown on the plate the steak wasn't cooked how we asked and the chicken on 1 was slimy . The mushrooms and tomatoe was missing from both and when mentioned the staff couldn't of cared a toss. To finish off the meals were freezin and not even bearable to eat so we're left . We had ordered puddings before checking we had finished puddings were brought and just left on the table . Very very dissapointing I feel like I've just thrown away £75 as i arrived home hungry I will def not be returning !

My daughter and I popped in on our way home. I’ve not been in a sizzler for over 4 years. I wasn’t disappointed with this one. Our food was piping hot, delicious and plenty on the menu to choose from. The team were friendly and welcome and very attentive, with a genuine greeting on arrival. Lovely place to visit. Absolutely brilliant night at karaoke last night, the staff and the manager were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you. The atmosphere was fantastic, friendly, very clean, well decorated for Halloween. Kids had a great breakfast with pumpkin carving, definitely be going back again. Jojo

Came for some earlier tonight and then watch the match. It’s been a while since I’ve been here and it has changed for the better. New staff and new decor. I booked the other day to ensure that I’d get a table near a screen I was told that there was only one table left but I’d still have a good view of a screen. We arrived tonight and the man on the door sat us at the table, and the table was fine. However he did come to us ask us if we’d like a better table as another booked table didn’t show up. Which we accepted, very accommodating and some other places would have just left us. We ordered food too, which was really good far better than visit a few years ago. I felt really welcomed valued and looked after. The lack was the three points from England otherwise what a good visit. I will be back and not just for football. I have booked again for Tuesday’s match.

Came for dinner with my daughter on a Friday afternoon!!! I ordered the salt and pepper mushrooms to start, but they just seemed like battered mushrooms I couldn’t really taste the salt and pepper, saying this they still tasted niceFor mains my daughter for the mini all day breakfast, and I got the mix grill and upgraded to sweet Potato fries!! Food came out quick! My daughter loved her food! Mine came out with chips but this was quickly corrected and a fresh set of sweet potato fries got brought out!My daughter then had the build your own sundae. Unfortunately we waited around 25-30 mins for this. But once I asked for it it came out within minutes so I think it was just a case of staff not checking the desserts going through to the kitchen, but pubs have been shut for a while and I know sometimes things can be forgottenWhen they came out though it looks fab and my daughter ate it all!!It’s been a long time since I’ve been out for food and me and my daughter have both eaten everything and I can’t wait to come back

The blonde lady that seated us seemed annoyed and put out that we didn't have the track and trace app, then advise to order food via the app if possible so we downloaded and tried to order but app wasn't working properly but same lady came back over (however was friendly and helpful at this point) and took our order. Food arrived fast. I had the salt and pepper mushrooms (very disappointing just breaded mushrooms with no flavour) for main meal went for bbq backyard burger which was lovely. Friends went for gammon and double hunters chicken both looked good and apparently tasted good. The older gentleman (that has been there years) served and cleared our food was friendly and helpful as always. Sadly there was just no atmosphere. No background music playing we were sat whispering talking as it was that quite in there yet there was plenty of tables in? We've been several times before but this time did put us off coming again in the future. The drinks prices seemed to have increased a lot too?

The staff are friendly and will help you with anything, drinks are nicely priced and the beer garden gets the sun as long as possible, so perfect for the beer garden

We went to Southfields last night the food was ok but the rest of the night was a disaster we were told we had a 2 hour slot which was fine waited half an hour for food had our meal next thing staff came round put the bill on the table with card machine in hand it was 8 30 we still had 45 minutes of our allotted time left They never asked if we wanted dessert and when we said can we have another drink the answer was NONext thing they started serving alcohol to other people and when we asked about this they said they had all paid their drinks in advance strange nobody told us Also nobody mentioned the pub was shutting early on our arrival no bell was rang and other dining customers were in the same position as usFavouritism seems to be the thing there as plenty people were drinking who wernt in the dining area

I visited here with my wife for dinner and couldn’t fault both how safe they were and the high level of service delivered from our ‘greeter’ Adrian, to our server Carys who were both immaculate!! Andrew behind the bar was also very professional and it really felt like a very well run operation.... we will continue to promote this restaurant and will DEFINITELY be visiting again very soon ❤️♥️❤️

Just had to put this picture on as it made me laugh dressed baby leaf salad , what would Gordon Ramsay say something like F..k Me.And no barbecue sauce, the Cook in the kitchen that obviously thinks this is acceptable to Serve and obviously don’t care. I’m not a whinger but come on, i love cooking and making amazing home cooked food that i love to follow from top celebrity cook books. This is a sizzling pub there signature dish  iv looked on there app that iv downloaded and not ones on there it says there will be no sizzlers served at this moment in time,  iv been in the past and love there sizzling mixed grill served on a sizzling platter on onions and red peppers.It was only told that sizzlers are not being served after My meal came on a plate to my table the waiter explained that it was because of COVID-19 and spitting food i did not complain as i was hungry and was with my mam and did not want to make a scene and upset her. Be sure I will be sending a compliant to head office and to the manager on the door he should be explaining this before we enter as well as telling us to wash our hand and social distancing protocol. Another thing I booked on line our table one adult and one adult wheelchair, under the name of wayne tyldesley the manager had my booking but not my special requirements but it was on my confirmation so i think the app needs looking at not a very good dining Experience at all and please don’t give me excuses like it’s COVID-19 and we are trying our best. You took my well earned money and i feel iv been robbed.

Went with friends was told when ordering the wait for food would be 45 minutes due to problem with frier but we where happy to wait so ordered. Gentleman was a tad abrupt and impatient when waiting for choices after giving options on the food that had been selected but nothing that I'd complain to manager about just enough for us to comment about it when we all got back to the table after ordering. Food arrived much quicker then quoted so that was bonus. I'd order a medium steak but it very red and bloody (again didn't complain as I don't mind my meat like that luckily and we had already had to ask for the mushroom that was missing off my dish and extra cheese sauce as the cheese on the nachos was all dried up so didnt want to so steak is also under done ‍♀️.Desserts where ok only ordered the sundaes but the vanilla ice cream had bits of frozen ice in it (I know its ice cream but it was cheap icy ice cream).We would go again but would avoid the ice cream and nachos. It wasn't a bad visit the rest of the food was lovely and the older gentleman man that served the food and made the desserts was lovely which is why it's a not a lower score.

Just had an excellent meal Last night at the sizzling green lane Bolton the steak was one of the best i have had well done. Been to some top class restraunt but can't compete with the steak I had at a very reasonable price 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

3rd visit to this newly refurbished restaurant. What a Gem! Excellent food excellent service in a warm friendly atmosphere. Wonderful service from Andrew who made us feel really valued customers. We will keep returning and would highly recommend it to everyone.

I visit this place a lot as its local and the food is always satisfactory for the price. There is always friendly staff as well.It's recently been refurbished, and it looks good, just one downside for us. As a family without kids, we like to sit in the adult only area and noted the refurbishment has seen seats and tables replaced with stools and high tables, not great for those with mobility issues unfortunately and not everyone wants to dine with children who are over excited and running around a restaurant, but it won't put us off!I have recently visited for dinner, all was good, service fast and staff friendly very much enjoyed the food. One of us had the fish and chips and one of us the veggie burger.Breakfast also was excellent; the manager was so friendly and helpful when taking our order and it was served piping hot.A local friendly run pub, reasonably priced pub grub which doesn’t disappoint.

Food was really average - “loaded” garlic bread, yet the cheese didn’t even touch the sides, lentils and other key ingredients missing from the salad. Just very disappointing. Condiments on our table were past their use by date. Worse, we saw a female staff member use the toilet and not wash her hands!!! Only reason the score isn’t lower is that some of the bar staff were ready lovely.

Been here tonight for the first time and the refurbished pub looks really good! Had a classic mixed grill cooked medium and it was perfect! Will definitely be coming back again in the future and highly recommend. Great food quality.

this has got to be the worst rump steak ive ever eaten,full of gristle .beef and ale pie the pastry wasnt cooked,beef dinner big piece of fat on it,.got a partial refund.on a plus point the staff were all warm and friendly,wont be returning.

Went here for a 65th party they got the orders wrong the steaks were cooked wrong tjey took the steaks back and returned it with then cold chips then came the desserts took 45 minutes in total to do five choc fudge cakes disaster went to complain to the manager who said im off duty now im oniy collecting the glasses talk to my deputy manager who was working the kitchen due to short staff they brought out a choc fudge cake that wae actually still frozen like a block of ice and i have just got home after feeling the after effects of this fawlty towers type of experience and been violently sick for gods sake stay clear

Southfields has just been refurbished and it looks fabulous. It’s a beautiful historic building serving good pub food at low prices. The manager was extremely welcoming and seemed very proud of the improvements. The interior is contemporary and stylish - everyone looked like they were enjoying a good meal and drinks!
