Popped in before going to Symphony Hall.

Great atmosphere, service and drinks

Staff were so rude and ignorant wasn't busy. It was quite first our order was droped at wrong table then we order j20 orange passionfruit we were just asking for garnish we got before and manager and staff start to argue that my colleague were rude. When we call waiter on table we have been ignored and if anyone being genuine look at all these staff having negetive attitude and arrogant. I used to be fan of weatherspoon I will never go to any spoon again. Look at this quite they are not even trying to give the service they meant to give😡. A guy called his name is donte was saying what's your problem bro when my colleague were genuinely asking for garnish on the drink. Is that the way anyone as a staff suppose to talk to any customers and we were not even drunk. We came for his birthday and spoon you need to look at the staff at this store.

Swift service, clean with good food

Last visited 4 years ago. Nothing changed. Pizza was very poor. Really needs to do better...

Decent went for a couple of drinks before the music starts enjoyed it.

Brilliant first time going there for food,had the breakfast and it was excellent could have been a little bit warmer but still enjoyed it the prices are very good much better than some places, the coffee is very tasty the staff are friendly and welcoming will definitely be going back again excellent service. Been here a good few times went in today only one coffee machine working the coffee coming out luke warm the other machine has been broken for weeks now I paid for a hot drink not luke warm, then we ordered food scampi and chips which were nice and warm then come the peas which were stone cold do these people not check the food before they send it down, mentioned it to a member of staff all got was I'll let them know shame because always had lovely food and drinks it seems to have gone downhill in the last few weeks.

Even though they were super busy, they still managed to get out the food and drinks super quick, even apologised for the wait but there really wasn't one. Well done

All the staff here were really pleasant over the two days I visited. Very noticeable in comparison to other Wetherspoons. 👏

We went in the middle of the day. It's your typical Wetherspoon. The food was nice, and the service was swift, but the atmosphere was a little dire.

Went Friday night they had a dj and the vibes wasn't bad

Great location on Broad Street. Great breakfasts & meals & I love the unlimited coffee / tea refills. The prices are unbelievable. It has great disabled access & the staff are helpful & friendly. Great atmosphere in the evenings as the surrounding area. Great watching the trams going past as your having a drink. Great outside area for eating or drinking. Keep up the high standards & thanks to the management & staff for making our visits so pleasant.

No real atmosphere. Too early in the day. Customers walking out because card reader not working. Staff were very polite and helpful in this stressful situation. I just had a quick drink and left.

Nice Spooners on Broad street in Brum.

I'm sure it's fine in the day but having speakers playing crap pop music loudly in every area in the pub was annoying (should be the dancefloor only). You can't chat so you have to either drink more or leave.

Busy spoons, but serves food till 11pm and service was fast and friendly.

The staff are the best you can get here. Always have time to talk to you and serve great Guinness. I slways call in and at £4.03 a pint the value is great.

Good service, nice food. Pity there was no cups available, apparently they had been busy and no cups were abailable. We had to have cardboard cups, although we did have cups bought to the table as we were about to leave.

Awful experiences couple if staff rude unhelpful pub empty but tables dirty with dirty plates and glasses. Food cold. Drink spilt on transporting from bar to chair and when asking for help I was offered a small amount of tissue although explained we were collecting the remaining drink with a tray we were still left to sort this out alone while one of us had to get dry under a hand dryer...very disappointed... felt dirty ... food quality poor...flies everywhere and it's not a hot day...may be cheap and cheerful bit would rather spend the extra money for better food and a better experience...unfortunately food left uneaten.. chewy chicken ...will not be returing unfortunately... I Do not normally complain about food but this not the first bad experience we have had here buy we allow for a few especially when busy.

For a fairly new pub the seating and flooring was well worn and grubby looking plus I noticed several customers sent there food back

It's a spoons so few surprises, stairs for the bathroom is pretty standard, cheap enough drinks and relatively consistent food across the chain (we didn't eat here today but what we saw looked as expected). The thing that stood out here was the music, having been in Whetherspoons across the country (and city) it's the first time I recall hearing tunes inside.

Needed a inexpensive place that caters for vegans. Order via the Wetherspoon app which makes the ordering process alot simpler. Table service. For myself, I ordered the boneless chicken banquet with unlimited tea or coffee. It's not the most tasting of food but it's cheap and cheerful. My vegan partner opted for the ramen noodles bowl. Hot drinks machines were working fine. Service was relatively quick.

To be fair the customer service is pretty poor they don’t really accept people of colour and act differently depending on the way you look

Used it some years back when it used to be a lloyds bar, now a weatherspoons & it's still a good pub. Enjoyed our stay, thanks.

Use the Wetherspoons app for table service. Good value as always but find it quite dark and gloomy unless you sit by the window l. We only had drinks here this time

You get what you pay for..u pay for cheap! you get cheap service back. Trash customer service this morning ! The barmaid had nerve to silence me when I asked about the queueing System. Should have just gone to Starbucks !

A table full of 6 nittys tried to take our food that we ordered. The staff removed these people and offered us a free drink. You can’t beat spoons.

Great pub inside the entrance to Birmingham new street station. Service quick polite and attentive. Food average but well worth the money you pay for it. Would be nice to have some outside seating to see the world go by.

First impressions weee good but the menu I used was covered in something sticky and my feet stuck to the floor but I persevered. It takes some doing to make £5.75 look like poor value for a coffee and a full English but, kudos, level unlocked 🙌. Bacon, sausage and beans all cold and the egg was, shall we say, "rare." Hate wasting food but couldn't eat it. I'm sure it was just an off day and I should have told the staff but you how the English are? The coffee was ok at least.

Drinks very cheap and service was quick, atmosphere great.

I had breakfast here several times whilst staying in Birmingham and every time the service and quality of food was excellent. Also I had dinner one evening and it was curry night. My order for a chickpea vegetarian curry was served with popadoms and naan bread and it was really very nice. I was impressed with the speed at which it was served and despite being very busy, the young man who delivered my order to the table, came back a few moments later to ask if everything was okay. The staff here work very hard and are polite and helpful. I was very impressed and would recommend the Solomon Cutler as a really good place to eat and drink.

The food wasn't great, but they were really busy when I went in, so I guessed they rushed things in the kitchen. Other than that, great place to go out.

You know what you’re getting with a Spoons, nothing fancy but good value. The drinks were less than half the price of the hotel next door and we didn’t have to put up with awful music.

One of the quickest Wetherspoons I have visited. We left at 6pm on Sunday 16th June. I am guessing it is because England football team was on at 8pm and people hadn't turned out yet. As always nice place with reasonable priced food and beverage. Great staff. Recommended

Worst Full English I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The cook obviously doesn't like his yolks runny so he destroys them. I had a tiny portion of baked beans. Bacon was cheap and chewy. Black pudding overdone. Absolutely abysmal food.

Very busy pub with lively atmosphere. Didn't have to wait long for the food and it was very good. Right in the heart of Birmingham near the canal basin

The Solomon cutler was a disgusting the tables was dirty the cutlery wasn't clean had to get some hot water to clean and I cleaned the tables myself never eat in there again and the chips was cold and got nasty taste to them

Like most Spoons on a Saturday night it was rammed. Despite that, we got a table and were served pretty quickly. Food was standard fayre and did the trick for a quick bite before heading to the NIA to see The Pet Shop Boys.

Foe a busy Wetherspoons pub, very well staffed, tables cleared quickly, drinks arrived at the table within a couple of minutes of ordering via the app, food arrived about 10 mins later, with perfectly cooked steak, when asking for medium rare you very rarely get that! Nice location near the canal. And at £15 a head with a drink what more could you ask.

First time visiting, was very busy but still managed to find a table to fit us all. Service was fast and food was lovely. Cheap and cheerful can always rely on a weather spoons 👌🥃🍔

So this is a Lloyd’s no 1 bar. I was watching a video on my phone with low level music on it and some moron on the staff whose hair had rejected him, told me to keep it down. Are you going to keep it down when the football is on? Or a DJ! Or the Rugby? I won’t be back your staff are idiots

It's a spoons, so you know what you're getting when you walk through the doors

Typical Spoons, food was as expected when it arrived. Meals arrived at different times which is exactly how I'd have expected it. The staff did apologise, but that didn't really solve the timing issue. Decent amount of chips for a spoons, as most know this can be hit and miss.

Nice and relaxed during the day if you want a quiet pint

My mistake: tried to get in for a quiet meal on Birmingham’s Gay Pride Day. It was absolutely rammed ! So obviously a popular venue. We went somewhere else.

Must be the cleanest and dare I say it,,, nicest spoons I've ever been in & believe me I've been in alot up & down the country, beer tasted fresh & food was good

Honestly I know it's only a spoons but the standards are so poor!! Sitting at table 62 and can see directly into the kitchen, staff cleaning the old plates with their hands and then bringing out new meals to customers without even a single hand wash in site which is unreal and didn't just happen once but a number of times. The burger was so poor along with the cold chips and curry sauce. The food runner brought someone else's meal to us and then had to go back to he kitchen to check .... for a place that clearly makes alot of money the manager needs to take a firm grim of his staff and serving style. Might also be worth re training the staff on basic food hygiene. Safe to say this will be my last visit to this spoons and I hope someone takes note of this review ! My dad runs a very reputable food review business and honestly you would much rather have my review than his reaching nearly a million views

Upstairs far more pleasant than downstairs. Good staff, nice selection of reasonably priced drinks in good surroundings

A very busy Lloyds No.1 bar (part of the Wetherspoons chain) on Broad Street, frequented by a wide variety of people. It is not unusual in the early evening to see local business people enjoying a drink to help wind down after work, mingling amongst the theatre goers enjoying a meal and drink before their show, and the rowdy hen and stag parties exploring the many bars and clubs along this notorious 'party' street. Unlike traditional Wetherspoons, the Lloyds No. 1 brand often have music playing and later in the evening will begin to have more of a nightclub feel, than a pub. That said, this place feels safe and welcoming, and provide all the usual Wetherspoons fare, at regular Wetherspoons prices.

My favorite pub in Birmingham, every time I go I have a great time. Good music and good food!

By far the worst wetherspoons (apart from telford) Padamoms were undercooked or stale from the start Asked the bald man with a beard for new ones he was very sharp and rude and then i further enquired about our small chips and he was walking away from me as i was speaking. What a rude man He brought out the poppadoms and they still were very oily and greasy. 2nd of all asked a member of staff for some napkins and she said yes but then walked away from me and stood at the bar talking. Only untill a manager came up to me and gave me napkins Overall not a pleasant experience amd will not be returning

My overriding experience of this place was tainted when my coat was stolen on one of the coldest days of the year when I went upstairs to the toilet. I was gone about 3 minutes. I told the staff and there are cameras everywhere, but nothing was done.

It's a Spoons so you know what you're going to get. Our table number wasn't on the app, we stuck to the floor, the menus were sticky but still enjoyed ourselves.

On the quiet side early doors but gets busy. Great meeting place

Only ever been in on a Thursday when theres music on never had a bad Thursday in there you don't have to wait long for meals or drinks,good staff do what you want there job and there very efficient good grub good drink nice and comfortable, entertainment is spot on,it's anice place to visit,but I only go now and then , can't afford to go in all the time only once in a blue moon,only thing negative about it is I feel people just walk by if they see staff on the door , maybe they'd be better off inside out the rain and dressed normal .I don't know any of the staff but I'm sure there all good.

Me and my partner decided to do Birmingham city center wetherspoons tour a few weeks back and we rated each one 🤣🤣. There are 6 to go into in the city centre. The Soloman cutler came 5th on our ranking.

Ordered a panini and hardly anything came on it. It was charged around £6

Had fish n chips good-sized fish portion for price with a drink .. Friendly efficient waiting staff .. Marked down atmosphere due to a small table of guys who were very loud and noisy , Pity as they seemed to be shouting at each other totally over the top .. Well positioned for our visit to the theatre ..

I decided to try Wetherspoons' signature Miner's Benedict at the Soloman Cutler in Birmingham – two poached eggs nestled on an English muffin with black pudding. The concept sounded promising, but despite a nice presentation, the execution left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the eggs were overcooked, almost reaching the consistency of hard-boiled eggs. It was a slightly disappointing experience for an otherwise enticing dish.

Good price and open until late, good option for breakfast or a late dinner. Beers at a great price!

The man with long beard served us on the bar is not nice, he think he talks to dogs, I don’t expect warm welcoming but the way he look poeple and shake his head in quite time just make you feel bad. 2 star only because it’s cheap.

Food served quickly but tables dirty and uncleared. Food uninspiring. Staff seemed demotivated. Still, I was hungry and it served a purpose and provided a plant based meal.
