What a fantastic little place. I had high expectations after learning the chef had been a master chef semi finalist. We were not disappointed. Not a huge menu so you know all the food quality. All of our meals were presented beautifully, smelt amazing and tasted even better. I even had a sweet which I never ever do. Can’t wait to go back and try something else. 👍

Absolutely amazing food!!! Easily the best meal I’ve had in a long time and will definitely visit again and again! The chicken tikka flatbread is outstanding, never tasted anything like it. Plus I got to meet Matei Baran The Chef that should of won master chef!!

We had a table booked and confirmed for 3:30pm today (Saturday 10th June) yet when we arrived the venue said closed for a private event. We booked this knowing Sunderland centre would be super busy due to the Pink gig. We asked inside about our booking and the girls behind the bar first acted like they didn’t know what we were talking about. We then showed the email confirmation and asked to speak to a manager. One lady said she was the manager and that they’d emailed to cancel our booking. I asked for evidence of this but they couldn’t provide it. We’ve now been left with no where to go for our meal and it’s not acceptable. I never normally leave bad reviews for places even if they aren’t great. As it’s their business. But this is poor service. Be careful when booking here! And triple check your booking is confirmed.

Had Sunday lunch today. We both had chicken meal was lovely, fresh veg and waitress was very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely come back

The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were so friendly, I have tried many burgers and I have to say this is one of the best burgers I have ever tried, highly recommend. Will definitely be returning 😁

Visited the social kitchen at the begging of the month and what an hidden gem it is, located in the old Pallion work men club at the ground floor. The food was amazing and staff were very friendly and approachable. We had the smashed burger and the Mexican which were massive. Food came out really quick and didn’t disappoint at all. Amazing work chef Matthew, will be back

Recently discovered this amazing venue. Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean with such a relaxed atmosphere. We held our mams 60th birthday here and it couldn’t have been more perfect, from start to finish they couldn’t do enough for us. The staff were incredible, so attentive, friendly and professional and to top it all off the food was phenomenal! The food is super flavoursome, well presented with very generous portions, lots to choose from and all very good value. Even my fussy eater daughter cleared her plate! The chef is super friendly, accommodating and so very good at what he does. It is a great space, well laid out and cosy , perfect for our family and friends meeting up. Also well behaved dog friendly! We were also able to park close by for free. Highly recommended

I contacted the social kitchen to host a surprise 60th meal for my mum and a large group of friends and family. From the first contact they were super helpful with lots of ideas and the communication was brilliant, nothing was a bother. We ended up pre ordering food for our guests and they were able to cater for allergies and fussy children too which is always a bonus! On the day the staff couldn't have been better, polite, friendly and super helpful. Everyone commented on the service and also the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere it creates. Three family members unfortunately couldn't make it due to covid so they arranged delivery so they were still involved I the day which I think was a brilliant touch. The food arrived with perfect timing so no one was left waiting and wow absolutely every dish was fantastic, hot, flavoursome and the portions were huge. Everyone loved the menu and can't wait to revisit for some more lovely dishes! All in all I really couldn't fault anything from service, food, prices or surroundings and would recommend The social Kitchen 100 times over. Looking forward to the next visit!
