This place is so good that I'm contemplating returning with my family from Derbyshire! I was working away from home and called in with a few of my staff members to treat them to an evening meal, and I can't rate it highly enough. Staff, food and the Estrella Gluten Free beer!!! My whole meal was Gluten Free and it was amazing

What a hidden little gem. Fantastic food, very tasty and the best service. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

Where do I start? The absurdly micro portions? The lack of variety in the menu? The joke of a price for what you get? I do not know how this place has averaged 4.0 on here, because for the price we paid this place was a joke. Everyone reviewing highly on here must have unbelievably low standards or think Mcdonalds is a treat. For £5.25, the Hummus was like cardboard. Thin, textureless, and a tiny serving. There was actually more dip than bread. Infact, everything was ultra miniature (yes I know this is Tapas). We ordered 3 main dishes, all of them terrible and tiny in portion serving. I went for the Pollo con crema for £6.85. There must have been in total about a large tablespoon full of chicken breast, no joke, served in tiny cubes about the same size as half an oxo cube. This was coated in a watery mix of melted cheese and oil. My friend had the Chorizo con Gambas.... £7.95 for 4, count em, 4 king prawns, again covered in cheese. The wort of the lot was the Pescaditos Fritos for £6.25, little blanchbait fish in breadcrumbs. This was actually a normal sized portion, but not even thoroughly coated in breadcrumbs, which in itself tasted of nothing. Unlike with the Hummus, this had the opposite issue - a tiny spoonful of dip (look at it compared to the size of the lemon slice) in proportion to the fish. £3.30 for a regular size bottle of coke. This is probably fairly normal, though still seems pretty premium priced to me. Overall - tiny portions that would be small for an 8 year old, massively overpriced for what you get, and the food itself was miles below standard of any half decent restaurant. We paid £26.30 for 2 people, excluding the drinks, so £13.15 each. For comparison, we went to a fairly lavish Greek restaurant for lunch in Manchester city centre a few months ago called Fenix, and for a fixed lunch menu of £30pp we got easily quadruple the amount of food and it was michelin star relative to this place.

I was extremely impressed by the new vegan menu - tasty and plenty of options. And I will have to be back for their amazing sangria, which I realised too late they do alcohol-free! Very helpful staff although they have a lack of understanding about diabetes and that a sip of sugary drink brought from home is classed as medication. A loud atmosphere that is good for a large party but not suitable for those with noise sensitivity.

Went for Sunday lunch with 5 plus a baby. Baby got his own Rice and meatballs while the adults had a great choice of tapas dishes. On the menu there is something for everyone. They took cheese off some dishes for cow's milk allergy etc. Service was excellent.

Oh this restaurant was such a shame. We're big foodies and eat out a lot, especially authentic tapas and this was really poor quality. The omelette was watery, the patas bravas was all wrong. The potatoes were boiled and still hard, not roasted, they made the wrong tomato sauce then melted cheddar on the top. The greek salad wasn't a greek salad. It has lettuce and no onion and topped with a dressing not with oregano and mixed herbs. The peri peri chicken wings weren't peri peri and the Spanish omelette genuinely tasted like a microwave meal. Also the menu does not have any vegetables, only garlic mushrooms or stuffed jalapenos. Nothing like pardon peppers or similar. If you know Spanish cuisine I really wouldn't recommend eating here. It was poor quality and bland. The staff were pleasant though and attentive. Just a shame about the food. I recommend bringing in an experienced chef and making the menu slightly smaller to focus on better dishes

Great little spot, tucked away just by the canal. The server was attentive, and the food came out quickly. The food was generally tasty, but the hummus lacked flavour and I probably wouldn't order next time. The camembert special tasted fantastic, albeit felt a tad pricey for just the 2 that came. Overall a great spot that I will be back again to.

A quiet Sunday evening but a fantastic find. Food was fantastic and great value. Wish it has been a busier night but meant the service was great and speed of food delivery was ideal.

Anyone who eats here and rates above 1 must be regulars at Toby Carvery and should be ignored. Horrible rude staff, shockingly bad food and very dirty, tired restaurant. Please, do not waste your money!!!

This place used to be so great - I even had my 18th birthday party here. Unfortunately it has gone downhill I tseems as on my recent visit the menu looked the same as it was 20 years ago and the food was just utterly bland and tasteless.

We were here for lunch with friends it was very relaxed, excellent food and service. It has an extensive menu with something for everyone. Cheers Duncan and Helen

We visited with my elderly father as a Christmas treat. He had never had tapas before. The service was wonderful and the staff member went through the ordering process with us. The food was amazing!! We had a mix of main courses and small tapas plates and ordered it all to come out at once. It was the perfect place to share a meal with family. Brilliant value for money. Our favourites included prawns with chorizo, paella and halloumi fries. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately left feeling rather unsatisfied and £135 down. Went with my partner and two friends for a catch up meal and we’ve all decided we wouldn’t return for a further meal. The mushrooms were swimming in grease and my friend really didn’t like the prawns as the batter was greasy and the meatballs apparently tasted like microwave ones. The staff speak quite abruptly to you which seems unnecessary especially when you speak perfectly pleasantly to them and it was very loud and cold too. When we were leaving we got shouted by a lady staff member that we calculated our bill wrong and were £1.10 short. I had no change and attempted to pay card but was looked at with a look of disgust and had to send my partner outside to grab £2 from my friend to pay. No attempt was made to give the change owed back to us either, it was just put straight into the till. Would not return and I feel quite sad about it because we were looking forward to it after so many good reviews. What I will say is that the young girl waitress was very pleasant and friendly with us, it seems like the managers are the ones that are the issue.

Horrible end to the evening! The food is nice enough, just rather unremarkable. The real downside is the atmosphere and service. People I assume are managers being very abrupt to staff and shouting. This seems to also happen to customers too. Staff shouting out orders to customers really loudly right behind us. Then on leaving they told us that the bill had been calculated wrong and we owed around £2. We attempted to pay by card and this was looked on with disgust, so we had to ask friends to make the payment as we didn't have change. The waiting staff seemed lovely, real shame that everything else was a massive disappointment. Would not return as it was also very expensive.

This was a revisit for me. The food is amazing, good size portions and selections. You are given a menu to choose and tick your choices for ease. Service was so much better this time (last time wasn't asked if needed drinks or anything) this time polar opposite quick to clear and ask if need anything else. Only recommendation I would make would be for the servers to manage their own tables as at points we sort of felt over watched 😂

Went for lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. The service was great with a lovely friendly waitress. The food was really nice, large portions so only needed two tapas dishes each, spoilt ourselves with deserts which were again very generous portions. Atmosphere a bit lacking as we were the only people there but music was good and heating on so can’t complain just a shame not more people using this unique restaurant which has been in Shipley for many years.

Very disappointing been here loads of times but definitely has gone down hill. Food average but nothing special , atmosphere not great think created by the staff. Shame won’t be going back in a hurry.

The culinary highlight of Shipley by a huge margin. Not the cheapest takeout option available, but the food was astonishingly good. Objectively good tapas, not just in comparison to the alternatives nearby. Highly recommended!

Was looking forward to lunch here as have had good experiences previously and have eaten here a few times. Today was an exception to the good experiences we have had. We ordered our food, they have an early bird deal which is 3 dishes for £15, however some of the dishes are now not included. We ordered six dishes and an extra one as we like the king prawns in garlic (not included in deal). The food came in good time (the restaurant was empty) and the quality has gone down, the chicken in creamy sauce has little pieces in now, previously had big chunks. The breaded prawns and potato bravas (both fried) both tasted purely of fat (either the fat was not hot enough or old fat). We sent the breaded prawns back and the waitress said she would let the kitchen know. The bill arrived with the prawns on which we queried as we had not eaten these and the waitress said she would speak to the manager. She returned and said she could take them off but it may work out more expensive as the early bird deal was one. The savings on the early bird deal was about £4.20 so hardly deal of the century, the prawns were £6.80 so it would not have been more expensive but she was having difficulty understanding this. We did suggest just deducing a drink (about £3.50) but she could not do this as it was different pricing!! The customer service was something they need to look into as we will not be returning and do not recommend this is anyone else, there are much nicer tapas restaurants around now, it is a shame as this was a nice restaurant.

This has been my favourite restaurant for well over 15 years. We come here frequently. The food was always absolutely delicious. I just feel that this past year the restaurant has gone downhill significantly. I understand the increase in cost is a reflection of the increase in ingredients, everybody is feeling the cost of living. I was really disgruntled as a regular customer, to make my booking so that it included the free Childs meal, there were local roadworks which were causing a significant delay, the offer states, you have to place your order before 5:30 pm, and we were due to arrive at the restaurant at 5:35 pm. I phoned the restaurant at 5 pm to ask if I could place my order ahead of arrival, because I would need to get my three-year-old child to bed, and I also wanted to ensure that we got the free child meal. I was told no. They wouldn’t give me grace of being five minutes late to be able to allow me to get a free child meal. We cancelled the booking and went elsewhere. Customer service and loyalty is everything, we’ve put a lot of money behind this till in years gone by and we didn’t feel valued. The last couple of visits, staff have not been particularly helpful or welcoming, so we’ve decided that we won’t be returning. Unfortunately tasty food is only part of the dining experience.

Worst tapas I have ever had. Don’t be fooled by the descriptions on the menu..you will be served cheesy garlic bread, cardboard meatballs served in a dead out tomato sauce with no flavour. The one star was because they served san Miguel.

I really enjoyed this little place, cozy and clean with the best garlic prawns I've had in a while .

Food was amazing however we had to wait nearly an hour for any sign of food, no bread to nibble on, no checking if we needed anymore drinks or even if the food was OK. Really good size portions and absolutely delicious food! Will definitely try again and hope the service is improved.

Fab Tapas restaurant, great atmosphere and food. We've been going to for the past 30+ years!

We have been to the Tapas tree many times over the years as it is local to us but tonight it was the pits. From the minute we walked through the door, we the paying customer were a complete and utter inconvenience to the staff and they really didn't hide it. We gave our name at the bar and the response was 'stand there' no hi or welcome or smile, thought it odd as the restaurant was half empty. We decided to order a drink while waiting but no the manager snapped at us 'your tables ready you can do it there'. The waitress came and took drinks orders again no smiles no hello nothing pleasant at all. The manger came back 'you eaten here before?' yes we advised 'ok' threw the pen down and walked off. The waitress came and took the order form, still without even a hint of charm and we sat and waited 35 minutes for the food. The young guy who brought it was pleasant but then we had zero interaction with staff until we had finished. The food was good except the paella had zero chorizo in despite being advertised as such. Whilst waiting and eating we watched the staff go about their business and not one of them smiled at another customer, we saw waitresses laying tables but putting their hands all over the eating part of the cutlery. The best thing I witnessed was a customer sent a dish back and the manager got really mad and arsey with the customer rather than be helpful and try resolve the problem. The plates were cleared and the waitress clearly didn't like us as we ordered desserts and 2 seconds later were told they had none. We asked for the bill and that was thrown on the table, then when we asked split the card payment the response was 'you'll have to work it out'. When leaving we asked to speak with the manager and she was totally disinterested could not give toss and even smirked at our complaint and even though sorry was said it had all the sincerity of Saddam Hussain. We all have bad days I get that but all the staff were so miserable and most were down right rude - this place doesn't deserve customers.

The food here was great. Such a wonderful selection and everyone loved every dish that we got. 2-3 tapas per person is perfect!

Last minute decision to drive somewhere and google search for somewhere to have lunch. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. Tapas menu - plenty of choice, early bird menu, food was delicious and service was fantastic…..

A little gem tucked away in Shipley.

Very close to the Ibis hotel and Saltaire brewery which was perfect. Booked online and got a conformation straight away. The restaurant is on two floors and we were seated upstairs. It was very light and airy. Our drinks order arrived and food order was taken at that time. We had nachos as a starter then 4 tapas dishes. They were all delicious. The service was good and the bill very reasonable.

Looking for somewhere to eat on a bank holiday proved tricky until we found the Tapas Tree. We were advised to order 2 to 3 dishes each, which we did plus a salad and it was plenty. The food was delicious, especially the prawns. The service was excellent and the waiting time more than acceptable. We would certainly go again.

Nice little hidden away restaurant, relatively cheap, got 3 dishes each and still had left ivers to take home. Calamari was very stringy from the skin they’d left on but other than that everything was nice. Lovely waitress on her own very chatty and polite

You can disregard the recent one star reviews, firstly, one was vegan but complains about bland food. I highly doubt it was, but if so, what do you expect..... you're vegan! This place, as said many times, is the jewel in Shipley's crown! Established over 27 years is all you need to know. A bad reputation does not get you 27 years. Been here twice recently and the food is great, good and friendly service. Food arrived in good time and portion sizes were big, bearing in mind it's tapas.....and piping hot! Food wasn't on the table long enough to get more photos 🤣 More than happy to recommend and will be back again soon!

Ordered many tapas food, calamari forget about it as was burnt and chewy, food generally was OK but not great, service was appalling and felt we were been pushed out of the restaurant because they wanted to cash up. I went here years ago and was amazing, guessing they have changed hands and why its now gone downhill. would not recommend

This is one of our little friends treat places and we have been many times before. Due to covid we haven’t been for many years but the place is still as lovely as we remember. The decor is still rustic. The staff are still attentive...

I came to tapas tree on my first Mother’s Day and I was not disappointed! Greeted by a young lad, who genuinely seemed to care for us as customers followed by Anne-Marie who advised where we could leave our pram in a safe place. We were seated right away and our drinks were taken as soon after. Food came swiftly and we were not disappointed!! Allot of care goes into the preparation of the food, you can tell this a mile off. We had 7 plates and dessert and it was all just absolutely spot on. Very impressed by the service we received and the food! Will definitely be making this our top 5 places to go to eat out on a date night!!

It's a decent place. Though the menu could do with a refresh. It's been the same for a long time now.

Feel it is overpriced for the amount of food received. Chilli nachos not enough chilli and vegetable chilli more potatoes than anything!

Team lunch so I opted for 2 of the 3 vegan options . Hummus with pitta to start with - bland, tasteless and I detected a strange, 'plasticky' taste so left half of it. I'd ordered veggie chilli as a 'main' thinking it came with tortillas & asked for it without cheese & sour cream (no vegan alternatives avail). This was £8.65 for a very small bowl which came without tortilla chips or any accouterments at all. It was thick, again lacked taste and seemed like the left-over scrapings from the bottom of a pan. Thick, gloopy, disappointing. Thankfully I'd ordered extra pitta (from starter) so had something to go with the gloop. We weren't asked until the end if the food was ok - everyone else enjoyed theirs, I kept silent and begrudgingly paid for my lunch. I'd been wanting to visit for years, but never managed it. Won't be going again. No effort at all was put into presenting this overpriced, tasteless gloop & there's no interest it seems in catering for vegans. I wouldn't be able to make a veggie chilli taste that bad & I'm just a home cook. There's no excuse for the dish I was presented with. If I hadn't been with with team mates I'd have returned it & complained - I just didn't want to embarrass my colleague who made the booking, I didn't want her to feel upset that my meal was so awful.

Went with family for a birthday, first round of food came out cold but was quickly rectified. Dishes came out in random order and sporadically with side dishes coming out last. Besides the initial hiccups, the food was really nice and flavoursome

Microwave food. Certain dishes were cold and had to be sent back. Hardly any chicken in the chicken a la crema. No organisation. Will not go again
