The Olive Cafe in Bradford

Disappointed that I had to pay by bank transfer. The food was good, but I was shocked, that it wasn't until I asked to pay, that I was told they didn't accept card payment... I had to go onto my banking app, using their own insecure wi-fi ( password about 12 random digits ) and make a transfer... Very unhappy about this as it's not wise to access your bank account via a strangers wi-fi. I would never, ever do this, but felt "trapped" as I don't carry cash.... I was very nervous about doing this, consequently it spilt the whole experience..

Called for a wonderful lunch of pasta dishes. Cash only but more than worth it. Great portions and nice service. Recommend.

First time visiting, popped in for lunch with my niece before painting pots at Salt Pots, We both had tuna mayo on ciabatta bread sandwiches and a portion of chips, which were more like wedges and two drinks. The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly, my niece is quite fussy and I was worried she would not like the bread but she enjoyed it, she only ate a third, so we asked for the rest to be wrapped up so she could eat it later. The chips were nice, but with the sandwich was too filling for me so we could not finish all of the, Lunch was £22, which is quite expensive, the food was nice but not outstanding. My main issue was they did not accept cards and I had no cash and my banking app was not set up on my phone due to an update the bank had done so I couldn’t even do a bank transfer, so I had to go across the road to the post office and get some cash to pay the bill. There is on street parking but it is only for an hour, so if this is the only thing you are doing it maybe enough time, if not there is a car park at the back of the shops on the opposite side of the road. I think I would go back again but not without trying some of the other cafes on the street first.

Lovely breakfast this morning. The service was friendly and timely. Nice looking selection of cakes which we didn't try as the breakfast portions were generous.

Nice relaxed cafe for a spot of lunch, staff friendly, food lovely and reasonably priced, and fast service - will definitely return :)

Nice little spot in Saltaire perfect for date night 🌉 Great menu choices and staff who know what they are talking about, got some pasta dishes and meetballs! Great stuff 👍

2nd visit, 2nd great lunch for two.

Very relaxed, excellent atmosphere & fast service. My wife wanted something light so she ordered a cheese roll & 2 lattes. This was cheese roll like I have never seen. Several fine slim rolls on a salad bed with special dressings. Just like being on the Greek Islands. Superb. So were the coffee's.

This super cafe is located on the main Bingley Road through Saltaire, Bradford. There is limited on street parking outside. Service is friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food excellent. I particularly enjoyed the steak sandwich. They don't accept credit cards so its best to have cash, or undertake a bank transfer when it comes to paying.

Service was friendly and the food was great. High quality products which is reflected in prices but still great value. The food was authentic and delicious. Good selection of drinks on the menu but had run out of lager which was a shame on a warm day. Great experience dining here with friends.

So welcoming, Such lovely staff, Amazing full English breakfast, I was with my 7 month old son and he was getting fussy while I was eating and the lovely lady helped to try and settle him so I could eat which was really appreciated, will definitely be returning!!

Friendly warm service. Dog friendly, warm and comfy dining. We had coffee and cakes, all beautifully served and delicious. They don’t take cards but this is labelled on the door so wasn’t a surprise. Dinners looked nice too.

Was not at all impressed, £16.00 for a bacon sandwich, scrambled egg on toast and a coffee, bacon was cremated and inedible. Egg was very dry And service was very poor. Even the staff didn't look like they wanted to be there. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this cafe. Overpriced to say the least.

What can I say, I have never been to this little hidden gem before and I live 15mins away. Had a dinner date with an old friend and we both loved it, the food, the service everthing will definitely be back very soon.

Service was really good however the prices were expensive for what you get! Think I paid 8 pounds for very thin made cheese rolls. Chips were a bit raw too. I won’t come back as not worth the money.

Food was fine. Charged me £18.35 for some scrambled eggs with a black coffee and carton orange juice. Crazy prices.

Lovely place just had coffee but very nice

Lovely little bistro cafe which is dog friendly, we received a warm welcome. Our waitress was efficient in taking our drinks order and was very friendly she is clearly a dog lover. This place is obviously very popular with locals as several people came in just to order coffees for takeout. The owner brought us over some sliced sausage for our dog and took our food order. Myself and my partner ordered pasta which was very tasty and plentiful I couldn’t finish mine! Lovely ambience very friendly service I would highly recommend I can see why it is a popular place and I would definately return if back in the area.

I really love this place, the food is really good value and it is well made. Good hearty food, great coffee and delicious cake.

Calamari only 4 rings on the plate King prawns and bruschetta were good Hummus a bit dry and cheese pastries ok... Lots of salad as filler. On top of this we had 4 medium glasses of wine total £58.25. Better options are around.

I’ve eaten here before and found it ok but the prices for coffee and cake are extortionate and the cake wasn’t nice.

Visited this place seeking a Coffee etc ordered coffee with some cake ( mistake ,Restaurant prices!).Poor value for 2 Coffees and 2 Cakes at £18+ . Coffees not good for an Italian Cafe , and cakes served with artificial cream ! but to cap it all I caught server in background wiping my cake plate with his hand before service. Hygiene standards? Pleasant atmosphere though.

Lovely little cafe, nice food and welcoming staff... Update from 4 years ago : Still delicious food but wow have the prices sky rocketed!!! Bacon, egg and hashbrown sandwich with a can of coke - £17 !!!!! And that was takeaway. Also Cash Only !

Lovely place I have been for lunch and for breakfast 😋 The breakfast was big and a great price hash browns gorgeous Lunch time pasta was very tasty I had pasta pollo highly recommend 👌

This was the worst visit I’ve had. The food wasn’t as nice as usual and we were asked, yes asked, if we wanted the bill before we’d even had chance to order a coffee, terrible, I shall not be going again.

We had a Cajun chicken sandwich with chips and mixed mezze, both were really good and tasty. Well worth visiting. Dog friendly, the dog was even given some sausage

Day trip to Saltaire with friends to celebrate my birthday and visited here for lunch. We ordered Mixed Mezze for one, calamari, and seafood linguine to share between the three of us. Absolutely loved them! Fresh, flavoursome and generous portion. The drinks were also good too. We had a hot chocolate and latte. Everything was reasonably priced. The weather was so lovely and we sat outside yet we weren't forgotten. It was very busy but all the staff were very attentive and friendly. They do not accept card but bank transfer or cash, which we didn't mind. Support the local businesses! Thank you for making my birthday extra special with your food and service.

First visit and won't be the last, as well as looking after their customers they treat the dogs too, much appreciated.

At last minute plan changed and we went to Olive Cafe Lounge, and thank god it changed, The cafe was crowded but, they were so fast. The taste was so close to Turkish taste :)

Friendly staff and nice Sunday brunch although I felt a little packed in. The prices were similar to what you'd pay in London which was a. unpleasant surprise. (Seafood pasta at 13.95as I recall)

Very disappointed-ordered the steak and blue cheese sandwich. The steak came on one slice of bread from a budget loaf (to call it a sandwich it should surely have at least two slices) as for the cheese there was evidence of it - imagine half a flat teaspoon of melted cheese, that was it, you couldn’t taste cheese at all on it. It’s was a very sorry looking and tasting meal. Will never go back!

Had to wait 10 minutes before they took a drink order, then once they arrived it was another hour before the food maker an appearance.

It's OK. Costco cakes & scones. What's not to like. Cash only. 3 stars for cash only. Not a good vibe these days.

We were underwhelmed to be honest! Two slices of toast which was thin and obviously from a sliced loaf, not enough butter - £4.45! My husband had avocado on toast, again thin sliced supermarket budget bread, no butter and sliced avocado, nothing else added, Two average coffees all cost almost £18!

This is nice little cafe in Saltaire with very friendly staff. With great food. Recommend a visit.

Quite simply the best cafe in Saltaire but only take cash be warned

I ordered a vegetarian full English breakfast, the description of this dish on the menu also listed vegetarian sausages but my plate arrived with none. When I queried this with the waitress, she went away, and the chef/cook came out and said that the half vegetable crispbake was the vegetarian sausage. At no point did they say, sorry we've run out of sausages or that this was a replacement, just that this was the sausage, and walked off. Other than that, the food that was there was nice but would have been good to have received more food generally. More mushrooms, sausages, only a single hash brown, I was still hungry after.

Food was on another level, great service.

Food was delicious and very reasonable priced but the staff were so attentive and great. They don't have a card machine but a note on the window does say this prior and there are a few cash points around the high street. Would highly recommend!

Oh my days fresh ingredients great portion size. Amazing taste. Cappuccino was lush. Definitely worth a visit.

What a find this was!!! Met my sister and brother in law here for brunch. Fabulous will cooked food in superb portions. Really polite and helpful staff. Comprehensive menu with a very wide choice. Caters for vegetarian and vegan diets. Deffo one for many re visits!!

Love this place. Generous portions. A squeeze for pushchairs but the guy is great with my kids. Nice coffee. I love the meze. Just a shame they don't take card. Cash point over the road Toilets are downstairs so not accessible for all and no changing for babies unfortunately.

Peppermint tea was nice, but unfortunately, my vegetarian sandwich was cross contaminated with tuna.

Gorgeous food and great friendly service. A fantastic menu of great quality food and good value for money. Definitely worth a visit and make sure you book to avoid disappointment as its a small place and only open limited hours.

A must. We had fab sarnies here on a quick shopping trip to the area. But other good, tasty food on offer. Friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault it at all. Lovely food and coffee's. Will defo revisit in the near future.

We called in on Sunday afternoon after walking. It is a delightful cafe lounge. The staff are brilliant and the food is fantastic. I can highly recommend eating here. They are dog friendly as well.

Very good. Service impeccable and the food was excellent.

We breakfast here one or two Sundays a month. My wife likes the place for some reason. It's not Michelin starred but the food is okay, the prices are okay (that's why I keep.coming back) and they now have a card payment option so no need to carry cash anymore. You can sit outside on a warm day or downstairs on a freezing cold one.

My absolute favourite place to eat in Saltaire. The food is so fresh and delicious. I don't know what they do with the tomatoes on the melt and breakfast but they are to die for. Staff are friendly and service excellent.

Not terrible considering the price but I have to say the food we had was unsurprising. The restaurant itself seems in need of a facelift, although it was kind of nice experiencing a slightly shabby throwback to places I went in the 80's, which could be when it was last decorated and when the menu was created.

Had a brilliant couple of nights in here. Staff excellent xx

Lovely food, well priced. I had the meatball sandwich with chips and it’s was around £9. The staff are friendly, and they provide high chairs for kids which is great. The only thing that lets this place down is how clean it is, the toilet was absolutely disgusting, no toilet paper, wee everywhere, and looked like it had never been cleaned. I had a peek in the kitchen when paying and that didn’t look any better. They also were only taking cash, I don’t know if that’s a usual thing for just that their card machines weren’t working. Not sure I’d come back because of the state of the toilet to be honest.
