What a lovely bar and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Me and my partner was worried that it might be a bit young for us but the young lady Jorja with a J, made us feel like regulars. We can keep up with the rest of them!

Isn’t the first time that we’ve been there, it is a great and friendly place, drinks are good at reasonable prices but, what makes the difference is the staff, very friendly, professional and with great knowledge. I visited the Snug bar in Ware High Street on a Saturday afternoon. Many of the other pubs near the river were busy and I just wanted somewhere to go to quench my thirst. There was a friendly welcome from the team in the bar and I found a seat inside and chilled out. They offer table service and there was none of that "scan the QR code" to get served. It was nice for a member of staff to come over and ask me what I wanted. It was a very pleasant atmosphere and I will return again and perhaps have something to eat.

I visited a few weeks ago with my family at about 3pm. Lovely place, chill music and my kids loved having some mocktails and ‘drinking’ with the adults! The staff were lovely and kept us in there for longer than we initially wanted. The place has so much potential and could have some kind of things for the kids, like colouring books or games during the day. Will definitely be coming back after my experience!

Booked a table for 6 of us at 8pm & called 2 days ago to change it to 8.30pm. When we arrived there was confusion about the booking but they said they would find a table for us (At this point we were already seated at a table & drinking). At 8.30 we moved 3 tables over, expecting to have menus arrive which didn't happen. At what point were they planning on telling us they stopped serving food a month ago & why would we make such a fuss about a table if we weren't eating? The website still mentions they serve food & at no point in our conversations did they mention this small detail... Then they said I'd booked the Hertford branch - phone records indicate otherwise. Total farce and incompetence!

Don’t know why I actually go back. Probably because 2 pubs were shut on a Friday so we gave it a go. No Sauvignon blanc, no Chenin Blanc, no Chardonnay. In fact the only white wine you had was Pinot Grigio and my friend doesn’t like it. Were served a flat beer and a warm bottle of Prosecco. Seriously you need to up your game. No toilet roll or hand soap in the ladies. Apparently there were issues with suppliers. Probably the same suppliers you had issues with last time I came. Maybe change suppliers.

Attended The Snug last night for a friends birthday meal. On arrival had to ask for clean glasses as ones first served were filthy. Our meal was a disgrace, black smelly grease on side plates, half our food order never did arrive, the majority of food in our party was all left on plates and returned. The waiters were most apologetic and reduced the bill but will not be returning, very disappointed.

Went in for a drink with friends on a quiet Tuesday night. No Pinot Grigio. So my friend had Pinot Grigio blush and wanted a splash of soda. Soda was flat. Asked if any sparkling water but would only sell it to us in a bottle (our fault no gas?). Over £15 for 2 glasses of wine and a sparkling water (which I don't think we should of paid for). So other friends couldn't get anything on tap - no Coke etc. Other friend had a pint (no gas) but only paid for half a pint. Didn't get the same server as me (couldn't give a hoot, no customer service AT ALL). Seriously will not be revisiting again. Gone downhill since changed to The Snug. No apologies. I will take my business elsewhere.

Soggy mushrooms, burn tomato, sausage....couldn't eat it. Full British breakfast cold and with no presentation at all. Toast ??? Cold and not toasted, they arrived to late and cold. Coffee... Black Americano and only was hot...nothing else to add. My girlfriend had Breakfast Tea and not even a Tea Pot was offered, milk...we needed to ask. I've been to the snug a few times before for breakfast and loved it but my experience today has actually left me feeling pretty upset and I have no intention of returning. I waited an hour for my big breakfast before the waiter came over and told me the chef had bearnt it and was going to cook it again. The waiter said we could have the price deducted from our bill, so I waited another 30 minutes before my breakfast eventually came out... burnt. Burnt and cold. I also never received my toast which was supposed to come with the meal, having asked several times. Poor, poor, poor.

What leaps to mind with the title snug? comfortable, warm, cosy? None of these were present at the 'Snug' with its heating off and everyone wearing coats indoors the staff seemed blissfully unaware at the irony of the establishments title. We ordered food as a party of seven bringing the total number I patrons in the pub to a hefty nine! Having ordered the complex nachos to share we waited nearly an hour for it to appear and another 30 minutes for cold burgers and breakfast to be produced by the emotionally depressed waitress who plonked them down whilst on the phone. Given the temperature the burgers were inexplicably burnt yet simultaneously cold. She cannily took them back after collecting all the chefs from outside where they were midway through a smoking break. No apology was offered and the service was frankly terrible. So don't go...ever, most locals seem to have already worked this out.

Just been for breakfast with my friends to have what I hoped would be a delicious full English, only for my hopes to be doused in vinegar.. literally. For starters, we had to wait ages to be served, and then even longer for our food to be delivered despite being the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Once it came, My poached eggs, I suspect had been cooked with vinegar, which then soaked into everything else on my plate making it inedible. Having told this to the staff (once we could find them as they were understaffed) only offered a small student discount rather than taking the meal off the bill.Very disappointed!

I went with a large party to the Snug Bar. They had pumps for real ale but no actual ale. I asked for whatever ale was on, and the barman brought me a pint from a fizz-pump. He charged me an outrageous £5.40.I didn't order food because it looked very expensive but many in my party did. One reported that the steak was excellent. The rest gave mediocre reports. Many said the skinny chips were soggy. One person refused to eat her chicken.I didn't like the music but that's just my taste and no real objection. Most people can ignore it, but it was so loud, I found it hard to hear people across the table from me.In summary: a Ware pub trying to be a trendy and pretentious London bar by serving expensive drinks and average food.

Was invited to return to the restaurant with the hope of improving a previous bad experience there. We basically drove from near Colchester to meet friends and have good service and poor food at this restaurant. Drinks expensive and cocktails approx about the £9 mark in an ordinary glass with a slice of orange laid on top. Starters were fine, steak beyond ropey , triple cooked chips , once cooked would have been nice hard on the inside soggy on the out . Did tell the waitress about my food and to be honest I left most of the steak and all the tubes and veins in the steak were quite visible . Was advised she'd show the chef , was still charged for the meal and I paid the bill in full as I felt awkward . Deserts only three are offered a brownie, a brownie sundae and an oreo sundae . All other deserts were cocktail ice creams and very expensive. I truly felt embarrassed inviting friends to join us and just wanted to leave

I was brought here by a friend for a casual Brunch date on a Thursday morning a few weeks ago. It was fairly early so I was the first person in the restaurant.I was greeted immediately and sat down, I asked if I could move round the corner and was told it wasn't a problem. I was asked if I wanted a drink, and despite it being 11am, I asked for a Bellini (something I didn't see on the cocktail menu) but was told that it can be done, in a variety of flavours. The options were reeled off to me, and I trusted the barman knew his stuff so let him chose for me. This was a good decision! I'm still unsure if it was passionfruit or mango, but it tasted good, that's all I cared about. My friend and I both ordered the Veggie Breakfast, I asked for no bread/toast which wasn't a problem, but I was expecting be asked if I wanted to substitute it for something else, but that's not a big problem, just a bit disappointing. When the food arrived it was mediocre, but it was just a standard breakfast, is that something that can ever be amazing? I certainly wasn't unhappy with it!!The atmosphere was relaxed, what you would expect from a mid morning meeting. The barman was attentive and very friendly.I would like to return to try out their dinner at some point!

Had a late lunch/early dinner there. I had the fish and chips. It was nice and you get sweet potato fries which was different. Some mushy peas, and tartare sauce too. Portion wise it was enough for me. Hubby had the steak and wedges. Steak was okay, few bits gristle but, he didn't seem to mind. Was disappointed at the portion size of the wedges though! About 6 lol. He is a big guy, 5ft 10 and a hearty appetite so I would definitely order a side order of the fries as an extra next time! We were a table of ten with over twenty cups and glasses on the table with plates too. I piled the plates up and the waitress did take them when handed to her. We had to re use tea spoons and milk several times . Food was good but was even better when we finally all got cutlery and drinks . The bill came to £99.95 and for the first time ever I did not leave a tip as we piled the plates, went up to ask for cutlery, went up for drinks and to remind them we'd ordered drinks and also had to re use spoons etc . Two of us came here one Friday morning about 11.00 for brunch. Not unexpectedly the place was empty. The bar staff welcome was very warm, but the pub was very cold. I often get too warm in places, so if I felt it was cold it would be very cold for others. As I said the waitress was very friendly. We ordered two teas. I initially ordered green tea, which was unavailable, so went for the breakfast tea. My father had earl grey. I was a little disappointed that the tea was not served in small pots - just a cup and saucer. The cups were only 3/4 full and as we weren't adding milk were bit of a short measure. I suppose we could have asked for a top up of hot water. The full breakfast was well cooked and my father particularly enjoyed the sausages. The poached eggs were well cooked. My eggs benedict was tasty enough but could have been improved by being on a muffin rather than some rather light white bread. The ham could have been better quality - it looked rather like something you would get out of a pack from Tescos. The sauce was creamy and the eggs again well cooked. The only general comment I would make is that both the dishes could have been a lot hotter.I would come again (perhaps at a weekend) when perhaps the interior would be warmer and fuller with more atmosphere.I was impressed by the array of cocktails on offer but didn't get to try any.We paid just under £20 for two breakfasts with two teas.

As a real ale drinker I was disappointed to find the hand pumps have been cut from 3 to 2 and neither of them was available also a clip on one of them was of Greene King IPA (not one of the most exciting beers, in my humble opinion ) but I noticed they still had some interesting malt whisky's (another passion of mine). I would go there for a meal and a drink but not just for a drink, as it seem to be food lead i.e. a gastro pub. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The lovely waitress kindly persuaded us to stay anyhow and we were glad that we did, we ordered a New Yorker burger with fries and a grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was a lovely alternative since not many places offer the sweet potato alternative. The service was was to be admired, many places just offer casual service in hospitality nowadays but it was so nice to stand there and have a chat with the waitress who informed us all about Ware since we had spent the last 5 years in Spain and had only recently come back. Would recommend to all for great gourmet selection, attentive and friendly service and a chilled out Sunday's afternoon.

And I'm a total vegetarian. The minute I realised this I took the dish back to the bar and the bar man was sooo apologetic and mortified, I got my money back, thankfully. A group of 14 us visited the Snug in Ware for a friends Baby shower brunch on Sunday. We were the only group there, with only a few smaller parties of mostly couples. After ordering our food (all breakfasts) we waited over an hour for our food. Which is fine, we were a larger group and happy to wait a little longer so we could eat together. The first 2 breakfasts came out, then the rest in 1s and 2s over the next 30 minutes. Mum to be asked for some brown sauce and was told sauces would not be bought over until all mains were out (even though staff stood polishing glasses in the meantime). When half of us had our food, an incorrect meal was brought out. Rather than apologising and taking it into the kitchen, the waitress put the plate in front of me (even though it wasn't my meal) instructed me not to eat it but to wait and see if mine come out instead. When it did, it was passed over to my friend who was then told it was basically the same to her order so she should just eat it. After explaining it was cold (as it had been sat there 5 minutes at this point) and that it was missing the beans the waitress said she'd take it back to kitchen and warm it back up. Food was then bought out (still cold) with beans on top. When we tried to ask the waitress what the problem was, we were met with rudeness and a "you must have ordered wrong". She was unbelievable. She then insisted on going through the entire ticket to see "which one of us must have got it wrong". We then had to ask for 10% off, because service was so poor, one person didn't even get her food and once we were all finished...cold toast was bought out. Staff avoided our table to avoid sorting our issues. Our waitress' attitude was the worst I have ever experienced from someone working in hospitality.

We came out with the intention of eating lunch and were actually making our way to another Cafe further along. However, having previously had a drink the week before we decided to try out the food menu. The tables outside had the menu on them so we had a quick look before deciding to go in. It's been taken over and has recently been done up. I quite like the decorations and choice of colour scheme as it goes well. The waitress was very quick on the mark, welcoming us and wiping our table to ensure it was clean. We ordered drinks which were bottomless , so lots of free refills. She then came back and we ordered our lunch options. We did wait quite a while for the lunches to be served, perhaps around 30 minutes and were starting to ask ourselves where it was when it was served, any longer and I would have been asking myself. The place wasn't particularly busy which could have explained the wait. However, the food was good, large portions and filled us all up. I had a 'Griilled Chicken Sandwich' as it was described on the menu however, in fact this was a burger! The Waitress was very friendly and quick to offer more drinks and take away our used plates.I would say it's a little bit pricey, coming to £46 for 4 of us just for lunch, but we all enjoyed it.

Disappointing full English Breakfast. Mushrooms! - 'plural' were three slices of a medium sized mushroom with no real taste and the 'slice' of toast which was cold came in two halves of the 'nimble' bread size with butter with the same hardness of cheddar cheese. Although when mentioned that the gridle possibly needed cleaning due to the bitter aftertaste of the bacon, he insisted on taking it off the bill. Having had breakfast in other local places, this falls very low on the list of places to return. Unimpressive as no real quality despite their boast of the Gloucestershire Old Spot Sausage which although was very tasty, the hash brown had no quality or taste except the bitterness. We hope that this was a one off bad day, but we're not inclined to retry!

Ordered the food and waited nearly 40 minutes for them to bring out something different to what was ordered! I asked for chips with my burger and an extra side of onion rings but got burger and onion rings. Asked for the chips still and after finishing my meal these still had t been sent out! Not at any time did either of the two young guys ask if we enjoyed our meal or if everything was ok and to be quite frank, their attitude stinks. Tables were not being cleared and had to even walk to get my own cutlery nobody bothered to bring it out after the food was served. I won't be going back!

The burgers are tasty and good quality though the food took a while to come out. The bar and waiting staff are rude and incompetent.

Excellent place to eat and drink, friendly will do anything for you staff, Gluten free food, nothing too much trouble when it came to my dietry requirements, as the name suggests its snug and not brilliantly wheelchair friendly, but we manage to get in and the staff are so caring and understanding they pull out all the stops to help us get comfortable, we had Gluten free Quinoa Salad with advacado and halloumi with sweet potato fries, when we first went, then we came back and enjoyed the potato skins with brie and carmelised onions, I had the quinoa salad again as its so lush and mum had falafal in pittas all the food is incredible delicious fresh and moorish, a great place to relax and enjoy great food with friendly staff. A must if your in Ware!

A friend and I cycled to Ware on the weekend and found this great pub. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff really friendly from the moment we got there until they filled our water bottles up before we left! We both had burgers and they were great. Loads of meat and a good portion on chips. Would recommend if in the neighbourhood.

Been here once before and came back with family for second visit. Staff very friendly and efficient, the full English good value and well prepared and the overall atmosphere relaxed and above all clean, tables had all been wiped down and unlike some pubs, were not left in the same condition as the night before! Would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I first stopped in about a month ago, and it was such nice food that they served, and such great service, that we've regularly gone back. A pleasure every time! And they've been nice enough to bring a bowl of water out for our dog too!

Had a lovely date night in the snug bar, Ware this evening! Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere and last but not at all least great service. The staff were very warm and attentive despite the busy atmosphere, which came as quite a surprise on a Tuesday evening! The lovely blonde waitress was just smashing and made us feel very welcome on our very first trip to Ware! Would definitely recommend to all couples and friends of all ages, music was an added bonus! Looking forward to coming back at some point in the near future! Thank you Shannon and Charlie for a lovely evening!

Myself and a few friends visited around 3 weeks ago for the first time and were served by a girl called Rebecca. Rebecca gave us fantastic table service and made the night very enjoyable, We didn't even have to ask for drinks she was alert all night. And we asked for her service all night as opposed to other staff. I am currently in the snug again tonight with a few friends and have once again received fantastic table service from Rebecca. Very chatty and helpful. Great place to go for a good night!

First visit since refurb and definitely wasn't disappointed. Had two meals off the Lunch Menu which had plenty of choice and the main menu was also offered. we had the Hotdog with Fries and the Halloumi and Roasted Veg Sandwich with Fries. Both meals were hot and nicely presented and served quickly by very friendly professional staff. Have heard very good things bout this place recently, it had a very comfortable friendly vibe and will definitely return and look forward to trying a couple of cocktails from the extensive range on offer.

This is the Best bar in ware. Thiago ( The best looking barman in ware ) served us and i must say his wrist action when shaking a tasty cocktail will serve him well in Soho should the bar work dry up. The new drinks menu is comprehensive and i must suggest the Pint 'o Zombie it is mental. Tastes great by packs the punch of pure gasoline in a pint glass. The sharing platters are wonderful, very tasty and with enough food to sate the hunger of 4 people easily. And again we have to mention Thiago as he was at the bar knocking the ladies bandy with his Brazillian charm. Top Place!!

Now fully refurbished The Snug in Ware is a great addition to Ware's high street bars, in my opinion the best one! It's really cosy and has lovely comfy armchair seating areas where you can sit with friends & family. Cocktails great & I love the food, TGI type of food but better burgers here! Very lively and staff both very attentive and welcoming, especially Thiago! Brought my parents here Friday evening for cocktails and dinner and they also loved it too. Do pay a visit, I'm sure you'll love it too! Keep up the good work!

Visited a couple of times since The Snug 'pop up' opened in Ware and on both occasions have had a great experience. Great cocktails and the food is very tasty. It's still a bit rough around the edges but once the refurb happens it will be great

Dreadful cakes dreadful atmosphere! Ordered 3 cakes and 3 teas, Victoria sponge was dry and all the filling had seeped into the sponge! Looked like it had been sitting on the counter for weeks. We asked to swap and exchanged for Biscotti Cheesecake, honesty not much better, very artificial, not fresh or home made, after eating my daughter had stomach cramps and then an upset stomach! The Bakewell was dry and tasteless, not good at all ! Asked for 3 teas, gave enough for 2.5 teas so had to go back for water top up and needless to say 1 weak tea as watered down! An awful venue, how hard is it to provide fresh cakes, 3 full teas!!!! Don’t waste your time or your hard earned money!!!!

Great place to watch the footy, and great to see some classic banter from the manager to all the Tottenham fans. Well played that man. The beer selection is 2nd to none...

Awful Bar. Paid for a round of drink and then was asked to pay again. i showed the rude bar staff proof that the money had been paid but they still refused to give me my drinks unless i paid again? Discusting. I paid twice hoping the first payment wouldn’t come out of my account but nope, they took double for 1 round.
