Fantastic pub. A very warm welcome, a great log fire and a fabulous menu. Two of us had lunch and we went with the burgers - meat and vege were both delicious with great onion rings and chips. The whole menu had plenty to choose from - lots of fresh/local ingredients. The owners couldn't have been more friendly/helpful and we will happily go again.

When I first went into the pub, it was a little bit like those old films where everyone looks round at the stranger in the village but no matter, I got my beer and took a seat. I quite like the ambience though I have to say that the sofas whilst comfortable are rather smelly (that doggy smell) which isn't great. We met the most fantastic lady serving behind the bar who really stood out as being so friendly and enthusiastic so I suspect a return is on the cards.

Found this place through selling my car, long story. In any event took my wife and one of my sons here for Sunday lunch. The service was great, the team that work here very friendly and the food was really good. After living in the area for 20 years I am shocked that I haven’t found this place before! Great for families as has a nice garden and great in the lounge area should it rain and mire to the point - dog friendly! Thanks for the experience, we shall be back

It's a little pricey for a gastro pub, but normally, it's well worth money. It is very friendly and a warm invite when you enter. It's always a great selection on the menu. I decided on the soup of the day, which was potato and leak served with croutons and bread with a herby butter. I was looking forward to this as I like the combination of thick potato and the hint of an onion leak coming through the texture. I was slightly disappointed as it was lacking in flavour, and I didn't expect a french baton with the soup. The main made up for this in the sense the lamb was cooked to perfection, but there was a curious yoghurt combination going on at the side that didn't really work, but that aside I did enjoy the main. I didn't have a desert mainly because I was full.
