Closed Why??? Every piece of furniture has been removed. Will Red Cat undergo a complete change of image as premise were very dark allowing light at front next to entrance. Needs to be much light and more appealing to all generations.

They call it an ultimate cheese toastie but at best it’s a poor sandwich. The cheese wasn’t melted so I asked if it could be melted and they put it in the microwave so it came back very soggy. They did make it again but in its best form it was still very poor.

Set lunch of sandwich, fries and beer for £6.95 was excellent both in quality and value. Would definitely recommend to anyone

Plenty of options on the menu but not the best tasting food. Sort of your typical pub but nice interior design. Poached egg came out more like a boiled egg. Good service however

We ate here early Thursday evening. We were all very impressed. Food is half price during the week at the moment and is tremendously good value. But not only that it was so good. I had the salmon skewer kebabs with rice which was fabulous. The service and staff were excellent as well. I don't usually write reviews but felt this place really deserved a good review on this occasion.

Visited early evening with family on a Monday night. Very quiet at that time. Staff very attentive and served with drinks at table very quickly. Food was very good and plentiful. I had chicken pie, plenty of chicken in it, well prepared other members of our party had different choices, burger, wraps, risotto and all were good. We really enjoyed our lunch this week and the staff were lovely, really friendly and welcoming. The Chicken Caesar salad was lovely, as was the Chicken, bacon and avocado wrap which came with fries. Will definitely be coming back and thoroughly recommend it. Monday - Friday at lunch time food is 50% off at the moment too which really makes a difference :)

Delicious food - we had halloumi fries to start which were perfectly cooked and could easily share the large portion. food was delicious but mains were brought out whilst still eating our starters! But as staff were so lovely and such delicious food it wouldn't put me off going again. l

Be careful. The bar staff will serve a double spirit without asking. I can only presume this is to increase their profits.

Lovely meal with frinds on a Friday afternoon. The Jerk salmon kebab was excellent! Issue with the rice that is was served on but this was quickly rectified. Service excellent and attentive. The decor is definitely very nice. Cocktail was nice but not impressed with the house wine. So we switched to another which was perfect. All in all it was a lovely afternoon with friends where we didn’t feel rushed at all 🥰. Only 1 negative point the food that we ordered did take a while to arrive, which was for a table of 8 people. Positive side it was delicious 🙂

We visited as a group of friends hoping for a catch up but there was a singer on and it was so loud we couldn't really talk. Food was ok , camembert needs extra bread to dip , cocktails ok but not as nice as the old slug and lettuce ones and of course not 2 for 1. This new venue has all the plus points to be great But the service is terrible, in my first visit i had to ask for sauces for my food 3 times and it never came so after finishing my food I left , for now I’ll stick with Kelsey House and the George until they sort customer service

Went yesterday for Brunch £25 2 hours, great choice of drinks and food. But most of all great service and the most friendly lovey lady manager sorry didn’t catch your name! Attracts a few youngsters and gets overly busy in the evening but highly recommend during the day.

After good friends of ours had a gorgeous christening party for their son in November, we decided to do the same for our son in January.Kayleigh was tremendous in the way she handled everything, from the first meeting to communicating clearly and regularly with us about the status of the party.We had around 50 guests, a terrific buffet and drinks package. What really stood out to us was the way in which Kayleigh decorated our area, being so kind as to choose buttery yellows and mint greens to suit our cake’s colours; an area for small children to sit and colour, a space for prams, tulips on the table and just being there ensuring the afternoon ran smoothly.Kayleigh really is a credit to the place and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

After looking at almost every other venue in Beckenham, we came across the slug and lettuce to host my sons christening get together. It hadn’t occurred to me as a venue but they have great private space at the back of the restaurant and the decor is really tasteful from the off.From the minute I engaged with the team I was impressed. Jamie was super helpful telling us how the event would run and, when Kayleigh took over the management, the end result was even better than we had expected (it was Halloween the night before and she’d kindly been in that morning to remove all signs of Halloween decor from the space!)The food was really good (we went buffet style and all of it was yum although cater for the actual number of guests you have), drinks were so reasonable and Kayleigh had gone out of her way to add some really personal touches to the space to make it ours.I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the S&L as a party venue for a large get together (we were 60+ people) and would like to send a huge thank you to the team who made our sonsChristening day such a huge success.

Visited this establishment and was very impressed. A very friendly warm greeting by the staff and found the menu to be varied with good choices. Recommend this to anyone shopping or passing through Beckenham.

I visited Slug as a group of 12 friends, celebrating a birthday. We had reserved a table, few weeks before hand over the phone with a member of staff who was lovely and very accommodating, giving us an option of where we wanted to be placed. As a regular visitor to slug Beckenham, I was disgusting this time with the behaviour of the manager towards us. We arrived around 6pm, so the place was quiet before the DJ and music started. As you can imagine, a group of 12 people would slightly increased the volume, no matter where you go. So I was slightly taken back when the manager came over ONCE to our table to ask us to keep it down. But being respectable people, we obliged. Things took a turn for the worse when one of the boys had a spontaneous nose bleed due to a medical condition at the bar when being served by the manager. The manager turned to the boy and told him she was refusing to serve him or the rest of our group as she said the nose bleed could be caused by ‘something else’ rather than a medical condition. When prompted to ask what she was implying, the manager stayed ‘yes could he drugs’. I was mortified that she was accusing him of this, especially after trying to explain we are not a group of drug takers, he had a medical issue. The manager was not having any of it. I spoke privately with the manager trying to explain how we was out celebrating and I don’t think her accusation was fair! She said she was ‘done’ with our group and said she thinks we should leave. The manager would not let me get a word in edge ways as she continued to be patronising. After discussing with other members of staff, we was told this is not the first time she has kicked people out for having a drink. The bouncer also informed us that they get lots of complaints about her and how much money they loose due to her being rude. We finally left and went to another place where the staff were lovely and welcoming. After conversations with one of the bar staff, they said the Slug manager had sent a photo of the blood tissues from the nose bleed with the caption ‘look out for this group, caused trouble’. To be this is slander. The manager of this bar told us she thought we was a respectable group and she definitely did not think we looked or acted like we take drugs. These actions end up ruining the birthday girls night. Slug and Lettuce Beckenham advertise on their website for groups and hen parties. However, you would be crazy to go there with the idea of having a good time as a group due to being ‘too loud’. I defiantly think the Manager should not be working in the customer service industry and defo not in a bar where she will be in contact with people having a drink as clearly cannot cope with a bit of fun!

My friend had reserved a table for 6:30pm for a group of us to enjoy my best friends birthday. As lovely as this sounds her boyfriend (who works 2 jobs, has horrific migraines and suffers from nosebleeds as a result of these migraines) got accused of taking cocaine and was therefore asked to leave. Once explaining the situation and his cause of nosebleeds, the manager KAYLEY wouldn’t listen and accused everyone of being too drunk and refused service... it was 6:45.... my best friend (the birthday girl) tried to explain the situation and got told that her boyfriend (the apposed cocaine addict) touched the manager (he tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention to explain the situation) and was therefore asked to leave with the group. We have spoken to several members of the bar staff and they had all informed us that the manager has acted like this with several customers and has refused service to any customers looking “tipsy”. So the best advice I have to you is to not go to this slug and lettuce if you are looking to have a good time as trust me... the manager is a complete kill joy and very rude!!!!!!

I came here for lunch with two friends. Considering it was empty in here, our food took ages. The waitress told me that she couldn’t find any knives so we’d just have to have forks. No napkins or sauces on the table, we had to ask. My burger and chips were so burnt that I sent them back. After chasing them, it still took 25 mins to get a replacement and it wasn’t that much better tbh. Really dry and tasteless food. My friends had similar issues with over cooked, dry food that looked like it came straight from the freezer! I wouldn’t come back.

I was a big fan of the Slug and Lettuce and have been to the Beckenham one many times, but lately they seem to have lost their way. On Sunday, two of us went to the Beckenham one lunchtime. The place was not busy. We ordered an open sandwich which took an age to arrive (we had to ask how long it would take) - When we did it was a sorry sight and tasteless. Some sad prawns and crayfish dumped on a slice of bread and a bit of an after-thought salad. Even the chips were awful. There were plenty of staff but they really didn't seem that bothered!

Chose this venue for a friend’s 30th birthday and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Decor was so beautiful, we had a whole roped off area to ourselves, staff were super helpful and guests that ordered food enjoyed it. Christine, the events organiser was brilliant from start to finish, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Cocktails are 2-for-1 all night and drinks prices are very reasonable. I’d definitely recommend the pre-order drinks packages which makes them even cheaper. Thanks so much, great night had by all!

I went on Saturday evening with my friends and the whole place was packed. The population is very young I mean we probably were only one's who was older than 20. Also, the service was terrible, staff behind the bar was so slow that it was a joke. They messed around our drink orders what we waited only 30 mins. Also a couple of the members behind the bar was horrible attitude (rolling the eyes of us, speaking rudely, avoid our order) I certainly can say we are not coming back. Disgusting..

Went on a Saturday lunch time and it wasn’t too busy which was good as we had a member of the party with us in a wheelchair.

A nice clean bar in Beckenham staff were efficient and friendly. Toilets were clean an tidy. Drawback was a very Lager orientated rather than English beers.

My fiend and I visited today for lunch I ordered fish and chips - I was told they did not have this. I had scampi and chips instead. My friend ordered a Gluten free meal and an hour later she was very ill … she feels that it may have been the bun as she had a burger and salad.

A lovely Afternoon Tea for Mothers Day. The staff really pulled out the stops and made us all feel special despite the bar being very full and busy. The cocktails were amazing! Jamie and Kayleigh offered great service!

I had an amazing night out with my girlfriend, who's birthday is today, and the service we got was absolutely amazing. The two ladies on shift were lovely and friendly towards us. We will be coming back!

Didn't realise that the pub opens at midday on a Sunday so we were waiting outside. When the doors opened the staff came out and started setting up outside. They never acknowledged us waiting and when I asked if we could go in they just nodded. Not the most welcoming of starts. We were the only people in the place. Jamie, the bar man, was definitely more engaging and made us feel welcome. The food was nice, prices were fair and the place was quite quiet at this time. All in all it was a good visit but I just can't forget the first impression, a smile and a hello would have made all the difference and costs nothing.

Awful bar service. Expensive drinks. Rude waitress. Very unfriendly. Very noisy! Never going there again.

I've always liked the decor and atmosphere in the Slug & Lettuce Beckenham for a drink (I only ate there once and it was not good). For this reason I took my elderly mother (who has rheumatoid arthritis and is registered partially sighted as is evidenced by the fact that she walks with a crutch which has been covered by the RNIB in white tape) there yesterday - 7 November. We sat at a table in the front window, ordered drinks from friendly, helpful bar staff. There was a table nearby celebrating a 2 year old's birthday which was lovely and we interacted with them until they left. A while later a group o 5 mums with very small babies sat next to us - as they are fully entitled to do. However, we had come out for a quiet drink and they were loud and some of the babies were grizzly. We did not want to make anyone uncomfortable or cause a scene so we finished our drinks and then went to look for somewhere else to sit. The problem was that the only other area with the normal height chairs was blocked off. I asked the rather surly woman now behind the bar if we could sit there as my mum has problems with the higher seats. She said no explaining they close that area in the afternoons because they don't have enough staff (there were only about 8 adults and 5 babies in the pub). I explained we weren't eating so would not be requiring table service. She then started aggressively questioning my mum on why she can't sit on a higher seat and saying they weren't that high. She finished by muttering we could sit there if we really had to but at this point I felt we had no choice but to leave which we did. We felt we had no option but to leave. She made both of us feel very unwelcome and my mother upset. It was fortuitous that we did leave because we went to Kelsey House a short distance away where we were greeted on arrival with a big smile, told we could sit anywhere we wanted to and the service was excellent.

You might think you know this place as it's a chain, and discount it as a place for a special occasion but I would thoroughly recommend Slug & Lettuce Beckenham for a great celebration night out.

The woman making cocktails was miserable. Ordered but one get one free pirn star Martini. Have to say it was worst I have ever had. Should be fiver for two not almost ten pounds. Also change the name as it was very poor. I ordered pie and mashwith veg. The pie was ok but the veg came with quarter brown of undrained water. Very sloppy. Definitely gone down hill past year and half.

We visited the bar for a few drinks on a Monday night. It was several years since we were last here and were very pleasantly surprised by it. Its really nicely decorated and while it was quiet, there was still a nice atmosphere. Drinks are a little more expensive than the average bar but its worth it.

Enjoyed a Friday night meal with the family. The staff were friendly and efficient. They have a DJ after 9pm so may not suit those with a young family or those wishing for a quiet atmosphere. Overall, good food reasonably priced.

Asked for 2 cosmos watched them make it and it consisted of 3 shots of cranberry and 1 shot of vodka, complained to staff and they weren’t interested. Don’t go

We went to slug and lettuce in Beckham for our works Christmas party. Everyone had a great time and we plan to go back next year. Many thanks to all the great staff for an excellent service.

I visited recently this place with some friends. They have good deals about cocktails/food/desserts. Last time I came, I met the manager which was very helpful and kind. This time we've been served from a tall skinny girl with straight black hair.We ordered some food and when she brought over the cutlery she didn't even say hello and when she brought the food she didn't say "enjoy". She wasn't happy to be there or something! I don't know.Literally the worst service I have ever had in my life. I've worked in restaurants and I know very well how the staff should be with the customers. I'm sorry to say all those things because this was one of my favourite places in beckenham but now I don't really think That I'll come back anymore.

The biggest plus point for this place is the sunny tables out front - as long as you don't mind being on the high street!2 for 1 cocktails all week, and a great breakfast option which appears to be Beckenham best kept secret!

OOOO...in for a big shock when I went last Monday - there's a new menu! In fact there are 2 new menus - after 4pm, they beef up the menu (literally) with steak and other mega snacking plates.The setting is perfect - big comfy sofas and seats you sink into, sociable tables for big gatherings, plush leather backed booths for a discrete catch up, tryst, drinks and blow out. Decor: bright, colourful, well kept and welcoming. It's ideal for eating or just casual drinks with friends or solo. Hardly anybody there when I went, despite half price meal deal which is just a crazy good price. Poured over the menu looking for a healthy option - settled on fish cakes with super food salad in the end. I'm not normally a big fan of fishcakes but these were mean, tasty and moist and juicy, the chef knows what he's doing. Be nice to have more healthy options on the new "improved" menu - especially over summer - besides well cooked "pub grub" and a lot of fried "novelty themed" dishes. And I don't see the point of getting out a different menu at 4pm - with stuff you could have had if only you knew it was coming! Staff, management and chef are just lovely, so welcoming and professional. In my view, the new menu's a bit of a miss hit - someone have a word in Stonegate's shell like (a few simple classics, fresh fish - not just fish and chips please, more LETTUCE in THE SLUG???). But they've kept the superfood salad and the setting and staff are winners, so I'll be back - no brainer!

We had the most amazing afternoon in the slug on Sunday! The team set up a wonderful area for our party of around 30 friends and family including some small children which was decorated beautifully. They laid on a great spread. The service was impeccable with nothing being to much trouble. I would highly recommend this venue, the team are fab!!!

We went in on Monday to take advantage of the half price food as we have done on many occasions.In the past it was great but the last 4 times we have been in the service was unprofessional at the least we had not been in for a while and thought we would give it another chance.But it was a case of sit at a table and the staff ignored us even though we were in plain sight after 20 minutes we walked out and went to the pub over the road which was a lot more accomplished

My friend and I went for lunch last Friday and were surprised at how empty the restaurant was. We were less than impressed with the food. I hardly ate any of my chicken - a breast that tasted reconstituted - a horrible texture. My friends scampi was mostly batter.However the decor, seats etc were great. I think this is a place for young people to gather and have drinks - great cocktail menu - and two for one. Do not go here for a nice meal!

We have visited previous for Sunday lunch and it was quite good. This time, no service so we had some water and went else where.

Went in here for a bite to eat with the family, but found they had no sausages, pasta, rice or potatoes. Basically, there was nothing left that our children would eat. Some serious logistical issues here. The staff were mildly apologetic, but didn't really take much ownership for the problem. In the end, we went somewhere else for lunch.

NOT a busy weekday in December, a party of 4 plus a child. Service was SLOW to say the least, we were still waiting for drinks after 20 mins of ordering, so I had to go to the bar to collect water for the baby. Several food items were "off" but we weren't told til we wanted to order. Food took an age arriving (we saw people arrive order and get their food whilst we waited- did the waitress forget to put our order through?)The dishes varied- the fish dishes were nicely cooked and generous. The chicken breast burger was average and very small, and the Chicken and avocado wrap had no avocado! The "dressing" in the wrap and the burger was very runny and weak- watered down? Overall a less than pleasant experience so we'll be giving our business to someone else in the high street.

Met up with a friend on Wednesday. Happened to be wine down Wednesday so we bought a bottle of wine from the bar, girl who served me was very helpful and had a good conversation. After we downed the wine we went onto the cocktails! Pornstar martinis 2 for 1 are to die for. They tasted amazing. The Christmas decorations and lights at the windows made the place feel so welcoming and cosy. Really enjoyed my time here. You'll defiantly be seeing us again

I recently hosted nearly 50 business people at our Christmas Event am so pleased we chose The Slug and Lettuce Beckenham!Justine, Kat and their team were very accommodating at all stages: Planning, during and after the event.The food was excellent and they were able to cater for vegetarians and also a member of my network who has an intolerance to dairy and gluten based food.Very friendly and helpful staff. well maintained and pleasant enough place but the 'Food' is bland, i guess if you have suppressed taste buds then its ok but for me it all too generic and not personal enough. Staff need training, i would be surprised if they knew what day of the week it was, so be prepared to drill home any questions you have, but on the flip side it is cheap enough, but it is located in an area with stiff competition and unless your running low on the cash, best to avoid as many better things for you're palette close by.

Decor is lovely, ample seating and tables. Varied menu, chap who took our order was lovely but left an item off. However other member of staff blonde woman, when one of our party said something was in the glass of wine. Said don't say it out loud and it's only from the lemon. She had wine no lemon in glass. Changed that. Kids burger bun was stale. No straw brought initially with kids drink. Onion rings didn't turn up. Same woman checked order and said they weren't on order. But I've ordered them. Her attitude was one of she was right and as a customer you shouldn't bring it to her attention. I suggest she goes on a customers service course. Having spent over 50.00 In there. Not best pleased. The rest of our parties meal was good. I won't be in too much of a hurry to go there again. Soured what had been a good day before that with my daughter purchasing her wedding dress! X

We often pop in here for a Sunday meal with our family of 4 adults and 2 children. The food is better than McDonalds but not hugely. The usual pub fare fish and chips, open chicken pie, steak and great children's menu. All prices are reasonable and kids often eat free. They also do 2 for 1 desserts and cocktails all day long. It was renovated a couple of years ago so it looks modern and has some comfy American looking booths. The service is always good, I have never had to wait for a table or our food too long. They play nice music. I understand that at night time it's definitely not a family place but we have never been there after 7pm so I can't comment on that. I have seen that they do have bouncers there at night.The whole place is clean and modern. My whole family enjoys going there.

每次来这边喝酒都是因为TEAM DRINK， 离公司非常近，而且就在LONDON BRIDGE附近。里面的酒种类很多，音乐相对不是特别吵，而且酒吧设计特别英式。还蛮喜欢的。

Went for drinks, rude staff, intolerable bouncers, cheap cocktails. If you want a decent night out in Beckenham there are far superior places to visit. Don't bother!

We went on Monday night as they have an offer of half price meals on Mondays. The place was moderately busy the service we got was excellent, the food was very good for the price we paid. We will be going their again.

I've been to this pub a few times - it's reasonably priced and the floor to ceiling windows at front are a nice touch. However, it can get very noisy.

After giving Croydon slug and lettuce a bad review last week ,I'm delighted to give this one 5 stars!It's Sunday night on a bank holiday and its quite busy .We sit down and the duty manager ( I think ) came over and is giving table service when time allows. Also picked up on the table needing a wipe .Very friendly staff nothing seems to much trouble .Deffo work a visit Thank you guys

I love this place! Good food, fun atmosphere and friendly staff. I love that they have healthy, low carb options and sides however they did take the chicken skewers off the menu which I was bummed about :( Overall an awesome eat!

Came in on Monday morning with my family sat on a table of 4 by the front. There was one waitress who i could see doing all the work, we looked at the menu and let the lady know we were ready to order. She told us she will be with us in just a moment. We waited and she came, she tried to take our order when a lady from the table next to us cut her off and started complaining that she had been there for 20 minutes and swearing profusely. The waitress apologised and asked the lady to calm down as she will take her order to keep her happy. She also apologised to us about the situation. Such a lovely girl. she handled the situation very well didn't loose we temper or argue back. Even though the lady was rude to her she still kept her that smile and made sure the table and my table was alright. We were there for over an hour and it got really busy at one point, I could see her and another lady running around working very hard to keep all the customers happy! They truly care about their jobs and they show it. Not going to lie Monday's are very demanding as the whole place is very packed but they tried there absolute best. Very proud of you young ladies! Keep the hard work up!

Great choice of meals and very reasonable prices. Excellent food and good service.Will definitely be back.
