Lovely food and even though it was busy we didn't have to wait too long. Highly recommend the burgers and mixed grills

Very good service from the team here at singing chocker. Me and my partner ordered mixed grills and they were absolutely fantastic. Chicken wasn’t dry one bit! The meat was very juicy and if your like us and enjoy a runny yolk on your egg then here is the place you need to be! For dessert we ordered a biscoff cheese cake and it blew my taste buds with such flavour! Would definitely recommend coming here to everyone and we will definitely be coming back

Called in this afternoon for a meal and drink with Family, Emma was absolutely lovely treated us with the up most respect made sure everything was ok with the meal and did ask if there were anything else we needed throughout our visit she was very polite and friendly, i would recommend a visit to flaming grill; lovely staff, gorgeous food and welcoming atmosphere it really was a nice day out the staff couldn't do more to help, Thank you 😊

This was our first visit to the Singing Chocker. We were served by Emma. The food served was hot and well cooked. The venue was clean and tidy. The only down side was that it was not very warm.

Went for a lunch today (Monday) and got the car registered on the way into the restaurant. I had to ask where we could sit, as we took my dog with us. Emma was dealing with a customer but acknowledged me waiting to ask a quick question at the bar. She advised me the area where to sit. We sat at table in the dog friendly area, and we ordered at the bar instead of using the app. The food was good, the temperature of the food was also good as served on skillets. First time I have been with family and will certainly return. The only downside was the venue was chilly inside but apart from that will be happy to eat there again.

Great food cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and our server Paula was so friendly and we were able to have a laugh with her. One thing to note, Remember to input your reg plate on entering the pub.

We had an enjoyable meal at the Singing Chocker, good company with our Son, Daughter-in-law, and Granddaughter. Good portions and reasonably priced. There were not a lot of staff on when we were there, so they muddled my granddaughters' starter and meal up a little but apologised for the wait. Otherwise, there is plenty of room, and you have to log your vehicle registration into their car park log in system. Reasonably priced would return.

First time visiting the Singing Chocker. Abundance of parking. Just make sure you enter your reg number into the parking machine located inside the pub, or you may incur a fine. Friendly, helpful service. Great choice of meals on the menu. We ordered the nachos, chicken, onion rings, share plater, which was plentifull, great value for money, and tasty. Child, disabled and dog friendly. I have only given 3 stars for the atmosphere as it was 2pm on a Monday when we visited, so expectantly quiet.

Great service, the food is disgusting. No seasoning or taste to any food. Sure its an alright place for drinking but unless you've had 10 pints avoid the food. Microwaves in there must feel bad for the "food" coming out.

Came for a birthday meal. Food was all really nice and service was amazing. Only issue was one of the drinks we had was a tea and it quite bad. This was quickly resolved by a young staff member though who made another one which was much better so no complaints here.

A fantastic venue for our grandsons 21st birthday. From a family big fussy eaters there was something for everyone. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, even a hyper 2 year old. Thank you to the chef the meals were all perfect. We will be back soon

My last review I gave was 2 stars due mainly to the huge wait when the place was half full. It was the opposite experience today: Sunday 3pm and it was very busy. We were lucky to get a table but managed. We heard that the food would take around 40min but decided to stay. It arrived after about 20 min and was decent. The staff were pleasant throughout and when the burger was missing some items, they were brought without fuss and promptly. Would recommend.

Really good prices and the food was delicious. Family friendly and dog friendly. A really lovely pub.

Absolute dog crap food was terrible and made me sick, the place wasn’t that busy and it took over hour for the food to arrive, not that it mattered it was truly disgusting. Will never go again !!

Visted last night for a meal with my mum & baby. The food was lovely, came out red hot & tasted good. Puddings were also very tasty. I must say, the best thing about this place is the staff though. All staff were chatty, friendly and approachable. Particularly Katie, who went above and beyond - she was friendly and bubbly, chatting to every table, making sure their experience was pleasant and clearing tables and tidying as soon as people left! She didn't stop and looked throughly happy throughout! My little boy was crying at the table and she helped entertain him, talking to him when she walked past, making him smile and brought him some books over to borrow. She even read one to him so we could order our food & eat without him screaming. She's a real asset to this place and we look forward to returning. She made what could have been a very stressful meal out, very good.

Myself and my daughter visited the singing chocker on 14/1/25 . We had a great meal ( all hot ) . We had our grandson with us who is 10 months old . He was crying a little bit so the lovely waitress Katie came over with some books to occupy him . Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her , she was very happy , smiling and accommodating . I had a bad experience 2 years ago at singing chocker when our steaks came out literally burnt to a crisp when I asked for it med rare . We thought we’d give it another go and I’m so glad we did . Well defo be returning soon . I’ve knocked 1 point off for only having 1 bar staff behind the bar .

Been refurbished since my last visit. So much cleaner and staff more attentive.

Been coming here for years you can't beat a steak from here wait time for food is 20-30 minutes is never over a hour toilets are usually clean and In good condition and staff are always helpful

We came for my father's 20th wedding anniversary and the food and service was brilliant. I had the steak flat bread and the steak melted in your mouth. All of the servers were happy to help with a smile on their faces even though it was extremely busy.

Christmas Day meal. Overpriced, badly cooked low quality food. I can’t fault the serving staff. They were up against it. They did well. The atmosphere for a Christmas Day wasn’t great. No Christmas atmosphere at all. It felt like a Wetherspoons on Wednesday afternoon. The food would have been acceptable if it was £10 a head. But the child’s Christmas dinner was £25. It was 5 cucumber sticks, 4 carrot sticks and a spoon of salsa to start. 5 chicken nuggets, small portion of under cooked frozen chips and a spoonful of beans. Dessert was supposed to be 2 scoops of vanilla icecream. But they apparently ran out. Even though all Xmas day food had to be pre ordered weeks in advance. So we had strawberry. It tasted terrible. Imagine a low budget supermarkets unbranded cheapest ice cream. All that. For £25. It was literally the same as any other place would be £6.99. I understand the prices will be inflated for Xmas. I just hope they used the extra to pay the staff. My steak (about 6oz rump) was just grey. Cooked too long on too low a heat. Was tough and fatty. Came with chips. That coupled with a weird offcuts of ham hock starter cost £50. Ow and the cheap ice cream too. One of the desserts was actually nice. It was obviously pre made bought it. The Xmas dinner option was turkey with trimmings. In fairness this was a huge plateful and was mediocre. So that a plus. Only the pigs in blankets were terrible. Grey skinny sausage wrapped in undercooked pink fatty bacon. Nothing about any of the food felt Christmasy or special. Apart from the price. 3 adults and 1 child ate from the Xmas menu plus 3 drinks. Total was just short of £200. I knew the price upfront. Was happy enough. Paying a premium for the day. I just expected a good meal. I did not complain on the day. I did not think it would be fair on the service staff. They were not at fault and really did not need the hassle.

Me and my partner came in for some lunch on Monday afternoon and the service was fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for anything more from the staff (especially Emma). The food was also lovely and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

Kids meal chicken fillet was really hard and dry.. They did replace it... and why can't you just get half a rack of ribs. It's a menu to keep your kids hungry and craving for sugar and encourage adults to over spend and eat more with no option for a smaller rib portion.

Had a lovely time even on a quieter day! Good and service were wonderful, and Paula was an absolute delight, made sure we were well looked-afte. Would recommend to anyone!

Order 2 BBQ stacks burgers smallest bit of beef on them meant to be brisket burnt ends but was slow cooked beef bacon was missing brought it out separately kids stake was pure rare order medium rare fish chips was like was frozen microwave up. Food was like it bought from Iceland was cheap nasty. I use to come last year all time was banging last year food amazing. In my eyes gone down hill.

We came for breakfast, we didn’t realise it was breakfast with Santa and they were fully booked but the team were able to find us a table straight away. All the staff were friendly and accommodating!

Came early today for a breakfast as we didn't know if it did breakfasts or not. It was santa day and we had not booked but the staff made us feel welcome and cooked us a 5 star Breakfast Lovely staff and lovely food, thank you for welcoming us. Ps you should open for breakfasts as it was lovely and better than the Harvester

Exceptional service!!! What a lovely place this has turned in to. Not been for years but the new style really suits and the menu is lovely plus offers. Well worth a visit. Booked for groups in for two more visits.

Had a boneless chicken starter followed by the cheesy bbq stack burger. Very prompt and piping hot. Excellent quality for the money, fantastic service from Emma. All highly recommended 👌

Excellent service from Andy & Paula and lovely atmosphere. Food is good value for money. The Christmas food was well presented. I opted for my usual Lasagne which was a little dry on this occasion but serving 30+ people at once is no easy feat . Would definitely visit again .

A large group of us met for our Christmas party at the Singing Chocker, Castleford. We had a fab evening! Lovely atmosphere, food was excellent (I had steak which was cooked perfectly) but a special shout out to Andy & Paula who looked after us and served us cheerfully all through the evening.

The food was very much as you would expect in these places. I had a pint of Coors which cost £4.90, which is very expensive. However my wife had 1\2 of lemonade which cost a staggering £3.85.

Great service, lovely food, good value and accept blue light card also. Been done up since we visited last time as well, will be coming again after shopping at the outlet again!

Another Green King venue visited. The venue operates a vehicle registration system on entry (saves getting a penalty charge notice), and it was fairly busy. Service was quick and friendly and waited around 15 minutes for the food. The venue was lively, mostly with families and a party or two. Big screens everywhere you look, so if you're a sports fan, then you're not likely to miss much! One bonus is you can talk without shouting across the table, so for me, the background noise of others chatting was great. If there was any music, I don't recall hearing it! 10/10 I had the mixed grill, and my partner had the gammon. Meals were hot and tasty. My only grumble was that the steak cut looked a little odd and was difficult to chew and cut, only managed just over half, the stringy pieces I left on the plate.. even using a steak knife it was tough going. Finally, the battered onion ring wasn't crispy... battered onion rings have to havecthat crunch.. no crunch. 8/10 Would I go again? Yes, but not for a mixed grill. I love my steak, and I was a little disappointed I couldn't leave an empty plate.

This was the most memorable night for me as it was my 80th birthday we all had the best welcome from the staff.

We went to the singing chocker for lunch as a family, the food is very reasonably priced and is very good. The staff are very efficient and look after their customers very well. The menu is pretty much traditional with all the usual favourites, but the ice cream is vegan and is quite frankly horrible. I do not disagree with having a vegan option for anything, but real ice cream should be the first choice on the menu. We will definitely visit the singing chocker again but the menu needs amendment.

Lamb Kofta Flatbread was particularly good. Clean facilities and prompt service.

Not bad feel sorry for the landlady's other half though, she's a tyrant. All joking aside, good boozer, good food, good crack. Taken the kids in and they are great. Lovely spot.

I was away with work so looking for a pub walking distance to my hotel. Popped in for the football and I was not disappointed. They serve a decent pint of Guinness and had plenty of screens showing both the games that were on. I did not eat so can’t comment on the food. The staff we friendly.

We don't like the oven chips the chips were rock hard. The fish was over cooked and the bread just fell to pieces and it was Luke warm meal . They offered us another meal but we was put off with the meal. And they offered us a pudding but we didn't want a microwave pudding.

Visited the Singing Chocker on a Friday night, In spite of being Busy Paula went to trouble of finding us a table that suited us. We ordered food and drink at bar and didn't have to wait too long before meals arrived. We were waited on by Kerry who got everything right ,made sure we had correct cutlery and sauces napkins etc. Food was good and Kerry called back to see if it was to our liking. The place is bright with good staff and Atmosphere. We visit quite often and have booked for Christmas day Thank you Paula and Kerry for good experience See you soon Mike Brown
