I ordered a takeaway and had ask for salads with my meal to go with the chicken tikka dry mains but when paying I was shock at the price I payed for a small bag of salad it is well over priced at £3.50 for a very small bag this is a rip off I would check before you order this item.

Portions seem smaller, brought out wrong meal for one of us, and took over 10mins to bring correct one. The staff don't seem as happy now as they used to, mostly new staff. Will try again as it may have just been a bad night for them.

Ordered takeaway turned up cold the keema naan bread had a piece of meat the size of a 5op the only good thing it turned up early very poor not concentrating who ever is cooking this needs educating in how to cook food properly for its the paying customer who suffers spoilt food waste of money never again thumbs down beware people go eleswhere.

WORST CURRY EVER! I visited here with a large group, and it was awful! We arrived at 6.30pm and received our food at 9.00pm. I understand there is a long wait for a large group, but the service was non existent. We were served papadums, but then left with no service / offer of drink. I completely understand a restaurant wanting to make up for being slow by offering more drinks, but we received none of that. When the food did show it was nothing special. I found the service staff quite rude, and like we were an inconvenience. This restaurant is owned by a cousin who owns Marco Polo in Wickford. My advice would be to go there! Marco Polo is 100% better, and I wish we had gone there! Also important to note, they do not serve beer on tap. An awful place, which I will definitely never return to! Marco Polo Wickford know how to treat a customer and the food is way better!

Very nice food, very nice people… I have been eating Indian for years but some how these guys always seem to be the best of the best no matter where I go… I even considered getting a job there to find out how they get their korma to taste so good 😋

Just received a lovely meal delivered everything had lots of flavour and the chicken was juicy not dry food was still hot and a quick delivery time 5 star from me.

Nothing special. The curries are not exceptional. It's up to you to try

Went for a birthday meal with freinds it was busy in there an felt too cramped the tables are so close together, waited nearly an hour an a half for food an kept asking if we wanted more drinks. Ather people were complaining about the wait for food. The food is very good cannot fault it, but they need to concerntrate on the customers in the restarant rather than the constant deliverys that were going out, probably would have got it quicker if we ordered takaway. This was the second time there that its happened an our last as its not exceptable to wait that long

We went to Simla with friends after not seeing them for two years. The restaurant soon filled up and was very busy. The food delivery was very rushed and had the food in front of us before we had any plates and had to ask for them. We had barely finished our main course and the bill was put in the table without us asking for it, and told they needed the table. I asked if we could finish our drinks first before they threw us out. They are clearly not leaving enough time in between bookings and trying to cram in as many people as possible. I’ve never ever experienced this before and will consider going back,

Not great food rice was dry and my children korma wasn't good got ripped off with the drinks 4 people with set menu 32 pounds a head don't get me wrong we did have a nice time until the bill came in at over£300 and they wouldn't let us keep the bill if you go there just be careful unfortunately I don't like getting ripped off

Had a chicken balti and it was absolutely first class.

Quite simply the best Indian around for me good food and staff are always polite if you like Indian food you can't go wrong at Simla

If I could read the menu I would order you enlarge it and its fussy but OK for people that order regularly

We had a Lovely evening at Simla on Saturday 12th June 2021. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive but not over powering. Dinner for 4 with starters, mains and drinks was really well priced as well. I'm firmly stuck in the Chicken Korma corner.. nothing to spicy for me.. that said the Korma was one of the best I've had. We will be back for sure.

Good service, nice atmosphere ( diffuse light with spot focus on every table, background noise acceptable) and I loved the food.

I have been going to Simla for over 30 years and love the food and service-so as a treat for a special occasion I phoned them at 4-45 pm last Saturday,after a while someone answered Yes?! I said is that Simla? He said you must phone later! I said that I wanted to order some food for delivery,he said phone later we are not open!Taken aback a bit I phoned at 5-05pm (they take orders from 5 I found out on their website)he answered by picking up a d putting the phone down! I redialled and he said yes?! I said did you put the phone down just now on me? He said you must phone later! I said listen here I’ve been coming to your restaurant for 30 years-he butted in-I do not care you must phone later we are busy! And put the phone down.£50 order lost and long term customers lost,never known treatment in retail like it.

Food as always was delicious. Only complaint was no offer of desserts or coffees/teas even though it was over 30 minutes before closing time.

This is local for a family member so we have eaten here many times, food is really good, restaurant is very clean and modern, staff very helpful and friendly

Simla food and service always excellent but on entering the restaurant last night I was overwhelmed by the amount of people in there. We were a table of four and the tables next to me were almost touching! There.was two tables of young people total 10 who were clearly all together! They left and another lot came in together total 9 people! The waiter had masks but were wearing them under their chins. People have said I should report them but I don’t want to see a local business in any more trouble than they already are! So perhaps they will sort out this situation and follow the social distancing rules.

Warm cosy atmosphere. Staff were efficient, without being in your face. Lovely meal too

We love this little Gem in hullbridge, we were back as soon we were able on 4/7/20 Food and service always fabulous. Mostly have booths here so social distanced away from others.

Wife went there to pick our takeaway up on the menu it states 20% off when collected and over £15 no they took £2 off the bill petty I k ow but I won't be returning

Visiting for a midweek meal with my partner. Although I was nervous eating out the first time after lockdown eased I was delighted by the whole experience. I had the spiced salmon shaslick and it was amazing, as was my partners lamb dish. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat and the prices were really reasonable too.

They have Banquet Days on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday with a fixed price and choice from a restricted menu. Lovely food and very good value.

Excellent meal with great service

6 friends had an evening at the Simla seeing Sal the Elvis Tribute. He was fabulous, and a very nice friendly man too! We had a great evening, food was lovely as usual, was a set menu £32 per head. Would highly recommend it! Need to book in advance.

Went here rather than getting a takeaway, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. The staff were extremely polite and tentative. Food was served swiftly and were nice large portions washed down with a lovely traditional beer

Lovely evening lovely tasty food

Was looked after by an amazing Lady called Michelle who had a great sense of humour and was very patient. The atmosphere was amazing so will have to come back to experience this place in the daytime. Recommend if you want a romantic evening

Been to this restaurant some time ago & was lovely so ordered a takeaway £36 for three of us & two had chicken korma, turned up after around 45 mins & Nan bread was under cooked & cold like it had not even been heated as bag cold too! Main food was ok but chicken shashlik like a chicken tikka, that’s been warmed up with few half cooked onions & peppers! Sorry very disappointed ☹️

Simla Tandoori is a very welcoming and comfortable restaurant.

Visited here on Saturday evening for the first time whilst visiting family, it has a friendly relaxed atmosphere, the food was of a high standard and reasonably priced will defiantly go back when next in the area 👍

Booked the Simla as somewhere to eat before going to the Smugglers Den (virtually next door) and would definitely go again. Really lovely food. Service good without being intrusive.

Excellent food and good service. Never had a bad meal in here. The flavours are amazing! Edit: Came with a large group and overcharged £50 and apparently it was a mistake.. I doubt we were overcharged by mistake by £50 when we simply added the meals up and it came to much much cheaper. A little bit disappointed as it was played off as a mistake but clearly they were attempting to take more than we actually spent. Such a shame as I have had quite a few nice meals here.

Can honestly say keep meaning to go here as heard good reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Went last night with friends, Very attentive and food fabulous. Having allergies can sometimes cause me issues but last nights food was amazing. Definitely be back soon only wish we hadn’t left it so long. Well done Simla

Arrived at 7pm .. very warm inside.. very cold outside.. warm inside...party had main meal, onion Bargee, garlic bread and soft drinks.. £50.00 No complaints..have been to previously and will go again.

Good food fantastic service food cooked fresh and pipping hot very tasty and a huge range on memu. Only downside drinks quite expensive when spending quite a few hours there

Went there for an anniversary meal, 5 people including 2 who are not keen on Indian Food. But after some advice from the staff who treat everyone there like royalty, we all ate and the food and service was second to none, and we have all eaten this type food all over the world.

Haven't been down this way before but glad we came. Warm welcome as soon as we got in there and all the staff were friendly and chatty throughout. The food was really good, I went for the chefs special/recommendation, bengal something (can't remember the name). Nice flavours and spices. Prices were relatively standard in comparison to other indian restaurants.
