I love this pub so much. Beautiful beer garden, super friendly staff, good food and a decent enough beer line up. We moved to Bishops Cleeve just over a week ago and have already popped in 3 times. Only improvement I would make it Asahi on tap...!

Food is good value for money. Staff was friendly.. Could see they was slightly busy.. Drinks was a little pricey but i guess that's todays inflation

left after being told we was unable to return by the manager due to my self and my brother (under 15) being told to come of the bouncy castle with younger siblings manager was extremely rude and argued back to my 13 year old brother then told us we were banned! extremely poor customer service and no reason to be banned we caused no disturbance and the rules for the bouncy castle state under 15 also there were no other children on there other than my younger siblings!!!!!🤬🤬😡😡😡

First visit for a few years. Lovely freshly-prepared prawn and Marie rose filled baked potato and salad. Generous portion and very tasty. Friend had the liver and bacon - also very good. Quick email response to a question about access, which was easy on a zimmer. Friendly staff. Will be back.

Excellent value for money, a really tasty steak with no skimping on the accompanying chips, onion rings, mushrooms and tomato. In these difficult times all credit to those who go out of their way to provide good service and value.

Good simple food done well. Very tasty, well cooked and huge portions... The staff are very attentive and polite. The choice of drinks is extensive. We live locally and genuinely recommend this place.

Brought the family for a relaxed late afternoon Sunday lunch. It’s quieter later on (serves till 6:30) and I was reminded how great this place is. All fresh, home cooked, even the sweets. Note to self to come more often.

As always at this pub the food, including choice and quality was excellent and the atmosphere is what you hope for in a village pub. A brilliant choice for a get together

Booked a table in advanced to celebrate a birthday. Once our food order was placed it took 60mins before our food arrived. The batter on the fish was a bit stodgy.

Found this pub of the main route into Cheltenham . Well sign posted. Cosy and welcoming fire. mixed tables and seating areas. Enjoyed the Homemade Faggots(local butchers) with Mash and peas. Generous portion of South fried Chicken Panini with chips, coleslaw & salad . Hot and very tasty . Nice choice of beers and soft drinks. Noticed outside seating and tables, will return when the sun is out! Friendly staff. Very clean toilets.

Excellent food at the shutters, Sunday Roast was amazing, as was the other choices our table made. Slightly longer wait for the food than expected but it was worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back

We had the grandchildren visiting for bank holiday and so I was looking for a suitable pub to have lunch at. I knew the Shutters has a nice garden and so we went there. What a bonus to find a bouncy castle. The children loved it which, of course, meant that we adults had a good time. The children also enjoyed their meal from the children's menu while I really loved my lamb burger.

Great Sunday roast. Had to wait a while for it but the food was good & a nice big portion on the plate. Definitely recommend the vegetarian option. My husband really enjoyed his mixed meat roast too.

Visited again for Sunday lunch - 8 of us in total and happy to see we could have a Sunday dinner or select from the vast menu. Eight happy diners, eight great meals and very full tummies. No one could fault their meals and if we were local we would be regulars!

Great little pub lovely selection of drinks nice garden great for the kids to go off and play whilst we had drinks in the lovely sunny garden, we didn’t eat but the menu looked good offering a mix of traditional and more modern bites must try the food a good first experience

Amazing duck and prawn cocktail starters. Beautiful delicious juicy homemade burgers for main. All food was excellent. Great service, nice staff, really nice location sat eating outside on the heated patio. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a really delicious Sunday lunch here today Very generous portions of meat on the roast, roast potatoes crisp and piping hot and my rump steak was cooked to perfection. My 93 year old mother-in-law had the baked camambert as her main and it was no trouble when she wanted roast potatoes to accompany it. Yes it was busy, a sign of the restaurants popularity, but we were kept up to date as to when our meals would be served. We'll worth the wait, would definitely recommend.

Went to the Shutters Inn for a family 65th birthday today, and was very pleased with the food and value for money. Three of us had the roast dinners with all the meats, and the portion sizes were as large as expected! Those who had desserts were very pleased, and the banoffee pie went down a treat. Only things to be picky about, and this is maybe pretty minor, was that the Shutters is very popular. As such, it felt a bit crowded/noisy inside (staff never stopped and were obviously doing their best), and outside, it was not possible to park that near. In a very small village, having such a popular venue obviously causes some issues.

Pros- lovely staff, nice atmosphere, lots of places to sit and good decor. The food is also delicious I had the vegetarian lasagne and garlic bread which was 10/10! Cons- wish they did more vegan options I think there was only one on the menu when I visited

1st visit very nice country pub service was good all in all a very nice roast lunch plenty of vegetables which was nice meat tender a little over cooked for me my only dislike was not piping hot

Good food but average service and a looong wait for food. Ordered before our friends whose food arrived 20 minutes before ours which eventually arrived an hour after ordering. Didn’t appear very busy so suspect short of staff in kitchens. We were told 30-40 minutes when ordering No overall concern about the long wait by the staff, one came out after 45 minutes asking what we wanted to go with the kids meals but nothing more. Also not asked how our food was so general disinterest and difficult to find a reason to tip.

Just had a Christmas meal for eighteen people. Food was outstanding. Service was brilliant. Cannot thank the staff enough for making a great night for all of us.

Was a special occasion spoilt by a wait of 1 hour 20 mins for our food. A larger party booked in after ours was served first as they had pre-ordered. Had to chase up for our order to be taken and then now real apology...

The food isn't fancy. I had the veggie chilli and it was a mishmash of different veg. Like what I make at home when I'm trying to use things up. It came with chips and garlic bread, again not exactly in keeping with a mexican dish. However, the chips were GLORIOUS nice and big. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. And as a coeliac it's nice to have garlic bread, so happy to have both as an option! The pints were a good price and because we went at lunch the price of the food was very reasonable, so you don't really expect it to be posh nosh. As a coeliac I ate here safely and would reccomend it as the wait staff and chef are clearly very knowledgeable about this condition. Wait staff are lovely. As mentioned in prior reviews food takes a while to come out, so don't come here if you're in a rush or getting hangry (maybe have some crisps if you're the latter to tide you over) but we were on holiday and were quite happy to drink whilst we waited. All in all we were happy with the trip and would definitely go again.

I was part of a birthday celebration here. On arrival we were seated and had our pre-orders confirmed. Then we were all served our drinks. Shortly after, we were informed that they were behind on their orders and needed to catch up and they shouldn’t be too long. We agreed. My food turned up 1hour and 20 minutes after taking my seat. I’m glad none of us ordered starters. I had the chicken breast wrapped in bacon off the Sunday roast menu. Unfortunately, the chicken was the most dried out thing I have ever eaten and the surrounding bacon was brown and due to its being in oven too long. I didn’t send it back as didn’t want to wait any longer to eat. The vegetables were fine as were the polite and very busy staff we dealt with. The Inn itself was very clean and tidy and Covid safe in my opinion. Enjoyed my day with family and the ambience…….just not the food so much.

Lovely Sunday Roast. Full to the brim and lovely staff. Will 100% be back. The food was exactly what you want when craving a proper Sunday roast. The puddings were also incredible.

Visited for Sunday lunch. 4/5 of us had Sunday roast and 1/5 chose breaded plaice from the weekday menu which staff kindly allowed. Roast dinners were substantial and delicious, with plenty of beautifully cooked meat and nicely prepared and presented vegetables - some root veg pre-plated with the meat with green veg provided separately in a bowl. Plaice meal was also very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good Covid precautions very evident though the open-window ventilation in the main dining room made it a little chilly, so worth taking an extra layer if you feel the cold. Overall, a very good meal with very good service.

Not entirely their fault - long lockdown, a bank holiday weekend, they were run off their feet but we waited nearly an hour for our food. We had the roast pork - there was a generous amount of food which was mostly good. The roast potatoes were not crunchy and only just cooked and the stuffing was cheap packet stuff. Overall the standard was good and reasonable value for money. I would happily go back when they are less busy.

Very easy to book online, via the app. Met by a very charming young lady who confirmed my order. Ordered Chicken and Beef Sunday roast. I heard the food was great, and it still exceeded my expectations. Portion sizes were extremely generous. Fabulous meals.

Just had a Lockdown Takeaway Sunday Lunch, absolutely fabulous.Succulent roast beef and delicious lamb complete with all the trimmings. We are Shutters regulars and are delighted to see that they have risen to the challenge of the latest lock down and wish them every success.

Take away Gluten free fish and chips last night - gorgeous! Highlight of another week of lockdown. Same high standard as when the pub is open. Can’t wait to get back in there.

Another lovely meal at lunch time. We had game pie and toad in the hole, both great quality food and decent portions. We will keep coming back.

Popped in for sunday roast with a couple of friends. The food was delicious. I chose the vegetarian choice and it really was lovely. I find it difficult to find a really tasty Sunday roast when eating out. Theres always something missing or the roasters are 'fried". Yorkies made from frozen etc. I could not fault this meal. It was good quality homemade fresh food. I would definitely recommend this pub for a lovely lazy Sunday meet up.

We went for lunch on Saturday and it was fantastic. Great selection of meals on the menu, portion sizes were generous and the food was lovely. Will definitely be coming back!

Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos al llegar. Joe (¡creo que ese era su nombre!) Tomó nuestro pedido de bebidas y luego nuestro pedido de comida. Tuve la ensalada de pato como entrante y, para ser sincero, fue el mejor entrante que he tenido. Fue divino. Mi esposo tomó un cóctel de gambas y pensó que había alrededor de 1/2 kilo de gambas, dijo que era delicioso, y lo siguió con pastel de pescado, que recibió elogios igualmente buenos. Tuve la hamburguesa de bistec con queso brie como plato principal, y eso también estaba delicioso. No pude terminarlo, pero solo porque estaba totalmente lleno. Comida absolutamente deliciosa y bien atendida por Joe. Es una pena que estuviéramos en nuestras vacaciones, ya que nos ENCANTARÍA que este fuera nuestro local. Muy impresionado y muy recomendado.

Reservamos para el almuerzo del domingo ya que las críticas parecían buenas. Esperamos casi una hora a que llegara nuestra comida. Parecía muy poco interesante y sabía muy suave. La carne parecía provenir de un rollo de alguna descripción y no de un trozo de carne. Las patatas duras, las verduras estaban empapadas y demasiado cocidas. Con casi catorce libras por cabeza, ciertamente no era una buena relación. No lo recomendaría por las razones indicadas.

Fue la primera vez que fui al Shutters Inn y no será la última. La primera vez que salimos a comer durante estas circunstancias tan extrañas puede ser nervioso. El pub estaba muy equipado para la higiene y el distanciamiento social. No reservamos, pero tuvimos la suerte de conseguir una mesa en el restaurante parr. yo soyVegeterian y la comida me dejaron boquiabierto. Tuve la hamburguesa y estaba delicioso. Raciones enormes, pero eso no nos impidió tener postres que nuevamente sabían tan bien. Tuve el pastel de banoffi que mi compañero tenía el crumble. Estábamos visitando a familiares por primera vez en esta zona. Teníamos que recomendar The Shutters Inn y no me decepcionó. Todos comimos el asado estándar de los domingos, 3 corderos y 1 ternera y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que la comida era excelente. Perfectamente cocinado, porciones generosas, bien presentado, personal amable y excelente relación calidad-precio. Los agradables jardines eran una buena manera de dejar que la comida se dijera antes de aceptar que estábamos llenos para el postre.No dudaremos en transmitir la recomendación y también volver cuando estemos en la zona.

Salí de la M 5 para encontrar un pub de campo y no me decepcionó.Elegimos rosbif. Esto fue de gran valor con patatas asadas, guisantes y puerros, queso de coliflor, col lombarda y pudín de Yorkshire con una porción de verduras. Servicio rápido muy sabroso y educado. Excelentes cervezas de barril también, aunque no estoy seguro de por qué alguien elegiría el bar Doom extra frío.Definitivamente vale la pena pasar por aquí.

Brilliant as always. We visit The Shutters as often as possible. Took my Mum there yesterday and once again it was perfect. Lovely Shepherds pie for Mum, gluten free. Booked a table for 14 people for Sunday lunch to celebrate my mums 70th birthday. I emailed in the enquiry and received a prompt and very friendly response. I was able to pre-order our meals and they were served quickly and piping hot. It is no exaggeration to say that the roast was the best I’ve ever had! The lamb was sublime and there was so much food I struggled to finish it. Everyone else commented on how good their meals were too. The staff were really friendly, and they went to a great effort to ensure that the table looked nice in preparation for my mums birthday. The venue is lovely and has a great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back and recommend it to anyone. Thank you!

We have eaten at The Shutters many times and there is a great selection of well cooked food of a really high standard. Lovely atmosphere for a drink in the evening and peaceful outdoor space in the summer.Always very busy at the weekend and booking is necessary.Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar, meaning that its lovely just to pop in for a drink or a meal after walking the dog.Highly recommended.

Four of us went for lunch & all had different dishes.We each enjoyed our individual meals & they were good value for money.Nice to go somewhere unpretentious with good home style cooking.Great selection too.

Apareció para el almuerzo, buen menú y muy buena comida de pub. Un entorno agradable y servicio. PERO lamentablemente, la atmósfera se vio afectada por dos televisores montados en la pared que bombeaban el execrable servicio continuo de noticias de la BBC 24 felizmente con el sonido suprimido pero con los subtítulos automatizados funcionando. No hay necesidad de esto y no agrega nada al lugar. Si no le gusta comer sin la posibilidad de estas espantosas distracciones mediáticas en el rabillo del ojo, evite el área del Bar y solicite el restaurante.

A friend recommended lunch here. Didn’t know what to expect in such a quiet (albeit picturesque location) when 3 of us rocked up for lunch. Joe the Barman was a fantastic Front of house man. He made us feel so comfortable and at home in front of the roaring log fire as he willingly answered our questions. He didn’t give us ‘that look’ when we asked for tap water with ice and hot water with lemon. Frankly we teased him incessantly throughout our stay and he was an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. Joe Lash (as he is now known) is an absolute credit to the Shutters Inn. The food was also amazing. I ordered the veggie burger - again on a recommendation of a friend - 2 of us were not disappointed. It was tasty and filling. I struggled to eat it all but strangely found room for the Shutters Mess desert. Delicious.We would all totally recommend the Shutters Inn. The staff (Joe) the food and the ambience was fantastic. Will definitely visit again in the near future. Give it a go - you won’t be disappointed.

Had lunch today table for 5 people, we picked from the lighter lunch menu. The food was delicious, massive potion sizes, exceptional value, would highly recommend.

Pedimos, y luego esperamos aproximadamente 80 sí 80 minutos para tener nuestra comida, y cuando salió no valió la pena la espera.Sobre pollo cocido, y comida sin sabor suave.No me apresuraría a volver.Este lugar solía ser muy bueno, pero lamentablemente, la gerencia parece haberse rendido. Las oportunidades que tienen con un mercado tan cautivo son enormes, pero supongo que si te has rendido, no puedes aprovechar esas oportunidades.

Vine para un asado de los domingos pero fue fantástico, el servicio fue increíble y el personal era alegre y divertido. El personal mantuvo una sonrisa en nuestras caras toda la noche. Creo que dos miembros del personal se llamaron George y Tom, sus personalidades alegraron la tarde. La carne era extremadamente tierna y encantadora. Definitivamente volvería de nuevo.

Called in for lunch with our daughter and grandchildren. The service was second to none. The food beautifully prepared and presented. Top marks.

We met some friends there, we had a meal , which was excellent ,the landlord and lady very good. Beer good and fair price food good choice. Nice seating out area. For those with a camper van /motorhome see brit stops. This was an excellent place to stay will be back.

Today is the first time I've ever eaten at The Shutters. With friends, we decided to go for Sunday roast. The menu looked so appealing that we ended up having 3 courses - although not sure where we put it!! The staff were very friendky, the atmosphere in the pub was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely superb! You can tell by the quality of the food that everything is cooked fresh - I don't think anything came out the freezer! It was all to a very high standard. We all came away very impressed and planning out next visit. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending The Shutters for either a drink or a meal. Thanks to all the staff.

Used to go the The Shutters inn as a group many years ago so when hubby suggested lunch out we decided to try it again. On arrival there was no one serving in the bar and we had to wait 10 minutes before being acknowledged and told we could be seated in the restaurant. Service was then a bit speedier. We both chose off the light bites menu and could not fault the food in the slightest. Very tasty and just the right amount for lunch, will definitely return with the rest of the family.

Went for a family meal with two young children; restaurant wasn’t overly busy but although there appeared to be 4/5 staff members it appeared only one lady was able to take your order which took about 15 minutes after we sat down; we ordered our food and my children got a little hangry shall we say when it hadnt arrived 20 minutes later; they did enjoy a run around outside; I chased the order and they did get the children’s food out within 5 minutes and the other two meals followed about 5 minutes after, I ordered two further drinks for the children and they again didn’t arrive and I had to ask a second time, the waitress was apologetic. We were then asked if we wanted desert which we said yes but no dessert menus were given to us, they took 3 plates away but left one sat there for the next hour, after a further ten minutes we helped ourselves to the menus and whilst the children and a family member played outside, I waited for a further 20 minutes to order dessert again I had to find someone and ask. Overall it was a nearly two hour meal, the children’s fish finger meals looked lovely and were huge portions, and both Sunday roast were very tasty. The desserts again were huge serving sizes, but unfortunately due to the slow service with young children I would not return to the shutters, it just made the whole experience quite stressful!

Four 5th cousins with 18th & 19th century links with nearby Woodmancote met here for Sunday lunch on 14th July. Their choice could not have been bettered! There was a wide selection on the menu including portion size, excellent but unobtrusive service, food cooked to perfection and all at a very reasonable price. Hopefully a reunion can be arranged in the not too distant future.

Brillante almuerzo de domingo con opción sin gluten que incluye pudines de Yorkshire con carne de res y coliflor y también sin gluten. Eso es tan inusual y realmente bienvenido. Grandes porciones y un personal amable.

Un pequeño y encantador hallazgo fuera del circuito turístico cerca de Tewkesbury. Sin embargo, aunque nuestra comida era buena, los tamaños de las porciones no coincidían con los precios. El chili con carne era precioso pero el pollo al curry le faltaba ponche. Podría hacer con un toque / patada de especias extra. El ambiente era bastante agradable, pero la comida de alguna manera lo decepcionó.

We enjoyed our visit here. The staff were friendly. There was a nice local village feel to the place. The menu offered pub grub classics as well as a few nice specials. Good portions and the food was tasty. We’d come again.

Vine aquí por última vez para el cumpleaños de mi madre y lo pasamos muy bien, así que pensé en volver a reservar. Fiesta de 10 para el almuerzo del domingo. No nos pidieron que hiciéramos un pedido anticipado, pero el lugar estaba lleno, así que probablemente hubiera sido una buena idea. Los almuerzos de los domingos fueron un poco fríos, con pudín de Yorkshire (aunque sí tuvimos un par más). Mi madre solo consiguió 1 papa y algunos vegetales blandos debajo de la carne. El bistec de mi hijo estaba recocido pero era comestible. No nos quedamos para el postre porque solo nos estaba tomando mucho tiempo para que nos sirvieran. Un poco decepcionante 2ª vez, así que no volveré.

A two course lunch for two should not take two hours even though my 94 year old father eats slowly!...... It was 30 minutes before we even got a drink. Although busy when we arrived @ 12.10 (Cheltenham week) it was much quieter by the time we eventually ordered from the regular lunch menu. Long wait for food, even longer wait to be cleared and offered desert menu. After waiting ages for someone to take our desert order I eventually had to out go to the bar to get attention. Final straw was we were overcharged £6.90: 2 main courses plus 2 deserts, instead of 2 course lunch. When pointed out it was corrected, but when we mentioned the disastrous service experience there wasn't even an apology. We won't be back.

We have just used this pub/restaurant for a club dinner for a group of 40 people. From the very first time we made contact we have been very impressed with the communication and helpfulness of the person we dealt with. The menu was adjusted to meet our needs, simple things like including tea and coffee without having to ask for it typified the way our event was handled. We have now had the dinner which confirmed that we had made a very good choice. The excellent room was very well prepared with flowers on the tables and laid out exactly to our table plans. The bar was well prepared to serve drinks quickly and efficiently. The food was exceptionally good, very well served and the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient. The whole event was also very good value for money. Well done the Shutters and its staff.

Found the pub due to the signs on the main road saying newly refurbished. It was a lovely find. Going into the pub it was clean and the resturant area tucked around the back was a lovely surprise. There is also an outside garden area for nice days.

Lovely pub with several eating areas. We ate in the restaurant part which was very spacious. The staff were all friendly and attentive and looked after us. We both ordered lasagne with french fries which was delicious to say the least and very generous. We have booked for Mother's Day now as the food was so good.

We came here for our Annual New Year lunch in January, and everthing was so good that it has been booked for next year already! We were first to arrive and the room looked lovely. There was a wood -burning stove and flowers on every table. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service for 43 of us was good. The three course meal was excellent with a good choice, though most people who chose roast beef were somewhat overwhelmed by the large Yorksire puddings! The pub provided three meal vouchers and a bottle of prosecco for our Charity raffle. We shall definitely go there again on our own.

Just really really friendly, down-to-earth place with helpful staff and well-made (quite big) portions of normal food, done with care. Really good for a drink too. Not one of those places which tries too hard and therefore gets it wrong; but a normal good pub. Well-kept pints, faggots, just the sort of thing.

A nice little restaurant with adequate space between tables which means you’re not on top of each other.

I'm not going to write a long review as all that needs saying is top food top service and a very impressed family all left full and happy . Thanks to all the staff it was perfect. Burger was huge .

Visité un domingo a mediodía para la cena de cumpleaños de mi madre. 4 generaciones de la misma familia, 8 adultos, 2 niños y 5 meses de edad. Cuando llamé para reservar la mesa, solicité una mesa para 10 y espacio para un cochecito. Me preguntaron si me importaba una mesa en el bar porque allí había más espacio que en el restaurante. No es un problema respondí. Llegó 15 minutos antes. Mostrado a la mesa y fue perfecto. Mesa grande y mucho espacio para el cochecito. Una camarera muy atenta, Becks, vino y tomó el pedido de bebidas. Cuando llegó el resto de la fiesta, Becks estaba allí tomando más pedidos de bebidas. Nos dejaron en nuestra cuenta para examinar el menú y chatear. Un joven camarero, lo siento, no recibió su nombre, tomó el pedido, 2 sopas, 2 cócteles de gambas, 2 camembert al horno, 3 champiñones al ajillo y 1 aceituna. Uno de los participantes preguntó si podían tener 2 carnes para el plato principal. El joven camarero no pestañeó en responder, sí, claro, no hay problema. 5 de mi grupo ordenaron 2 carnes de las 4 que estaban disponibles, 4 pegadas a 1 carne y 1 comí una hamburguesa. Todo ordenado y ordenado. Luego eché un vistazo alrededor, después de no haber estado en las persianas por más de 30 años. Me quedé muy impresionado con el lugar. Limpio, cómodo, gran bar abierto, que estaba muy ocupado con los lugareños bebiendo y la gente comiendo en las mesas. El restaurante estaba lleno. En cierto modo, me alegro de no haber estado sentado allí. El bar era la mejor opción.

Excellent Sunday lunch well presented with plenty of well cooked meat and vegetables. Tables were clean and the service was good.

Reservé una mesa aquí de nuevo después de una excelente comida aquí el año pasado. Una vez más, la comida era excelente, al igual que el servicio. Mi única preocupación en esta visita fue la falta de ambiente debido a la escasez de clientes. Debe haber sido una noche muy tranquila.

Busy, but efficient staff. Excellent choices of meats. Food hot and attractively presented. Tasty Yorkshire puds. Apple and pear crumble was delicious.

Went for Sunday lunch, last minute booking ! Fabulous food lots of it the pork belly was yummy & a great selection of vegetables too , they were very busy but still great service & happy staff

Called in Saturday lunchtime with my daughter.We both had the toad in the hole and was delicious, very good portions and plenty of fresh seasonal veg. We were served lovely creamy mash with our lunch and this was one of the nicest I have tasted from a pub.It was not busy so we didn't have to wait long at all.Everyone really friendly and we will certainly go back again and try something else from the menu.
