Dined in with family- ordered fish and chips, the pie of the day and sticky toffee pudding. The fish was one of the best we've had in England so far.. perfectly cooked, soft and very tasty on its own (although tartare sauce was 👍). No dry/tasteless fishy! The pudding was also such a treat!! Generous in treacle sauce, great pudding taste and beautifully paired with the clotted cream. It is the pie of the day which got us very confused... Normally a fan of rich/gourmand English savoury pies.. The kitchen brought in a casserole with a few pieces of dried chicken and watery mushrooms with just the top of the casserole covered with dough. Noting this item is £28 (I think the most expensive of the menu). Although not expecting revolutionary chicken and mushroom pie, this was the most underwhelming 'pie' we had got to eat, very much a rip off of the pounds requested for it. The ambiance of the pub on its own was great and service of our waitress lovely!! If opportunity arise we will come back but avoiding any of the pies just in case (:

Ships Tavern is a true gem tucked away on a quiet side street in Holborn. With its historic charm dating back to the 1600s, the upstairs dining room features original wooden booths and tables, while the downstairs bar offers a cozy, traditional pub atmosphere. The food is excellent. We started with warm sourdough bread and chicken tenders—simple but done exceptionally well. The highlight was the Sunday Roast Chicken: a generous portion of perfectly cooked chicken served with roasted root vegetables, potatoes, carrots, a crisp Yorkshire pudding, and a rich, flavorful gravy. Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. Ships Tavern is the kind of place that delivers on both character and quality—we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Classic London pub where Londoners gather to drink beer and watch matches. We went upstairs to the dinner room. Few tables and very friendly staff. We ate well and breathed the London air. Shocking NOTE, a person from below came up and stole the camera without us realizing it. The Marco staff immediately accepted our request for help. He told us that they had internal cameras and to go and report it to the police. Another negative NOTE, we went to the police and they didn't help us fill out a form full of questions. At 11.45pm the form crashed and we had to fill it out again. When I asked for help they told me to get help from my daughter. Conclusion ATTENTION for all tourists: they steal even inside the place.

This is for the Oak Room on the first floor. It's a cozy and quiet place with great food and a friendly staff. Many modern restaurants are designed to be loud and noisy, which I assume should simulate a lively atmosphere. Luckily, there are still pubs like this one, where you can find a dining area on the first floor. I went there for dinner with a coworker. We had the Leek & Potato soup, Wild Mushroom Vol-Au-Vent, Steak and the Pot Pie of the Day. Everything was delicious. The pie was big enough for my American colleague to give up eventually. I am looking forward to my next dinner here.

Venerable boozer frequented by individuals from all walks of life. Visited on a bright but cold evening in Feb 2025. The pork scratchings stored in a warmed case is an exciting and rarely seen touch for £4. Bar staff are friendly and helpful (were happy to help with a glass of water for a bouquet of flowers). Glasses of Prosecco for £7.50 each are a good price point, even if I wasn’t that much of a fan of the actual Prosecco itself (nobody’s fault but mine). Restrooms are tidy, with posh hand soaps , although the hand driers are rather deafening. Just be aware the lighting can be rather dim (in keeping with the 16th century theme).

We visited again this old traditional pub on a Monday evening having not being for quite sometime. The first thing that struck us was the strong smell that resembled that of a dirty mop. I asked the bartender what it was and she explained it was the cleaning solution they use? Anyway the smell just lingered the whole time while we were there. That wasn’t the worse thing about the experience, that was the fact they insisted on playing loud jazz music continually. Frankly not really appreciate for a bar built in 1549.

Popped in with friends and my dog. They were very welcoming and asked if the dog needed water and would he like a treat. Beer was excellent and the ambience really lovely. Liked it so much I'm popping in this evening as I'm in the area

Great range of drinks. Excellent staff and range of music but the volume could be a little lower. I like going here for a pint when I'm in Camden

We planned to meet here but took us all a while to find it. It’s not at ground level, you need to go up to first floor and it’s exactly where the trains come to a stop. But once we found it we were very satisfied. It has a good vegan menu and very friendly helpful and understanding staff. It was quiet and comfortable
