Amazing traditional style PUB in London. Not many tourists, local community.

Such a lovely historic pub! Its a little hidden away but if you find it you wont be disappointed! Small and cosy with lovely staff. Its also now opened on a saturday!

A small and clearly very popular pub which you'd never find by chance, as it's so well tucked away in an alleyway. Drinks are expensive but nothing unusual by London standards, and there's a good selection available. Don't expect to sit down and you shouldn't be disappointed!

Usually go to this pub as I work in the area but not sure if it’s under new management, the staff are now quite rude. I asked for a particular drink and was met with quite an obnoxious reply. They also closed early on a Saturday by an hour and didn’t give a good reason. Definitely won’t be going back to this place

Fantastic historic pub dating back to 1546. Small and cosy inside, pleasant outside with seating in a narrow secluded passageway. Not easy to find as it is tucked away behind Hatton Garden shops. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and they do a great Wensleydale & Chorizo pork pie !

Oldest active pub in London. Such a cool place that is surrounded by "modern" building, a pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff. The selection of beers is fairly small.

Lovely time upstairs.... Mind the steps! Food limited, but having our own room was awesome. Difficult getting the drinks upstairs...

Great atmosphere. I also love how hidden away it is. Enjoyed the history of the pub (there is a leafelet inside).. And you can still see the cherry tree in one corner of the Pub (behind glass).

I was planning to visit this place but unfortunately It was closed. This is one of the oldest pubs in london and must visit. Will definitely plan another visit later

Met some good fellows there who were hilarious, telling dad jokes. It was a nice time; it felt like some people called that space home. Amazing!

A very typical pub with nice service. Just a little bit noisy because of the space and the many guests but it is expected in such a pub. We would still highly recommand that place !

A step back in time! Decent range of ales, had a decent pint of London Pride. Staff not overly welcoming but overall worth a visit

Legendary Fullers pub, moist and awesome selection of beer

Another great experience visiting the olde mitre which has stood since around 1546 and has said that Queen Elizabeth danced around a cherry tree that once stood there with Sir Christopher Hatton. One of those places you have to know where it is to find it as it’s down a little alley. Was a lot bigger than I was expecting! The front of the pub is very small (which I knew prior) but there is back room that the bar goes to as well. Lots of tables outside down the alley itself and little tables round the where the men’s toilets are. Great selection of beers especially Peroni and Asahi which is great. Definitely will come here again!

Great pub, though the Ladies' toilet is at the top of a very difficult to use staircase which is very difficult for my disabled wife.

The atmosphere is all here. There is no food and service is like any other pub

Historic London pub with a great atmosphere, and getting to the place is quite a trip. It's quite small, but it works for having a beer on the go and on top of that you get to know a historical place.

In a small hidden alley, you will find this pub as if outside of time, a little bubble of laughter and serenity in the middle of a London that is always moving! I highly recommend ☺️

La cerveza es buena y la oferta de alimentos muy limitada está bien como papel aluminio para la bebida. Los precios son altos, pero en general vale la pena visitarlo.

Quick to get your drinks, beer is filled well though it might not be in the glass you’d like. Can’t split the G if there is no G. Great service - very packed and fun

A personal favourite famed for its excellent beer and 1970's style English tapas (toasted cheese sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls & scotch eggs).

Such a cool atmosphere! Very friendly people, great drinks, and excellent service! Can be a bit hard to find if you don’t know what/where you’re looking for, but it’s absolutely worth it! Really a tremendous pub experience if that’s what you’re looking for.

this place is all about the place. What a setting! Beer is OK, tap room smells fiercely of spilled beer and God knows what else. A charming classic.

This is a fabulous little pub. Half a dozen or so independent cask ales plus Fullers. The beer is in beautiful condition and I just paid £3.10 for a pint in London!

Lovely old pub, great decor inside, beer is better than the other pubs we've been in this weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clientele was a mix of city boy workers and tourists. Worth tracking down.

I love it. Every time we pass we get closer. It is the traditional English pub that could be in any small town. It has a very cozy terrace and they are very friendly.

An absolute dump. If you like standing in a damp alley way or a tin or sardines then this is place for you. All the charm of a public toilet.

During an organized tour of the historic pubs of London, we visited this jewel, if you don't know it you won't find it because it is in a small street, but this makes it quiet and not attacked by tourists, very warm and welcoming environment, excellent beer, food The regular customers with whom we chatted were excellent and very nice too.

🚇 Chancery Lane 🍺 £7.35 Asahi London’s Best Hidden Pub. Ye Olde Mitre is hidden away in a secluded alleyway sandwiched between Hatton Garden and Ely Place in Holborn. The nearest Tube is Chancery Lane, Farringdon station is also close by. The pub was first built in 1546 for the servants of the 41 Bishops of Ely whose 13th century built palace once occupied this area. The crumbling palace and surrounding buildings were demolished in 1772, the only surviving building was St. Etheldreda's Church in Ely Place. The pub was rebuilt in 1773 making it one of London’s oldest pubs. This pub is divided into three small ground floor rooms, one of which can only be entered through a separate outdoor entrance, there is also a bigger room on the first floor. The decor is old world traditional with dark panelling, heavy oak furniture, Elizabethan memorabilia and leaded stained-glass Tudor windows. There is also some outside seating which runs up the alley to the Hatton Garden entrance. The beer selection is solid and offers cask, craft and premium lager options. I decided on a pint of Asahi, my pint was tip-top, price point was above average. If you’re hankering after some sustenance to soak up the beverages, there is a selection of Toasties and Pork Pies to choose from. We arrived bang on opening at 12pm on a pleasant Friday lunchtime in late September. At the time of opening about a dozen or so punters descended on the pub to beat the lunchtime rush. The atmosphere here is very unique, this is a special place to have a pint in. As it was a nice day, we sat out front in the alleyway which like the interior is very atmospheric. The service was excellent, we received a warm welcome from the chap who served us. @yeoldemitreholborn is one of my most favourite pubs in London which I visit at least once a year. London is packed full of history and beautiful historic architecture, if you fancy sampling a bit of both with a pint in your hand, then look no further than this marvellous boozer. The only pub in London I'd be happy to stand outside. It's a tight hallway. This makes it even more of a great pub. It's expensive but where in London isn't.

Like Diagon alley. 500 year old pub with rooms not much bigger than a normal living room but so much charm.

It has a history of over 500 years and has a great atmosphere. The store staff are also friendly.
