Caffe Nero - Southampton Row in Camden

Barista Armin made me an iced pistachio coffee. It was by far the best I have ever had. Thank you Armin, great coffee and great customer service.

Good for breakfast or lunch break. It is a franchise cafe so you know what you get. Friendly staff, good sandwiches. Nearest to our hotel, easy pick. 👌🏻

The coffee is good & the staff friendly, but the cafe was noticeably dirty when visited early in the morning. (Previous customers' fault, not hardworking servers)

The place is a dump. Staff couldn't care less. The tables outside had cigarette trays that hadn't been emptied. The food was tasteless. First and last time I visit that place. Keep away.

Latte macchiato and cappuccino didn't taste good. Frappés very artificial. Price-performance inadequate. Service very friendly.

I work in the health service I was served by Aamir who was very professional and polite and went out of his way to assist and make my experience smooth and pleased, for example he suggested a more tastier option of beverage and was very prompt in preparing it . Nice service. Music isn't too loud and if it is they will always turn it right down to ambient background so that it isn't intrusive in any way. Comfortable and accepts cash

Hi! The barista doing the afternoon shift on Monday was very kind. I have had hot chocolate in other café Nero as well. I ordered the luxury hot chocolate. The hot chocolate made by her was absolutely delicious and amazing. I will definitely go in this Nero if I’m nearby.

Wonderful experience and an extremely friendly team. The lady in black today seemed like the manager of the store and was smiling and helping all this time we have been sitting there with my family. She is always busy doing something and serving excellent service at all times! 👌🏻😊 I am glad we came by for a break and a good atmosphere

One of my favourite caffe neros - I come here on some weekday mornings when in town and the service is always very polite, and the music is at a low level and on the very rare occasion it is too loud they will turn the volume down, unlike my local caffe nero where the music is too loud and very irritating.

Sunday 28/01/24 at 16:50 I Experienced shocking outright rudeness from Middle East Man during my visit. He act like I was his enemy when all I did was politely ordered a takeaway drink. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in a customer service setting, and significantly affected the rest of my day. Management needs to address this issue promptly. This man thinks he's the god and clearly don't want to be there serving customers.

Found the Nero on Southampton Row between British Museum and Bedford Hotel. Got a flat white, ham and cheese lattice, and cappuccino cake slice. All were delicious. I used a table near entrance but seating extended quite far back, with students working on computers or quietly chatting. I loved the atmosphere of thos coffee shop.

Usually I am a fan of Nero but here it tastes burnt. Staff fired payment through before it registered student discount

Very very very dirty, the tables are not cleaned after the customers! The employees are not helpful at all. They prefer to stay chatting behind the counter rather than keeping the place clean

The hardest working barista I've ever seen on Thurs 7/12/24 morning. He took my payment with one hand whilst making espresso with the other, like an octopus. Despite the pressure he was very polite. Highly recommended man.

Asked for a coffee, wanted to get food too but was ignored for ages as the baristas chatted. After 10 minutes I had to leave to return to work. Unprofessional and rude, never again.

Avoid this Nero. The two male baristas don't know what they doing, don't seem remotely bothered and are rude. The taller one won't open his mouth to ask anything and doesn't know how to heat a sandwich as evidenced by my plant based sausage ciabatta, despite being in the grill thing for a number of minutes, being cold. Pathetic service. After my first bad experience I thought and hoped it was a fluke as it's so close to my work but no they are genuinely incompetent

You've got to try the Amaretto Hot chocolate. Oh gosh it was amazing. I was served by a lady called Liza, her customer service was amazing 10/10 very welcoming and friendly. Excellent place.

It’s branches of Café Nero such as this one that create the impression Café Nero operate a business model involving setting up a café, refusing to invest anything further as the décor, counter, crockery, kitchen equipment, and furniture deteriorate, then closing the café when the rental contract is to be renewed. This branch must be close to the end of its life/rental contract. It feels exhausted, is tatty, has surly staff (who when not working will watch videos on their phones without using headphones – yes, this is a café where even the staff lazily and rudely think it’s fine to sit in a café broadcasting their phones audio to everyone around them) and is often empty because it’s largely visited by tourists while locals avoid it. This café urgently needs putting out of its misery because it does nothing but inflict misery on its customers.

I do love a Nero and specifically seek them Out when away from home. This one was pretty disappointing though. When I arrived last Thursday the two male baristas were sitting on the chairs opposite the til, both on phones. They jumped up when I arrived and served me and then went back to the chairs. The coffee was nicely made. There were loads of tables with dishes still on and some even with the grey cleaning tray which had been abandoned. It’s a very large store with very few customers - I can see why - no nice atmosphere.

Absolutely the worst nero branch I have ever been to... The barista insisted on taking the payment twice and had to issue a refund later when I noticed double payment. The staff has to be told several times before they bother cleaning the tables, only after they finished having a smoke. Not to mention they don’t fill the cups so the large latte has a bitter taste.

On my last few days in London, I was having a bad. But Parha was so sweet and helpful. Coffee and service were great.

Noticed the barista was having a tough morning with a difficult customer. I told him I hoped his day was going to improve. And for that he offered me a free pastry.

Amazing and honest staff. I’m not a regular coffee drinker however ordered a Iced blended mocha frappe. Once received, I required to add sugar as I like my drink quite sweet. The staff member noticed me and asked what I ordered. She realised immediately the wrong drink had been made(expert knowledge), based on the colour of my drink. 2 mins later I received my drink nice and sweet. She was courteous and honest, I would of left hadn’t I been stopped by her. Excellent service, a very happy customer

Just popped in for a drink with my Daughter. Looked small from outside but there was a lot of space inside and tables are well spaced out. The staff were friendly and prepared our drinks quickly, asking if we wanted the usual extras etc. We sat inside in comfy chairs and stayed for a while as we didn't have much to do today.

Absolutely horrendous service from the guy. Rude, asked if I was blind because I didn't know which pay machine to use. First time I have to leave a 1 star review. Asked for his name to complain and he said he has no name so told him I will take pictures of him (which he kept turning his back to me)

I went there on a Sunday afternoon and the staff (Asian) was very rude. Didn’t expect good customer service in a chain cafe but his attitude was absolutely terrible. He saw me waiting at the counter ready to order but he just kept ignoring me for a good 5 minutes. Then, he was impatient when I asked if I could use the washroom, and he even corrected me saying it’s “bathroom” not “washroom”. Like WHY DOES THAT EVEN MATTER SIR? When I reached the toilet, I realised there’s a password but he didn’t tell me what the password was so I had to ask again. I ordered an iced flat white and it’s super blend and watery😫

Food was good for a quick lunch break. But the star of the show was the coffee. Amazing Cortado! PS: Really appreciate that soy milk is not charged as an extra 👌☕

Considering how quiet it was service was appalling. Noone lives to be ignored especially when there are more staff than customers in the queue

Caffé NERO, the Italian Coffee Company. They’re everywhere in London. This location was clean and pastries were warm and fresh out of the oven. We got chocolate croissant 🥐 and cinnamon roll, both were fresh and yummy. Lady at the cashier was a kind and engaging one so my son wanted to leave a tip, not only their tip box was so creative and fun and encouraging to tip, but also the lady deserved it 😅 check the pic below and see yourself what the tip box written on it 😃

I love Caffè Nero for the quality of its coffee and hot chocolate v competitors plus coziness of its premises. This branch has to be my least favourite so far. It wasn’t clean and the toilets had no toilet paper, sanitary bin was full/open, and you could see by their own chart no-one had done the last 4 checks that day that are due. I pointed this out to the staff and at least the guy immediately apologised and went to sort out the toilet paper. Having said this this store had two members of staff that day and a busy store. Drinks still Caffè Nero quality though.

The staff is very little motivated and available. The place is not very clean. The good side is that you have more chance to find a table available as there are less costumers than in other Nero caffés.

In general I buy my coffee from Cafe Nero as it is quite good. This morning I went to order my coffee.There were two girls, one with short hair and the other one with slightly longer hair. I gave the order to the girl with longer hair because the girl with short hair was too busy looking at the clock and I waited. Another lady came after me, the coffee of that lady who came after me was served before me. After that the girl with the short hair asked "what was the order"? Rude service, I think the head manager should pay them a visit. I will continue to drink my coffee from cafe nero but not from this location!

Uses nesquick to make their milk shake. 😂 You've all been robbed. Even the staff said they were shocked to find that out, when they started working there. Never liked nero anyway. Coffee was always yuk.

All the staff from a trainee level to management are always polite, kind, very hardworking and a service with a smile. if the store is busy they will make sure that you will receive your order. It's just a really nice store to visit if you want just to grab a coffee and a snack if your on your lunch break or just passing by. Highly recommended it...

Brilliant Barista and coffee !!! We visit this shop and have a meal and drinks sometimes whenever we come to Great Ormond Street Hospital, which is nearby. So far, we have had a brilliant experience whenever we visited, as a blond-haired female barista is always really friendly to my daughter and me.

Was not happy with service. I don't usually complain about café Nero as i visit stores weekly. But we arrived one and half hours before they closed and was made to feel the 20 pounds worth of drinks for me and my family was a pain for them to make. Made to feel unwelcome just because they wanted to go home. Won't visit this store again.

Queued for ages only to be told they were closing & I could only have take out. This was despite it only being 3.50pm & their closing time listed as 6.30pm. I had been walking & wanted a rest. Not impressed! The cafe seemed soulless & drab with demotivated staff.

I visited the cafe with a couple of friends for breakfast and the costumer service was amazing! Elia was very friendly and always with a smile in her face. The coffee and the pastries were great and they were ready super quick! Highly recommended! I will definetely come back here.

Love the Portuguese girl Elia working there. So nice and pretty with great customer service. Always making my coffee at its best.. With the right grading and temperature (check their timer) ! I defo recommend this place for coffee and cakes in the afternoon :)

Cafe Nero on Southampton Row is my preferred cafe in quite a large radius. The coffee is great, the cakes are great too, but it's the speed with which they make the coffee while still finding time for a smile and quick conversation. You just feel you're in good hands.

Ett café som sett sina bästa dagar och hade behövt en renovering eller uppfräschning. De serverar standardutbudet av fikabröd om än åt det tråkigare hållet. Ta ett annat fik om ni kan men annars funkar det för en kopp kaffe.
