The pub is in a great location, especially as we had some colleagues arriving on the Eurostar. The decor is really nice and the tables and chairs are comfortable. The food is decent and nicely presented. The serving of the courses was nicely paced, but the staff could have been more on the ball in terms of clearing glasses and plates, and keeping an eye on drinks (we kept having to ask for water), but I suspect like many places they are generally short-staffed. Overall a good experience for our team's Christmas lunch and we will come again as the location works well for us.

Met a friend here for lunch and from the minute we walked in till we left, the service was excellent and friendly. We had the 3 course lunch from the December menu, all delicious in a warm, beautiful surroundings. We love this pub - highly recommended and so convenient if you're meeting family or friends who might be travelling from different directions as St Pancras station is so easy to get to. Please go and experience an amazing time.

I give it a low score because this pub is as just a tourist/ traveller trap. No atmosphere, staff good but no personality. I'm local so I recommend the authentic boozers nearby like the Dolphin literally across the rd. Proper landlord there. Or the Skinners even . Or the Boot which is proper old school London. This pub in no reflects the vibrancy of the area nor the character. It's inauthentic and overpriced. Made for the visitor . No local would be seen dead . I visited to see it but never again.

The venue is very nice. The selection of food good, pricing excellent and the ability of staff to manage a large group with dietary complications was very reassuring. I would highly recommend this location of a meal, family catch-up, any reason realy. Understated high reliable service.

Outstanding birthday lunch for 32 of us! David our waiter was exceptional (I didn’t ask if he was the manager-he definitely should be). Flawless service, engaged with all of our guests. Took drinks orders and payments as we went which we had requested to avoid working out a complex bill at the end. Food was all brilliant, it’s standard pub stuff but done very well. Excellent location of course. Highly recommended. Thank you David from Saville!

This review will be in two halves for fairness. First Half: I booked a 7pm table for 5 on Thurs, 3rd Oct. We got there and there was no table prepared, we were then offered to small round tables. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco at the bar. The wait was 5+ mins. We then received a warm, unopened bottle, with no bucket nor glasses (??!!) as nobody behind the bar knew how to open the bottle!!! The service just was not there and after 30 mins we decided to leave... (Rating: 3/10) Second Half: Just before leaving, I went to the toilet and found the dinning area. I asked the lady who seemed to be in charge if there was a possibility of a table. She found one and was FANTASTIC & WAS ON POINT ALL NIGHT!!! When she found a table, that's when our evening started! She knew everything about the menu, ensured we had everything we needed and transformed our evening. (Rating: 10/10)

This is a pub with plenty of indoor seating as well as a section within the covered St. Pancras platform area, expected range of draught and bottled beer, spirits, cocktails and wine and a good assortment of foods they can prepare in the kitchen. Met up with a friend for a couple rounds recently. Prices are reasonable, service friendly, easy pub to find at King's Cross/St. Pancras, comfortable environs, would gladly choose it for a meeting spot again.

Wonderful evening spent at this cosy, welcoming pub. High quality in everything, especially considering is a station pub - furnishings, decor, menu. Bit of a tardis too, with so many areas - pub, snug, large dining room, outside seating - both front and on to station platform, which is special. We came in to warm up and ended staying 5 hours! Delicious, warming food - especially recommend the sausages and mash and the extremely substantial chicken and leek pie. Staff were friendly and funny. Only slight criticism was food service was a little slow, to bring and to clear.

We much enjoyed our relaxed family reunion here on 7th September 2024. Twenty of us from all over the world gathered in a private dining room for a lunch which lasted from midday until after six o’clock! It was an absolutely perfect venue and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. The food, reasonably-priced, which everyone had chosen for themselves via the very useful online booking system, was excellent. The service however was splendid. We were made to feel welcome from the start, and our charming and patient hostess could not have done more to make us welcome; she was a very important part of our day. I am sorry I can’t remember her name but she will know who she is! I would have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending the Betjeman to anyone seeking a venue for a family do or indeed any kind of party!

I love this restaurant/pub. You have the choice of having a light lunch which you can order at the bar or, my preferred option, sitting down in the lovely dining room which has waiter service and great views of Kings Cross station from the windows. Also, there is no music which for me is a big bonus - I could hear everything my friend said! The double or triple glazing is extremely effective because you can’t hear the noise around Kings Cross station. In short, you could be sitting in a country pub, not in the middle of London town. The food is very good as is the wine list. My one suggestion is that they make the vegetarian and vegan options more imaginative (eg. use beans and pulses).

We have been coming here as a family for over 25 years, before we had our son and after, he's now 20. I travelled solo to London today and sent a photo of my Aperol Sprotz to my husband and son saying guess where I am! They both said it would be rude, as a Kelly, to pass by without dropping in. For a train station pub you would think it's just a stop off but we have so many memories. My son watching the eurostar, us introducing our son to a safe space in London where you can relax and always have the best service. My husband and son met up with a group of friends before the Championship playoffs and had the best time. I met my sister during the covid restrictions and the staff could not have done more to accommodate us in torrential rain, hiding us under big heated umbrellas. And today. Knowing that I can drop in and have the best Aperol Spritz in the sunshine. It always feels like greeting an old friend, comforting and warm. Go now. I could sit there all day.

What a superb venue for lunch. Three of us met here on a weekday lunchtime. We had attended Leicester University fifty years ago and had recently been in contact for the first time since then. The setting is stunning, designed in the 1880s by George Gilbert Scott, it is an iconic, listed, red brick building and the interiors are no less impressive. The restaurant takes full advantage of its history and retains much of the original features. The menu is good, the food delicious and the service impeccable. You don’t need to be a railway enthusiast or even a passenger to enjoy this venue. A must see place -a beer, wine or meal - any excuse but do go!

Meal was lovely but apart from the chap behind the bar who was helpful and actually spoke the waiting staff were the most miserable bunch we've ever encountered. I was with my son who runs a restaurant and he said if any of his staff had served their customers like we were served he'd tell them to go back and do it again. The girl who gave us our cutlery didn't even look at us, she just dropped the cutlery on the table while looking the other way. The man who brought our food didnt say a word and again nothing when I said thank you when he cleared the plates. I then fell off the step as our table was up on a ledged area and not one member of staff came to ask if I was ok, not even when I walked past the bar limping. I went right over hitting the wall, even other customers gasped but nothing from the staff. I've hurt my knee and both arms yet not one single member of staff showed any concern. Hadn't even had any alcohol! Good food let down by awful and rude staff.

Dined here on Saturday 6th April 24. Very frustrating when you get given a menu and you choose your starter and main course give your order and off the server goes to put through the order, for them to return 8 mins later, to tell you that your starter is not available. You chose another. Then returns in another 3 minutes to tell you that the special that is advertised on a board in the restaurant is not available, you order something else (same as other person you are dining with). Server returns 5 minutes later to let you know that you can have the chicken pie you have both ordered, but there is no gravy to go with it, 'is that okay'? No it wasn't, so now on 3rd mains order. Food arrives and is delicious - no complaints about the food standard. Comes to dessert time, we order, server returns to let us know that the chocolate dessert we have ordered is not available!!!! I am shocked that such a large establishment would be so lacking in its menu choice (and it is not an extensive menu by any means), how do you run out of everything? Please servers, find out what is no longer available on the menu before you take the order and let the customer know this as soon as you hand them the menu. That way you avoid disappointed customers.

The blonde Eastern European looking woman was rude. I’ve just entered your establishment, as I’m trying to pass by two tables that are so closely packed together, why would you go out of your way to block the path - even after you acknowledge I’m trying to pass? Why not let me through first before blocking the whole passageway and spending 3 mins cleaning and setting the whole table (while I’m waiting) before you let me through? Furthermore when I said sorry, excuse me, while trying to pass (been a few mins now and I’m barely passed the first table) I was told to “be patient”. I’m sorry, no. I waited my turn to let people out, didn’t block the path out. You could’ve easily let me through, without the attitude. Completely unnecessary. It was you who should’ve been patient to paying customers.
