Called in here for a drink after a walk with my friend and my dog only to be told by miserable lady that no dogs allowed. How a place like this can afford to turn away custom I don't know. Went down Church Street to the George and Dragon where we were made very welcome with water for Hollydog as well. Come on Ship, catch up with the times.

When we visited we found this establishment interesting as very much an old fashioned public house with a number of locals engaged in conversation. we had hoped to be able to obtain some food - at least a sandwich - but none was on offer on the day of our visit. Good place to wait for a bus and have a bevvy.

Came to visit my family and thought the ship hotel was going to be an ideal place to stay to my disappointment was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, room was dirty dead flys and spiders bed was broke 2 mattresses on top of each other, the bathroom I could not put my tooth brush down for dirty mold everywhere, tiles look like they were about to fall off in the shower bath Matt was dirty I had to turn it around ( think it was suppose to be blue ), doors are spring loaded so they are going to bang when they shut didn't need the landlord telling I'm slamming them when in fact there Old heavy doors, didn't see any one when we left at 10 must of been in bed still, so left the keys on the bar, i think this ship has sunk never again

Had a night out with some friends. Ended up sittin by the bar and chatting to the owners whilst having a few drinks. They have bands playing now and again bit it can get loud. If there is one problem that I could say is that need to pull more people in during the week. But other than that this is a quality place and would recommend a visit if passing plus the food is of a reasonable price and is of high quality.

Here are the facts and not opinions: I entered the Greggs to get myself a lunch and asked politely for a sausage roll. As the sausage roll was being wrapped, I kindly asked for some ketchup to go with it. The manager (Wendy) stated that they do not do ketchup or sachets as they worry about food allergies😳 and for context, I must stress that there was no queue at all. I paused for a while as I paid, I then asked her to state that if they had any ketchup at all behind the counter. Her response was they do but it is only for bacon sandwiches. I then stated that other Greggs in the local area have never taken this course of action. Her response was “Well we are not other Greggs!” Senior management needs to get on to this kind of attitude and lack of quality service as it is not a great look for any business, especially when this is the standard coming from a manager. The standard of service is getting so poor in general it must be called out.

Came in for food early Thursday evening, what a disaster! 10 minutes after ordering the fire alarm went off and it seemed no member of staff knew how to turn it off or organise the pub. Management whilst scrambling around trying to work out what to do left a young girl to attend to all the tables and disgruntled customers. After 35 minutes of sitting with a fire alarm going off, Dave finally found out how to turn it off great.. or not, with no sign of our food after an hour and being told twice it’d be 5 minutes we decide to get a refund and head home. Management of this pub definitely need a refresher on how to handle a fire alarm going off as we weren’t the only customers to notice how badly managed this situation was.
