The Shezan Indian Cuisine in Edinburgh, City of

This is my second visit in Shazan restaurant after trying several restaurants around Edinburgh,the food quality is high level compare to the others and the stuff are giving very restpectful service and care from beginning to end.I will invite all my family and friends there as the food is very tasty and all the very healthy ingredients.highly recomended.

I visited Shezan in Edinburgh, expecting halal food based on their sign. However, when I asked if the food was truly halal, the staff rudely responded, 'Maybe you’ll get halal in Pakistan, not in the UK.' This cast serious doubt on their labeling. If halal standards matter to you, I’d recommend verifying before dining here. Clear labeling and respectful customer service are needed. Staff said to me Go and learn about what halal means. This cast serious doubt on their labeling and understanding of halal standards. I politely request that the management of Shezan inform their staff about what halal truly means and the importance of clear, accurate labeling. If the restaurant is displaying a halal sticker on its menu, it should reflect genuine halal standards. Respectful customer service and transparency in labeling are essential, especially for those who rely on these standards for dietary or ethical reasons. If halal standards matter to you, I’d recommend verifying before dining here.

Brilliant meal tonight. Fresh and delicious curry, best naan we’ve had, really well presented and all ready within 20 mins for take away.

Best Food on The planet. And Has LOTS of AWARDS.

This place deserves five stars. The food was excellent, and so was the service. The price was right too! The nan was delicious and so was the chicken. I hesitated to go in because of a terrible review. But I trusted my gut and decided to give it a try. It was wonderful. Restaurant decor could use a little bit of help, but the food was great. I loved my mango lassi.

I booked this place for a meal with my family after my graduation. As someone who loves getting some Indian food in, I loved this place! They had all the classics on the menu and the food was lovely. Everyone ordered a different dish and there were no complaints at all. The staff were very attentive and I enjoyed the tunes in the background. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food that we got. Also, the peshwari naan was banging!

Recently went in to have a meal prior to attending a show at the nearby theatre. Enjoyed some great poppadoms with 6 choice pickle tray.Main courses provided curry options not seen on other Indian Restaurants with a good choice of breads and rice's too. We were served by Kiran who helped make the experience fab

I went to this restaurant with my family at 10:15 PM, as Google indicated it closes at 11 PM. However, the lady at the counter told me that the restaurant was closed, even though there were still customers eating inside. Don't bother going there and wasting your time.

It is one of the best Indian restaurants I have tried in Edinburgh. The staff are good and courteous, and the food is delicious. It is sufficient for two people comfortably. I thank the employee Sumit, who is excellent and very polite. He gave us tea as hospitality. I came to them twice and will return to them before traveling 🌷🌷🫶

Overall i rate this place as 1, the food is not a wow, we ordered for lamb biryani which was ok, and tandoori prawn grill which didnt have any taste, the onions served in the grill was tasteless just boilt and put it in the sizzler plate.. we were keen to have dessert, we asked for the menu from the waiter, guess he forgot our request and started to attending other customers… because we were keen to have desserts.. we changed our travel plans and missed our train…we waited for nearly ten to fifteen minutes and after no response we asked for check i wont recommend this place nor will i ever visit this restaurant…

It is always a great pleasure to have my favorite Shazan chicken tika with the wonderful service with a very nice smile of Mahima..... Ways perfect happy evenings and look forward to coming back.

If you genuinely want to eat Indian food , do not go to this place, thats the best i can suggest being an Indian . It’s a cheap restaurant w cheap quality food. 1. Naan, overcooked and bitter, 2. instead of pilau they served jeera rice unless i have been eating wrong pilau my entire life 🤣 3. Samosas basically frozen ones which were deep fried which i feel we can easily get that from an Indian store and deep fry it ourselves. Service is terrible, not attentive while order been taken from customers, owner or so called owner of the restaurant seems very entitled, no care for genuine customer feedback/customer care. I had given a review about the food and the only thing they had to say was “this is how we have been doing all these years” , which left me w a good laughter 😅 Overall my experience was not good at all. He did take off £2.50 for the rice though, out of courtesy which I felt was genuine, but the stress i had to go through wasnt worth it.

I was there when i went to Scotland for one week with my school and i have to say that this is one of the best Restaurants i've ever Seen. The Food was delicious and the Service was absoulutely nice. We even Made Photos with the staff members before me and my friend went Back to the Hotel. 10/10👌🏻

I had booked my take away for collection at 17:40, I finally got it at 18:25, 45 minutes late! It doesn't matter if the food is good the service is not satisfactory, I won't come back.

I have tried Peshwari Naan in four different Indian restaurants in Edinburgh, and I can conclude this is the most delicious and biggest one! Very satisfying and appetising! Here the Naan is not dry or crispy but fluffy and smooth. I love their Peshwari Naan the most. And the barbecue mix is a must! Very signature flavours make the grill impressive and any one of the mix is tasty - so rich and heavy in flavours but not too salty and I love this. Mushrooms are normal; King prawn Tandoori is beyond my expectations because if I’m not wrong, they use Tiger (isn’t it King prawn?!) prawns to serve this dish, these prawns taste and smell like lobster! You must try! Also I guess the tikka masala and rice are sides for the mix grill, and they are delicious as well. I am planning orders as many as I want in the future. Great recipes.

Close to our hotel, we chose this Indian restaurant among others in this street based on the comments 😉 And we were not disappointed 😁 The setting is not attractive because there is almost no decoration. Fortunately we didn’t stick to this criterion! Excellent cuisine, hearty, with the Indian flavors that we appreciate 😋 The Royal Biryani was delicious as was the Chef's Special accompanied by extra Kashmiri rice and Tandoori Paratha 👍 Special mention for the Kulfi Pistachio to die for 🤪 In short, an excellent address that we highly recommend 👏👏👏

We had the North Indian garlic chicken and the lamb bhuna. Both were excellent. The naans are also great. The keema naan was one of the best I've had in a long time.

The food tasted too garlicky. Not a good choice for an Indian food.

Excellent, but on last visit they brought the fire: extra spicy. Not common based on my other visits where the heat was well balanced. We enjoy the spice, so all in all it was quite good. We all left with a good sweat on our brow. Glad they made it back after Covid.

Lovely food, nice relaxed atmosphere and staff were great. Especially Bobby, he asked why we were visiting and when he found out it was my husbands birthday he delivered a piece of cake with a candle and sung happy birthday with the other staff much to my husbands horror which made it even funnier. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre visite au shezan en famille. Ce restau est face au théâtre et super bien placé avec tram à côté. Nous étions 4, nous avons pris des grandes boissons. Lassi mangue très bon, deux entrées à partager, et un plat chacun (curry tika, lamb Bouna, des lentilles végétarien et un Tandoori tika). Tout était délicieux, savoureux, mais attention quand même un peu épicé. Nous avons aussi pris riz pilau et 2 nans pour accompagner. Nous avons payé 94€ ce qui est très raisonnable pour Edimbourg. Très bon.

We were visiting the city and decided to dine in The Shezan on two consecutive nights because food was excellent, full of flavor, perfect portion size. Very welcoming staff, restaurant was very clean and spacious. Highly recommend.

We've been eating there with a group of 9 people. We had some starters and 9 different main courses so we could try several dishes. Everything we had was delicious and unique in taste. Among our favorites was the Tandoori Chicken Tikka. It can get a little bit loud in the restaurant but the waiters immediately reacted to our request of turning the music volume down a bit. All in all a great evening. Would recommend 👍

As always the Shazan delivered on fantastic food and impeccable service, for our regular reunion dinner on Friday night. We were served by Shahid but he was not alone with eight of us to feed and water. It never lets us down.
