The food is great, the service is very inconsistent . Some staff member felt rude. Would recommend for food, but not a very hospitable experience.

We really enjoyed our experience. The food was phenomenal the staff were attentive and friendly and we will definitely be back. A must try is the Tuk Tuk Wallah Staff curry and the Kerala Prawn Moises. My husband’s favorite was the butter paneer. We enjoyed it so much I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture. The atmosphere was a bit loud because it’s a large open space and there were several large groups celebrating Christmas dinners but it was still an enjoyable night.

Lovely meal. Really nice, relaxed environment where you can have a conversation with company. Service was exceptional - attentive without being overbearing! Food was tasty and delicious.

Good range of dishes given the relatively small menu. 1* curry was a little hot for me but I'm a lightweight and there was a choice of milder dishes. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.

Spontaneously decided on the restaurant because it was raining heavily and it was right next to our hotel. Luckily we still got a table. We tried the vegan offering once and were thrilled. The dishes are slightly spicy, perfect for us. The staff was very friendly 😊

Nice atmosphere, great service and the food was amazing. Paneer in butter sauce very tasty. Order a couple of dishes - they aren’t huge portions and you get a great combination of flavours. Masala chai was just right.

Been a number of times, the food is always delicious. The sharing menus in particular are great value and give a good range of dishes.

Nice ambience and delicious food.

A great place with very tasty food, done really well and good service. Was expecting really small portions as was advised to choose two or three dishes but two was plenty if sharing some rice. The jug of mango lassi was delicious. Would definitely recommend and eat here again

Came for dinner and had really lovely meals. I had the masala paneer and puri bombs which were both delicious. Drinks were great too, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Edit: came back again on a Saturday night without booking and they were kind enough to squeeze us in before our concert. We got the veggie samosas, puri bombs, chana masala, butter paneer and garlic naan and rice. We’re all absolutely delicious as always and came out super quick. Mango lassi was great too. Staff were super attentive and helpful.

Average restaurant. I heard a lot about the restaurant but it was average in terms of the food taste and authenticity. The chicken lollipop was served with a tamarind sauce and lettuce, which is not an Indian way and the chicken at fast food chain tastes better. The Veg Frankie was not at all related Indian Frankie, it was not even a normal veg wrap and was way too overpriced. The Cheese chilli naan didn't have cheese in it. Overall, it was overhyped and overpriced as per the food quality.

Such a lovely place with very nice staff and amazing food. We are fans of butter chicken, but the butter chicken we had there was the best one we ever had. In combination with pilau rice so delicious, in combination with garlic naan literally an explosion of flavors. Highly recommended place!

An affordable Indian restaurant in the student area. Simple and reduced offer with tasty and not very spicy dishes. As a curiosity, they do not serve alcoholic beverages and they can be purchased and brought in from outside.

Food, service and atmosphere were all good but didn’t like restaurant policy of enforcing voluntary charity charge and recommending to order 2-3 dishes per person.

Staffs are rude and also they have no manners at all.

We had a lovely meal! Thank you so much for such wonderful service you made both us and our young girls feel really at home. The food was really special. The Railway Lamb was tender and literally fell apart. The girls loved the Korma and my favourites were the Daal Makhni and Samosa Chaat. We can definitely recommend for anyone who wants a laid back and friendly atmosphere, with lovely service and delicious food. Thank you.

Saag paneer was okay. The rest samosa chat and yogurt bombs were good. Naan was like roti exactly.

The food was amazing! I chose the spot because it was close to the guest house I'm staying in and once I walked in I knew I was in for a treat because it smelled fantastic. Super friendly staff. The food was flavorful without being too hot or too heavy. Though they don't have alcoholic drinks they do make fantastic spritzers. I would recommend the Mint Mambo. I also really enjoyed the Unauthentic Chicken korma.

Food great, definitely spicy. Staff nice and friendly. Drinks yum. Prices very reasonable. Tables and chairs a bit uncomfortable / uneven, lights may flicker. Otherwise very good.

Me encantó la configuración de platos pequeños - mi hermano y yo tuvimos que probar un montón de platos y nos fuimos sintiéndonos llenos, pero no “excesivamente rellenos”. Todos los platos estaban bien condimentados y tenían un nivel justo - correcto de especias para mi preferencia.

Lychee lemonade ice foam was not too bad but the drink itself was way too sweet Saag paneer was very good, enough complexity and creaminess Butter ckn was too sweet and lacked spices Bombay ckn was also abit too watery, not cooked down enough. The taste profile was similar to ayam masak merah. It's got quite a bit of heat Staff curry was alright, creamy texture with some sourness, but also needed more body. Lamb lasooni was average, somewhat dry and quite lacking in body as well Chili cheese naan was the fluffy kind with just a little bit of flavour from the chili and cheese, rather mild Pilau rice was fragrant, that was quite good Tandoori roti was competent as well Aubergine raita was quite pleasant, creamy and had a bit of sourness

Had the express lunch, food was served rapidly and was very good. Waiters are also very polite

This was literally the best food I have had in Edinburgh since I came here. The service is top notch and since it was my birthday they even gave me a brownie on the house. Made my experience so much better Definitely recommend coming here

Great food came quickly Good size portions for small plates

Went for a late lunch. Food is okay but potion size for curries is disappointing. Not the most welcoming staff. Unfriendly server, felt somewhat disrespectful and kept disappearing leaving us alone in an empty hall waiting for our waiter to appear. Won’t recommend.

Phenomenal food and atmosphere!

Lively atmosphere, aesthetic was superb in the restaurant, loved the Bollywood images in the wall. Food was well priced and good value. Will be back.

If you are looking for some comfort Indian food TukTuk is the place. Kranti the manager was personally attending to nearly all customers. The Chana Masala was a wonderful surprise. Super well cooked and with authentic Indian taste. The combo with Chilly Cheae Naan was wow!!! Relaxed ambience with pics from all Hindi movies on all walls. Staff was very courteous. A good place to stop by in Edinburgh

Los dos compartimos cinco platos, pero habríamos estado más que llenos después de cuatro. La samosa chaat fue la ganadora, pero todo lo demás también fue agradable. The food at Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food was excellent, in particular the lamb lasooni and the garlic naan. The only dish that wasn't great were the moilee prawns, which didn't taste very fresh The mango lassi was really good as well, and it's well worth the money to get a jug of it for £10, over the single cups for £4 each It had a lively and relaxed atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly. They recommended 2-3 dishes per person, since the serving sizes were on the smaller side, but do note that this includes any rice/naan you get as well (we definitely over-ordered for two people, with 6 dishes + 2 rice portions)

Tuk tuk has not once disappointed me. Not one time. I went this weekend with my family for a joint surprise birthday party. Unfortunately only one of the birthday boys showed up and it was the one I wasn’t bothered about seeing, hence the 4 star for atmos. Love to the dudes at tuk tuk who had to cater for such an incompetent table of people.

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. The food is fantastic, service is quick and the personnel are very friendly.

Planned fantastic birthday dinner for around 18 people. Knew it had to be at Tuk Tuk, MY FAVOURITE. The food was exceptional as always, and decent price per value. very good range of vegan and vegetarian and gluten free items which was great for our crowd. A good range of flavours and spice levels too. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating to the party. The entire process from sitting down, to the bill was simple and easy. Will definitely be back!
