We come from the Netherlands en we did a tour in the north of Scotland. Our last night we had dinner in the Eastern Pavilion: it was a great experience in flavors!!!

Takeaway last night and my chicken tikka was luke warm, tough and tasteless. My partner had prawns and they were bit parts and heads only and unpleasant. Never again. We'll try somewhere else in Corstorphine 😟😟😟

Delicious 2 course lunch. Amazing value. Onion pakora to start were really tasty and a generous portion. Korma and Madras both delicious. Plenty of rice and a beautiful big naan bread. Great service. Love this restaurant.

Ended up here looking for a restaurant. What nice people and delicious food. We had some nice conversations and the food was phenomenally delicious. Never had Indian food before. Returning 2 days later to enjoy this restaurant again. Hostess recognized us. Guests come first for these people, and once again the food was delicious.

Superb meal. Everything cooked to perfection. We have tried other local indian restaurants nearby but the Eastern Pavilion is exceptional and surpasses all others. We highly recommend.

Visited by chance with my SIL and two granddaughters (10 & 13 yrs) during a flying visit to Edinburgh. We had a great time, the food was excellent (large selection of dishes) with plenty of it and nicely presented. The children were made very welcome and enjoyed their food too with hugs for the lady in charge as we left!

Stopped off in here after a day at the football after a recommendation for a friend and wasn’t disappointed at all . Nice sized restaurant and spotless . Poppadums and pickle tray 1 class and the chicken madras was lovely and spicy just how I like it reasonably priced and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Food was excellent. A little slow to start off with , felt like it was being run by one young man. But no complaints. Would recommend

A little gem of a restaurant. Warm reception from the staff, really great tasty food. It was exactly what my family and I had in mind when we wanted a cosy environment with great Indian food. A great mix on the menu and it was great quality and very tasty. We would definitely go again if we were in the area.

I just popped in to pick up some naans and a daal (lentil) curry. Wow. 10/10 and zero complaints. The curry was so hot i couldn’t hold it, the naan breads were fresh, soft and delicious. Staff also are super friendly and can’t fault the place. Amazing food amazing service. I’ll be back without a doubt!

Excellent prawn & channa purri starters, lamb ceylon was excellent and the Wife loved her king prawn Dansak, wine was excellent along with the cobra. Highly recommend

Very average take-away food. Naan bread was poor, soft fluffy and without flavour. Both curries were lacking in flavour. Could have done better myself. Waste of £35.

The best Indian food I have had by far! And I have had many, both in restaurants and home cooked. Its a shame they don’t have a branch near where I live. I can’t recommend this place enough. The portions were amazing too and the staff and owner are very welcoming and friendly. A must try if you are ever in Edinburgh and love Indian food.

Eastern Pavilion hosted our teams night out. Catered for 60 people. Great family run restaurant serving excellent food with exceptional service. Would highly recommend 👍🏽 Could not fault a thing 👏👏👏

To be honest I can’t comment on the food apart from the poppadoms which were lovely. However, we waited over an hour on starters and it wasn’t even busy so walked out! Service was shocking.Avoid Avoid Avoid unless you want to spend hours on your meal!! Really disappointed

Good food very tasty quiet evening good service

We booked a table for our daughters birthday. We normally get a take away but decided to visit the restaurant once again. The table was too small for 4 people so we felt quite uncomfortable. The staff were very attentive and we were served very quickly and when ever we need something the staff were there. We ordered a chicken Bhuna, chicken Palak and a tikka masala. We were all going to share the mains but that became an issue. The meals were excellent can't fault them they were delicious but we all received too little chicken 5 peices In each of two dishes and 6 pieces in another. Really disappointed they were small peices too so couldn't say it was large chunks. We get more with their takeaway. I know everyone is cutting back at the moment but that went too far. We will stick to takeaway from now on. I would expect that portion for a lunch menu.

OH MY GOSH! So good. We heard of this place before we travelled to Edinburgh so decided to give it a go as it was only a 5 min walk from hotel! Walked in and gave them my booking and sat us straight down came and gave us drinks then the food started coming out… As there was just 2 of us we decided to split the starter so I had chicken pakora and he said samosas and we split BEST iv ever tasted. Mains he had chicken bhuna and pilau rice and I had butter chicken and mushroom rice. Garlic and keema nans. Out of this world will 100% be returning.

The food was excellent and very reasonably priced too . The menu was varied and it was hard to decide 👍😀 It’s not often you can get a bottle of wine for under £15 so happy days on that front .

We had a lovely meal to celebrate my son's 40th birthday. We were 9 adults, 3 boys under 6 and 2 one year old babies. The owner very kindly opened the restaurant for us early on the Sunday so we could sit down for our meal at 2 o'clock. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a nice big table for us all to sit together and in fact had the restaurant exclusively to ourselves for the whole time. The owner offered us the full menu and provided suitable food for the kids. We had lovely starters and a mixture of different curries. All delicious and plentiful. Poppadoms, chutneys, sauces. The owner graciously served us all the meals and drinks himself - even constant requests from the kids for more drinks! He was so patient and kind. The restaurant is really nice inside with beautifully laid tables and crystal wine glasses. Lovely atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and huge choice. Thoroughly recommend Eastern Pavilion. Many thanks again to the owner [I am so sorry did not get his name] but he went above and beyond for our special occasion.

Had a fantastic Christmas Day Lunch with family ,couldn’t do enough for us we were a Party of 20. Would like to thank all the staff for making our day so special kids loved it . the food was delicious

Food was cold and order incorrect on arrival. Phoned to inform owner and was told the food was cold as it was cold outside and we were charged the correct amount as the person taking order misunderstood but I repeated it 4 times. Owner aggressive and taking no responsibility. Waste of money wouldn’t use them again.

We visited recently for a sit-down meal to celebrate an anniversary. It was a cold wet night outside, and we were kindly sat at a table next to the radiator to help us thaw out. Quiet, neutral background music to help the mood. There was no pressure put on us to order quickly and we were left to enjoy the ambiance and stretch out our special night. We had the papadum and pakura as a starter both of which were lovely. What I really want to rave about was the main course! Brought in individual dishes with individual serving spoons and presented on a food warmer to again allow us to take our time and enjoy our meal, no need to rush or worry about it getting cold. This way of serving would allow you to share among multiple guests if you were a larger party getting the benefit of trying multiple dishes. The Kathmandu curry was very tasty and not too hot. The Lamb Passanda was delightful. The lamb was super tender and the Passanda sauce was full of flavour, I would definitely recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth like me! The garlic naan was the best I've ever eaten. Light, fluffy on top with a crisp bite underneath, gorgeous aroma and flavour. The perfect accompaniment along with an individual bowl of pilau rice. We also ordered the mango lassi to accompany our meal. Freshly mixed, the container was left on the table to allow us to continue to top our glasses and pace ourselves through the meal. We were not hassled or rushed as you can be in some restaurants and this was a massive bonus to us, this allowed us to enjoy each other’s company, the ambiance of the restaurant and time between courses to savour out meal. However, I could see how this wonderfully relaxed approach to dining may be frustrating if you're in a rush and just want to eat and run. If pressed for time I'd maybe factor this in or simply mention it when you arrive, the restaurant staff were so friendly and accommodating I'm convinced they would work with you if this is what you needed.

We visited Eastern Pavilion, as a family group of 6, on a spur of the moment evening meal choice. We were greeted by Habib, with a friendly, and jovial approach, which quickly developed into a much appreciated humorous exchange of banter ,with all involved enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. Our drink orders were taken ,and quickly served ,as was the meal orders. The group are seasoned, frequent conoseres of Indian cuisine, so we're pleasantly surprised, and in full agreement, that the food served and demolished, was of a very high standard. Not to mention , too a reasonable price for the vast quantities we obtained. As mentioned previously, we were served and allowed to consume in a relaxed manner ,with Habib being attentive and charming to our requests. At the finale of the meal ,Habib interacted in conversation to general informative questions on the area( Edinburgh), and assisted in our discussion on places to visit . He also gave us insight into his young sons achievements as up and coming rugby stars, showing pictures ,and portraying true fatherly proud traits. What a true gentleman. Even the chef appeared with a beaming smile to bid us farewell as we exited the restaurant. We would highly recommend the restaurant, for not only the excellent food ,but for the warm welcome by all the staff. When in Edinburgh please pay this restaurant a visit ,you will not be disappointed ,and we will on our Next time in the beautiful capital city of Scotland.

Had a fantastic Aloo Pakura along with milk shake lassi. Lohari which their speciality was Fantastoc. food and service was wonderful.

We had a wonderful meal in the Eastern Pavilion last night. The chicken in the Kathmandu curry was very tender and the sauce was excellent. The vegetarian Sabzi Paneer Jalfreezi was also very tasty with lots of fresh veg and homemade cheese and just the right level of spiciness. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended!

I visited here for the first time just recently when a friend suggested the place. Having walked past many times (and seeing it quite quiet) I wasn't sure what to expect. Some of the review here were also less than positive. We were seated quickly and served with a smile. Our drinks arrived quickly, although the beers tasted like they were maybe the first pour of the night / not as fresh as I would have liked. This issue wasn't repeated with subsequent drinks so perhaps something has been sat in the pipes. Starters arrived and were pretty tasty, big enough, and served with a smile. I ordered the special to share and my companions ordered two separate curries. The special arrived in its own dish (or 'cauldron' as others have mentioned) and it was reasonably good, although not something I would personally order again. The other dishes ordered (sides, other curries) were very tasty - a North Indian Garlic curry being particularly flavoursome. The Naans were fantastic - super fluffy and tasty - and I would guess made in a proper tandoor. Towards the end of our meal we ordered another glass of Red - the first few glasses has been OK but it seemed that this bottle had ran out and another opened. This second bottle was pretty bad - so maybe better to order wine by the bottle and pick something you like. The prices here offer excellent value for money - with most of the wines being less than £20 / £25. The gents could do with a bit of a refurb as mentioned in other reviews. Nevertheless, I look forward to returning soon.

Stopped off for an evening meal after a walk around the zoo. Thoroughly enjoyed the mixed veg pakora for starter and the lamb korma for main. The naan break was lovely and fresh. Service was great too. Cheers folks!

Went to support a local restaurant and was very disappointed we were the only people there and they got our orders wrong and when I told them they were wrong they did look to correct it but again they got it wrong again to the fact that I never had my main totally was so disappointed and left hungry. Even when we told them they got the order wrong .. which they knew as they came to us before we said we still payed full price even when they could see we never ate our meal I now know why when we pass the restaurant why even on a weekend it's empty 😔

Fantastic food and great service

Having ordered 10 times previously through Ubereats I got access to the £23 off reward which is clearly noted on the app in the top left hand corner of the Easter Pavillion restaurant selection. Having completed my order and paid the full balance that was owed (minus the discount clearly advertised and applied on Ubereats) the order was successful. Over thirty minutes later a received a few miss calls, having left my phone in another room. I then called the restaurant to find out they apparently had no idea what the discount was and would not honour it. Following a discussing whereby they were asking me to query the order with Ubereats (even though this is clearly an issue between the restaurant and the Ubereats company). Following on from this conversation the rude man on the other end of the phone hung up after swearing under his breath. A called again was given a number for the restaurant owner (most places would have had a senior member call you rather than the other way around). Again, after calling I had no success and the owner stated "False advertising from Ubereats" for the discount. Again, a clear issue between the two parties and nothing to do with a paying customer. Following on from thirty minutes of conversing and getting nowhere the order was cancelled. So after an hour of waiting for a paid for meal the restaurant were no help and would not honour a discount applied by a large company they hold a contractual agreement with, Ubereats. Avoid at all costs, although the food was excellent, the service ruins the restaurant and has soured it. A clear mismanagement and lack of putting the customer first here, especially one who has order himself 10 times and many other times through family members. Disgusting behaviour and shows the attitude isn't to be desired.

Great service, great . meal friendly staff, we sat for ages and had an extra bottle of wine! Highly recommended.

Just moved to west side of town so was looking for a new curry house. Eastern Pavilion did not disappoint. Set meal for 2 very reasonably priced, plenty food and very tasty. Restaurant is a little tired looking, but friendly owner made up for it. Will order again.

Lovely Indian lunch for two here with additional social distancing barriers and processes in place like paper menu. All food was tasty and good portions with spicy curries but not mouth burning. We had poppadoms, starters and mains with two rounds of drinks totalling £45 then minus the £20 government discount. Have only given 4:stars as the restaurant is tired and could do with a redecoration but this did not detract us from the good food. 😁

Another amazing meal! Never had a bad meal, whether eating in or take out! Service is so good, the guys are so polite here. Felt very safe and place is extremely clean, as it always was. Food is super tasty, would absolutely recommend!

My new favourite Indian restaurant! We came here after seeing the dinosaur lanterns at the zoo, a 10 minute walk away . The outside doesn't look much, but the food looked amazing and the diners were clearly enjoying themselves. And no wonder. The good is very high quality and good value. Our curry was one of the best we'd ever had. We almost had another naan as it was so amazing, but we knew we'd explode. And the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely return. Please open a place in St Andrews!

Haven't eaten here for a few years, but still always try to pop in if in the area. Great food and just had the lightest and fluffiest naan bread which melted in the mouth. You'll not be disappointed, well worth venturing to Corstorphine.

Staying along the road at The White Lady Hotel and fancied a curry instead of the usual pub grub! Two Indian restaurants very near by and was very glad that we chose the Eastern Pavilion!Very friendly welcome when we walked in off the street, Ordered our drinks whilst perusing the menu and our freshly prepared starters were in front of us within 15 minutes.The mixed pakora and murgh Roti Boti were delicious.Main course arrived only ten minutes later and included the best Paratha bread we’ve had in years, the bindi bahiji was also very fresh. The main courses of Mother India chicken and Koria Lamb were both amazing.And in 1 hour and 15 minutes we had the best Indian meal we’ve had in the past two years, and the ingredients were so fresh and flavourful. Service was attentive but not overbearing, so overall a really great experience.

Fantastic gravy used as base. Some of the tastiest I have had in an Indian restaurant. Good service when I attend and rice is very fragrant. Nan also very good,, not like other places that only brush it with garlic oil. I have been happy with the portion sizes and flavours each time I've been. This is slowly becoming my favourite place to eat because of the frangracy of the spices used.

Exterior decor almost put us off going in but the very clear marking on the menu of allergens persuaded us. Once inside found a very pleasant interior with very helpful staff and excellent food. Offered various vegetarian specialities which were clearly marked as being vegan or vegetarian and whether gluten free (which is a selling point for us). Will certainly be back.

You might walk past this restaurant as the exterior is a bit uninspiring, but that would be a mistake. It's warm and welcoming inside and the food is good.

First thing we noticed was the sauce you get with popadoms was poured back in to the jug it came from then given to other customers when ordering. Disgusting practice of supposed to be a decent restaurant. There was a child cough all over it and dipping his popadom in several times. Then whilst trying to eat my meal a waiter was stretching over me whilst I was trying to eat my food to get a metal plate they use to cover the food. I'm just trying to give you more room he said. I didn't need more room but certainly don't want someone leaning over me speaking to me whilst I eat. As for the food it was just bland boring curry with no real flavour. Wont be returning to this place. No atmosphere either with no music in a nearly empty restaurant. Waiter stood at bar staring at my wife with every forkful she had which was very off putting.😡😡😡😡

It's back to its best. After a few years of mediocrity (and stiff competition from another Indian restaurant on Drumbrae) The Eastern Pavillion is back. Excellent food, nice staff, well priced. It won't be too long before I go back.

Very popular restaurant in Corstorphine, amazing food, fantastic menu, very friendly attentive staff, lovely restaurant with good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Cuando visitamos Edimburgo durante los últimos 20 años, más o menos, hemos estado yendo a este restaurante 2 o 3 veces al año, la más reciente es la noche del lunes (26). Tal vez hemos tenido suerte, pero siempre hemos tenido buena comida y buen servicio, y el lunes no fue la excepción.
