Service: slow, not attentive, made mistakes with an order, missing order, hair in food !!! Food: small portions of main meals. Starters are decent. You'll get 2 papadoms as a side !!! Scandalous!!! Toilets dirty , no soap , no paper , lockers broken . In central area like this , restaurant should be in much higher standard than this. Very disappointed and won't come back.

We had such a wonderful dinner here. The huge tawa platter was amazing, everything was phenomenally flavoursome. Looking forward to the next time!

Great service. Fantastic authentic food. I recommend the mixed grill for 2 with fresh naan. Also tried the lamb biryanis which was excellent. Toilets clean service within 15 mins on a busy Friday night.

Out as a group for a friends birthday. We had two large platters to share between 8 of us plus rice and salad on the side. Food was authentic and delicious. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back. The lamb in particular was my favourite!

I got paneer tikka masala and garlic naan for takeaway. I have been dying to find a restaurant with a good paneer dish in Edinburgh but it’s been impossible and Roti has just worsened my search. The sabzi is absolutely tasteless, flavorless, anything-less. There is nothing good that I can say about it. The color is off putting for start. That’s never how a paneer gravy should look like. As soon as I took a bite, I did not want to take another and I have never felt that about any food before. I’ve been taught to never waste food since childhood but i want to throw this dish away completely. No one should be subjected to this poor tasteless dish, let alone have to pay £15 for it. I wish I could give it 0 starts but I can’t so I give it 1. Literally no one should eat here, don’t subject yourself to a terrible meal

I would say if you want quality food with great staff, Roti is the place. I went there first time today and made a really small order. But everything from service to taste was up to the quality standard. Seriously loved their Qeema naan. Going to visit them again soon.

Food is amazing however my choice didn't match my taste which is my fault next time I'm picking something else, the manager is amazing he tried to suggest a supplement to make the meal better and staff checked on me, the Pakistani girl from peshawar is ray of sunshine 🌞 the other waitress is an asset to the business. Excellent, authentic Indian/Pakistani flavors. No artificial color or taste. We wanted spicy and hot and it was made perfect. If you are craving for Indian food then this is the place. Btw we had vegetarian - I am sure the non veg would be good as well.😊

The food was so tasty, the seating area downstairs was cosy and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Because we're local we're looking forward to coming back with our family.

Food was ok - nothing special. Service was woeful. Absolutely disgusting. The woman who was seemingly the waitress seemed as though she’s guarding the crown jewels with her attitude towards the menu. She wouldn’t let us change items on the tawa. We had to pay for extra. She forgot our tap water and then she just kept staring at us whilst we were eating. I would never come back. Ever. The restaurant also is in dire need of an upgrade. There is so much miscellaneous crap everywhere, like a car child seat on the bar downstairs?! Probably end of life for this place. P.S. adding to this review because the response is even worse than the service. What a joker. Where did i say the food was disgusting? I said the service was. Learn to read before you respond. And we didn’t finish everything, check your cameras. We packed it up. Oh wait your cameras probably don’t work because the state of your establishment is pathetic. We won’t be back buddy.

The dinner was really great. The platter for 32 GBP really worth every penny for three of us highly recommend whoever visiting this place to have platter as it comes with starters, curry and Nan. We had egg fried rice post this which was average. This is very near to the Edinburgh castle hence the location is great. Hari who served us the food was polite and recommended us the good options.

Visited Roti with my family and had a mixed experience. The food was decent—we tried the Tawa, but the portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price. Unfortunately, the falooda was disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations. Additionally, the owner was a bit rude when we called ahead, which left a negative impression. Overall, it was an okay visit, but there are definitely areas for improvement.

Very good Indian restaurant we had a meat dish for 4 people and a vegan dish for 2 people which we shared together. Very spicy for children but otherwise I recommend it.

First time in Edinburgh, so we were looking for a nice halal spot in the centre of Edinburg. We were a big group of 10. We ordered chicken and lamb Biryani with sides of butter chicken to go with the Naan we ordered. The food tasted good. However, the portions were small for the price listed. The service was a mess it was hard to get any attention and requests would take a long time to process. We ordered 5 Naans and we only got 3 and we let them know of the error and it took a while for them to bring the 2 Naan that we had to cancel it since the butter chicken got cold. Service charge cannot be removed even though the service was poor. You would think that if the service isn’t great you can cancel it but not here. Honestly, a lot of customer service has to be taken into account at this place and portions need to be altered. That’s my opinion and how I felt visiting Roti. Hope they listen to honest feedback and improve. Food isn’t bad after all.

Bit of a random visit to this place as pitstop between shows and only ordered a few small dishes but it was really very good. The Lahore lamb chops were perfect, slightly crunchy and carbonised on the outside but still pink and juicy on the inside and we should have ordered more. No booze, which, in a positive light, keeps the bill low. I've only given 3 for atmosphere as it was a bit quiet but would definitely. Go and create an atmosphere

Too good! The service was quick, food was tasty and people were nice.

We came from Glasgow for a decent meal. However, this is the worst food we have ever had. The foods were uncooked & not fresh at all, possibly used from the leftover items. When we brought this to the waiter's attention, they only offered something else off the menu for free, but were very hesitant to remove the uncooked dish off the bill. Eventually they removed that dish (£6.50 off a £100 bill). They did not offer any further discount/compensation for our poorly made meal. I would strongly recommend anyone to never go there as we will never be visiting again. I have never felt so sick from a meal. Such a waste of time and money!!!

This place is completely rubbish and pathetic. The food was disgusting and tasted inedible, The service was completely poor they were so slow and did nothing about our orders. Also the roof was leaking so much that a bucket had to be placed. The bathroom was not cleaned , there was tissue paper everywhere and it seemed like a sewage pipe.

Great meal that the whole family enjoyed, been a whilst since I had been. Had a selection of the tandoori grill as well as the Kofta curry which was that good I ordered a second one, really good quality food. The last time I went I got the Tawa selection which is like having your own buffet at your table, I also highly recommend that if your in a group.

Me & me partner visit Edinburgh at least once a month & without a doubt we always go to Roti's Tapas Restaurant, the food is well worth the 3 hrs drive alone. All the staff are friendly & polite & make you so welcome. The food is far the best I've had, the flavour & the taste & the choice of food is well worth a visit. Thanks to all the staff & we will see you soon 😊

Taste wise its good, but the starter is not my preferences. Service was top notch! Only in the ground floor the signal was really bad, there’s wifi but cant be connected.

We were looking for something reasonably priced at lunchtime near the museum. We were delighted with here. The place is nice, spacious & clean. Service was excellent and food was prompt. . We had pakora then curry & rice. Cost £9.99 & included coffee. Portions were great. Overall great place for lunch.

We recently dined at Roti and were absolutely delighted by the experience. The food was incredible, and the service was amazing. Both Aisha and Asha were exceptionally kind and helpful, making our visit truly memorable. It was one of those rare but profound experiences that stand out. We are incredibly grateful and extend a personal thank you to the entire team at Roti for such a wonderful evening. We look forward to returning soon!

We had a lovely meal here. Pickle tray had a nice selection of sauces. Curries were lovely as was the Nan bread. Bring your own bottle was a nice touch. We bought chilled wine in the Sainsbury’s across the road. Friendly welcoming service. We will be back.

The food was absolutely gorgeous, had a tava and it was plenty of food for two. The chicken was cooked to perfection and I loved all the sauces. Was reasonably priced for the portion.

It’s a simple little restaurant. We went on a Tuesday so not a lot of staff or customers so atmosphere was quiet. However, the food was amazing. Well cooked, flavoursome and authentic. The Tawa for 2 was amazing topped of my an amazing mango lassi. Very very reasonable price. Definitely recommend if you want good food. (P.S. it is not clearly advertised that there is no alcohol)

The food is good but just really spicy and when asked the hostess did not inform in advance even when we told her we want the food to be less Spicy. ambience is not too good and seem to be not wanting to give me more than one tissue. The owner also seemed to be like a big di**. he was closing up the restaurant and was in such a hurry. Also seems like a very abusive workspace for the employees. The owner seems so rude to them and they in turn, to each other. Very sad. Overall sub-par.

Went for just a light dinner and had the vegetarian/vegan pakora and bhindi bhaji which very really delicious!! (Also made with gram flour in case you want a gluten-free dish). The staff was very lovely, we had a great time. Thank you!

Great food, nice atmosphere, not good handicap bathroom The food here was amazing! My family and I stopped here for dinner on our short trip to Edinburgh. The waitress was very patient while we sorted out our order. We ordered tapas and full sizes of various dishes and they were all lovely. The spice levels (we ordered mild) were flavorful without being spicy. The meat was super tender, and the garlic naan soft and larger than our faces. All the staff were attentive and helpful, and asked after us multiple times. The only downside was the handicap bathroom. My mother with walking problems went, and got poked by some sort of screws(?) in the toilet seat. The backs of both thighs got poked and were still bleeding an hour later.

I ordered a chicken buna but it was not chicken buna. It was just normal. The chicken had no spices, I tried to finish my food but the food was so bald that I couldn't finish it. Not worth the money. Not recommending to any Asian coming for an Indian / Pakistani cuisine food over here

We inquired with your team members last night about their continued opening so that we may sit down and eat. Additionally, your staff claimed to be open and allowed us to stay, charged us VAT, and then asked us to leave because of the impending closure. This is unfair because your personnel ought to have informed us that they would soon be shutting rather than just letting us sit. It explains our unhappiness.When it comes to the food we brought from outside, it's totally understandable to tell customers not to eat it, but there are some standards of communication. It is obvious that when a customer places an order, your employees should inform them that they will shortly be shutting soon. Also, your staff refused to give tea when we wanted it and insisted that we have to place additional orders in order to get a tea. It is quite embarrassing though. The entire experience was negative. Once you received the money, we are forced to throw out. Also if you are claiming its a takeaway we made then (pani puri) served us won't be on plate. Instead you would have served on a takeaway plastics. Regarding the food we had was terrible and tea was alright.

I had an amazing experience at Roti Edinburgh The food was delicious, with each dish perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Lychee Mojito 🍹 it’s a refreshing mix of lime, mint he staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. Definitely a place to revisit

Food was mediocre however what I found off putting was that we asked for a high chair - my son kept trying to jump out of it so we asked the waitress to take it away, she put it into the disabled toilet - surely not right by any means.

One of the best kebab platter I have tasted. Tried their tawa platter for two and everything was incredibly delicious, tasty and flavorful. The manager was incredibly friendly and warm. Definitely one of the most delicious and affordable restaurants in South bridge!

Called at 23:10 still 20 mins to close and they refused to take my order and said we don’t take orders after 23:00 very disappointed should change closing time to 23:00 instead of 23:30

After our let down on Tuesday night, with the 2 hour delay we were told how sorry they were and a a loyal customer our next order would be on the house, we tried to have the order tonight, as an Easter treat, but fool me for lisening to a load of bull, they refused saying not there fault, stay clear of Roti😡😡

Popped in on a whim on Tuesday evening. The restaurant was fairly quiet at first but got busier later on. The food was all really tasty, the service was friendly and polite and all the food came out fast. Would definitely go again!

Substandard quality of food. Biyarni was old and the rice were joined up not like the barmati that should be but the chef kept insisting its fresh. There is nothing for me to recommend. Rather spend your money elsewhere. Very bad and poor experience

Shamila was our server she made sure the request i had for my husbands birthday was fulfilled she was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice with quite music and so was the interior the food value was great but the food wasnt as tasty as can do with some improvement.

I was in Edinburgh for a single night with two old friends we were in the mood for a curry and were walking in the direction of Roti. My first impression wasn't great, I just felt it didn't looked as good as I imagined. I asked my friends what they thought and they said sure. We popped in, got a table and then we went across the road to the minimarket get some booze (BYOB free corkage!). Staff were fantastic, food was great, was not disappointed.

We had a lot of food left at our table from our trip today. The food was bland all had this same weird taste- considering we had an array of dishes from korma to baigen aloo. The pilau rice appeared to have been made with wholemeal rice which was rotten. We were offered ‘free popadoms’ for the table which turned out to be a fiver comes the bill. £3.50 as well for soft drinks, what in the cost of living is that???

Really tasty food with great vegan and gluten free options, clearly marked on the menu. For some reason there's a cardboard box seemingly on display at the till so we were sat next to the cardboard box? We struggled to communicate with one of the staff members also.
