I've ordered from here a few times. The food is generally good but is very inconsistent. Between orders the food will taste very differently. It would be nice if they followed a recipe instead of making things up. It's still good but you never know what you'll get.

Food great, but slow delivery and it was cold on arrival

On a mini city break in Edinburgh and we wanted an easy, local dinner so decided on a curry with St John’s Cur dry Club literally right outside our hotel. We were welcomed straight away by one of the staff who was accommodating and attentive throughout. We went for a chicken tikka masalam and lamb madras and they were delightful alongside a deliciously buttery paratha. We also decided to try a chicken roti boti from the starter menu which was genuinely one of the nicest dishes I’ve had at any restaurant - Indian or otherwise - served with a perfect mango/ yoghurt/ mint dip. Thoroughly recommend to all.

We received food that was cold. And we could not reheat it as it says on the container. Roast pot were brick hard over cooked. Yorkshire pudding was so greasy. Im looking for a refund. I did phone to complain but they said i had to get a refund

North Indian garlic chicken was ok had better but everything else was decent

We ordered 5 mains and a few side dishes. Vindaloo. butter chicken and a tikka lamb dish were borderline inedible. Overloaded with sugar in the latter 2 cases and vindaloo seemed to have missed key ingredients (vinegar?). Naan bread was unusually sweet. Definitely could not recommend eating here unless sickly sweet food is your thing. Maybe we were just unlucky with the choices we made.

Saturday and we hadn’t booked and restaurant busy but they did best to fit the 4 of us in within an hours - went next door to the pub. Was worth the wait the food was lovely and staff attentive. Will definitely return.

This is the best place for a curry especially the butter chicken and the pilau rice amazing it’s that good I’ve had it twice in a week

Exceptional service and mouthwatering food! The restaurant went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Despite an initial address error, they made a second delivery attempt to get the food to me. The dishes were not only delicious but also arrived hot and fresh. The staff's dedication to resolving the delivery issue demonstrates their commitment to customer care. Highly recommended for both their tasty cuisine and outstanding service.

Had a meal whilst in Edinburgh on business. What a fantastic meal! The best naan I've ever had, chicken madras was superb...couldn't recommend this place enough.

The food was delicious. We ordered peshwari naan, Tikka, Biriyani, poppadoms & pickle tray. Fragrant, fresh ingredients and all recognisable as authentic Indian food.

Absolutely freezing meal delivery. Over 2 hours. Should have went to Iceland it would have been warmer. I ate it because I was starving. Food quality still fantastic cold. But I did not pay for a freezing meal. I want a hot meal. Phoned several times always on it way. But did not turn up. Sort out your delivery service. speak to Manor House along the road. Super hot food with ridiculous fast delivery.

Got to be the best Indian meal we've had in a long time, every dish was full of tasty spices, without being too hot. The King Prawn Biryani was great, packed full of prawns and nicely presented. Chicken Dupiaza was delicious. Enjoyed so much we returned for a second meal during our visit to Edinburgh.

The nicest people, the best food. And whenever anything goes wrong , they more than make up for it. A delivery order went missing and they brought me a complimentary bottle with my meal. Thank you 🙏😊

Great tasty food as always! Unlike some other places, each curry has its own unique taste. Portions are really good! Enough to share for sure! Food took an hour (which was advised when we ordered) and sadly wasn’t piping hot, otherwise I’d have marked up but always tasty so wouldn’t complain.

What a shame, the food has always been great from here which is why we decided to order tonight but I can not believe how much oil there was in every dish, I've never seen anything like it! It was inedible unfortunately. The staff are great but the food tonight was a big disappointment. Hopefully it was just a one off.

I tried a lamb curry from St. John's Curry Club for the first time today and I was blown away by the quality of the meat! My husband has also enjoyed his Chicken Jalfrezi a lot. Thank you for a wonderful meal and great delivery service.

The tastiest bengali food as far as I'm concerned in Edinburgh. A must try for old fashioned traditional 70's throw back for overlooked establishments like St Johns Cuŕry Club. Long may they flourish.

Message to the serving staff and the chefs: If a customer asks you for a medium spicy dish, please pay attention and don't compare it with your personal hard core spice tolerance. Chefs: It will be good for the taste of your cooked meals to come through the spice NOT for it to be killed by it. Best wishes.

Food was freezing had to heat up starters main was okay warm not hot. Usually amazing but yeah didn’t enjoy as usual.

Rice was all stuck together my Nan bread was burnt and the korma was no taste. I’ve been here before and it’s never been like that!

After reading the reviews, we could not have been more disappointed with our visit. The curries were all bland and tasteless, but the sundry items were all soft and delicious. Each dish had a distinct color but the same taste. However, the service was good. We have no intention of returning.

Nice basic place with lovely food

Sauces had a lot of flavour but the chicken was extremely dry, and the onion bhaji’s were like hockey pucks. Disappointing!

I’m genuinely not even joking when I say this place does the nicest curry I’ve ever had. North Indian Garlic Chicken incredible as always. The mushroom rice amazing. The crisp flavourful onion bhaji, unbelievable. The mixed tandoori starter with the tender lamb, stupendous. Every single mouthful left me craving more. I ate the lot. Please order from this place if you haven’t before. It will change your life. Ooooooooh baby!!!

I thought on the 22nd of December we’d be in for a wait but it was delivered piping hot within 40 mins.Absolutely delicious too.

Food was delicious and hot. Ordered at 19:10 and delivery time was 1hr 45m, so book early on a Saturday, as this is a popular restaurant. With good reason.

The vegetable pakora was once again floppy and reheated not crispy or freshly made you can tell it’s reheated the rice was also not freshly made dry and had lumps in I understand it’s the first order of the evening but we don’t want old stuff reheated it’s not nice at all St John’s curry club need to sort that out they would never have sent food like this before their standards are dropping

The food wasn’t great this time if I’m honest. Chicken Bhuna was bland, naan bread was tough and chewy - as if it had been reheated. None of it was very hot (temperature). Shame as we have ordered from St John’s before and it has been brilliant.

St. John's Curry Club is on par with London's Brick Lane curry houses. If you love a curry I highly recommend you try St John's Curry Club. I like to try and not go to the same place twice but for St John's Curry Club I'm making an exception.

Food was good quality and tasty. Unfortunately it was cold, the rice was hard and a can of coke was missing. I had to phone to enquire on the delivery and it came 35 minutes late. For these reasons, I won’t order here again.

Omg, Best curry in the world!!!! The mysore chicken tikka makhani was lovely and creamy and tasty, the chicken succulent and bursting with flavour. The veg pakora is crispy (Other curry houses pakora are soggy and pastey) and compliments the dish just right! They come with a mint sauce that just explodes on your taste buds!!! (No other curry house makes this) I come in from Livingston just to pick it up. Its always hot! And the smell in the car is delicious! The staff are always professional and freindly. Best curry house in Edinburgh.

Been coming here for years and very aware of menu, so I have had lots, but just had N I Chilie garlic lamb and it was delicious ! Can’t get any better ☝️
