I made an online order. I called the restaurant to confirm because I had not ordered before and found the website unclear to use. When they answered they were rude over the phone and hung up on me without antler sort of clarification. They then called me back, to which I asked if my order went through which they said it had. Then an hour later they called me to tell me my order had in fact not come through to which they asked me to make an order over the phone and continue to wait upwards of an hour.

Simply the best Indian food in Edinburgh.. the rest is unimportant.

My first visit: It was an absolute nightmare, the lady at the reception/ till was very rude to me, and forgot to ask me if I wanted to eat in or take it away, once food was ready I brought my family in and she was upset that I didn’t tell her we were eating in. So after a good argument lasting 15 mins we agreed to eat in but with no plates and cutlery, straight from the takeaway boxes. Food was a little extra spicy but still tasted great. Second visit: This time we were greeted by a young gentleman, very polite but too talkative and over friendly. He was all about gossiping and didn’t pay attention to our order and get it slightly wrong also we asked that we get medium to less spicy food but he was too busy in his gossips that he forgot to pass the message to master chef and got it all wrong. The all over quality of food was still much better. Third visit: Regardless of the bad experience on the customer service we did liked the taste of the food produced so decided to visit again, I did finally managed to speak to the gentleman who looked like he was the son of the owner and highlighted all these concerns and requested him if he could look Into it and see if they can improve at all. He assured me that he will try his best to tackle these issues for a better customer service experience… Simple things like providing enough cutlery, plates proportionate to number of customers eating. Providing water jug / glasses for customer to have a sip of water drink while eating, so far they don’t offer any water with food. I can certainly assure if they paid a little extra attention towards the customer service they offer, undoubtedly they will have much better reputation in the town… All over food experience has been ok.

My go to place after a 12hr shift! Lamb karahie is best! Biryani needs to do more to be authentic Pakistani one!

Great food (super filling but not heavy) and run by a very talented entrepreneur. A one man team able to handle all your dining needs in regards to fast/friendly/efficient service (also a great choice for days when you will be walking around and dont want to feel like you swallowed a lead weight). This will be one of my go-to’s for the rest of this trip and every subsequent trip that I find myself in this lovely city. I just wish we had something close to this back at home… I would add a photo but I ate everything before the thought even occurred to me…

One of the few places that make proper keema (mincemeat) parathas. Tasty and authentic, which mat be a bit too spicy for some. Best eaten with yoghurt or raita. Parathas are quite lare and filling. They aloo (potato) paratha was a bit boring though.

Disappointing. I use to love this place 3yrs back but from the time they reopened after closing for 4months, the quality, taste of food have got down drastically. Their trademark biryani dish is no.more the best in Edinburgh. The flavours is dry and tasteless. I have tried many times thinking it could be one bad day but i have ended up having many days of bad food in last 2years. The shop survive only by good name gained over yrs and no better restaurant near by, but now is fast diminishing its value and trust.

If you are looking for good food ... this is the place... they deliver to city center... we dine in... small place ... only two to three tables.... owner is pakistani... speaks urdu .. hindi english... nice man and good food... dont expect anything more

Been eating here since I was 5 and I still do. The food is really good and fresh and the workers are lovely. In my opinion they make the best chicken tikka pizza in Edinburgh and would 100% recommend this takeaway to anyone.

The food was delivered in just under an hour. The portions were huge. It tasted ok. The chef uses lots of spices and oil which adds to the flavour.

Very bad service offered by the person at the front. The way he behaved looked that I am begging food from him. He doesn’t know how to welcome a customer, how to speak, what words he should have used. Very rude. If you want to enjoy your food and get quality service and food, don’t go to them!

Actually if there is an option to give the negative star rating i will definitely post that rating especially for this takeaway no proper service, no proper response, no proper communication with the customers, no proper bills, they will gonna charge you how they want as their mood swings this is strange and crazy, i have never seen such type of customer experience in my entire life especially they don’t know how to deal with customers, how serve the customers, seriously this is very strange takeaway ever i have seen in my life.

Good and affordable food in Edinburgh

Food is good standard and been using them for several years but it looks like the original front shop staff have left or no longer work here. The new staff are not that great. Also don’t use Foodhub to order - order directly from their website

The food isn't great, but what was far worse for us were the staff hanging up on us TWICE when enquiring about where our order was. Took 2 hours to arrive, was cold, one curry missing and the other curry not what we ordered. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

It's just an okay place। I took Lazeez special biriyani and chicken Tikka. Some nights if you don't feel like cooking ,you can take it once or twice from this place.

Now that was one of the best chicken kebabs ive every had amazingly tasty staff polite and friendly shop very clean deserves 6 STARS well done a pleasure to visit 😎👍👍👍

Absolutely poor customer service. Ordered at 7pm and food took 2 and a half hours to come and was awful when it arrived. I've been trying to get a refund but the staff member was very rude.

Microwaved and inedible, and thrown in the bin. Not nice at all and my first/last visit. The quality food promised was far from being delivered.

Great food. The owner used to be a chef at Kebab Mahal, Edinburgh. Similar food, just as authentic and good. A bit of a curiosity, they do not open on a Tuesday, which I found out one Tuesday evening, had to go elsewhere.

My father and I ordered a curry and waited in their exactly 1 hour no consideration of the customer being a pensioner and what we got was a sorry one of these places as long as they get the money fu** the customer . They are professionals at lying it's easy to say sorry, sorry is just a word to close the subject also many of their own community came and went with food and we were still waiting I hope this helps anybody reading this I don't know how the curry was I gave mines away I went of it

I have been going to Lazeez since 2005 with my parents and they’re good is always high quality and the owners are very nice and welcoming.

Avoid at all costs. Ordered Food came 1 and 1/2 hours later. Was cold and worst of all my kebab had a long thick black hair in it!!! Absolutely disgusting!! It was mixed in the mixture and I had to pull it out. Threw that and whatever else was ordered in the bin.

I had a curry on Saturday 6th it was lovely, the only thing I was dissapointed with was the vegetable dish (Potatoes with cauliflower) it was mainly potatoes and a very tiny amount of cauliflower for £3.75 I think it could have been better. It would not stop me having another curry from Lazeez, I just would make the vegetable dish myself.

Have ordered from here for years - barely had any issues with the service or the food. Last trip, they advised order would be 50 mins for collection, so I arrived 10 mins early. I waited 20 mins and ask where my food was and the front of house staff told me it's just being packed up. After telling me this again again every 5 mins, it was then 40 mins past when my order was due to be ready which is ridiculous. If I hard ordered for delivery (thank God I didn't) the order would have been well over 1 hour late. The food is also 4/10 compared to what it used to be. The rice in the biryani was not fully mixed as lots of white rice, the saag dishes were pretty much black mush as they had not used fresh spinach like they had always used before and it has no flavour or taste of texture. The okra dish was bland and full of huge tomatoes - it was the only place I used to order this dish in Edinburgh too but never again! I just got excuses on excuses and then the staff member hid in the kitchen so he wouldn't have to answer to me. Also offered no compensation or a complimentary drink or anything for an order that was over 40 MINUTES LATE! Clearly they chef and management have changed and it's a shell of what it used to be. Have been ordering here since the 2000s but never again. A lost ex-loyal customer.

This is our new favourite place to go. The food is always delivered piping hot and fresh. Staff are friendly and polite. The online ordering system is great and easy to use.

Place is outstanding when it comes to the food, it is just abit too oily however taste is on point. As for the decor, it is very disappointing. It was sad to to see that after months of being closed this shop did not invest a penny on updating the seating area , it still has the shabby chairs and tables that Is screaming bin me. As for this reason they have alot to do before rightfully being award 5 stars.

Amazing and delicious curries, authentic tastes and extras such as chapati, naan and homemade Indian deserts like Kheer are all so scrumptious. Every dish I've ever had here is great. Particularly good is the tarka daal and the Chicken Bhuna. Wonderfully friendly staff, definitely well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed. I cannot eat curry anywhere else in the city.

Very poor customer service. I ordered a delivery at 18:00 and 20:11 now and still not arrived. The customer service was very poor. I got told delivery would arrive within an hour then got told 1 hour and 20 mins later that it’s on it’s way to me, still nothing so i called back and then got told my food wasn’t even ready. The guy that answered the call couldn’t even understand me and kept lying to me. This is not how u treat ur customers. Absolut joke. I might as well order from somewhere else as I might not even get my food tonight!

We had a couple of vegetable mains. Our food was far hotter than anyone sane would make those dishes. We were hungry so I ate mine and have indigestion, my partner cried, and then washed the sauce off hers in a sieve to be able to eat some of it. First and last time we go there. No idea why it has so many stars, must be a lot of heavy smokers in the area!

Our place for tikka masala. No other place beats it.

The food here usually reminds me of an authentic North Indian restaurant food. That's something of an achievement in itself being located in Edinburgh. They also provide sumptuous quantity to boot. The wait time is too high though. Doesn't affect me as I live nearby. But it's something to consider.

I Still remember, my university days back in 2010 .. whenever I missed my punjabi food, I visit this place with my friends and enjoyed perfect punjabi food here. This place is having the best blend of spices. Service is excellent and I remember lady from the staff ..don't know the name,, very humble and caring. Love this place for best punjabi food in Edinburgh, Scotland :)

Lovely food. Spicey for locals and Pakistanis because most of their food is south Indian style. I think the majority of their customers are from south India and that might be the reason. Customer service is not good.

they take forever to prepare the food but it's totally worth it! the chick pea masala is the bomb and the aloo gobi is a close contender. the roti's are massive and the aloo paratha is also worth mentioning. overall, it's a good place to take away from!
