Curry Cafe in Edinburgh, City of

No joke im worried! First time in Edinburgh and the kebab was that tough it offered me outside

I think the dishes are okay. But I had to pay more than I expected

I ordered one balti prawn curry and 2 fried rice from this restaurant. The balti curry didn't even feel it was nice to taste . So I ordered another two curries again ( the chilli garlic one of prawn and chicken) from this restaurant. It was showing on the deilveroo it'll be delivered in 35 mins . I called the restaurant later they said it's on the way , will be delivered in 10-15 mins . No sign of food again and I called them back a guy asked my postcode he said the driver is nearby like 5 mins it'll be there . At 11 they closed the restaurant and went home , i tried to reach them but didn't pick up . I got my food after 1 and half hour . If it was going to be late they could've mentioned it rather saying like in 5 - 10 mins it'll be delivered. Never gonna order from here again

Got delivery and the food was amazing, we got butter chicken and dopiaza with pilau rice, chapati, and a few sides as well!! Curry’s were so hot and honestly best indian food we’ve had in a while. The delivery was very quick and the delivery guys were so nice as well thank you :)

The most friendly staff and the most delicious food! We celebrated a birthday here and they made it extra special. My curry was amazing and the naan was outstanding. Thank you so much, we will be back!!!

The restaurant was unsanitary the bathroom was disgusting! Food wasn’t very good I ended up with a very sore belly and up all night being sick The staff was next to nonexistent The atmosphere was dead nobody came in at all we were the only people in and we were in for well over an hour I’m sorry but we WILL NOT be back

Excelente curry y un servicio increíble. Tuve cordero bhuna Nan un d arroz de hongos. Todo completamente perfecto y fantásticamente hecho. El cordero se estaba desmoronando y tan tierno.

traffic was terrible so driver a bit late but food lovely as always

the order showed delivered before delivery and had to call the restaurant to update that it wasn't. then they changed it to 'delivering' and was another 10 mins late. gave one pepsi max while i ordered two regulars. burgers, fries were soggy and burgers patty's n nuggets were pretty low quality. i wish it wasn't so late and i had checked the box, i would have sent it back. curries might be good here but never try burgers or fries. sorry but a horrible experience.

I love this place... Definitely one of the very best currys in Edinburgh! The staff are great and all really friendly! But most of all the food is amazing!!!

One of the best curries I’ve ever had, really nice and crispy bhajis and the service was very warm and welcoming.

food was never delivered not the restaurants fault but not happy cant comment on food quality as was never received.

Even though we stopped for dinner at a late hour (10.40pm), the very kind owner welcomed us with a smile! Also very good food especially their Naan which is stellar!

First impressions when I walked in was there was a table filled with half eaten food I thought nothing of it and placed my order and went away came back the table of half eaten food was still sitting there not cleared.. When I opened my pakora portion of chicken and fish at my accommodation fish was slimy and chicken was rubbery food didn't even come with pakora sauce knock off sauce avoid at all cost. So many better options around Leith walk.

Ordered a few times and has always been quick, tasty and good value. Had a curry for the first time tonight (lamb rogan josh) and it was delicious! Also the garlic naan had a nuclear amount of garlic on which is the perfect amount 👌

I ordered chilli garlic chicken and got lumps of chicken in that basic curry sauce that basically had extra chilli powder added. Not a single green chilli or scrap of onion to be seen. Hot, bitter and no actual flavour. The luxury lemon cheesecake was a chunk of stale lemon sponge cake. What a joke! Previous orders have been good but today was absolutely rank.

WE ORDERED "Deluxe Meal For 2 Persons" VERY GOOD VINDALOO. MANGO LASSI ALSO GOOD. DONNER KEBAB WAS OK - BIT THICKLY CUT. DOPIAZA WAS SO SO. NAAN WAS GOOD. STARTERS WERE BETTER THAN MOST.

Went there with ma mate and the food was good and had no complaints. The manager was friendly and I'd recommend it. Not to expensive either

Unfortunately the food (chicken korma) was inedible. It tasted excessively like sugar. I felt sick after the first spoonful, even though I can actually eat anything and don't have many demands. My partner couldn't eat it either, which was a shame. But the rice was okay and so was the portion size.

The kebab I bought I can taste the oil on it. It shouldn't be like that totally disgusting. If I wasn't on a bus heading home I'd get my money back totally not worth it even with alcoholic poisoning involved

We order every week. They have been closed for a few weeks as they had technical problems, and we have missed Curry Cafe so bad!!!! I really like their lentils dishes and naam bread, just the best of the area. Price is really fair as everything tastes good and the portions are good. Addicted!

Best Indian restaurant in town!! The food is simply delicious, the delivery fast and the staff friendly and extremely helpful. In case something you've ordered is not available, they call you and offer other options. The food, well, just impossible to resist. My partner and I are now addicted to this restaurant and we order take away ot out at least once a week. Highly recommended!

I clearly asked for not spicy food but was served spicy - that I am allergic to. After a couple of bites - as the waitress kept saying there was not spicy - I just sent the dish back. After I made it clear I was not going to pay for that, they suggested having korma chicken. I reluctantly accepted, however I felt sick during the night and the day after I woke up with a rash over my torso. Food poisoning?

My wife and I have been ordering takeaways from Curry Cafe for years. We've always seen it as a real 'hidden gem'. However, in the last few months it has become pretty terrible. Curries now have hardly any meat in them, if you take a deal with a free drink then you will not get the drink you selected, they don't have simple menu items that have been ordered (mixed kebab) and send instead a spring roll (not even Indian food). Such a shame, and we will miss it. but we will not be ordering again.

Most of the food was lovely. Naan, mushroom and pilau rice, the mater paneer and onion bhajis all lovely. The Saag paneer had a nice taste but the spinach had been blended so had consistency more of a palek paneer which isn't my sort of thing. I'd suggest the description needs additional context.

I don’t get food from here often cos I always forget about it but it’s lovely and the family/workers are lovely people. It’s nice to support a family biz. The food was absolutely delicious and the lamb Balti was bursting with flavour and the quality of the lamb was great and great portion sizes as well. All the food I was very impressed by and enjoyed joyfully. Only thing, It was a little late but I didn’t mind that much, but the driver was so sweet and polite and very apologetic. My hands down go to place for Indian food now!

Went here on a very wet Wednesday for a bit of flavour and heat . Was not disappointed. Chose a different curry tonight. Normally, I have the madeas but went for rogan josh tonight and it was amazing. So tasty and just spicy enough. Love this wee gem on Leith Walk!
