The Seven Stars in South Staffordshire

There were 11 of us and we were looked after really well by Tommy, who was friendly, efficient and had a good sense of humour. The food was really good and we had a great time. Our only complaint is that yet again, the steak puddings had run out. This was the second visit in two weeks for me and my husband and the pudding was off both times. On this latter occasion, the chicken pie had also run out. Make more pies!!!! We really like this place and visit often. There is no other place we know of nearby which has such consistently good food. I absolutely love chips and they are really good here - actual real potatoes, peeled and cooked, not the frozen variety favoured by so many other eateries. Please keep up the good work!

We went for Sunday lunch, metup with family there as a halfway point. Delicious food, excellent service. Tommy looked after us, he was brilliant, very friendly and helpful.. Will definitely go back.

A lovely venue and excellent food. The service is slow if you do not dine in the restaurant as we had to remind staff we were there to eat. Overall a really nice pub as most paragon pubs are. Would recommend

Saturday night and extremely busy. The food was of excellent quality. We did have some issues but our server was very attentive and the manager, James, resolved them in a very professional manner. We will definitely return.

Mother’s Day visit so expected it to be busy but was completely rammed, obviously completely overbooked. Took 25 minutes for our table to be ready. Other people waiting too. Too long to wait for 2 courses (we were there for 2 hrs) didn’t even attempt coffees! Small portions and overpriced. Normally love the 7 Stars so very disappointing.

We went to celebrate Mothers Day and my Mums 80th birthday. Head office had completely over booked - the food awful - we could have done better at home. We waited an hour between our starter and main. In fairness the Manager and Head Bar lady were very apologetic and gave us a £100 refund - ie we paid for drinks but not food. This was supposed to be the end to a really lovely weekend of celebrations and ruined it!! We were regulars but won't be going again!!

Booked in for Mother’s Day, venue over booked, waited 1.5 hours for main course which didn’t arrive, asked for manager twice, manager did eventually speak to us and stated meal probably forgotten and disappeared and never returned. My daughter then spoke to another member of staff who said it could possible be another 15 mins…. We then decided to leave. Absolutely awful customer service.

Booked a table with my two sons for Mother's Day, only to find out when we arrived that there was "at least" a 30 minute wait for a table and that the kitchen was struggling to keep up with orders, with a further delay of "at least" 30minutes on food. There was initially no apology, we were just asked to stand in a packed bar. Unbelievable that The Seven Stars decided to over book to put profits above customers on a special day! We opted to leave. They clearly can't be relied on. As a local, I'll be spending my money elsewhere in future!

We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and shown to our booked table. chose from the extensive menu, and our food was served promptly. It was tasty and well-presented; we also enjoyed desserts Staff were all friendly and efficient, and the venue had a pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.

Been twice this month for the first time . Firstly for my birthday with friends in the teepee . Great server called Tom - food was stunning . Lovely atmosphere . Secondly for my husbands birthday with family . Good lovely , couple minor issues which were sorted straight away with another fab server didn't catch his name ! Service was great on both occasions . Passionfruit gin was really nice and food again really tasty ! Would recommend for a special occasion!

The food was fine, with adequate portion sizes and quality. Too many customers for the amount of staff on duty hence very lengthy waits between courses. The Severn Stars operates the service charge, which you can remove from the bill, but they don't advise it's on there. You have to find it yourselves. A gratuity is a personal choice and doesn't need sneaking on to bills. This shows an underhand attitude.

We visit on a regular basis with family and friends, Last night we came for valentine's dinner, we sat in the tipi absolutely beautiful it made what had been a lovely day even nicer. The staff and food were to the usual high standards. Thankyou

We came for my Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 10th February and it was fantastic. We had taken balloons and flowers to go on the table early on in the day and when we arrived everything was out and looked lovely! Nothing seemed to much to ask for. We had a waiter serving us who stated it was his first shift (I can’t remember his name) but he was fantastic! Very attentive and smiley which made our experience even better. The food was exceptional! We all ordered starters as well as mains and everything came out together and hot. There were no complaints as we all loved what we had- very tasty! And big portions…especially the pie. I just want to thank all the staff who served us on Saturday! It made my Grandparents special day even better and it was lovely to have the family all together!

Decided to go for lunch with my partner and parents for an early birthday celebration for my mum, I recommended The Seven Stars as we’ve always had good food and service there. This time, however we left pretty disappointed and I felt a little embarrassed for recommending. Saturday lunchtime so was fairly busy but not swamped and we were seated in the bar area - absolutely fine, table had been booked but we were 20 mins early. Drinks order taken and we also requested a jug of tap water for the table. Received drinks but not water. The food took quite a while after ordering, but we weren’t in a rush so not a problem. We had to request the water a further 3 times before being bought to the table. Food turned up, the burger my partner ordered had been mistakenly taken by the waiter as the lunchtime ‘light bites’ burger, rather than from the main menu which he had ordered, so a smaller portion. Which would’ve been ok if it had not looked like a child’s portion. For £13. Not even any garnish, just a small burger and little pot of fries. My mother’s Bombay niçoise salad was missing the sweet potato (first and main ingredient in the menu) so had to request it separately from the kitchen. The young waiter who made the error with the burger order did come over to apologise and offer if we wanted to purchase a second burger which was politely declined. We did appreciate him apologising though. All in all we left feeling disappointed, not the usual standard of service and food we have had from a paragon pub.

Disappointing Sunday lunch. Slow service, wine spilt on table and mopped it up myself with our serviettes, as no one came to do it. When roast Turkey arrived there was no stuffing and not asked if we required any sauces, food was only warm When we visited in December everything was superb so we thought we would return with another friend. Lovely restaurant but sadly let down by the service. I was left waiting nearly 10 minutes for a spoon for my soup and then the male manager had split our order into 2 by mistake so my sons dinner came out and 15 minutes later we were still waiting for the other 3 meals.. I notified them and they explained what had happened and the other meals did arrive but my son had finished his by this point and it ruined having a nice meal together. The food was actually lovely but for the price and automatic service charge I’d expect better.

This is a lovely place to have a great roast. We all had the turkey with all the trimmings. Fantastic quality and all cooked to perfection. Thank you for a lovely meal at the end of a busy day. We’ll be back 😊

Called in for lunch with my son. Hadn't booked, but the front of house made us welcome and found us a table. Service was extremely slow, however the main course was lovely. We would of stayed for desert, but were conscious of time, given how long the main course took to arrive.

What a fantastic venue. I’ve just held my 40th birthday party in the Tipi and what a great event it was. Beautiful venue, fabulous food, good choice of drinks and helpful staff. Could not recommend highly enough.

Very disappointed .. not the first time we have had a bad experience at Seven Stars. When greeted on arrival, it was acknowledged that my partner has a nut and seafood allergy before we were seated but it seemed once we were seated and with our hostess, none of the usual checks we have been asked previously were completed so this was a little worrying so we kept to the same mark choice that we have ordered previously. A couple arrived after ourselves and were served their starters before us ..For our main meals, we asked for them to come without tomato or mushrooms but arrived with both on the plate so were returned back to kitchen. When our meals were returned to us, my sirloin was cooked to the point of there being charcoal on my plate and my partners fillet was rare - when we had both asked for them to be cooked medium so once again returned to kitchen. On our last visit on 23/9, we asked if we could have a few onion rings to replace the tomato and mushroom from our mains, we were advised not a problem - when we asked if the same could happen on this occasion we were abruptly told this would never be allowed. Our replacement meals were fine with no complaints but the lengthy wait times that seem to happen no matter when you book a table coupled with having to return meals more than once …we will not be returning to Seven Stars

Fantastic service for 17 people and the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble, regarding seating arrangements and birthday cake cutting. Would definitely recommend.

This was a pit stop on a long journey - it was WOW - the food was delicious, the service was exceptional and the whole experience was 5*. The waiting staff are all so lovely and really focussed on delivering a great experience, the decor is really beautiful and the food was amazing. We had pork belly, king prawn stroganoff, then steak and chicken leek and ham pie. The tarragon sauce was exceptional. The kids enjoyed their steaks too. All cooked to perfection. Sadly no room for dessert but it looked amazing on the next table! We would travel here on purpose now, definitely worth a visit.

Very accommodating for a late booking. The pub was very busy but the staff were friendly and attentive. Good choice of roasts and a fantastic amount of veg - the cauliflower cheese was superb. Generous portions and tasty food (with impressive yorkshire puddings). We will definitely be back.

After dining at the Seven Stars for years, we had the worst experience to date last Sunday. We were stuck right in front of a window in the most over crowded room, it was sweltering in there, people everywhere, when there was clearly more room around the restaurant for people to be more spread out but they crammed us all into the one area? We were sat right infront of a huge window which was giving no shade, no window was open or a door, we had my 2 year old with us who was burning up from how hot it was in there. Our Sunday dinner came after an hour of waiting, the meat was cold, they had ran out of something we had ordered as a side, my partner couldn’t even touch his food as he was so hot and bothered and past hunger at this point. After having to leave hungry we then got charged the full amount which I think was disgusting as we didn’t even finish any of the meals. We had no apologies, we had asked a member of staff if they could open a door and nobody did so. So very dissatisfied and will never be coming back again.
