Excellent find! Very appealing shop front and though small, really pleasant inside. We had a warm welcome from a young lady who took our order promptly. Our flat white and tea were very good. It was our first visit to Downham Market, a pleasant small town so when we go back we will revisit The Seat.

I am very passionate about this place. Even though it is tiny, it is where I go for the most nourishing, best flavoured soup in the world. Even though the menu is limited, it is the taste of the food that counts. Here everything you eat is made with attention to flavour. The staff are friendly, prompt, and reliable. The decor is simple, no frills, but there is a lovely atmosphere and a great smell of good coffee. The place is always full!!!!

Very claustrophobic inside, way too small for a coffee shop and the coffee cups are tiny unless you pay more for a large. Bit of an odd food menu too, nothing too enticing. A little disappointing.

Had a lovely coffee and cake here today, as soon as I walked through the door it felt very welcoming and cosy. Loved all the natural decorations! Coffee was good and treats were very tempting!

As regular customers for lunch on Saturdays my partner and I have noticed that the service has got worse. If the owner isn’t there, the young staff who despite doing their best, leave customers for ages before taking orders and don’t notice when customers need them. Today we received our beers but no glasses, then we waited 50 mins for 2 basic mains and a side dish, they came followed by our cutlery. The food is good and the staff are lovely but it’s clear there weren’t enough doing front of house and probably the kitchen, as we weren’t alone waiting ages today. We want to support it as an independent restaurant but the really slow service is putting us off.

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣
