Walked through the door to be shouted at " No Dogs in Here". That's fair enough I understand not all places allow dogs, but there are only signs that say dogs on leads and clear up after your pet, nothing that says No Dogs in the cafe. We left and went elsewhere. No need to be that brusque.

Lovely food yet rude waitress, felt like I was at school rude rude lady barking at me firstly to ask if I had a reservation "HELLO are you booked or not" then to sit down "take a seat now then ill be over for drinks" and then it was "YES can I get you drinks please madame" "Are you ready for food now please!" Overall felt quite intimidated by the overbearing lady, she would have been lovely if volume and harshness was turned down a few notches . However food was lovely we had ploughman's and the gammon so thumbs up to the cook. Shop nice too.

We had lunch in the Scrumpy House following a tour of the Cider Mill, as part of a package. We chose the ploughman's and weren't disappointed. This included 3 delicious cheeses and a lovely chutney. The kitchen doesn't use nuts which meant that there was a wide range of desserts suitable for someone with a nut allergy. There was also a good choice of gluten free options. We were so impressed with the food that we returned a few days later for breakfast. We would definitely recommend the Full English.

I received a voucher for Christmas for a Sunday Lunch (Two Course) and a Tour of the Cider Mill. We chose to have our lunch first at 12:30 - the two courses are main and dessert and on the day the options for Sunday Roast were beef or pork. The food was lovely and the venue had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The service was good and the drinks were reasonably priced. After our lunch we toured the mill and then sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine before heading off. I thought this venue was good and if you are in the area or planning on doing a tour of the mill I would recommend adding this on as part of your visit.

Food is tasty, good ingredients and quality. Let down by vegetables not being included. For example steak pie and chips only and have to purchase bowl of fresh vegetables separately at extra cost. Service could be improved and be more flexible when request for slight change from menu (peas instead of egg wasn’t allowed )We asked to move tables due to cold wind from door being continuously opened but wouldn’t accommodate.

Starter was lovely and well worth the money compared to what most restaurant charge for starters. The mains were Sunday Roast and they were ok but one small dish of vegetables and cauliflower cheese was not enough to share between 4 Adults. Average Sunday roast would not bother to go out of our way again. Waited for over 30 minutes after asking if we would like to see the sweet menu ,then had to go and ask for it ourselves.

We came here after our tour at the Cider Mill, as we had some passes for a half pint after our tour. It was always my intention to have lunch there as well, however, it had slipped my mind that it was a Sunday and it did not occur to me that they would serve Sunday roast and that it would be fully booked. Nevertheless, they fitted us in to a spare table after waiting for about 10-15 mins. During this time, we had a look at the menu and ordered our roast beef and got our drinks. I had the Family Reserve, while my husband had the Stowford Press (with our tickets), then we were seated, and within minutes, our food came soon after. Little did we know that it was huge portions, together with a massive Yorkshire pudding! Amazing portion of roast beef, cooked to perfection (I like mine medium-rare), with fantastic fresh veg which was not made up of the normal peas and carrots (they had green leafy veg, with steamed courgettes and peas), and a separate gravy pot of delicious gravy. All for just £9.95. Fantastic deal, awesome sumptuous food, together with fresh gorgeous cider, and brilliant first-class service! What more can you ask for! Would definitely come back here again just for hte food alone!

We brought my folks & brother and our 14 month-old boy with us, who slept through our entire meal (result!), then woke up once we'd eaten, so after that he charmed the patrons, and even made himself a new, future wife!! Lots of choice on food, good roasts, great value for your cash. The whitebait/prawn starter was fab. Service great, only two girls on for an evidently busy shift, but both did well and were attentive but not intrusive.Very beautiful venue, combined with the cider museum/distilery shop selling products. For families, there are shire horses and a play park, which is fantastic and makes for a lovely family day out!For anybody visiting Ledbury or the local area, this place is worth a visit.

Booked a table later on a Sunday, restaurant had been busy earlier and staff were a bit stretched; but warm welcome. Good roast at a reasonable price and the 2 course lunch inc pudding is a good deal; but starters are a little over-priced for size.Good value bottle of wine and obviously, good choice of cider!Good value for money - apart from starters.

Lovely food, beautiful surroundings, fantastic service from the staff who were a very happy bunch. Credit to all the team and this local Herefordshire business

I absolutely love being in this place and it has a beautifully calm feel. However I am totally astonished by the dolls-house size servings for lunch- at normal lunch prices. I almost asked them if they hadn’t accidentally given me a kiddie’s portion - for a cheaper price- as for over £9 I got two slices of delicious small rye toast, about 7 very small lettuce leaves, 4 olives and a small pot of delicious dip. All very tasty but absolutely not a main course. I know I these are locally sourced ingredients but this felt really wrong. I will definitely return for post lunch coffees but will make sure to eat somewhere else where I can fuel up for lunch before hand.

Pleasant surroundings outside, unfortunately the food was not too a very high standard. Ham and piccalilli sandwich, ham tasteless (wafer thin and breaded, supermarket family pack springs to mind). Should have been advertised as a Piccalilli sandwich, Coffee was fine.

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The menu was varied but not too much choice. We opted for jacket potato and a flat bread. Fresh and well presented.

Been to this lovely pub for Sunday lunch many times, never disappoints. Everything about this place is positive from the lovely friendly staff who can't do enough for you. It is a welcome throwback to how a local pub used to be, a real gem, long may it continues.
