Unwelcoming couple owners who were quite unbelievably rude and would not even let us use the toilet during our visit. Avoid at all costs.

We were recommended to visit The Schoolhouse Gallery by friends in Inverness and were not disappointed - The welcome from Kevin & Cathy was great, they could not do enough for you. The bedrooms were very clean, attractive, comfortable and the set up for the DIY in a breakfast room was a great idea and seems to have gone down well with previous guest. Look forward to our next visit

Lovely quality arts and crafts on offer here, with simple but delicious coffee and cakes. Well worth a visit, and great to chat with the delightful couple who run it. We were there daily for morning coffee, and ended up buying some lovely items too. Excellent !

There's a well stocked shop and post office in this charming little village but its "cherry on top of its cake" is The Schoolhouse Gallery, with a superb selection of artistic works, cards, great little cakes and coffee; and very friendly service.

This is a great gallery . With many art pieces which will take you back in time and also inspire you to go forward. My favourite gallery on our trip. I came home inspired to try out some art and wanted to buy many items. Oh and you can buy a cup of coffee but don't expect more, but it is worth sitting and taking in the gallery.

Stopped in for coffee and walked away with loads of helpful information about the local area. Don't miss the Schoolhouse Gallery if you are even just passing by Dornie.

We found the Dornie Schoolhouse & Tearoom's claim "to have a relaxed and informal cafe atmosphere with good coffee and a small selection of freshly baked scones and cakes to be something of an exaggeration". I submit many, many Trip Advisor reviews, 99% of them positive, but I could not do that for the Schoolhouse Tearoom in Dornie. We were looking for a nice relaxed sit down, a cup of tea and a nice traybake or cake. The gentleman who was most unfriendly and unwelcoming - as though we'd disturbed him in his own sitting room - did nothing to win us over. When we asked what food was available he pointed to two very tiny and overprices Danish pastries in a showcase, along with some fancy and equally over-priced macaroons. That was it. When I asked where we'd sit, he pointed to low wooden boxes on the floor with a table that looked suited only to children, or outside at the back....where it was cold and drizzling. Sitting is a major issue for me, and neither of these options, especially given the weather and the limited choice of food gave us any reason to stay. We left and found exactly what we wanted at the wonderful Jac-O-Bite just a mile or so along the road. This may be an arty gallery, and it may have been obvious to this gentleman we were not interested in anything in the gallery, but if someone is going to run a tearoom or café alongside their 'hobby' they have to make far more of an effort than this.

Amazing coffee and lovely friendly atmosphere served by Mary. Also offers artwork by local artists and jewellery and cards. Great stop off for coffee when out hiking or visiting the Dornie area.

We had visited lots of gallery/gift shops and tea rooms during our holiday but this was the best. The tea and coffee were excellent. There was a lot of varied local art work to browse through and many tempting gifts to buy.

We stopped here on a journey back from Skye as we spotted the sign from the road and the lovely riverside location. We were warmly greeted on arrival and we choose to sit out in the lovely swing seat in the garden space overlooking the water. We ordered some tea and coffee and macaroons as we waited a short time for some freshly baked Danish pastries - these arrived directly from the oven and were absolutely delicious. No sign of shop bought goodies here !The gallery space inside was very charming and had some very interesting art ( both local & further afield)We will be back next time we are in the area and highly recommend stopping by.

Despite its claim to be both it's neither really, which is such a shame.....Too half-hearted with its catering and lack of savouries and home-bake(Sadly they committed the cardinal sin in providing dry scones and shop bought danish pastries-NO!!!! )to be considered a proper tearoom and too thin on the ground with art and saleables to be considered a gallery.BUT it offers a cosy space to linger over a pot of tea/coffee.Could definitely be a rival to the discerning Eilleann Donan visitor if a bit more effort were made.

Very good food and typical Scottish decor. Service was very attentive and friendly. The chef knows his craft. The steak, for the non-fish eater, was a treat.

We went for takeaway before getting ferry to Stornoway. Ordered an egg roll and bacon and egg roll. On opening when we got to our car we could not believe how poor they looked. Toasted stake rolls, overdone fried eggs and overdone bacon. Will not go back to this cafe again!

Popped in here recently on a trip through Wick to Dunnet Head - Got a cheese & tuna toastie and a latte which were both excellent. Owners were really friendly and the price reasonable considering the location - Have a feeling they could charge 2/3 times the price - being on the NC 500 - but choose not to. Will certainly return.

Visited today and ordered 2 drinks and 2 steak pie dinners. Service was fine but we could not eat the food. The meat was inedible. We couldn't cut it never mind chew it. The young waiter returned it to the kitchen, returned to apologise and agrred with us. Then he said there will be no charge... ....... really. Why would we pay when we had no food. Left and went elsewhere.
