Lovely location. Children played in their playground then we went for lunch. Two chickens fish and chips. One ham eggs and chips. Service was good. Portion size was huge. More than happy to return and also recommend. Meals were delicious.

We haven’t had fish and chips from here for many months but feel that the quality has dropped significantly. The fish was good but the majority of chips were either totally black or had black bits in them. The potatoes they are using are obviously very old and not pleasant to eat. Such a shame.

Have eaten here many times for years and have always been really happy with the food and the service, however today my wife was served with a baguette that was obviously not fresh and she had to leave most of it, we queried whether we were expected to pay but were made to feel awkward as if we were not able to tell when bread is stale, a little disappointing after all these years.

I have been here a few times before but the cafe has been extended since my last visit (into the fish and chip shop which used to be at the end of the building) and is now huge. I ordered a cheese and tomato omelette from the extensive menu and a Becks lager and both were served quickly and were delicious - the cost was £15. This place does get popular so you may end up parking on the road rather than the car park - the former route of the A36. And there is a smell of the pigs outside - if you are a 'city type' you might find that offensive!

Mostly had an enjoyable time this lunchtime…however after the 2 of us shown to table of 4, I asked if we could sit in a booth? There were 4 available (out of 6) and were told only parties of 4 could sit there. Only 5 minutes later, a party of 2 were shown to one of these booths…😏. Our stay lasted just under an hour and even when we left there were still 3 available booths ( that had been free and unused for the whole time) When I raised this with another member of staff when we left, I was told it was because of the busy lunch time. I mean, it was busy but the space was still there plus we were placed on a table for 4 anyway…go figure It’s put me off but would have to credit the kitchen cos the quiche was yum

We have been here a few times this year, either for coffee & cake or last week for sandwich lunch I do not agree with some comments about the extension to the cafe I / we think its great !! Love the "booths" at the end, very cosy & intimate Today I had my favourite, Prawn Sandwich, super My wife had the Salmon Salad from the Specials Board, wow , she loved it, so much salmon & lots of salad, a plate full Certainly you have needed the extra space, & you are filling it That's because you give ample portions, never go hungry here Also, your staff They are very busy but always with a cheerie smile We will be back very soon

They have opened a huge eating area which spoils the place completely. From being a lovely rustic cafe/restaurant with great food the new part is like a canteen and the greasy smell of frying food was overwhelming. Ordered scampi and chips which came with aioli mayonnaise and asked for tartare sauce. Extra charge £1.75 for a small pot. No thanks. Baked potatoes and sandwiches £9 albeit they come with some crisps, salad and coleslaw. You are having a laugh! You have totally spoiled the whole place. I was embarrassed in front of my friends by the greasy smell and the fact that I had told them it was lovely but now I certainly won’t be back.

We have all really enjoyed meals at Whiterow but sadly this time it wasn't great. They have just opened a new area which is nice and bright however, we ordered the same meals we usually have but when the wait staff took the order she did seem a bit muddled (she seemed nice but possibly was new). 3 of the meals came out together and then the last one came out a few minutes later (not an issue really). The worst bit though was that the chips were terrible. Really dry, not sure if they had been reheated or under a heat lamp too long as they inedible really. When the waitress came over to ask if everything was okay we did say that the chips weren't very good and she didn't really know what to say so just apologised for it. I think it's the first time i've ever said anything in a restaurant and we definitely aren't ones to complete but they were not good. At the end when the plates were collected we had left most of the chips and no comment was made about it. Overall the fish was still nice and portion size was good but we don't live that close and it's doubtful if we'll go back due to the disappointing chips and no acknowledgement of any issue.

Very disappointed, ordered fish and chips and two drinks only take away available but could use the shed when a glass was requested told not allowed for takeaway I think that paying over £ 30.00 for fish and chips at least a plastic glass could be offered was eventually offered two glasses. When the fish and chips were ready after a bizarre routine of ordering in the shop given an alarm then going to the window for them we found that the fish was very dry and the batter was like a cardboard overcoat. We have been going to whiterow since it opened but never again very sad.

Sad to say cooked breakfast was overpriced and average at best. My wife ordered 2 poached eggs on toast, What she got was 1 poached egg 1 hard boiled egg and a mouthful of eggshell . Craftily the hard egg was place under the poached egg. Mentioned it to the waitress who tbf couldn't give a Monkies !!! With coffee that was poor it came to £24 ... I know times are difficult but come on guys bit of pride in your work....

I ordered take-away fish and chips for two and was given a buzzer that would alert me as I waited in my car when my order was ready. After waiting more than twenty minutes I returned to query the length of my wait (it was not busy); the buzzer sounded as I reached the door of the shop. I was told I had been buzzed five times (the buzzer had not sounded while I was in my car - clearly for whatever reason there is a range issue) and that a member of staff had looked for me in the car park (obviously they had not looked very far). I seemed not to be believed that the buzzer did not work and, when I queried whether my food would still be hot if they had spent some time supposedly buzzing and looking for me, I was glibly told my food would still be hot and no offer was made to replace my order with fresh food. After a very short drive home I discovered the inevitable: the food was lukewarm and inedible. £24 had been wasted. My last visit to Whiterow Fish and Chips.

We went to buy 1 take away fish and chips and 1 adult scampi. What can I say? pretty poor really given the two cost £24. 7 scampi of which one was so deep fried it was burnt and chips that whilst hot, were under cooked. Had we not driven home to Warminster I would have sent them back. The fish was OK but again portion size seems to have fish cooked as a portion not your normal piece of fish. I wouldn't recommend given its so expensive and that price tag is not justified.

Called in for a fish and chip takeaway. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, thinking our dinner would be lovely, as we presumed cooked to order. We arrived home in under 5 minutes to enjoy our dinner. Sorry, let me rephrase that..... Fish was cold and rubbery, batter dark brown, chips cold and soggy. As for our large mushy peas, cold and certainly not large! For the price charged you should at least expect the meal to be hot. No more visits to Whiterow Farm Shop, we'll pay less and get better quality from our local chippy!

We have used Whiterow Farm Cafe to meet friends for a number of years and until yesterday have always received a warm welcome and good service. There were four of us who met up as usual at 11am yesterday. We ordered coffee (which arrived at 11.20am) and declined the invitation to order food at that point as it was our intention to stay for lunch. At 12 noon the waitress arrived at our table (having been sent by the supervisor) requesting that if we were not intending to order more drinks and food then we would be asked to leave as the table was required for lunch. We reluctantly ordered more drinks having only just finished the first ones and we were at that point still in the middle of catching up. Having been made to feel so unwelcome we decided against ordering lunch and went to the friendly local village pub where we spent most of the afternoon. Beckington Farm shop cafe is far from the place it used to be and has become far too commercialised and greedy. We will not return but I don't suppose they care if we do or not.

Visited today at 1 o’clock for two Takeaway Kids portions ( we are in our mid 80’s!,) After a short wait we placed our order with a very pleasant lady, who gave us beeper to hail us when ready. In less than 10 minutes they were ready. We have been here many times over the years and today’s meals were generous and provided beautiful battered Cod and tasty chips. A real pleasure. Thank you Whiterow. Ralph and Leila Butcher

While slightly more expensive than other fish & chip shops in the area the quality of the food and the service makes up for this. We visited on Valentine’s Day and my wife went for the lobster dish and I had scampi and chips and both dishes were delicious. Highly recommended

Visited the restaurant after checkung out the farm shop which is excellent, lots of artisan priducts and not badly priced.. Daugjter had the fish soup that had loads of salmon and cod with a lovely sauce. The garlic aoili was nice as was the other dip. The croutins werent very nice as they were soft so perhaps a nice chunk of crusty bread would be better. I had the fishcakes, 2 massive ones which was a surprise and really nice tartare sauce. However the chips were absolutely awful. The worst Ive had at a restaurant. Plus there were so many of them. Fluffy porato with a crispy coating would lead me ti give this place 5 stars. £25 for two including drinks was very reasonable. We'll be back but might give the chips a swerve.

I love the fact everything is cooked fresh to order and the fish was lovely tasting but that was where the good things ended. The batter was too thin on the fish, the curry sauce was odd and the chips were very chunky but they tasted bland.

We stayed for one night after Xmas shopping at the Clark’s village in Street. This lovely Inn with rooms is only 5 miles away. The welcome and check in from the lady at the desk were fantastic. She was naturally polite and helpful, not put on at all. Our room was very clean and spacious with everything we needed and lots of hot water for a relaxing bath. Homemade cookies were a nice touch too. We ate in the pub and can also say that this was a lovely experience with great food and a roaring fire. All staff were very friendly and provided fantastic service. Breakfast the next morning was also great with locally sourced ingredients. We will return, Thank you.

My wife and I both have Shepton connections but had never been to the cafe before. Having g recently retired, we called in for a toasty and a sandwich. The food selection is brilliant, prices really reasonable (no £8 sandwiches here), and the staff really friendly. Sadly, the cafe is up for sale but we really hope to get the chance to return before it closes or goes upmarket.

The refurb of this place is of a very high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food lets it down. Primarily, if you don't like burgers or fish and chips, find somewhere else. I visited with a friend and although my fish and chips were good, my friends meal was first served on completely cold vegetables. On pointing this out to the waiting staff, she offered a replacement which, we expected would be a plated meal with hot food. Unfortunately it was delivered as a pile of veg and potatoes thrown together in a tin dish. Not ideal and a real disappointment. Probably would not visit again.
