Good steak n ale pie , plenty of, eton mess desert, nice cold Guinness ,reasonable prices for London . Just outside Paddington Station, so quick meal while waiting for train.

Small Victorian pub, a bit crowded and with tables too close one from the other. It look nice but a bit cold. Service was quick and Guinness was nice. We didn’t try the food.

I ate authentic fish and chips. It was very filling and delicious! I went alone, but the staff was very kind and made me feel comfortable!

My favorite spot eveytime i stop at the Paddington Station, cute place near it, nice food options and cool staff, see you soon again😀

I recently visited Sawyers Arms and I can confidently say it's one of the best pubs l've been to! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right balance of lively energy and cozy comfort. The staff were fantastic-friendly, attentive an polite. The food was amazing. I ordered the Classic Cheese Burger with some extra mash and it tastes soo good 🌟

I was dining with my family enjoying drinks having a wonderful second night in London. But that was quickly ruined by a thief. A man seated behind me stole my phone and wallet and we went to the bar where the staff was, and they were uninterested and said "I don't get paid enough for this." They even mentioned that it had happened there before however, no signs were posted to warn guests. We were paying customers and were treated horribly by staff. Another guest noticed the ignorance from the staff and helped us call the police since the staff was doing nothing.

Our traveling companion had her wallet and phone stolen here. I do not blame the staff for that. However, the staff's indifference after the theft was very frustrating. We were told "it happens all the time" and yet no verbal or written warnings for patrons. Other pubs do post warnings. I also accept that there was nothing the staff could do after the fact but an apology would have been decent. If you go, be careful. But there are plenty of other pubs in the are.

Terrible. The bar lady quite intense too and rude. Tried to drop the kids off at the pool and toilets all blocked. They then blocked off the urinals and advised to go to the pub opposite. Bit of a crazy experience wouldn’t go here many pubs around.

Small little pub not many people there little bit pricey but is Paris

A grate time , great food and great staff

Inspite of the place being heavily crowded,there was an Indian girl who took great care of us and elevated the customer service and the experience. She was super nice and accommodating.

Quite a small pub, limited seating downstairs so did feel quite compact with people trying to stand around the numerous sports screens. Bit of confusion when heading upstairs for our booked dinner table as the area appeared to be closed for a private function. After speaking to the staff the restaurant area then opened. Food reviews varied in the group, mostly positive. Good portion sizes, good tasting food. Misleading menu items. Let down by the service, seemed to be forgotten about by the staff. Had to chase a few things up. Slow to get more drinks, table remained uncleared. Convenient location for a central meeting point.

Typical Sam Smith pubs, with usual selection of beers and nice interiors. Not too big it can make it a bit noisy but good for a small gathering or an informal date.

Nice atmosphere for a quick drink or a few, and the staff seemed friendly. Don't know about the food as I didn't have any, but may try the food next time.

Uninterested bar staff, lacked atmosphere. Beer was good but didn't want to stay for more than a pint. Headed to The Bear.

The soup resembled swamp mud and tasted about the same. The main course was supposed to be steak and potatoes, but apparently I didn’t read the menu carefully, and the waiter didn’t bother to explain that this was far from what I had in mind and we were served something half liquid baked in dough that tasted like a failed roast.

Bhavana was very, VERY helpful during my visit today. Helped seat my two young girls and 2 dogs in a busy pub before making sure we were all happy. Great service.

Prima a cena a Londra in questo pub tipico che si sviluppa per alto. Servizio rapido e gentile. Abbiamo mangiato tre hamburger ed una bistecca non male. Molto buona la birra. Prezzi medio/alti. Un appunto: sono uscito dopo aver pagato senza avere in mano nulla, ne lo scontrino del pos, ne la ricevuta fiscale, nulla. Probabilmente si usa così (anche se in altri locali ho avuto tutto). Attenzione: per policy del locale non servono alcolici ai minori di 18 anni, anche se la legge britannica lo consentirebbe (ai 16-17enni è permesso consumare alcol soltanto se sono seduti al tavolo di un ristorante e se non consumano il pasto nella zona bar: per poter bere alcol, devono pranzare o cenare nell’area destinata a questo servizio).

First dinner in London in this typical pub that is developed for high. Quick and kind service. We ate three burgers and a not bad steak. The beer is very good. Medium/high prices. A note: I left after paying without having anything in hand, neither the POS receipt, nor the tax receipt, nothing. This is probably how they use it (even though I've had everything in other places). Attention: according to the club's policy, they do not serve alcohol to anyone under 18, even if British law allows it (16-17 year olds are only allowed to consume alcohol if they are sitting at a restaurant table and if they do not eat their meal in the bar area: in order to drink alcohol, they must have lunch or dinner in the area designated for this service).

Fun vibes. Went for a soccer game and ended up having a vibe with tons of locals. Great tasting fish and chips.

El perro estaba sentado, con la ceremonia debida, a la mesa. Nuestra mesa estaba a pocos centímetros. No, gracias. Nos fuimos y fuimos a The Monkey Puzzle, como siempre. (En verdad no sé por qué reservé en otro lugar. El rompecabezas del mono siempre es bueno. ¿Por qué parece normal tratar a los perros como seres humanos? No lo son. Fun vibes and good food. Loved their cocktails and the service was friendly. We ordered fish and chips 4/5, crispy and the chips were the best. Steak 3/5, a bit chewy for dry aged beef. Burger 5/5, the best order we had, totally recommend it. Holiday cocktails 5/5, sweet and balanced. Overall, a fun bar and I would visit again.

Went for dinner, first off they didn't have tomato juice for a bloody Mary. Second, they didn't have several of the appetizers. We ordered gin and cranberry, it was only cranberry, no alcohol at all. I paid 20 pounds for the cranberry juice and left. Worst place ever!

Looking for a place to eat fish and chips near Paddington station, we found Sawyers I had unknowingly been to Sawyers about 6 years ago and only realized after a while inside the pub. I have to say from my experience that pubs are perfect places to eat. The food is great and usually only accompanied by local customers. We ordered a burger, fish and chips, mc & cheese and garlic bread. I just have to say that my son rated the burger as the best during our trip. Of course we will return

When the roast arrived, I thought it wouldn't be good but was pleasantly surprised. In general, it was a good roast. I will say the pork and beef were soft and not rubbery!

Clueless staff left us waiting and I had to rush to eat my food because I didn't have a lot of time before catching my train. So here's what happened we went to this pub ordered food and they never told us that the system that they've got where they check orders that have been done through the app isn't working so we're sat there waiting and waiting and waiting and going where is my food? We go to the bar and we say we've been waiting quite a long time where's our food? She then tells us "oh we can't check it because the system's down" Why in the hell haven't you got a sign that says order at the bar? Or if you see people coming in you do the right thing and go up to them and say you have to order at the bar if you're ordering food or buying drinks because we can't check if you've done an order through the app. No it just shows that they absolutely don't care and it's bad customer service. Apart from that the food was actually lovely and it was a nice Sunday roast I had the beef.

I stay in Norfolk Square at least once a year and The Sawyers Arms is my local and I love it. I love to sit outside with a pint watching the world go by. There are even outdoor heaters to put on if it gets cold. The beer is well kept and the staff are friendly. I’ve never eaten there but the food always looks and smells great when I see others eating - I gave the review because I didn’t want it to appear that I was giving a poor rating. I’ve spoken to people who have eaten there who have said that the food is excellent. I’m looking forward to being down there in late May. Highly recommended. Proper pub.

Loved this place! Was there on a Sunday & had a fantastic Sunday Roast with beef for lunch. The staff was incredibly nice, especially a dark-haired girl who made the experience even better! We enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner the same evening 😍

Cozy place. Friendly and accommodating service. Quickly put together a table for 5 people. Easy to order food. Got the food very quickly, so maybe it's a little pre-made.

I had high hopes for a nice looking pub, and a Greene King house as I quite like their IPA and the food and experience is usually consistent. Sadly, my hopes were dashed. Having asked for a pint of IPA and a lemonade, I got a shandy, rather than the two drinks. The lemonade then came and rather than waste a drink, I had the shandy instead of the intended pint. I don't think I look particularly violent, but the drinks were served in plastic vessels. Apparently, the washer was broken. Many other people in the pub had glasses and shortly after me, other guests were given their drinks in glasses (although not beer ones, in fairness). All in all, an odd experience but not one that will have me rushing back to the pub.

Standard. I often stop when staying at hotels near Paddington. Very reliable and good mix of people.

We were in a group of 5. We all ordered dinner and drinks (around 5 rounds). My wife and I have allergies and checked the allergy menu for the Korean chicken burger which said it doesn't contain egg. When ordering the server didn't ask if we had any allergies. When we the food arrived and I had started eating it, I discovered that it had mayonnaise in it, which was not listed on the allergy menu or on the actual menu. We complained and the on duty manager did a very good job of helping us with the situation.

An average English pub, what is good enough. Nice to visit it

We only had one beer there, which was okay, but the atmosphere is much more rustic in some other pubs.

This is a pleasant Greene King pub a short walk from Paddington station. They had five casks and I opted for the IPA at £6.10, the service was good. The pub layout is a little eccentric (in a nice way) with a small seating area upstairs just off the nice upstairs bar/dining room. Off the main bar downstairs is another small seating area. They also have a small exterior seating area. The decor is somewhat mixed with painted wood panelling and painted walls. Overall I felt that this pub has character. They do offer food although I did not eat. I was here at 4pm on a cold, wet Tuesday and it was not busy. In summary a nice pub to visit.

Had a turkey dinner off the Sunday menu. Terrible, Luke warm, roast potatoes weren't fresh, I was given 18 sprouts!! and no cauliflower cheese. When I asked I was given 2 florets clearly microwaved with hardly no cheese on. Turkey slices were tasteless. Stuffing dry. Staff were nice, food Terrible.

Not a lot of great options in the area—except the Victoria. Not awful if you’re just looking to grab a quick Greene King pint. Food is below par, or maybe was par back before London pub food ticked up a few notches. Steak and Ale pie seemed reheated in the microwave, and the mash was thick and gloopy. No real help from the gravy. Generally, indifferent staff, but certainly not rude or anything. Other patrons were friendly and pleasant, and were the highlight of the visit.

Had sunday beef roast, it was OK dispointed as it was meant to have cauilfour cheese. This was not the case. My husband had steak & ale pie this came out cold in the middle staff took this back but then returned with the same pie which they reheated not a fresh pie .

We stopped here twice during our trip. Once for drinks and once for lunch. The food was great, staff were friendly and drinks were good. I wish they would soften the lighting. It felt way too bright in the space for a pub.

Super nice staff. Fish and Chips were hot, crispy, and super delicious. The Beavertown "Gamma Ray" (American pale ale) fit perfectly to it.

I was staying in a nearby hotel and decided to pop in for a pint. The layout is quite cozy with plenty of nooks and crannies to sit in.

Enjoyed our visit. Service was great (very busy when we went but they found us a table, available to take orders despite how busy they were, food arrived quickly). They are happy to serve kids but there is no specific children’s menu. Food was very good. We had the roast beef, chicken pie special, beef and ale pie and the burger, all recommended. Dessert menu is limited but worthwhile. Sticky toffee pudding was nice enough (needed a bit more sauce, a little bland without it), and the (salted?) caramel chocolate tart was the winner of the night. Would absolutely go back again

Our overseas visitors staying in a nearby hotel wanted to experience a typical traditional English pub. Sawyers Arms fit the bill perfectly. This is a multi level place with the upper floors more suited for dining. We stayed on the ground floor which was very lively and busy both with tourists and locals calling in for an after work drink. After waiting a short time we managed to find a table with high bar stool type chairs. They had drinks menus on the table; in addition to the regular large range of beers, lagers spirits etc they also did cocktails. On a warm day the choice of refreshing spritzes was welcome, some quite original. Of course you go and order your drinks at the bar. The men tried some lagers and traditional English ales, while I enjoyed my Pink Fizz and my sister in law her cocktail. The ambiance was easy going and cheerful, you inevitably started talking to people at the next table. Overall very jovial. Prices were average for central London. Tables were regularly cleared of empty glasses by a staff member. I don’t know about the food as we didn’t eat. If I lived closer to Paddington I might well pop in regularly.

What a gem in Paddington, London. A pub that we initially went in for Sunday Roast but had something different instead. Our server, Johana, was very friendly and helpful and gave us a great table on the first floor. We'll be back for sure.

This is a pub near Paddington Station. It was close to the station, there were many hotels around, and there were many tourists.

Tasty fish and chips. We started at a hotel a short stroll from here. We popped in for dinner. The fish and chips were very good. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese, which also was tasty.

The food is more than delectable. I ate every single bite. I would suggest the duck confit or duck salad. Staff was incredibly helpful and delicate with one’s needs. Overall, superior establishment and comforting environment.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat before going to the theatre. Ordered salt and pepper squid, which was larger than expected but had little to no salt or pepper, but there were condiments on the table so that was an easy fix. Ordered 2 toasties, as my plate was placed on the table I could see something crawling in the "side salad" spoke to a member of staff who took my plate -he did apologise- for all of about 30 seconds and then brought it back to the table minus the creature. This was not sufficient time to have taken it back to the kitchen and a member of the bar staff had removed the creature and just handed back the plate, without even changing the salad. So I did not eat. This also put off other members of my party as my daughter managed to about a 1/4 of her toastie but couldn't eat anymore as witnessing something crawling out of my salad had understandably put her off her food too. My friend who had ordered a salad from the menu (along with the squid) only ate bits from the top as she didn't really want to eat it, knowing the lettuce had come from the same place as mine. It was only when we were leaving we were asked if I wanted a fresh toastie but it was far too late by then and we had a show to watch. Even if we hadn't I would not have taken it anyway. An utter waste of money, very disappointed. Perhaps looking into how salad is stored, and ensuring that it is properly washed would be beneficial. Lovely building.

Looking for breakfast in Paddington go here £9.50 full English couldn't fault it

Quirky and fun place, lots of levels, good food, convenient location. When we were there, it was tremendously crowded and understaffed, and lots of after-work people and families. It took a while to get served but ultimately very satisfactory. Johanna, our waitress, was friendly, helpful and efficient. A 4 out of 5 just because of the crowd and understaffing issues.

We had the Mac & Cheese and it was a bit disappointing. Not a big portion and the cheese had curdled and also the salat was not fresh. The staff was not much help and did not seem to care much.

I miss the corner pub. We were looking forward to sharing that experience with our family. However, this pub is part of the Greene King chain and their menu is a bore. They have taken over so many pubs that the pub now lacks originality and a sense of community. The wait staff was good but they were out of several food items and the items that did come looked sad. Next time, we'll choose elsewhere.
