The Phoenix in City of London, Westminster

Popped in for a pint. I was offered a deal on beer on the condition I could pull some cards out of the wall. A bizarre and impossible challenge. Our friend Marius proved it was possible and also came to our table and left us gob smacked by his magic tricks. Great pub, Lovely team (especially Marius), And we didn’t eat, but the other table’s food looked incredible. Thanks!

The pesto mushroom gnocchi was out of this world, but Mario made our experience memorable for a lifetime. It wasn’t just the 11 year old with us that was amazed by his magic tricks, but we all were as well. We would have paid to just see him. Mind blown!

Popped into this gem of a pub for a light bite for lunch. Superb pig in blanket sausage roll and bowl of chips. Delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend. Pam and Paul

Mario the magician seriously made our evening here. He was so welcoming and made us all feel comfortable. I cannot even begin to explain just how good he was!!! You have to come and see for yourself!! We will definitely be coming back just for him!!! Never get rid of Mario!!!!

Mario is the best entertainer at this place. Drinks and food are decently good, but the manager “Mario” makes sure he interacts with the customers whilst performing his magic tricks which is very unique and interactive. I’d suggest to visit this place for some good vibes and fun.

It was packed when we arrived so we sat upstairs which was quieter and moved down afterwards. It was fabulous. Super service. Specially by the magician guy downstairs. I should have got his number. He was amazing. Overall wonderful pub for food and drinks.

The upstairs dining room is so beautiful and unexpected. The Sunday roast was generous and delicious. I’d definitely go back!

I used to come to the pub every Thursday/Friday pre Covid when I worked near by. After my last visit I will never go back! I also will tell everyone I know to stay away! I booked dinner for 15 people and turn up to a table that seated 8 people. I spoke to them and they said that we could have the standing room beside the table, how you can reserve standing space in the middle of the pub is beyond me. I also got a lot of grief from the public when I tried to reserve the standing space all by myself. We then went on to order sharing plates to start with on the app with the option to order Gluten Free bread with the dips. This food was delivered to the table and when we asked which was the Gluten free food we got told that they dont have any! So here we were 15 people squeezed around a table for 8 ppl and quite a few of them couldn't even eat any of the food. I just want to say thank you for ruining my night out in London!!!! NEVER AGAIN!

Busy Pub, looks like place for colleagues from local businesses to get together. They have a number of high top tables and a section of straight booths. Bar staff were all friendly and were pumping out drinks. Made a great coffee martini!

Organised a work party at the Phoenix. Hired part of the upstairs room and it was great. Lots of room but also buzzing, great atmosphere, very helpful staff and delicious food including some really nice vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

A very enjoyable Christmas Day made special with Marius and his magic tricks.

We went there for lunch after our Buckingham palace tour. We ordered fish & chips and sausage and loved the foods and vibe of the cafe. It was a calssic pub, the staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for a nice lunch and have a break if you are around this area.

We had a absolute fun time thanks to Marius. He has quite a few magic tricks up his sleeves to entertain and make our experience memorable. The drinks are 5/5 too.

The food and atmosphere was great! Marius was an amazing server and host-his magician skills left us in awe and definitely made our experience overall even better.

Terrible place now. Used to be great. Men’s toilets closed. Slow service, no smile or any kind of politeness. The waiting time to use the one toilet on the ground floor was ridiculous and we’re not checked or cleaned, was bad. Plenty of staff sitting up stairs in the function room on their phones though no wonder the lad behind the bar had the hump. Pay a contractor to fix your toilets. 31st December isn’t a good day to not have working toilets.

We walked in at this lovely pub and were accommodated even the tables were lacked to be reserved in a couple of hours already. As we were a group of 7 with kids, they helped us to put together tables so we could all sit in one place. The service was friendly and the food was very yummy. To top off our great experience one of the bartender surprised us (and everyone) with fun magic tricks. It’s been a lovely time & we shall return!

A very nice British pop food. We tried the fish and chips and sausage dish was nice. The atmosphere was so nice, cozy and well designed. If you visiting in winter, wear a warm coat before heading to toilets upstairs.

Very lovely Xmas eve experience at Phoenix. The food is always top notch but the standout was Marius behind the bar who is a magician in every sense. Our kids were totally captivated by his magic tricks!

I have scored 1 star but being honest i wouldn't give it that I arrived with my son and partner was given a table to have a meal Informed by waitress it's not clean she will come and do it The waitress did not return so we was sat there with dirty cutlery and napkins in front of us The waitress however continued to carry on with other guests We had to go to the bar to order a drink and ask for table to be cleaned Again the waitress never come we moved the cutlery our self I then asked for drinks bill as I wasn't going to eat here after the service received The waitress was rude with no apology she had attitude I never like giving bad reviews as people have different expectations But clean table and service I think is not alot to ask for Horrible end to a fab wknd in London

We recently rented "The Snug" at The Phoenix Pub in Victoria for a gathering of 20 people, and it was a fantastic experience overall. The space was perfect for our group – cozy yet spacious, and it offered a wonderful atmosphere for socializing. The food and drinks were top-notch, with excellent beer, wine, and a delicious variety of sharing plates. The vegan burgers were a particular hit! The only downside was the communication when booking the space. While it was easy to reserve the area online, reaching a human for any queries was difficult, and email responses were a bit slow. That said, everything else made up for it, and the staff on the day were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend The Phoenix Pub for group bookings – a great place with great food, drinks, and a relaxed vibe!
