Staff were phenomenal! Extremely friendly and welcoming. Adam the manager and Connor who's jn management were very helpful in finding and sourcing my needs, I will be returning and hopefully with more of my family to experience there British, wholesome pub!

Dined at the pub last night, as we do regularly ! Had a change ftom their incredible fish and chips and had the grilled halloumi and sweet chill sauce on flatbread with salad! It was abso gorgeous! Inspiring menu idea! Extremely tasty accompanied by a bowl of fresh crispy mixed salad! You couldn’t have got better in a 5* restaurant! Well done chef and staff are very professional and friendky! 5****

Hadn't visited here for a good few months due to work but was staying in the adjoining hotel. Last time was great and somehow they have managed to improve!! Great atmosphere with the quiz that was on, able to keep an eye on the Olympics and the food is just to die for so succulent and fresh. What a great place.

I decided to bring my children here for lunch. The food was amazing 5 stars to the chefs , also the desserts were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful.

I stayed in the redwing lodge directly behind this pub for one night and went into the Saracens head in the morning for breakfast, there was actually a door straight into the pub from the hotel reception even though they are completely separate businesses. The breakfast was lovely, all grilled and very tasty and also very inexpensive. The pub itself was very nicely laid out and the lady serving in the morning was very friendly. Although I can't comment on this pub for later in the day or in the evenings I would definitely recommend for breakfast. Spot on.

First time in the area, wanted to watch footy and grab a bite. Hadnt planned to eat here as experience in pubs like this is that the food is sub par. Happy to be proven wrong today, i had the surf and turf, standard size (did not upgrade but dont eat big either). Food was faultless to be honest. Hot and portion size was filling for me. Aiden and Riley were very pleasant despite being busy. Had to thank who i thought was the team leader (powder blue tshirt) her smile at my praise made my day too. Thank you. 👍

Aiden was super helpful, service with a smile. Ryan was also very polite helpful and always ensured that the service was quick.

Ryan a member of staff stinks. Attitude was appalling. Tried to have a lovely evening with my wife and it had to be ruined by poor service and manners. Which is very out of the ordinary for the Saracens head.

I have not been here in sometime and decided to pop in for drinks and a snack with a friend. The wine we bought was high quality and worth the money and we bought Nachos that were value for money and very tasty. We will definitely be back in the future as the meals coming out looked lovely.

I'm a regular customer to this pub and always enjoy coming here with friends and family. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. Staff member Curtis is always friendly and helpful. He's a valuable member of the Saracen's team. Keep up the good work guy's!

Very welcoming pub, music was good, really enjoyed my night. Curtis the barman was really lovely and helpful would definitely come here again on a night out with the girls!!

We came for breakfast and it was pleasant enough so we decided to return for tea at 5pm. It was busy and not many tables but we found a table. The team were friendly and the food was good value for money. Our chips went to another table but we didnt mind and re ordered. What was primarily important was when a local person (everyone seemed to know her and she knew them ) entered the pub with her less abled child in a wheelchair. We noticed she was already under the influence but she bought a pint of lager and played on a gambling machine with the child. The child was pressing the buttons on the gambling machine and tlher drunken carer was yelling at her to stop and shaking her wheelchair to the point, i thought young child was going to fall out. Child was non verbal but able to scream and yell. The carer was allowed to continue to drink and gamble with this child. 5 mins later the disabled child was sick all over the floor and was distressed. Many of us customers were eating and witnessed this terrible drunken carer behave this way and seeing a child be sick everywhere put us off our food and breaks your heart. I find it appalling that the lady was served whilst already drunk, the child was allowed to help on the gambling machine and to have customers see all this behaviour and shouting and vomiting, is terrible. Why enable a drunk carer to treat her child that way?! You cant control how a carer treats another but can be responsible enough as a licensed establishment, to not enable it. Won't return based on that experience as she is a local and i don't want to witness that ever again

Can really recommend. Amazing food and very good with allergen options and they take it very serious. Ryan was very very helpful, very friendly which made our night.

Popped in on a Thursday to meet a friend. Was greeted by Curtis, he’s so lovely and made us feel so welcome. Amber served us and she couldn’t do enough for us. Food came quickly and was nice and hot. Drinks were good. Would definitely come again! See you next week 😊 x

I visited the Saracens head this morning and was greeted by the lovely staff. Ellie in particular was very welcoming and was keen to show off the menu. I actually ordered her recommendation of a works bap which was very nice.

Regularly dine here with family and am never ever disappointed by the food and service! Their fish n chips dinner has yet to be beaten by anywhere! Even Whitby doesn’t come close! We visited on Saturday ,late afternoon. The Restaurant area was fairly quiet .We ordered drinks at the bar on arrival and was served by a friendly member of staff who told us to help our selves to any table we wanted as long as it had the white sign on it that read and i quote :- This table is clean ,sanitised and ready for you to enjoy . Well i regret to write that many tables had this sign on and many tables( more than 5 ,we counted) were dirty , with food and drink spills on them and even glasses were left on some . What a farce leaving such signs around . We overheard someone else complain about this too .Obviously this establishment is in no way taking hygiene seriously during a pandemic . Something is seriously going wrong here ,why are the signs not being taken away at the time of serving and being put back only after the cleaning process has taken place, it really is that simple . Very worrying , To summarize :- Staff friendly , Food decent for price paid . Covid measures truly awful ,and it's also in great need of redecorating ,the restaurant especially looks very tatty again now in places ,a lick of paint is desperately needed.

Fantastic food that was well cooked and presented really well. Good value for money and definitely reasonable priced. We all had puddings which were lovely. Could have a bit more variety on the menu but over all really excellent place.

Only had a short amount of time on my lunch break so popped in here, the hunters chicken super sub was delicious and fresh and the Pepsi max went down beautifully on such a hot day. Max was very friendly and knowledgeable and i believe it was Stewart who cooked my lunch. Overall great place great staff great food and didn't have to wait long at all. I will definitely be back with my family!!!!

It had been a while since we’d been here. Food was well cooked, plentiful and well priced. It was fairly quiet when we visited and staff were welcoming & efficient. Waitress called Jess served us & she was so friendly, she made our visit memorable. Hope to see her again when we return.

There is a bar lady called Shannon. She is mew and is a absolute pleasure to be around. Tried everywhere to have a family lunch but had no luck until we came here.They had no issue with a family of five and was shown straight to our table. Our server called Max is absolutely lovely, kind, pleasant and very helpful. Food was delicious, freshly cooked, roasting hot and really hit the spot! Five Star treatment.

Not the usual establishment that I would dine and drink at but I’ve been here a few times now and have no complaints about the place. The menu is very vast and there is something for everyone on it, food quality has always been decent especially for the price you pay. Staff always friendly and helpful, service always nice and quick and they are clearly taking Covid-19 restrictions seriously. SkySports on the tele and the ‘regulars’ in the bar area are friendly and welcoming. Can’t fault the place and will be back again.

I'm not normally one to do this sort of thing but I felt compelled to after my visit yesterday.Being dubious about safety due to the current circumstances the staff here were amazing and could not do enough to ensure our visit was safe and first class. Max Adam and Simon were true professionals, making time to talk to us even though they were fairly busy.The atmosphere was amazing and the food was to die for, succulent steaks and the chicken platter, just wow!!!I can't thank the manager, bar and kitchen staff enough for making my birthday night out/ meal truly memorable for all the right reasons.

Visited here on 12th August 2020. First time away from home for 10 years. Food was undercooked and bland. Gutted. Was really hoping for proper meat from the grill but most seemed processed and tasteless. Sorry I never complain

Lovely night here on a Friday night whilst visiting from Newcastle.. Nice cheap drinks & lovely people. Met a guy in there who was a localer and we had a quick go on the swings in the local park at the back of the pub because my friend took a guy to our hotel room and cutting a long story short I’m now nearly three months pregnant. If I have a girl I’m calling her Shirley because of the great time I had. Was going to call them Saracens but that’s weird. Anyway. Highly recommend this joint. I loved my Smirnoff ices and build your own sundae.

Today I visited the saracens head for some lunch with my sister and our children. I had the chicken platter and it was superb, my sister had the triple Hunter which was also amazing! I chose the toad in the hole from the children’s menu for my son, which came with chips and peas for just £2.49!! Really great quality for money. I was served by a lovely young man called Owen who was very attentive and I will definitely be returning. Great job guys

The other day I was looking for somewhere to get my head down and do some work whilst having a bite, I came across the saracens head on Shirley high street and I was most pleased by my experience. I ordered a classic bangers and mash and it was more then satisfying, the young chap who served me ( by the name of Owen) was more then helpful, he made me feel like I was the only person in the establishment, his blue eyes was mesmerising as I tried to pull myself together to make my order, we both giggled as I ordered the ‘sausage’ and he even let of a little wink. Will definitely be returning and not just for the food. 10/10 all round!

This is, without a doubt, the best place to get fish and chips in Shirley. We've also had burgers, and bangers and mash. All were great. Good service and great value for money.

We visited the Saracens head in mid November for my Mum and Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue was cosy and vibrant with energy as always! The beautiful Terri served us and she was fantastic... however it was Billy the cat that stole our hearts! A truly special evening - 10/10

Has a fantastic Christmas dinner. Would recommend it highly for Christmas dinner, great food, great staff, great service and best of all no washing up.
