If your passing you should give this place a go. Really friendly place. The people are happy to chat...but that said they are not intrusive. Good snack at great price

A great little place for a generous bowl of tasty soup, (£1.30 with bread roll & butter), or freshly made lunchtime sandwiches (£2). Clean, light & tidy. Popular with singles, couples, families. Toilets & facilities immaculate & well stocked. So, come in out of the cold, try it out, and receive a warm welcome from Mo & Richard in the kitchen ! It’s a great little secret !

There is nothing in the least pretentious about this delightfully light, spacious, modern & informal coffee shop: offering fantastic value for money, a warm welcome and a choice of simple food at budget prices. Lunchtime Soup for two people served with a roll & butter, a coffee & a soft drink for £4 ! Great for afternoon tea or mid-morning tea /coffee & cake treat - at a total cost of £6 ! Toilet facilities & hand-washing facilities are immaculate & well stocked. This is not haute cuisine, but it’s well worth a visit if you are shopping near to East Bank Street / Shakespeare Street; or if you just can’t stand the hustle & bustle of a busy town centre & inflated prices on the run up to Christmas. A popular meeting place for young parents, elderly friends, and local support groups. The modern tea room overlooks a small garden. The centre & tea room is wheelchair & pushchair friendly. There is free parking for customers to the rear of the Salvation Army complex. So please, give it a try - it’s all in a great cause & supports so much good work in the wider community. Note: All donations & tips go directly to the Salvation Army funds. Location: large modern building next to the traditional Salvation Army premises; on the upper LHS of Shakespeare Street towards the junction with Duke Street. Near to the former Pet Warehouse & Stanley’s Locksmiths.

Nice cafe layout and very friendly characterful staff. Food was cheap and wholesome. Had an alleged flat white and a latte for one pound each. Terrible .. It was machine made coffee of the worst kind, but what do you expect at that price point. I suggest that you stick to tea!

In for coffee and cake before the Lawn Mower Museum opened. Excellent Bakewell Tarts, Eccles cakes and Toasted Tea cakes! Bakewells that good we took some away. Very nice staff added to the visit. Very worthy cause and too cheap in my opinion. Furniture store next door has excellent selection of DVDs.

very nice food but portion sizes were tiny - the duck main was wonderful but the chicken main was quite dry - tracie tart very nice but tiny portion and very small portion of clotted cream - the service was great and staff were lovely but would not return as although we are not huge eaters and don’t like huge piles of food - these portions were small and after the meal felt hungry still! I think candles on the tables would be a nice touch.

Having walked nearly 10 miles along the beach, the dunes and through the pinewoods, Kitty’s Tea Rooms were a very welcome sight! I only wanted a cup of tea but couldn’t resist the coffee walnut cake (YUM) and a very tasty Club Sandwich. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Perfect.

Arriving shortly after opening time we availed of outside seating, in the shade underneath the sturdy build brick canopy. An inviting breakfast menu is on offer. Opting for an Eggs Benedict and cereal was perfect, with coffee and cappuccino. It was getting increasingly busy as time went on, but staff were great, cheerful and efficient throughout. A grand start to the day.
