I love visiting here!! Great food, super friendly service and a really nice relaxed atmosphere.

Best neighborhood pub in Oxford.

We had a table reservation for nine people, including two highchairs, but unfortunately, we were unable to be seated because the owner was using our table and declined to move. As a result, we had to leave and find another location for our birthday dinner. I am quite disappointed that the owner was unwilling to accommodate our party of nine who had a pre-booked reservation.

Mis hijos tienen necesidades especiales, pero él hizo todo lo posible para ser útil a pesar de que no éramos grandes gastadores. El propietario apareció y obviamente estaba revisando el lugar, lo que nos hizo sentir incómodos, lo que fue una lástima y me deduciría un punto por esto si no fuera por el servicio por lo demás agradable y atento. Went there for a brunch. The food was amazing and really delicious while it wasn't expensive, really. Truly worths the price. We had 2 brunch meal deals and paid only 20 quids and had a wonderful time. The staff were hospitable and helpful as well.

We celebrated our lab Christmas party here. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the food excellent and plenty! Can highly recommend

My favorite place in Oxford for a Burger! When I tell you the burgers are so damn good🫣They have multiple options for meat, veggie and vegan!!! I can highly recommend their Impossinle veggie burger, it’s like a better tasting Mcdonalds!!! The service is really quick too, and on weekdays from 12-3pm they do a £10 deal for burger and chips or pizza 😍 The drinks are quite expensive but it’s a nice pub so it’s to be expected. But do yourself a favor and get down here because the burgers are insane x

As an American visiting Oxford, I enjoyed the Rusty Bicycle for the atmosphere and delicious burger. High quality meat and complimented with other ingredients like bacon and cheese I was extremely impressed. The fries are somewhere in between skinny fries and standard fries (or so I was told) and were crispy and delicious. The pub hosted us as a group of ten which was impressive given the intimate space. It was a busy Wednesday night but the atmosphere still felt cozy and nice, like we weren't having to shout at each other to communicate.

So, honestly I love the place but the food could be bigger portions. Got the Big D as a double and the Dodo but the double wasn’t as double at all 😅. They were good taste tho but not size wise. The inside looks very nice. 😊 Still recommending to go ❤️.

Parked my car in front of the venue and ended up having a burger and a drink. Delicious burger, I enjoyed every bit of it.

We had a large group and the food service was patchy at time but the food was tasty and I would definitely return to eat there again ..

Such a fantastic local pub, we're lucky to have it on our doorstep. What I love most of all is how child friendly they are, I have a young baby and all of the staff always go above and beyond to accommodate us. Excellent service, a lovely community pub all round - if only more pubs could be like this!

We were looking for a non-touristy place to have dinner, and through an online blog we read about this place, intrigued we came to try it and we couldn't have made a better choice! Located in a residential neighborhood, the place looks great, you immediately sense an excellent atmosphere... we had a margherita pizza (as Neapolitans we wanted to test the quality); three “Big Ds”; portion of chips; a CocaCola and two small IPA beers. Everything was delicious, even the pizza was delicious!! Super friendly and professional staff, if we lived here it would be a regular stop!!!

A really nice experience, the place is really nice and very informal and in fact there is no table ordering service. We ordered both their sandwiches which were really good and with quality raw materials and the piazza, really excellent and I say this as an Italian from Naples. The fries were delicious, fresh cut by them. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. SUPER RECOMMENDED.

I love this place. One of the best atmospheres in East Oxford. Staff are unfailingly excellent. Food very good, however my family would like more choice especially creative healthy options.

Food is good, friendly staff, and lively atmosphere. Visited after work on a Friday, and there was lots of seating available around 6pm.

We have been eating here for years and the kids have always loved it but the portion sizes on the wings and other sides have been massively reduced and it just felt very stingy . We wouldn’t eat here again which is a great shame.

Very busy so didn't stay. Not quite what we were looking for that night. The menu is a bit different but interesting.

There are reasons why this pub won the best regional pub category in National Pub and Bar awards. It's a welcoming, innovative yet truly local pub. A great hangout for young and old alike. A true community place that keeps going from strength to strength. The staff are superlative. There's fine beer to be had too, much of it brewed by Arkells. A special shout out to their Craft Ale: cool, refreshing, malty, smooth and balanced - a great beer; bliss in a glass! Sour dough pizzas from a wood-fired oven, flame-grilled burgers.

Feels like a local pub. It was me and all the locals. Had the vegan/plant based burger with some chips. Good portion size. However, impossible to eat with hands without making an absolute mess. Not long wait time for food.

Absolutely recommend, really nice food, good service, the hashbrown bires with buffalo ranch is amazing, very cosy, a good spot for brunch and a night out, really happy with this experience

Great place tucked away off the Oxford centre. Great place for a meal with family / friends. The ales on tap are delicious. The pizzas are really well cooked with a good crispy base. The pub is also dog friendly with water and treats. Overall a great place for a quick pit stop or a longer catch up with friends.

Really poor quality vegetarian burger. Soggy (tasted undercooked), not even a slice of tomato or beetroot, tasteless. Chips were good, service was friendly. But the food really wasn't up to scratch.

Great pub, absolutely can't fault the food, service or anything else. The pizza dough is probably my favourite in Oxford, out of the numerous establishments. The burgers are also well built and the options aren't too busy either. The coffee also hits the spot to top it all. You might have trouble parking nearby so plan accordingly at busy times.

Dog friendly local pub. We often take our American friends and family here when they visit from out of town, and everyone always loves it. The interior is comfortable and cozy, and the enclosed terraced beer garden is used tear round, with heat lamps and covered areas (bundle up in the winter though!) The menu is simple (pizza, burgers, chicken strips) but good with vegetarian options. My meat-eating husband says the burger is one of the best in Oxford. Clientele is a mix of families with kids, students, and locals / old timers (it maybe varies depending on the day/time, although it does seem there are more students lately it’s still a good mix). Quiz night can be crowded, but otherwise can usually always find a spot.

Great place, can't imagine not having it nearby! My favourite pub in the area. Great fries, pizzas, burgers. And you can reserve tables if and when you're having a get-together. Secondhand books with a bit of masking tape with your name act as the reserved signs. I had Tennyson and Dickens. Top marks.

Used their online system to book a table, I had no acknowledgement of the booking, so went somewhere else. Days later had an email ‘Thanks for coming’. Obviously their booking system doesn’t work, or they just ignore it.

Good atmosphere, both inside and in the garden. Enjoyed a Dodo burger and chips which were well cooked. Excellent selection of beers and ales. Highly recommended!

Super nice homely pub. Staff are excellent! I was just passing through the area after reading reviews of where to get a nice pint and some grub and the rusty came up. Glad i visted this place. Lisa and Jamie were charming and caring, made my Monday blues into Monday woohoos. Will have to come back for their street party on the 29th.

Arrived at 2:30pm, ordered and paid for food and then waited 40 mins before discovering the order had vanished. The pub was empty and no-one checked on me in that time. I was refunded, but the response 'Sorry - we don't know what happened' bugged me, as if the whole thing is mysterious and food sometimes arrives, sometimes doesn't - who can tell?! The Rusty can do things well in the evenings and I had a good experience recently (I guess it's a shame we feel compelled to leave reviews for the bad experiences, not the good), but I would stay away during the end of the the day shift.

Continues to go downhill, sadly. The chips are just rubbish these days (old, stale, chewy, no rosemary any more) and the whole meal rarely seems worth the price, especially with a standard lager being £6.50. So, more than 20 quid for a basic burger n chips with a pint? Hmm. I won't even mention the £3.50 coleslaw. Cabbage, carrot, onion - these are luxury foodstuffs these days, and only the wealthy deserve to have them...

Excellent local pub with delicious craft beers, my burger was 10/10 and I'm a tough judge, handmade pizza thin crust amazing, I would return often if I didn't live on the other side of the world.

I'm very sorry, but we will never go here again. The prices are absolute extortion. Especially for what you get. £8.50 for a mini Aperol. I've never seen such a tiny drink. Two of my friends didn't like the cocktail and the only solution was to get the money back. The last round was announced shortly before 10 p.m. after we were kicked out of the garden. The bar was closed at 10 p.m. and shortly after 10 p.m. the lights were turned on and all visitors were chased away. That just doesn't work at all. Customer-unfriendly, too expensive, doesn't taste good and not enough for the money. No thanks. Without us.

The food was absolutely awful! The fries and chicken bites were tasteless and way too greasy, Seasoning was forgotten!! The burger was over cooked too. Massively over priced for what you got. Will not be going back!!

Very disappointed that they do not accept cash. That is basically my main complait. The rest was ok.

The pub is a nice place to be, and it's always busy. I'm not a fan of their beers and this place has some horrendous examples of shrinkflation. The dodo burger is now basically a slider for £11.50, on its own. The £4 slaw, was barely a couple of tablespoons. I understand that we are now paying more for food, but I take issue with leaving hungry and still paying a fortune.

Went in this pub a while back, they are all very middle class and upper class hipsters, when I walked in and ordered one guy, a member of staff said I was unfortunate looking and had a moustache even though I'm a 20 year old female. Very weird and nasty.

Delicious pizza. Great place to just sit, grab a drink and enjoy some good bar food.

Went on a weeknight and understood that they do not serve pizza however, when asked the waiter, they did. I had a plain pizza Margherita and friend had classic burger. I really like the pizza, tasty, simple, well cooked, even better than Franco Manca. You can play board games and seems a nice, relaxed atmosphere amongst a cool young crowd as well as an older one.

Organised a small get together for my partner’s birthday. Food, service, atmosphere all brilliant. As a condiment fan, particular recognition should be paid to the range of dips available.

Menu is somewhat rich, service at the bar is killing the vibe. Asked for a pint, the barrel ran out while the bartender was pouring it, then they changed and topped up the pint which looked like a muddy puddle but I thought it was just to looks, it wasn’t. Tasted horrible too. Oh and not to mention it was lukewarm!

Came here with my mum and 4 dogs! We were allowed to sit in sheltered outdoor area. Staff were loverly and chef came to make a fuss of the dogs. Food was absolutely amazing and delicious!

Some of the best food around and a nice cosy atmosphere

This review is just about the burgers served here. The burgers are pretty good and definitely among the better ones in Oxford. I do agree with others here and feel that the meat could perhaps be a bit juicier and of higher quality, given the price of the burgers.
