this was a very not conventional hotel. they charged me for things no person working at a hotel or similar facility would ever consider charging a guest for like basic internet connection to the guest network which came at a daily rate of £5 and could only be used on one device and a £50 private landlord style "deposit" (lol) that they charged me for basically nothing that I'm not even sure I will ever get back. In hindsight, a hotel charging its guests a "deposit" like they were a letting agency or a private landlord renting out a studio room or a shared accommodation may not even be legal. Room was nice though other than a curtain covered in heavy mould and the fact that the room was outside of range of the wifi signals of the guest network which due to the £5 daily access fee I didn't use anyway.

The Russell Court Hotel, Well where do I start. It all started when myself and two colleagues were traveling along the South Coast to enjoy the delicacies it had to offer. I made a reservation costing £70 for the night which I was content with, but shortly after rang a rude employee who I assume is the overall manager of the hotel (shelter at best) who we referred to as Mr Chargable, which will come apparent as to why shortly. The shelter had sufficient parking for a Boeing 747 which was a great start but because of the gradient of the car park, the following advisories must be adhered to... Hill walking boots, above average fitness with no niggles and a recent MOT - ensuring your handbrake is fully functional. For that pleasure (as a paying customer off the hotel) the car park will cost you an additional £18 to stay in. On stumbling through the doors full of cramp and dehydrated from the hike up the car park, the scene before me was like stepping into the rocky horror picture show film set. There sat Mr Chargable, ready to pounce on my every question, first one being is the room empty and ready to occupy? His reply was yes. My next question was, I know we we are an hour early, but can we please move our bags in now? He said yes but that will be a £20 charge! So we kindly declined and came back 50 mins later and he allowed us the keys 5 minutes early (generous). After remind us that smoking or or vaping in the room was a £100 chargeable fee (not that I'd do this anyway), I left Mr chargable for the room. The route to the room was either via stairs and corridors that made you feel like you had your drinks spiked or an elevator that could feature in the new SAW film. After arriving at the door to my assigned room, I swiftly opened it only to be met with a smell that can only be described as one similar to the inside of an ashtray. I could have smoked 20 cigarettes, burnt my old receipts and letters, and Mr chargeable still wouldn't have known past its original stench! I walked throught the musky air towards the window at the far end of the room to open it but to my surprise it was open! The letter box size air vent was my only supply of clean oxygen. The WC facilities were terrible, the shower had more sea life then the footings of bournmouth pier, additionally my towl wasn't large enough to dry a barbie! That was it ! I had to leave, running towards the door fearing I'd shortly run out of oxygen, I tripped on what I could only describe as a Guinness World Record entry of a toenail! I left the hotel never to return, only to talk about the expirence as if it was a story like the grate escape and I had survived the tragic experience of the Russell Court Hotel! I could go on but I think I have built the picture for you and I only have the option of characters 54 left. So please deter yourselves from staying here you may not be as lucky as me.

The worst hotel I ever stayed. Dirty carpet, windows, moulded and never cleaned bathroom, no lights, broken toilet and furniture. Noisy almost all the night. Avoid this terrible and disgusting place. And at final of my Bournemouth’s adventure, It was shame on me, but the owner scammed me with £50 tv deposit after which he told that it was pre-authorisation however I was paid everything in advance.

Went when there was a private party in the restaurant so other guests were asked to use the bar area. Went in looking forward to a nice meal - sat there for 10 mins at 6:30pm waiting for somebody to come to the bar or to ask us what we wanted. Nobody came so we left - receptionist questioned why we were leaving but did nothing to convince us to stay. Go elsewhere folks……….

My wife ordered the food but only if I had read the reviews first I would have easily spent more going to a place with better quality food and more caring customer service. One of the items had gone off. Phoned the restaurant and was told we need to go to the delivery app (uber eats). If my wife had eaten it she would have got sick. The rest of the food was not worth the money.

This was the most disgusting Indian I have ever tasted. The chef should really be sacked as this is not authentic & I have had a better curry at wetherspoons & far cheaper. We were served by a young lad who looked 14 but told us he was 20 & his father was the chef. It took ages to get served & the poppadoms where the weirdest I have ever seen with a very green dip & 2 others. The mains arrived & were very bland with no spice even though we had told him how we liked it. We asked for pashwari naan & they obviously forgot to add the fillings so we sent them back & were brought back the same naan & tried to convince us it was the right one. I went off to find the manager who dismissed any idea that I should be unsatisfied with the food so we refused to pay the whole of the nearly £100 bill. We did offer to pay £60 for the 4 of us as we thought that was fair but the manager only wanted to knock 15% off & said he would call the police so we waited for the police to come & then was told he would except the £60. This place should really be shut down.

Waiting:If you had to wait for over 45 mins to get food and that does not include the wait time to get the order taken. I know its Covid time but with only two customers in the restaurant including us and we were there first as the existing customer had finished eating, really terrible service. Time wasting: You have to pay car parking and the dinner could have been easily served and eaten within an hour but they want to drag the time there so we clock up the car parking charge. Food: Absolutely terrible small dishes with no flavors. Really small Nans at £2.99 and chapatis are so thin like crisps for £2.49. we even got charged for asking for chilly and lemon. how terrible. one star for this. If you value your health avoid at all costs. Dot waste your time or money. Better go and eat at Baboo Ji or Dosa World.

Walking past through it and thought of going in on a Saturday even though I vaguely remembered not so great reviews online. It was surprisingly empty on a Saturday night. Ordered some of our favourite stuff. It was no way near to the authentic version I had. The taste was not great and the smallest size of naan as no tandoori roti have seen ever. Not going again. We bought a voucher from groupon before we read the reviews and so were a little dubious on ordering and collecting. We had bought a meal for four and were looking forward to treating our son and his wife! There were no problems ordering which we did on line. Collecting the food from the Russell court hotel, which very sadly has seen better days was straight forward, and the staff there were very polite. It was 10 minutes late which was not a problem as they were freshly cooking it and it came out piping hot! The food was delicious and plentiful, my starter of chicken tikka was almost too much. Two of us had lamb as a main course (there is a small surcharge for this) but they really enjoyed it and my chicken Kakai had lots of vegetables and was quite spicy, just as I like it! We will be doing again!

No volveremos

Yesterday I came to Bournemouth for the first time with friends from London. We had not book anywhere to stay in advance hence relying on luck to find somewhere that was decent and we wouldn't need a bank loan giving the time of year and location. Well lady luck surely smiled on us, not only did we happen to stumble across this fine hotel. The staff namely RUSHAB (waiter), BHAVIN (Duty Manager) and KAMAL were most accommodating and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were brilliant too, and the bunk beds in my friends room looked so inviting that I wished I was a child again!!! Today it is raining cats and dogs and whilst my friends have taken the plunge to still venture out into the town centre. I have chosen to stay and enjoy the beatiful ambience of the ballroom from where this review is being written. I have also engaged in 'Looking Through The Keyhole' with my accomplice RUSHAB at some of the other rooms so that I can put my reservation in for next year if not sooner. So once again a very big thank you to the staff at The Russell Court for a very enjoyable stay, apologies to the chef if I ate him out of house and home, I'm not big mama for nothing!

All the good reviews is written here is lies, I tried it my self as I ignored the bad reviews before I booked in.When you complain about anything you will be told that you should read about about in the Website before you book in.The Indian man in the reception I believe his the owner, he will leave no other choice, otherwise you will be over charged or loose your money.I have been charged 2 times for keeping my laggage in the reception when I came earlier and leaving. The bed was uncomfortable, was chewing gum in the blanket on top of the matress.Room 218 was boiling hot, the heater was on all the time in the bathroom in the middle of July. The Air conditioning is old and too noisy you have to switch off while you sleeping, the windows are sealed and you cannot open them.

We found this hotel at a walking distance from the Bournemouth pier so thought that we can give it a try as we were in a hurry. This turned out to be a worst decision of our entire trip. The staff was very unprofessional and even after multiple reminders we were not given a table even though multiple tables were empty. After waiting for 15 minutes, we finally got a table. The food prices were quite high but we went ahead and ordered the Indian dishes. The food was completely devoid of any taste. The breads were either prepared from frozen or were cooked hours earlier as they looked completely stale. The portions were very small and none of left the restaurant happy.Overall a very bad experience.

I must honestly say that I used to stay at the RCH years ago, and really enjoyed it.This week I had to travel to Poole and Bournemouth for a few days, and just thought I would give them a call. To my amazement the owner answered the phone who I haven't seen for years so I booked. The staff are great and very helpful, the room I was offered was also brill, and the food was excellent.I would give the Russell Court Hotel 5 Star rating.

Bhavan the bar\kitchen staff was rude slow and slightly .. Actually completly disgraceful!Worst service ever! Reception staff are the same! Do not Do not waste your time at this place 55minutes to make boiled rice and as Bhavan the boy with no sense says, its a justified amount of time. I laughed at his face and walked off.... Obviously payment was not made for the joke of a meal! Hotel owned by Kenyan not nice at all Stay at the premier inn or royal bath or queens instead.

A friend and I went to Bournemouth for the weekend and were absolutely disgusted with the terrible service and attitude we received from the staff on arrival. You are required to pay per item if you arrive any time prior to check in and wish to store your bags. We were also told we needed to pay this charge again the following day. The 'luggage storage room' was just seats in the hotel restaurant so what we were paying for I am still unsure. When we asked why we were being charged this we were told no one had ever questioned this before and that we should have called in advance to check. As a regular traveller, this would have been the last question I would have asked. We also asked if we could place a bottle of wine in the fridge for our return which was rudely refused until we expressed how appalling we thought the service was and eventually they changed their minds. We did not end up cooling the wine - we made the decision to limit the required interaction with the staff. When we returned from the day out and expressed how awful the service had been the manager was not sincere with his apology and really did nothing to attempt to alter our views of the hotel. Overall, coming from a customer service back ground, this hotel really demonstrates how NOT to treat customers.

My daughter stayed at this hotel last weekend, she had gone out on the Saturday and bought herself some expensive perfume to wear in the evening, unfortunately she left it in the room when she checked out. We immediately called the hotel and was advised to call back when housekeeping get in, well I have finally spoken to them and apparently nothing was left in the room!! I am furious. How can they get away with such blatant theft! My daughter also said they were rude and suggestive.. so this is not a hotel for young adult girls... find somewhere else!

I booked this hotel for my dad and my stepmum. So after my family traveling 7 hours I took the to the hotel we walked in the first the reception said is do u have a car its £5 to park. What sort of welcome was that they gave us the key and then told I couldn't go upstairs I had to wait outside wen my family came downs stair looking rather disappointed they said the room was really dirty the carpet was stained the walls were covered in black marks then in the morning they were told it was £12.50 each for breakfast so they went out instead I was very disappoint that I canceled nite 2 and booked a different hotel and il never use them again id rather sleep in the car for £5

From start to finish the service was dismal and the room was worse, nothing like those shown on their website. The room was filthy and the rest of the hotel was in need of updating

I organised a group of 93 to stay here and we have just experienced a great weekend. The manager and all the staff were very polite and helpful, the hotel has just been completely refurbished and was in excellent condition. Surprised to find everything including Sky TV, phone, hair dryer and tea making facilities in a two star hotel. Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for clothes and good lighting for mirrors in the bathroom and bedroom. Well cooked tasty food for meals and good entertainment in the evenings, and all at a very competitive price. Must be recommended.

booked on line, for a one night stay, got there £5 for parking overnight, shown the room, it was on the top floor, 1980's throw back discussing, bed with what looked like horse hair blankets, tea stains down the walls crappy old units, nice black bath mat, with and inch of dirty dust along the top of the bathroom tiles, shower attachment to taps!! cob webs in the corners , wasn't even fit for staff quarters .... we left half an hour later booked into hotel celebrity ...was lush

This hotel is fine to stay in if you do not want anything special. Me and a friend stayed there as we were passing through Bournemouth and it is just a standard room including a Television. Theres a policy which means you have to leave your keys at reception every time you leave the hotel which was a bit annoying. Over all not ideal for a romantic get away or family holiday but its fine for a basic stay.

The manager was arrogant, greedy, very rude, had no idea about customer service. His employers were terrified of him. He treats them like it's the era of slavery. Hello! It's England 2013!It's the worst hotel ever, dirty stained beds, stinky carpets, cracked floor, very noisy water pipes, paper thin walls, wires sticking out of sockets, broken lights. Shall I continue? This hotel should be closed down for safety reasons. For £10 extra you can have 4* hotel just across the road.

I have worked in the hospitality industry for about 5 years. this was the worst hotel i he ever experienced!!We went earlier this month and had requested a double room, and they put us in a twin room, but got moved to a double, also found long blonde hairs in the shower (not mine as mine is red) and short black hairs on the pillows and under the duvet! The staff are not helpful and didnt ask us anything about whether we enjoyed out stay or anything at breakfast, had to wait 10 mins to get a cup of tea!! Crap service and crap hotel!!!!! Would not recommend this place to anyone!! Do not book this hotel. There is a lovely looking premier inn down the hill, with balconies for about 10 more per night!!!

Great Hotel in good location. Friendly staff who are always welcoming. Our group have used this Hotel for several years now and we are always happy with the service, food and accommodation. The only downside is that if you have any mobility problems the hotel is on a steep incline.

We got our room for really good price. The staff were friendly, Our room was small but comfortable. Nothing fancy, there were a couple of things that could be updated or improved but for the price I paid I am really happy with what we got.. We had a nice stay.. Location is good too.. a very short walk to the shops and beach. The hotel is on a bit of a hill so be prepared for a short uphill walk on your way back from the beach. There was a bar and restaurant but we didnt go in either so can't comment on them other than they looked nice..My only real complaint/suggestion would be... When we arrived there was a group of people stood right outside the entrance smoking, which made the entrance lobby smell of smoke. This didn't make for a good first impression so I would suggest a designated smoking area outside away from the entrance..

The food is well cooked and basic. Breakfast is probably the best meal, everything is cooked freshly. Lunch and dinner when we stayed had 3 courses, the starters were always soup or fruit juice. The main courses and desserts were adequate, well cooked but obviously from catering packs. The service was very good

I've ordered from this place for years and always had good food! Not today though! The curry was watery and didn't taste much like a Madras! The rice was bland and the Nan bread was chewy! The Sag aloo looked like the potato had been dipped in spinach sauce or something, it was very bland and there was not much spinach compared to a normal dish, it just looked and tasted weird! Not sure if there is a new chef or change of ownership or just that they're trying to make their dishes as cheap as possible at the expense of the customer, because the price definitely hasnt gone down over the last few years but the quality has! Either way I won't be going back!
