Coriander Indian Takeaway in Bournemouth

I've ordered from this place for years and always had good food! Not today though! The curry was watery and didn't taste much like a Madras! The rice was bland and the Nan bread was chewy! The Sag aloo looked like the potato had been dipped in spinach sauce or something, it was very bland and there was not much spinach compared to a normal dish, it just looked and tasted weird! Not sure if there is a new chef or change of ownership or just that they're trying to make their dishes as cheap as possible at the expense of the customer, because the price definitely hasnt gone down over the last few years but the quality has! Either way I won't be going back!

The delivery experience with this restaurant was very disappointing due to an unacceptably long delay and a total lack of communication. Despite an estimated delivery time of 30 to 40 minutes, my food took over an hour to arrive. After waiting for 45 minutes with no update, I tried calling the restaurant several times, but no one answered. While the food itself was good, the poor service and lack of communication made the overall experience not worth it.

Ordered 3 currys and 2 rice,was given a delivery time and still nothing rang restaurant and no one answers.Had to drive to restaurant to find if the order had been sent which eventually arrived after an 1 hour and 40 mins. The worst customer service, so I have to warn anyone if they are thinking of ordering from Coriander unless you are prepared to wait 1hr 40 mins dont order.

The taste was not good as expected. Lamb biriyani was more sweet and the chicken fried rice was taste less. The chicken curry is average. Very disappointed with this order.

Ignore the negative reviews. Try it out. It wasn't bad. I enjoyed the set menu and found it worth while for the money. Tasty food, cooked well. Big Portions. Enjoyed it overall. Would get it again definitely.

Proper Indian food with depth of flavour, the chef obviously knows his onions. Perfect Chicken Dhansak, lovely rice and i was told that the Chicken Korma was excellent. Will be ordering again.

In the Kappa Biriyani, the quantity of bones was significantly more than the meat.

The food didn’t taste good at all. It was a waste of money for us. Really disappointed. Thalasseri biriyani was neither a Thalasseri biriyani nor a normal biriyani. If this is how food is given to the customer then there will be no regular customer for sure.

I got takeaway from them delivered to the hospital i work at. I ordered masala dosa set, chicken lollipop, paneer chicken kebab, I gotta give a big shoutout to the staff at this takeaway joint – they're amazing! If you like kerala cuisine this is the place to go. Quick with orders, they made sure everything was fresh and tasty. Unwrapping the goodies felt like opening treasure chests of flavor. With such a wide variety on the menu, there's something for everyone's taste buds. You could see they really put effort into how everything looked and tasted. It made takeaway feel like a special treat. Whether you're chilling at home or having a picnic, this place hooks you up with delicious food on the go. Huge props to the staff for making it awesome!

Excellent food, quality ingredients. The Korma was one of the best I’ve tasted in the 40 plus years I have been eating them. Fantastic Naan breads, took me back to the Naan of late 70’s. Unusual however not to receive a vegetable curry with the biryani?

Awful food. Ordered a korma and it’s the worst I’ve ever tasted, taste like it comes out a jar at a supermarket. Food was barely warm. Even the mango chutney was bad. Waste of money

Order from here quite often never have a problem but tonight the korma was far too spicy so very disappointed as the kids wouldn’t eat it other than that the rest of the food was fine

I never get my drink and was not pilau rice as I called to swap the steamed rice for Bombay potatoes… no Diet Coke…

We always order from here, food is always spot on, decent portions and good value for money, they provide great customer service, we have asked for the restaurant to make several changes to the set menu meal for 2 to accommodate our vegetarian diet and they have made the changes we asked for everytime without any issue, delivery is always prompt and the delivery drivers are great too they're never late, food always arrives hot and is packed with care and arrives in perfect condition, thank you!!

Order took 2 hours and some of it was burnt - has 4.6 on Uber eats so don’t be fooled because service is awful and restaurant gave excuses when we called about not having our number when it’s automatically on Uber eats… proceeded to give me my number .. (lol) and then said they’d pass it on to the driver and then proceeded to not deliver for another 40 mins even though they are situated 5 minutes away from us…

Byriani doesn’t come with the vegetable curry sauce it’s just dry rice. Mango chutney is loaded with black pepper. Nomuch flavour or seasoning on nann breads. Worst Indian Ive ever had

Tried ringing but shock horror no answer, have to wait for just eat to get back to me and if I don’t get a refund just eat will be deleted as they are a pure rip off when it comes to refunds for not receiving orders!! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT RIPS YOU OFF ALSO

Food was really good and portions were very generous, meal for 2 was good value for money and the restaurant was very helpful when we asked for the set meal to be changed slightly to suit our dietary needs, we would recommend and happily order from this restaurant again, thank you for our food and the great service.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant so here’s my honest review: for starters the food was bland like tasteless, chicken was tuff and chewy and rice tasted like bag rice. Honestly I’ve had microwaved curries from Iceland better tasting. This will definitely be last time using this place, should’ve spent the extra $ and went to my normal curry house. Lesson learned.

ordered a Bhuna, some Bombay Aloo and a Naan (came with a free Popadom 🙃 ). Bhuna wasn’t as spicy as I had expected, but I really enjoyed the meal, delicious, and I appreciate the distance they came to drop it off. Driver was friendly and polite. Only thing I would change is the potatoes, but I think that’s a personal preference as I like them crispy. Would recommend. 10/10. Thanks for the food 🥂

This is the best Indian restaurant in Bournemouth who knows how to make real Dal makhni. The quality and quantity of food is proper Desi style. Excellent Job master chef

Food overall was good but chicken korma was far to spicy for my children so spoilt their meal

Placed an order via Uber eats as the ratings/reviews on the app were good (4/5 stars) but the order never arrived. Called them 5 times with no answer, even Uber eats customer care team couldn’t get through to help.

I dont know what's happening to this place. Used to be amazing but I'm becoming more disappointed with every order... won't be ordering g here again.... last order seemed like old over cooked rice and the tikka masala? Wasn't masala it almost looked like korma with some weird colour thing in it. I've had masala here before and it was nice ..... not sure why quality's gone down.....

Absolute scammers, ordered on Just Eat and the food never arrived and they don’t pick up the phone. Do not order from these people, they deserve to be shut down. If I could give less than one star I would.

Although late Gulabi chicken tikka was best curry I've had for a long time

Order came missing items. Biryani now comes without a vegetable curry but instead raita, and the vindaloo was just meat and sauce (not a single potato) leaving a 5* review because it’s my favourite takeaway in the bcp area but this new menu needs a rethink.

We always get the special set meals, and they are always amazing. We add a couple extra sides to enjoy and are always left full and satisfied, the food is all very tasty, I especially liked the bhuna.

Taken my money from just eat, took an hour and a half for my curry on its way to get called saying they can’t find my house so I go outside to collect it and get a text saying it’s cancelled as they couldn’t find my house. Not happy, tried ringing the deliverable driver and restaurant several times and notning, will not be using again.

Order 40 minutes late having given over an hour and 15 minutes notice. Nann bread and onion bahji was very good chicken madras was ok I have had better lacked flavour chicken damask the same . First time ordering if it wasn’t so late would’ve been acceptable

2nd time ordering. I love indian food this one i love em for the phal and pathia, quality of these are comparable if not the same to ones in posher ones in Westbourne without the posh price tag. Nv been to the shop but rating as seen on google maps. Ask for more sauces with orders and they been generous without trying to water it down. Simple things big impact well done Coriander...!

Placed a order for delivery Saturday afternoon, food arrived and was missing items I paid for, called and no answer, food was mediocre, I’ve had better wouldnt re visit this place

Ordered through uber eats have waited 1.5 hours since ordering and now had a notification saying our order has been cancelled. Still awaiting a refund. Shocking service will not try using these ppl again

Delivery time was spot on and for most part meal was great. Two complaints, it was quite heavy in the cardamon pods and the chicken tikka saag, was more spicy than usual.

Stay away!!! Polish delivery guy beating on my door because he couldnt wait 10 seconds for the door to be opened, only to then swear at me and threaten to hit me and didnt apparantly as his daughter was in the car when I asked for an apology he then threatend me again. Called the manager to resolve the issue and was not heard from again. Extremely poor service and food was quite greasy

Pathia and pasanda, two favourites, don't disappoint. One spicy, one mild, both delicious. Prices very reasonable for the amount you get. I would highly recommend. I will miss it when I move!

Authentic South Indian food! Love the beef biriyani, kerala chicken curry, idli and every South Indian dish is awesome! Lovely people, would definitely recommend for authentic South Indian food. One of the rare finds in the UK (especially for Kerala food)!!!

Ordered at 6 arrived at 7:50 - they don’t answer the phone to check it’s coming (makes you think it won’t be arriving) 1 out of 2 dishes were wrong - chana bauna instead of chana masala. (Don’t a big fan of bauna so bit of a shame- only a small order to get wrong) Other than that was tasty, maybe restaurant should increase estimated delivery time!

Easily the best Indian takeaway I've had in years!! Couldn't recommend it enough, everything we ordered was delicious, the service was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered for collection and was ready in 15 minutes, food was fresh, flavoursome and really generous portions.

We ordered early evening, food came super quick, hot and tasty. Would recommend and definitely be ordering from here again.

Although I can appreciate delivery times being delayed as weekends are the busiest, waiting Nearly 1.5 hours for food to be delivered . was very disappointing. Maybe more staff/drivers are needed However my food itself was delicious.. Probably actually one of the best chicken tikkas I’ve eaten! Lovely and hot too.

My husband ( Mohit) just ordered Dosa and puri bhaji. -I was a regular customer but last time , sambhar was not there . I was ok and managed. This time I am not sure what they served. Stuffing inside was really bad , look at the color. Also, found hair. I completely understand the challenges you face but if you cant make properly or running out of time, you must close taking order on that day.

Our food has not been delivered

Arrived on time, hot enough to eat and very tasty!

All pompadoms were burnt and tasted burnt so had to throw them in bin. Rice was in clumps and unable to separate . On the bright side curry was nice

Just had a delivery , no poppadoms, even though they were stated in set menu. Hardly no chicken in both curries.

Food was over 45 mins late. Didn’t answer the phone, I called about 5 times. Then finally when they did they lied and said it would be 5 minutes. 15 minutes later I’m told they are stuck in terrible traffic (not sure what traffic there is at 8pm) Then continued to lie telling me they had called me to tell me it was delayed (they had not ) Shame as the food is good. But if they are too busy….don’t accept anymore orders!!

We ordered 2 chicken tikka masalas and they didn't even look like tikka masalas let alone taste like masala. Maybe we got the wrong dish but definitely tasted like a shop bought jar of curry. The onion bhajis were great
