Had a delivery -1 hour and 20 mins late !!!! Food not great either sorry !!

2hrs 20mins and still no food tried calling and got no answer after 20mins of waiting for them to pick up. had enough of this place absolute joke of a place, never again very unhappy and can’t get our money back be careful of this place. Was a nice place and good food but no more.

We didn't get what we ordered, and what was actually delivered tasted disgusting and was cold. Several of us had stomach aches and one was vomiting the next day.

Awful food tonight, most of the meal was cold, the tarka dhal was just oil with uncooked lentils, salad had seen better days(which I paid extra or) chicken sashlik was cold and had a twang to the chicken, really disappointed such a shame as was a very good restaurant previously

Can I give the food no stars ? It was a horrendous meal , certainly not authentic tandoori food . I had the chicken bhuna ( curry sauce and chunks of chicken) with garlic rice ( I had nuts in mine for some reason) bland and tasteless . The popodoms were greasy and the oil needed changing as that’s all you could taste . As you walk in you are blinded by the pink glowing bar area which is an eye sore and I’m sure the whole lighting was a deterrent so you couldn’t see what you were eating. If you are looking to go somewhere to talk with friends or family then this isn’t the place as you are shouting over the heavy music. We only had 1 drink each as they ran out of Kingfisher beer !!!! Come on guys it’s Saturday night ! No dessert offered just the bill shoved on our table . We won’t be going back .

Came to eat at Westbourne Tandoori the other day, first time in Bournemouth my friends told me this restaurant is amazing and they were wrong best Indian food i had in a while the atmosphere was so pretty i loved the vibe had such a wonderful time. The service was great had a good laugh with the waitress both working there very helpful girls made sure we had everything, the restaurant was quite busy but they were so polite and reassuring for the inconveniences but that didnt stop was from having an amazing dinner love it here 100% recommend and 100% coming back here

So after goin 10 years a go was are favourite then stop going after a few bad experiences we decided to go last Night after 5 year and I can honestly say it was the worst Indian restaurant we been to when we turned up, we were the first people there and were the only people there on a Friday night the atmosphere was horrible for me, it has changed massively the new decor and pink neon lights everywhere didn’t do it for me The food was okay, but all pretty much tasted the same and horrendously expensive drinks were poor atmosphere was poor just won’t be going back there again ever it’s very sad, but this used to be the best restaurant you could go to. It is now for me the worst. Also try to massively overcharge us

Walked by and decided to come in just for drinks. We’ve ordered takeaway from here a lot so thought we’d try coming in. Our servers were Nora and Emz and they were very accommodating. The atmosphere is very welcoming and homey. We would definitely recommend this place.

Music so loud it can be heard a mike away, threatened with violence when I asked for it to be turned down Very nasty place, would never eat there

It was my first time in Westbourne tandoori, but my husband has been there a couple of years ago and he was shocked at how much have changed in there since then - especially quality wise. I on other hand have noticed from a start how filthy the restaurant seemed, but we stayed just for food. We both got 2x prawn curries and got 5 prawns in each that definitely weren’t king size. Overall payed 70£ for two, we did order expensive king prawn curries but definitely nothing is worth 19£ if you get 5 prawns for that price. Service was okay, but unprofessional, seemed bit lazy, bistro type of restaurant where you will get your food delivered by trolley. It’s okay, but for the price would expect more. Wouldn’t recommend!

Appalling customer service! Ordered delivery from uber eats, waited an hour and the food still wasn’t ready. Called the restaurant and was just told your food is on the way, they wouldn’t even take our order number. Another 20 mins past and then I got a message that the restaurant had cancelled my order. By this time they were closed. Such bad service, will never order from here again.

Loved the food and how friendly the staff are. Plus, I called in on a Wednesday, which is banquet night, and i can tell you it is well worth the value

We were expecting an entertaining evening including belly dancing, what we got was loud rap music, unfriendly service no belly dancing and no atmosphere, so disappointed we will use other Indian restaurants in Westbourne in future. Nice surroundings but please sort the waitress, and don’t promise what you can’t fulfill !!

Sorry it’s taken 2 weeks to post this! Always lovely food at the Westbourne Tandoori. Nice, modern place to go with the family. Courtney has served us several times, she’s helped us with deciding what to have (if you don’t want the same thing over and over!) and is just a lovely friendly young lady. How to see you again soon!

This is very popular with the local Police. So much so nine Police cars turned up a few months ago. Poppadoms all round! Very much old style but it has a good local following. The staff are very hospitable.

The food looked nice and was presented well but lacked flavour. All of our 3 meals were very benign as if essential spices were missing! This restaurant is on the upper end of the price scale which would have been ok if the food had been delicious which unfortunately it wasn’t.

On a positive note, the decor is pleasant and the place appears spotlessly clean. The food is decent enough but the overall experience is let down by indifferent service and worst of all, music which is a mix of rap and bhangra, played far too loudly and full of sexist and racist expletives. It's certainly not the place for a nice meal with your family or for entertaining clients, unless they are extremely broadminded. Overall, a disappointing experience and whilst I'm not easily offended I found the entire thing uncomfortable. We won't be making a return visit anytime soon, particularly as there are other restaurants in Westbourne which do it a whole lot better.

Went out this evening for a meal with our 94 year old grandmother...what should have been a treat was nothing more than a s**show... Staff were unenthusiastic to say the least about finding us a table in an empty restaurant .. Food came out wrong and cold .... The meat was bouncy and tough.... Music was too loud... The bill was far too expensive for what we received....I've had better jar home cooked curries for £5 ... Not what it used to be years ago ....Real shame .....

Food was lukewarm, curry was watery (5 pieces of chicken - this was £15) and ‘garlic fried rice’ (£6) was plain rice with burnt garlic and raw onion. Service was alright but considering the price range of the restaurant the service didn’t match. Overall disappointed considering the price we paid £50+ for two people. Also weird dubstep music going on the whole time…

The food was massively over priced 55 pound for two people and was more of a soup then a curry .had 3 bits of chicken in the curry (£16)in it and was really watered down .the service wasn’t the greatest a few rude comments here and there from the staff. wouldn’t recommend

Service is pretty good, atmosphere is bizarre but amusing and the food is akin to something you’d get from a supermarket take-away meal deal. The toilets and their hygiene level and are similar to what you’d find in the Walkabout circa 1999.

Amazing food, been coming for 8 years now, never disappoints! Would definitely recommend and will continue to come!

Not very high quality- the staff can barely speak English which is not good when you’re running a service business in the UK. Food all tasted the same and was of cheap quality. Definitely overpriced for what it is

Food poor to average. Peshwari naan burnt and lacking in flavour, other dishes lacked depth of flavour. Music too loud for a restaurant, seat’s dirty , could go on, guess you get the picture. ….had been recommended, very disappointing.

Shambles of an evening!! Something is off about the service, food and drinks! We were waiting 2hrs for our food. Nobody came to rake a drinks order. The staff seemed far more interested in the sound system, than looking after their customers. When we finally grabbed their attention to order drinks. It took 30 minutes to receive them. Once received. It was obvious. There was no alcohol served in our drinks. Tonic with no gin, lime and soda with no vodka. Cocktails were just fruit juices. I could see at the bar they hadn't a clue. I did begin to wonder if they even had alcohol on the premises. As all of us drinking had issues with our drinks. We were a group 15... How can they "forget" to put the booze in all of our drinks... Very suspicious. Eventually my own drinks were resolved , after complaining (twice they forgot the vodka) But still, the soda was flat. The lime cordial tasted off. There was something unpleasant in the drinks. Not sure why. But It's didn't finish the second one as it was not palatable. Sadly the service was so poor. Especially the rude male staff members. They didn't keep us in the loop of when we could expect the meal to arrive. Were not apologetic. In fact borderline aggressive with us every time we asked. The evening continued to get Worst still! When the food finally arrived. More than 2 hours after arriving in the restaurant. It was cold or luke warm at best ... Some of my dinner companions didn't have their rice or sides arrive until after they'd finished ! I ate a few bites and felt the chicken (?) didn't taste right... It had clearly been sat around for hours. The sauce had that thin layer of skin over it when something has sat out for too long. The biryani rice was dryed out and really chewy. But again it tasted off. It made me feel quite queasy. Unfortunately, another friend also felt the same. So much so that they ended up vomiting. Again no concern or attention or even care was given by the rude staff. When the bill came, they tried to insist we pay cash. And wanted us we pay in one lump sum. We refused. And paid individually for our meals. Although quite frankly, they didn't deserve half of the payment. Never have I experienced that when paying a bill. Which was overpriced! Poor and rude service. Worst I've experienced in year's. Terrible food. Feeling queasy thinking about it. Even the salad was mouldy looking shredded lettuce. Overpriced. Waste of money. It was a ruined evening. It should have been a nice celebration for a colleagues leaving do. Instead we all left feeling frustrated, cross or sick! If I could give it a zero rating I would!

Ordered 2 x chicken biriani and got god knows what. No taste and certainly not my idea of a chicken byriani

Takeaway very poor & extremely expensive. We would also question the meat being served as it was incredibly strong and overpowered the sauce and spices. I can only describe it as the same taste as turkey so i am guessing they were using turkey meat. Salad served was just iceberg lettuce & a slice of cucumber. For what they are charging and the strange tasting 'chicken' we would not recommend or visit again.

Great service, amazing food, good value for money.

Awful experience, sent us good with gluten in when my husband's coeliac. Couldn't eat the order and got no refund from the restaurant. Very appalling, not the first time we have had this experience but gave the benefit of the doubt, will not be returning.

Booked a table for 21st with friends, had confirmation it was accepted then 2 days later get a call from someone who works there being extremely rude telling me the table was cancelled with no reason why, tried to ask him and he put the phone down. If this is the way you treat customers i shall be recommending friends go elsewhere

Terrible takeaway. Firstly it was 15 mins late, then when we got back to our Air B&B it was missing a whole meal and we had to drive back 15 mins to collect it (why didn't they check). Then they said for any refund we had to go via online - well it's not possible. Cannot find anywhere to do that on their site. Worst of all, the food was very poor. I have had lots and lots of Chicken Shashliks but this was just pure salt flavour. There is no way this can be a top Indian restaurant. Don't be taken in by their website.

Have ordered takeaways from Westbourne Tandoori on a number of occasions and I've always been satisfied. On New Year's Eve we ordered two chicken bhuna, mushroom rice, pilau rice and onion bhaji at a cost of £35 to be delivered. The food arrived within 40 minutes which we were impressed with but the chicken was so dry, tough and chewy that I ate two pieces and the rest went in the bin so I had just rice for my meal. My husband ate his only because he was so hungry. I emailed the venue straight away (I didn't call because I guessed they would be extremely busy on such a night) but have had no response whatsoever. If they had replied to my email and resolved the issue with me personally they could have saved themselves a one star review.

Tasteless biryani, really no flavour at all. I complained to the waiter and he just said “sorry” - no offer of a refund or exchange. The coke was flat. AND THEY CHARGED NEARLY £8 FOR 3 POPPADOMS AND SAUCES!!! There is no reason at all to go here - avoid

On arrival red flags shouted leave we were seated in a booth all we could smell was a mouldy smell..gave forgiveness for old buildings ... lovely waitress polite staff offer menus it was at this point we realised table was dirty and sticky waitress offered to move us we said its OK just give it a wipe again should of left... Food was ok at best the whole restaurant needs attention if it wasn't for the fact it was the first curry house we visited as a new couple in2006 would of left in a heart beat ...however we were visiting memories many memories of a life together thankfully nort resting on the curry years later ...my advice re think owners have clearly changed disappointed 😞

Take away last night and very disapointing as the two main dishes were very chilli hot ( should not be so )and both had an odd flavour, nigh on unedible. Been using this place for years so very disapointing - new owner or trainee chef ?

The food and service are ok but the price is totally ridiculous. There are so many Indians in Westbourne with much better food for half the cost, we certainly won’t be back.

Nice food, good service but we were a bit shocked with the bill at the end. Shabnam Chingri from the specials was delicious. Peshwari naan went really well with it. Westbourne tandoori special also delicious. Our friends had vegitable korma with rice and were quite happy with. The only issue I see here are the prices, way too high as you would expect for an indian restaurant on that level.

Food was really good but we did chase the specials which are more expensive. I found the westbourne tandoori grill to be a little too sweet, but it was cooked beautifully. I was a little shocked that the bill came out to be 124 quid for 4 people and 3 main dishes with a bit of rice, a bread and some pappadums. But that did include 5 pints and a glass of wine. I think the charge for 4 pappadums was way over the top specifically. Service was fine although we were the only people in the restaurant so you'd hope it was fine. It was a bit chilly inside and the toilets were freezing. Guess they have to save on heating costs these days. But all was clean and tidy. I can;t say i will be going back, and its not because of the food quality, whch is a shame. It's just the value is not there compared to competing restaurants in the same area.

Great atmosphere and food and service! Went for NYE and was great , amazing entertainment the food was delicious and service couldn’t have been better! Will definitely be retuning and highly recommend.

Before winning the stupid award, this place was always cheap and cheerful, and was always busy. Now, the prices are just insane (way higher than London prices), the service is awful, the garish pink decor looks like it is promoting the Barbie movie, and the food now tastes (is tasteless) worse than a supermarket value range. I guess we are all now expected to pay for the award and Angel Rippon. This could be the end of Westbourne Tandoori unless they have a massive rethink.

Was empty in there sat near toilets got asked if we want poppadom while waiting got charged £15 for 8 then chicken was really tuff and food well over priced won’t be going back as other customer moaning whilst there very disappointed as Christmas work outing

Seems expensive not good value for money. Restaurant and toilets not particularly clean debris on carpet, toilet floors sticky also ladies toilet seat not fixed properly 1 side loose and seat not fully over pan difficult to avoid sitting on pan. Musty smell in restaurant. Baby lobster dish served with shells on despite menu referring to shelled baby lobster (which we took to mean shells removed), served covered in sauce no tools provided to remove shells or water bowls to clean fingers. Manager informed no concession given staff were sorry but didn’t find this response good enough and won’t be returning.

We went to one of their special event themed evenings on a saturday night and wasn't disappointed. We arrive for the earlier evening session and the place was very full and were welcomed by the fantastic DJ playing great chilled out sounds/mix by the bar. We had a table near the bar and ordered the usual popadoms and chutneys which were delicious and washed down with pints of deliciously chilled cobra. We had the glorious chicken shashlick with sagaloo, onion bhaji. keema naan and spicy samosa's, all utterly delicious. The entertainment was simply amazing, a fire eating, dancer and and later a belly dancer who was phenominal, 6 Star quality entertainment. If you want a top quality evening out in dorset you won't find a better establishment!. Can't wait to return, if you are in the area a must to visit.

Poor hygiene toilets disgusting chefs apron dirty would never recommend this place to anyone.

We had used this Indian quite a few times historically as my partner is coeliac and we had been reassured. The last two times our orders have arrived with naan bread in the bag and no evidence that the orders gluten free and poor reassurance from the restaurant resulting in two takeaways being thrown away by us, the first time we accepted places make mistakes but now it's happened again we certainly won't be returning from an allergy reassurance point of view.

Gone down hill had to wait ages for food and when it arrived it was just warm not how it should be , service was terrible asked for a glass of water got it slammed down on the table would never go again girls more interested in pouting there lips and taking selfies what a shame this was our favourite Indian restaurant for years !!!

Just had a great meal, it was lovely. They even offered us to stay extra to watch The show at 19.30 but unfortunately we had to go. Keep up the good work. Restaurant is beautiful, staff are helpful and the food is delicious. I would recommend to everyone.

We were pushed to have poppadoms before even being offered a drink. We asked for Tanqueray gin and elderflower tonic as on the menu but they had neither. Curry was OK but coconut rice was better suited to a pudding it was so sweet, cold and horrible. Sat waiting to be offered a dessert or coffee, when nothing was forthcoming I asked for coffee and they said they don't do dessert or coffee anymore. Very poor. Will never go back again. Very expensive too for what little we had.

On an occasional night out with my partner, we had decided to book the Westbourne Tandoori for it's event evening. Unfortunately we didn't get anywhere near ordering or enjoying the entertainment as the customer service was diabolical. When we attempted to order, we were ignored at our table and dismissed by one certain young lady with a wave of her hand as if we were an annoyance, plus we found ourselves shouting over the volume of the music. If this is customer service and with food that expensive, then I'm sorry, I'll take my custom elsewhere. Disgraceful!

We visited this place last night. Food was dreadful. Sloppy service. Wine was short measured..I ordered and paid for a 250ml measure. It certainly was not. Barmaid would not measure it out. Insisted that the glass was 250ml size. I will.be informing weights and measures for sure. Live entertainment was chaotic. Would never go back.

This is the 3rd attempt at ordering from this restaurant and none have been successful. Ordered a takeaway on Saturday night via their website and order confirmed and delivery would be 50 mins. Just after 1 hour I rang and was advised the order was out for delivery, rang again 20 mins later and told the delivery driver Mike had the order and was 7 mins away, 15 mins later still nothing. Rang back the restaurant told he was still en route. After 2 hours rang the restaurant and advised we wanted the order cancelled and money refunded. No explanation as to what happened to our meal. I have emailed and contacted them via social media for a refund and no response. 3 days later money still not refunded- do not order from their website direct, use something like Deliveroo where you can have a 3rd party return your money.

Poppadoms were the nicest that I have ever eaten. Naans a delight. Food nicely presented beautifully and hot. All very delicious. Service was very good.

Really disappointed!! Waiting over two hours for a delivery, called many times to enquire where our order was, the phone was not answered! Don’t waste your time!!

Is this considered fraud to change more on the bill then on the menu I wonder? £14.60 extra. Price on menu for food £46 and yet price we paid £60.60. For example; Chicken Tikka (off the bone) on menu £11 yet we paid £16, Tandoori King Prawns on menu £17 yet we paid £21, Peshwari Naan on menu £4 yet we paid £6…and so on. I’ll upload the receipt for all to see. Apart from the Poppadoms that were not fresh at all and tasted of rancid oil flavour the food was good and well presented. Although served on black plates which I personally don’t like as I find it easier to enjoy the colours of the dishes on a white plate. The atmosphere seemed pleasant and the decor was appealing to my eye with this owner, and as we have been eating at this restaurant for at least 33 years I have seen the decor in many differing styles. I was taking my best friend of 38 yrs out for a 53rd birthday meal and so we were enjoying a good chat, and eating slowly to enjoy the food. Reminiscing for a starter of how we used to spend so much time in this restaurant and indeed now we have more time that kids are soon off to Uni etc. we must resurrect our Westbourne Tandoori nights. Unlikely now so we’ll be looking for an alternative regular restaurant. I am trying to think why they did this but alas I am at a loss. I don’t believe it has been done by mistake as towards the end we realised that it was too late for a dessert (fingers crossed the ice cream they once offered was the same) and instead asked for two teas but was met with a very blunt response that the kitchen was closed. It was 10:20pm. I apologise and asked if he would like us to leave but we were told they were open until 11pm. We could also hear other guests chatting and relaxed again but thought it somewhat odd and just put his slight rudeness down to just having a bad day or just that sort of personality. We were late…ops. I had booked the table for 7.30 but my godson and son to my dinner partner wanted a lift into bournenouth which made us 15mins late but which a immediately apologised for upon arrival. So we arrived at 7:45pm and left at 10:45. They didn’t seem especially busy but I probably would not have noticed as we were in the end booth and busy chatting. Maybe they thought they could squeeze another dinner in if we ate quickly and left? However other guests arrived at similar time and stayed for a similar amount so probably not that. We were obviously polite not just because we just are but also because we had said we must try and come here at least once a month. We were quite slow in ordering as we were chatting but the second time we were asked what we’d like we did say. Again I am at a loss as to why I was over charged. We didn’t really feel we were annoying them by eating too slowly and enjoying the food. The waiters all were mostly very professional and polite so they didn’t seem bothered with us and others were also spending a similar time eating. It may however be we simply didn’t order enough food because sadly we are both rather slim and reasonably short and neither of us have a big appetite. We actually left a fair amount and so I apologised that we could not finish all our food but please let chef know it was lovely. We were planning on returning so obviously didn’t want to allow chef to think we didn’t enjoy the main meal. We did leave a small space for something sweet like ice cream and we were hoping that we’d be offered a dessert menu but alas we were not offered and because we were catching up on news the time just flew past and we suddenly realised the time and felt it too late to order ice cream. I am really rather disappointed and sad about the new owners of this restaurant as we used to go their nearly every week for many years in our 20s and have been returning for all our Indian Meals for at least 33 years. It sadly seems it is now time to breakaway and try a more honest restaurant until this owner sells and we can once again return. You maybe wondering why I didn’t say anything when the bill arrived as I did notice and therefore left zero tip. I just didn’t want to end my birthday meal to the mother of my godchild etc. with a row over £14.60. I am a good tipper of often 20% to restaurants that we know we will be returning as I was brought up that this act of generosity may very well likely be rewarded in the future. For example if we want to book a table on a busy night at short notice, and also due to the fact we are slow eaters with small appetites that would very much like a booth so we can feel more at ease having a gossip. The tip I was think on my mental arithmetic was going to be £10 on a bill I was expecting to be around £55. So from their view point they are up £4.60 but have lost £55 + £10 tip monthly. Mind you they weren’t to know how loyal we once were to the Westbourne Tandoori. Years ago other guests would wonder who we were with the friendly welcome we once proudly received. We used to enjoy very much how the owner used to have a knowledgeable friendly chat and how we’d often get a free liquor with our coffees. (In our salad days of having a strong coffee at 10:30pm. Crazy!) We had very many happy times at the Westbourne tandoori and I dare say that one day in the future we will again but sadly not while in the current owners hands. After over 33years of returning it is however sad that we must now stop. I do very much wish they were not so dishonest as if they were honest they would have got very nearly all the extra greed they desired and have realised we’ll be back. During those cold quite winter months we will be loyal. Ho hum what can we do but vote with our feet and walk away.

Very Poor Service I'm so disappointed with how the restaurant treats their customer... Went to have dinner with family... the attitude of the restaurant manager was (I can't be bothered) Never seen such a lack of regard for customers... even when we shared some of our concerns, he was like, "This is how we are.... Table of 5 guests 2 Napkins given... 3 set of cutlery... when serving water... the lady was bringing waterholding glasses 1 by1 by hand... Starter had hair in it... They got our mains wrong 2 times... And got us one dish after we finished eating On raising concerns they said As you can see we are busy... And he had 2 tables occupied... I told him I dont think you are busy... They were I dont care what you think we are running the restaurant for many years.... I wish someone had taught them hospitality.... Avoid unless they fix their attitude and substandard food... Never again...

We haven't been here since pre covid and looks to be under new management. Maybe because it was a Thursday night but it was pretty dead sadly. And the food was a little bland and not particularly hot. For a start, the tikka is no longer served on a hot metal dish sizzling. Shame as it used to be great food and had a buzz about the place. Now I need to find a new tandoori 🫤

We use Westbourne Tandoori regularly and Anwar’s team are always efficient and friendly. Consistently good food; when we call up they know who we are and we like that we feel valued customers.

Ordered a takeaway just shy of £40 via Uber Eats which arrived late, cold and crushed. I've emailed them twice but they haven't responded which I find very rude... so I'm hoping this will trigger a response and some form of apology and gesture of good will. Normally the food is on time, hot and delicious.

It’s not the incompetance it’s the lying. Ordered from Deliveroo, phoned twice but was lied to twice and waited nearly two hours only to have to cancel as had to find food elsewhere.

I can understand a place thats full of incompetent people but this place just seems to be full of liers. Ordered a takeaway, left it 40 mins past the anticipated delivery time, phoned for an update to be told it was leaving in 5 mins - phoned again after another half an hour to be told be might leave the restaurant in 10 to 15 mins. canelled order on deliveroo as no idea when it might arrive and ordered elsewhere. shame is you cant leave a review on deliveroo if you canel the order so they may well do this regularly but the deliveroo review status stays high artificially... Good to know

Very tasteless food and service is also not good

Good food but high prices, nearly 50% higher than 15 months ago. Drinks usual ripoff. Ambience of a busy bus station only noisier from stand-mounted speakers at each end of restaurant blasting out Asian rap. We could hear it on the busy street before we went in. Inside everyone was bawling at each other to be heard but being England, nobody complains. Not for us. We won’t go back.

I’m from Wales and it’s alien to me how people in England eat so early on a Saturday night? In Newport and Cardiff u go out and have a few beers and go have a curry at midnight/1/2/3am!? Lol x So I came to see a dear friend who lives in Dorset and we had a few beers and he didn’t realise it was 10 o clock? PM!!!! I didn’t see what the panic was until he said, “the restaurants will stop serving by now?” Saturday night??? 22.00??? So I said let’s find an Indian? They’re open til 4am!!! Not in England!!!!!! (Well at least posher places like Dorset) He drove to Westbourne and the Westbourne tandoori caught my eye! It’s bright pink from the outside and when u enter they had really good recent music playing… there are roses and elephant heads on the walls. Really unusual… my kind of place! We ordered a garlic chicken dish.. and a Balti and two beers. We were the only ones left there by 22.30 and it was strange coz in Newport Wales it’s just starting to get lively! Lol. We had a lovely chat with the owner Amz? He’s really passionate about his business (good guy!) Had a nice meal.. it’s not a negative comment but obviously the price range here and the amount of meat in the dishes are different than my local Indian restaurant in Newport because Southern England is double the price to live! However, the prices are relatable to the area and I would’ve liked a “couple” pieces more chicken. But I’m a spoilt Cheap Welsh lady! So yes, hopefully when we return there will be live entertainment and we will get to meet the great owner again! Mr. Amz!

Absolutely shocking service ,phoned at 5.15 placed our order,told it would be 50 mins to an hour ,fair enough being a Friday eve. After an hour and a half called asking where our order was,they said it's on its way ,ten minutes max....half an hour later at 7.15 two hours after we placed our order,I called again ..all they could say was I'll check with my colleague,then when I said Ive been waiting two hours he said that's impossible we weren't even open then ?? !!!! Bearing in mind westbourne tandoori is always open at five to take orders !! Really awful service and total disrespect for our custom....

We had a takeaway for 4 last evening, this being our first visit here. Firstly it is very expensive and there seems no justification for this. The food was overall very disappointing. Many dishes such as veg. curry ,biriyani, and chicken balti were bland and lacking any flavour or character. The okra was probably tinned and again lacked any flavour. On this tasting I cannot understand how it won awards - seemingly the competition wasn't that high. Certainly we have not found a good Indian restaurant in this area. Really can't recommend it.

Absolutely disgusting would never recommend to anyone.We ordered prawn parathia, saag aloo, chicken tikka masala and poppadoms. No poppadoms came, tikka masala bright RED!!! Chicken false. No taste at all. I am a chef and was recommended this place as the best Indian!!! Err no way.

We are from the Midlands and got to Bournemouth on a Saturday night. We wanted an indian in our second night and went with this restaurant. We love our Indian food, we love our spices and flavours. The starter was not good, bla d as ever and just warm. No flavours in our starter or mains. No flavours in our chicken and lamb dishes, they need to definitely change their chef, service was standard nothing special, I definitely wouldn't recommend them, customer feedback I belive is important, without the customs feedback you will never know if there are room for important. Very disappointing.

An up market indian food restaurant.

We decided to go here for our anniversary meal and to be honest we wish we had chosen somewhere else. The service was not good, we wasnt greeted nicely, the waiter who was stood behind the bar in his phone seemed like he could'nt be bothered to serve us. Once we finished our meals we wasn't even asked if we wanted a desert or coffee liquor which I usually have and instead we was left just sitting there. We ended up asking for the bill and even after we paid we didnt even get a thankyou for dining with them. The food is very expensive, and I'm pretty sure it's gone up loads since I last visited. The food was lovely but the service has put me off visiting again.

Good food good service would recommend.

The curry itself was good, nothing special but certainly tasty. It was however extraordinarily expensive and the waiter was indifferent to the point of being rude. Everyone has an off night and the food was, as I say, good.

Booked occasion one month prior to going online, got the confirmation, on arrival with eight other friends, they had no booking and was full, had events night that evening with two sittings, showed them my confirmation, but had to wait one and a half hours...

Ordered for delivery. Excellent pre-order system online. Ordered a feast for 6 people including one child. Food arrived exactly within time slot, all tasted wonderful. Will definitely order again. Worth the £3 delivery charge to Littledown.
