The Running Horse Harvester in Maidstone

Love the harvester ,but I do belive you should have a area for people with no kids .I know its family friendly but sometimes it would be nice to eat with out screaming kids

Service was shocking - took 30 mins for our order to be taken, although it was busy and like every restaurant seamed to be understaffed. Whilst most of the staff were nice our waitress was rude and I would expect better from someone within such a service and customer based industry (having come from a similar background myself) In terms of the food it was one of the worst meal I have ever had. Was over cooked and had a lack of flavour - topping it all off we wasn’t served what we ordered and the food looked like it came fresh from a ready meal packet.

Only good thing is the salad bar

I can't believe how the staff at the harvester are still making money I came today we ask for the kids menu as cheaper and smaller portions the lady Leslie argued then went see her manager who refused and we could have one portion of salad which they should be promoting healthy eating and still charge me 23 .98 Leslie was rude unfortunately unwelcoming I st left a tip I'm not happy

Dropped in one evening on the way home from a day out. The staff were friendly. Well stocked salad bar. Everything was well presented and clean. We were greeted and seated quickly. I had battered Halloumi and chips. Freshly cooked and hot.My friend had chicken burger and she said it was lovely. Large menu choices, I believe there something for everyone. Great place for families. Good parking area .Highly recommend

Food was awful chicken like rubber dessert was made from the cheapest ingredients and very expensive, I've had better foods at weatherspoons also was put in the bar area and I booked the restaurant area service was really slow, my bill was £120 complete waste of money

Kerry the birthday girl gave us amazing service and was on top of all of our needs, everyone was very friendly and helpful Tom mr bar man did some lovely cocktails with amazing service and all very helpful when we needs to sterilise our little ones dummy x

We visited in the October half term with 3 children. The food was served quickly and was great value for money. Our waitress was Teresa who was absolutely fantastic. She interacted brilliantly with the kids and had a good rapport with customers.

Despite being 15 minutes late for reservation staff where still very accommodating and found us a table. We we're served by Teresa whom was very welcoming, friendly and helpful during our visit. She ensured our visit was an enjoyable one based on staff like her we will probably return again very soon for another meal.

We used to be regular visitors of this restaurant, but it has really gone downhill lately. Last time we visited (August 2024), it was 20 minutes AFTER I ordered chicken that the waitress told us there was NO chicken. Hoping that was a one off for poor service, we went back tonight. The waiter was miserable and bored sounding (having been served by him many times before, we know this was not simply an off day for him!). I asked what sides were available other than potatoes, as I can’t eat them. I was told to look at the menu. When we were eventually able to order, I had opted for the ONE menu item that wasn’t served with potatoes. My husband asked for no chips with his steak, and was offered rice as an alternative - an alternative that was not listed on the menu, or offered to me when I told of my dietary restrictions. At that point, we decided to leave. We were told by the waiter that we could, but would have to pay for our untouched drinks before we left. Needless to say, we won’t be going back to this restaurant.

Our first time here since the launch of the new menu and we found it a little confusing compaired to the old menu but managed to order with the help of the waitress. The salad bar selection had plenty of choice but could of been replenished a big quicker. Our food was ok albeit the portions don't seem to reflect the new price increase. Very friendly helpful staff. Plenty of parking opposite it

I'm not one for remembering to write reviews but once in a while when I think someone really deserves one I will put a reminder in my phone (I'm ADH and forget everything!!) I first went to the Harvester about 5 months ago this was the first time a left a review because our waitress Victoria was so lovely and when I told her this she asked if I would leave a review and I felt that I wanted to - it is because of her that every month I drive an hour to meet my friends in the same place each month instead of trying somewhere new - the one time she wasn't working our poached eggs had to go back, she ensures that everything is jut ow we like it and her friendly smile and warm demeanour make a good full English really taste delicious and is so much mor enjoyable! Victoria just know you really make our day each moth we come - thanks you so much !!!

My husband took me here for a breakfast which we've never done before and I have to say what wonderful wonderful service. The lovely young lady that served us was amazing. She was bubbly. She was smiley and another morning that you know if it's raining she would be amazing and she was amazing. Her service was 100% and more. The food was really lovely too. The atmosphere was really nice. It was peaceful and yes it was getting busy which is good but the atmosphere the service everything was great just like to say a big thank you to all the staff there and I actually got to see the area manager as well to give her my views on on this as well because I think everyone deserves to be thanked for what they do so the running horse 100% from us. Thank you!

Excellent service by Alice - very attentive, warm and friendly. She went above and beyond to make our visit a great one. Food was really tasty and delivered quickly to our table - super portion sizes. Salad bar was stocked well and we all had our favourites to enjoy.

First time visiting and was met by Teresa, she was very welcoming! Food was just as amazing as the service. Will definitely return!

Honestly one of the nicest Harvesters I've ever been too. Staff were super nice and friendly and went out of their way to help and assist in anyway they could. Lovely location and really nice interior. Only issue was the car park wasn't big enough for all the people who were in there

Fantastic customer service from Mel! Food delicious 😋. Our fussy 12yr old thinks Harvester sausages are heavenly (where can I get them?). A great treat on a Saturday morning after a busy week.

Usually I have only had mainly negative experiences at harvesters in recent years so when my friend suggested visiting I must admit I expected the worst but to my surprise I was greeted by a young friendly professional woman who I believe is called Julia. She really did make our whole experience a absolute pleasure and I must say she is a absolute asset to your company as she single handedly turned my view of the harvester brand completely around. She was full of life and couldn't have been more attentive. I would like to say from myself and my whole family a massive thank you for making our visit so special and I can't wait to come back soon. 5☆ Ps. Take uou to Georgia as well as she was a absolute star as well and was very attentive double checking we had everything we needed.

Easy, efficient and great food.

Hadn’t t booked, so was busy. Didn’t mind that we sat in the bar area. Felt not value for money, baked potato wasn’t available so chips were offered and accepted but then broccoli wasn’t available which was on the menu and just a spoonful of peas on the plate. Server did bring some more peas when mentioned. Had the chicken, partner had scampi. Wasn’t blown away by either, sadly wouldn’t return.

Very pleasant evening helped along with amazing food and very accommodating staff. Party of 7

The driver called an told me to open the door, but he was at the wrong address. He did not speak or understand English, so he had to knock on another door and the lady talked to me, so we sent him to the lobby and my daughter went downstairs to fetch the food. So unprofessional non having your personnel properly trained!

food was good albeit I had to collect it myself, out of harvesters control I might add too

Told no rotisserie chicken was available at 7:30 pm on a Saturday was told we could have a chicken breast or another half rack of ribs instead as we ordered the original combo. When the meal came over an hour and 10 minutes later, the chicken breast was tiny,Rubbery and overcooked the waitress told us that the tiny piece of chicken breast we had was equivalent to a quarter rotisserie chicken! when we got the bill, we had been charged extra for the ribs that were supposed to have been A replacement for the quarter chicken that was missing, when we queried this she said no that we had ordered the whole rack of ribs but we had not! by this time we were so annoyed and upset. We did not even stay for desert as we had a long way to get home so all in all we will not be returning to Harvester any time soon.

Food was awful. Overcooked, cold and the garlic bread was like trying to eat leather. Worst takeaway I've eaten. Really disappointed especially considering the cost.

Visited for a lunch with family and friends. Had great service from Lesley, very friendly and helpful. Was an issue with the ladies toilet that was reported to a member of staff but wasn't addressed in the time we were there. General cleanliness wasn't great and we had to swap glasses. Food was generally good, kids loved the make your own sundae! Salad bar also very good, curried beans are lovely.

It's a typical Harvester. Th salad bar is excellent, the main meals are good. Just! Our food came out luke warm and looked uninspiring .

The food was very good despite waiting 50 minutes for the food to be delivered. The weiter told us that 50 minutes' wait is normal for the type or service. Perhaps provide a bigger salad pot so it will take 30 minutes to consume the salad. Good to know for the future so we can avoid it if we are in a rush.

The place was very very understaffed and so waitress taking ages to take orders and taking a very long time for simple meals to be served. Food itself was fine for the money but the slow service due to not enough staff let it down.

It was my first time in Kent and Lucy made me want come back. She gave incredible service and made our day that much better.

Order took 3 hours to arrive! It’s has now arrived stone cold and is completely inedible. When I called harvester they said the food was ready and they were waiting for a driver and when the driver delivered he said they had drivers the food wasn’t ready at the restaurant. All in all a shambles and will never order takeaway from here ever again

Very good service from Harlan, he was very friendly. On a separate note, the salt pots all need sorting out. Tried 3 different salt pots and they are all clumped together and don’t come out. Also the toilets were not very clean. Other than that a nice meal.

We were served by Teresa, she was absolutely lovely, very attentive and made our experience here so much better.

We booked on a busy Saturday night for 8:30pm but arrived early and able to be seated. There is a garden to the rear of the restaurant. Small toilets and hand dryer was broken. The decor was a bit shabby. The staff were very friendly. The food was reasonably priced, well stocked salad cart. Good food served hot we had two adult meals and two children meals. Drinks and dessert and came to £83 - good value. The children's chicken meal was a bit dry. Desserts were brilliant. Parking at the restaurant is an issue.

Food was lovely and even though it was busy we had a fantastic service from Diane, she was always cheery no matter how busy she was.

Chicken cold and luke warm in middle - 2nd attempt of chicken - greased up thigh that was red and luke warm - if you want value for money with decent chicken then go to Nandos - don't waste your money at Harvester if you just want chick and chips - personally I didn't fancy getting food poisioning!

Thank you to Josh our server. We enjoyed the food and had fantastic service throughout our meal. He was quick, attentive and helpful especially as we were dining with a baby and needed a high chair.

Very pleasant experience at the running horse harvester this evening (some of our other experiences not so pleasant with staff members). Served by Harlan who was very friendly, polite and helpful from the start. Checked in with us to make sure we had everything and was happy. Hopefully next time we come he will be our server (:

Need more staff. We went on a Thursday at 5pm. Went to salad bar asked for bowls told just coming then told they would be 5 mins as just gone into dishwasher. GOT THE DISH then waited for some bits to go in it. So the meal came out and we had only just sat for our salad. The meal was very good and hot.

Many thanks to our server, Victoria - she made us feel very welcome. I had the chicken flat bread, very tasty & my nephew, the chicken stack, also very good. I can't believe the salad bar is still going, a real blast from my childhood and the honey & mustard dressing still every bit as good as I remembered. The reason I only gave it 3*'s for the atmosphere is a reflection on the decor. It is in need of a refurbishment inside with the chairs cracked and the tables chipped. However, for value for money - a lovely place to go.

Busy restaurant slow service very noisy

The service, albeit friendly, was very slow. The food was very bland and tasteless (I know it is only the Harvester). The salad bar was nearly empty.

Great selection on salad bar, staff really friendly and helpful, couldn’t ask for more Only problem is the car park and crossing the busy road, a zebra or pelican crossing needs to be installed as it is a fast road and a lot of children go to your establishment
