We came here for some food on a Saturday and the atmosphere and service was amazing. The staff were all so polite and the setting and surroundings were lovely in Boxley. The food was exceptional and delicious and we will definitely be returning as it is was an amazing traditional pub! Thank you ☺️.

Went to The King's Arms today for a roast dinner.... it was hands down the best roast I've had in a pub, possibly ever! Firstly, the pub is dog friendly, 🐕 which is a must for me. I was greeted in the carpark by a lovely chap who helped find me a parking space, then took me to our table. I had roast beef.... everything (and I mean everything) on the plate was cooked perfectly! Crunchy yet fluffy potatoes, everything seasoned well, all veg had a slight crunch to them... spot on! I had the crumble and ice cream for dessert... also beautiful. Service was great, lovely wine. Five stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me!

Don’t listen to anyone else… just go there and try it. You will not be disappointed. This is a proper pub full of locals … Staff properly invested in your experience and the food is …. well you go and find out don’t listen to me … It’s great

Fabulous meal Great service Very friendly I had amazing special of Malaysian Beef curry, lots of beef, so tender and great taste. My husband ham, egg and chips Both meals were lovely and will definitely return, especially when the beef curry is on the menu again!

The owner came out to assist with finding parking, which was much appreciated. The atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant was full, service was friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend.

Sunday roasts were some of the best I've had at a restaurant. Excellent food and service. Priced well. Superb gluten free options as well.

We drove past this pub and added it to our must visit, and we are glad we did! Food is always delicious, owners and bar staff are always lovely and the pub is a beautiful setting! Gluten free options also available which is brilliant as our daughter is coeliac! Definitely worth a visit!

Such a lovely place to go to. I went here for dinner on the Friday and Saturday with family whom I was visiting. It was our first time, and we had been recommended by a local bnb. Wasn't disappointed, the food was so delicious. The duck was a definite winner. The service was lovely for most parts, with waiters being very friendly (thank you so much) their a credit to the restaurant. I returned on Sunday for some Sunday dinner with myself and my daughter, and the food was again delicious. The waitress was lovely and so friendly. Made us feel so comfortable considering we were not locals. However, the bar man was rude and obnoxious. I had been waiting for my daughter to come back from the toilet (before I paid my bill) which I had previously done at the table but for some reason this wasn't possible this time. As I waited, the bar man made a snidey comment about the bill not being paid to a customer sat drinking who he had been talking to the whole time I'd been standing there awkwardly. Rather then speaking to me directly I found the bar man to be very unprofessional (4th August). Otherwise, I enjoyed the food and also meeting the owner or manager on Saturday who greeted us so nicely. We will most certainly visit again to try some more of the lovely menu.

I don’t normally feel strongly enough about anywhere to leave a review. However it was the attempt at deceit that appalled me. I ordered bruchetta with smoked salmon and avocado. A piece of untoasted, unoiled white bread arrived covered in smoked salmon. On cutting into it therr was no advocado but cucumber in its stead!!! Nothing had been said to me before it was delivered about the substitution!!! My friend ordered haloumi salad with advocado. Hers came without any advocado. When it was delivered she queried it and they offered to give her another piece of haloumi!! The prices for a not particularly posh pub are extortionate! Not worth the money. We threatened to go elsewhere but were offered thinly sliced unripe advocado so we gave it a go, No proper chef would have considered serving it as you couldn’t get your teeth into it!!!

What a nice pub, good interior, large gardens, fantastic food and attentive service. What more can you ask for at a very fair price. The salmon main course was a big hit with two of our group, fish and chips was large and tasty, the minty lamb pie was exceptionally good. Highly recommend this pub and you can book online.

After spilling the entire contents of a hot coffee all over my husband, table and chair, including his phone and wallet that were on the table, he got asked do you want another one?! I dried off the phone, wallet and checked he wasn’t scalded whilst they mopped up. At least the female server had the decency to ask if he was ok! But no real apology received. His shorts and shirt were splattered with coffee and he dried off his legs and arms with napkins from neighbouring tables. We got the bill in entirety so I questioned this and received a rather sarcastic response in ‘well we can take the coffee off the bill if you want ‘. Whereas I didn’t expect a free meal as we had eaten and enjoyed our food I expected an acknowledgement of the fact we were leaving with coffee stained clothing and our evening had come to a disappointing and abrupt end. We have frequented the Kings Arms on numerous occasions as a couple and as a family and consider ourselves to be good customers we have spent a fair bit of money there and have always enjoyed our experiences to the point we were planning my husband’s 70th birthday meal there. I have to say though the complete lack of customer care tonight has made me rethink returning there any time soon.

This is a really cute little country pub, really friendly service, friendly lovely staff and descent tasting beer. The food was OK, however, the bill came to £165 pounds which is mental for two people for soup a burger and cheesecake!!! My partner was drinking double vodka and tonics which came in at almost fourteen pounds, £3.60 for tonic water is ridiculous and it wasn't even a high end vodka just smirnoff! I would recommend the pub to people but I will also be for warning people to sell a kidney or re mortgage the house before going 😅

Went there last Sunday for the first time. Food was absolutely amazing. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Fantastic atmosphere. Really lovely place. Totally recommend. Already decided to go back next month for my birthday meal 🙂

This was recommended by our Airbnb host. Went there for our anniversary meal. The food was fabulous, you definitely need to book a table in advance. Some good beers on offer as well. A lovely little country pub.

This pub is such a little gem. The food and the staff are excellent. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. I was always put off here by lack of parking, but their customers can now use additional parking in the osteopath school. It's all sign posted. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing food and service. My husband and I went out for our anniversary meal and we decided to come back here. For some reason we just kept passing it for years and hadn't been back, but we're so glad we did as we've been missing out on one of the best local restaurants!! We went on a Saturday night and there were some large groups in so it was busy, but that made for a great atmosphere. We sat at the bar with some drinks first and from the moment on the service was great. I ordered a white wine and didn't know which I would rather between Chilli or South African so the bar maid gave me a taste of both which I really appreciated. When it came to the menu, I could have eaten everything! Such good choices. And when the food came out it was all so tasty and great portions sizes. All the staff work together as an amazing team and the service just flows so well even with larger groups in. We will definitely be back!

Dropped in for Sunday lunch with a crowd, food was very good and staff were really pleasant, also has a good sized garden. Not much space inside for drinking at the bar, or seating for drinking if it's busy for food. But loads of room outside if it's nice out.

It can be a very busy place to come for lunch, the service is always good and the food is consistent. You can buy a ribeye with chips, prawns and peppercorn sauce for £28 (Bit of a bargain if you ask me). My current favourite is the Lemon and thyme chicken linguini (you would think it would be overpowering but is quite subtle). The wine list could do with a few more choices, although the pinot noir and the Sancerre are both descent. The cocktails are delicious, I am also a big fan of the Gins (of which there are many to choose from). When coming, ask for the round table in the corner which is next to the window (with views of the church across the road).

Went for Sunday lunch which was very tasty! Easily the best in the area. Service was quick and polite. Nice view of the garden. Got there early so could park. Obviously very busy as several attempts were made to swipe our dessert when we were still eating! That was the only issue. Tip keep a hold of your spoon! Waitresses please note that it's annoying, customers will call for the bill when finished! Despite this we will return.

Walking the Pilgrims Way and popped in to get a snack and a stamp for our pilgrims passport. Both staff were so friendly and polite, really are an asset to the business. Tasty food that was served nice and quickly. If I was a local I would definitely become a regular customer.

Great for gluten free dining. They have gluten free menu. Great quality of food. Customer service is at the top. Prices are reasonable and they have great drinks to choose from. It is children friendly with a little playground in the back garden. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. They open at 12 every day.

Highly recommend the roast dinners! The beef short rib is phenomenal!

Fab food & fab service ! My hubby took me for my birthday and the pub had lots ( not all ) tables filled which on a Monday night straight after mothers day was surprising, but shows that this is a good place to eat ! Service was friendly and spot on and the food superb!! They had specials and also a couple of additions. We usually have two courses but after being told they do a lemon sherbet cheesecake I couldn’t say no .. hubby went with the jam Roly poly .. the cheesecake was sublime and well worth the food coma 😃

Gluten free menu. Marked diwn by one star as i was served a regilar main meal , not the gluten free one I had ordered. It was quickly rectified, but the GF meals are not flagged to prevent this happening. Otherwise lovely tasty food, well cooked and presented.

You had me at hand cut chips. How many places these days actually have a chef capable of cutting up potatoes and frying them to perfection? Couple this with no sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownie on the dessert menu and it’s a definite thumbs up for me. The service was superb as was the fish and chips. Don’t order a side of bread and butter unless you’re really hungry. Unfortunately, because of this, I didn’t have room to try the jam roly poly. We are fairly local so will be returning on a regular basis. Highly recommended

Booked this on a recommendation and was not disappointed. We both had a roast - beef. The meat was all really well cooked and plenty of it. All the veg tasted good loads of Gravy. Couldn’t fault it really. One of the nicest Sunday roasts I have had in a long time. Price point was in line with most local pubs and the service was friendly. The pub was very busy which is to be expected. Would recommend to others and I am sure we will be back for another Sunday lunch in the near future.

Lovely pub in a picturesque rural area, with a wonderful log fire & a glorious garden (for the less wet months!) The food was outstanding; all 3 of us agreed that the French Onion Soup special was the best we’ve had outside of Montmartre in Paris; my sea bass was delicious & the liver & onions a rare treat for my offal loving husband. Booked this for a birthday family lunch had driven past many times and thought what a cute pub with a beautiful church opposite. It’s way more than that the service is impeccable the food is exquisite! 5* does not do this place and everyone working there justice everyone was amazing I’ve never known such friendly customer service in such beautiful quaint setting! Absolute gem! We will now be regulars! They catered for everything and everyone and accommodated last minute time change on a very busy day. Staff were rushed off their feet but not once were they ever not attentive the manger in there and is clearly running a fantastic team by being a shining example never known anything like it! We had a Sunday lunch for my daughter’s birthday. We had 6 adults & 2 children. The food is gorgeous, hot and delicious, very good portion sizes too. The service is excellent, nothing was too much trouble even when my grandchildren asked for a bowl of custard for dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed but busy. It is clearly a popular place to eat and socialise and it is very easy to see why.

I cannot praise the Kings Arms more highly. We had a memorial for my mum and all the staff were excellent. From helping with the parking to customising the menu, the experience couldn’t be have been improved. The manager was everywhere (on his day off) and he dealt with the whole event with sensitivity, kindness and efficiency. A wonderful pub and restaurant.

My wife and I went for a three course meal at The King Arms and every course was so nice. The pub’s food, service and staff were first class. We’re looking forward to going back again soon.

Great Atmosphere, nice old building with character, nice open Inglenook fireplace, always with a fire burning in winter. Superb range of beers and wines, fantastic food, great menu but not cheap, wonderful Sunday Roasts. Very popular at weekends. Very friendly owner and staff, highly recommended. Get there early, limited parking at busy times but does offer a shuttle taxi.

Went their for a wedding reception on Saturday 19th Sept Saw some delicious food coming from the kitchen (and will book a table when I can) Good ale and wife liked the Gin especially Doubles waitress nothing but praise Good smile and service Atmosphere inside and outside pub in garden fantastic 👌

Stopped for a drink and some loaded chips with my wife and two of our kids. Service was really really good, the girls serving were all efficient and friendly. We sat in the garden which was well kept and pleasant. The food was really nice although not a meal the chips were substantial with one with bacon and cheese topping and the other beef gravy and mozzarella. Quite expensive overall, but would definitely return.

Best roast dinner!! I had roast beef and the pigs in blankets are a must addition. Our first visit since my sons Coeliac diagnosis, Ella was so wonderfully patient and attentive, checking for me and generally as a big table, being a fantastic server and where normally i feel anxious and like im a nuisance in checking the diet, she was so warm and friendly, thank you!!We love the management and all the staff, so welcome and cosy inside and great for the kids to play in large outdoor area.

This pub/restaurant was on a recommended list in the Air BnB we were staying in in Maidstone. We went for lunch one day and so enjoyed the excellent cooking we booked to go again and once more experienced first class cooking. The serving staff were also really good and friendly. If we’re in the area again in the future, we’d make point of returning.

It was a spur of the moment visit and was absolutely lovely we ate in the garden service was A1 food plentiful and was very quick from ordering it i would definitely go again

So very disappointed in our evening meals here. The extravagant menu did not live upto expectations. Food had either been poorly cooked/ruined or simply reheated. For the price paid it was very poor. Different starters, mains and puddings were ordered on our table. The only meal that was well cooked was the fish and chip plate. The pub/restaurant would do well to think of going back to a simple and basic menu - such as fish and chip or curry nights.

It was one of those gorgeous evenings when everything goes right! They never let their standards slip My dish (photo) is Cameron’s Sea Bass Fillet with lovely mash, samphire and an unctuous Lobster bisque sauce. Full marks again to Cameron (Top Chef) and the kitchen for turning out cover after cover of consistently great dishes Owner Graham M and his Partner Sandy understand Quality and this plus a great work ethic and in my view this goes a long way to motivate the whole team A ‘shout out’ too for all the younger lasses who make this place such a pleasant place to be. The best pub I have ever been to, the staff couldn’t be nicer and it is dog friendly. The food is exquisite and has obviously had a lot of effort put into it. It had nice portions of food and the toilets are great for accessibility. Five stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sunday dinner at the Kings Arms. I have to say it just OK. It didn't have that just cooked look, more like just warmed up look. The potatoes and Yorkshire pud was on the chewy side I would have preferred the gravey to have come separately, as there was far too much on the plate which is OK for those who like a lot of gravey.
