The Rufford in Mansfield

First time here for a carvery and it didn't disappoint. Meats were cooked to perfection for me, roasties tasted amazing. Very reasonable priced for a Sunday carvery. Customer service was great especially on the carvery. Will be returning soon

Good place for family get togethers

We often visit with our family. Lovely staff and great food. Chef anton is lovely and always polite and funny when serving our carvery. The team always take the time to talk to my children, which is really nice. We love the atmosphere and the staff at the rufford. The play area is great when the sun is out. Will always recommend it.

It was almost empty on nice Sunday afternoon that was the first red flag second this place stinks food was not fresh and some of it was cold salads definitely not fresh spice burger without flavour Mac and cheese ordered for my hungry kids left after one bite horrible food do not recommend

We had a lovely meal for my brother’s 30th birthday on Saturday 13th April 2024. The atmosphere and food was lovely and the staff were nice and welcoming. Molly gave us lovely service for the afternoon, she was very polite, smiley and welcoming. We highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!

Great food and service. Staff are brilliant. Garden is great for kids to play in. Ordering on the app is easy to do and means we can stay watcing the kids play outside.

Family friendly pub, we always enjoy a visit to the Rufford. The staff are brilliant. Nothing is to much trouble for them. The app means we don't have to leave our seats and the park is great for the kids. Food is always hot and tasty. We always recommend to friends.

Visited again for lunch, Courtney was lovely as always. Food was hot and served quickly. Tasted lovely to. The order at the table is great as don't need to leave our seats. The garden looks nice with the additional flowers around the posts.

We actually went for a wake so we were in a room at the side all nice and quiet Was very clean and staff were lovely to us and the food they laid on was lovely fresh with plenty of selection

Friendly staff, value for money

The Rufford is a very safe and friendly environment. It has everything for everyone. Some area you can sit with your older parents where its quiet and other areas you can sit with your mates and have a laugh. It does need some renovating to bring it up to 2024 but it's a pub i feel safe in as a trans person

Honestly can not fault the pub at all! The service was superb as always. We chose to order by the app at the table and the food and drink came out on time and warm. The lady came round at the end of the night and asked if we were wanting any more as last orders were about to be called and she wanted to make sure we'd had enough. Well done team rufford me and my work colleagues will be back soon.

We visited for food and drink. We have been before when we visit friends. The staff were very welcoming. Told us how to order at the bar and how to use the app as well. The service at the bar was quick. The food was severed quickly and looked great, tasted amazing definitely recommend the ultimate chicken burger. The place was overly busy but it had a lovely friendly atmosphere everyone who was in seemed to be enjoying themselves. They have a nice big garden and kids play area to. They are also dog friendly.We will be back soon, and will be bringing our friends. Thank you for a lovely visit we will definitely recommend to friends and family

I come most Mondays for the MUGS ukulele group. It's a lovely big pub with plenty of good food and drink to choose from. It's friendly to well behaved dogs. The friendly staff are all lovely. Definitely recommend

I have kindly been allowed use of the function room at the Rufford for burlesque chair dance fitness class. It is a lovely function room and although my numbers are small at the moment I expect them to pick up over the next few months once ladies are aware more of the classes. The staff at the Rufford are kind and helpful always welcoming. Love that ladies attending my class do not have to go through the pub they can utilise side door straight upstairs. Less daunting for them. I do have to pay for two hours although utilising one but this is hopefully not going to be a problem in the New Year as I plan the second hour can be used for a splits and flex it class. Thoroughly enjoy the venue and hope this can be our class home we have even got a new Burkesque troupe name now called the Rufford Rebels xx

I think it is such a shame that this once very busy pub/dinner has fallen from grace and consequently disrepair. The food and service are very good. Sadly the surroundings are not. Our chairs had stained cushions to sit on and I wondered why they were like this. Does no one notice? Or do they see this and don't care? One wonders what came first. Insofar as its fall to this state.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Courtney & Molly, I run a monthly business event in the function room upstairs and nothing is ever too much trouble for them, they always have a smile for their customers and are so welcoming.

Anna and the team couldn’t do enough to cater for us for a 16th birthday meal. Majority of the party had a carvery and their carvery definitely gives Tobys a run for its money! For the variety of choice and the quality, it was definitely a bargain especially where there is other places that charge a few pounds more with less variety. Nothing was ever any trouble for the staff, they were more than happy to allow us to decorate the room and they are always so helpful to cater to those with specific requirements. For instance, my Auntie is celiac and staff was knowledgable in offering gluten free options. Thank you Rufford Team :)

Booked for my sisters birthday for 13 people...they kindly asked if we could preorder which we did....we only waited about 20 odd mins and we were all served together. Food was lovely and plentiful. Will defo be back. Thankyou for an enjoyable experience xx

The environment needs to updating, and the pub was particularly cold upon our visit. However, the quality of the food that arrived was good. Well prepared and presented. Improvements to warmth would increase overall experience

I have only been to the rufford twice and both times have been disappointed. Booked a table on Sunday for my grandmas birthday which wasn’t done for us when we arrived however it didn’t really matter as it was pretty much empty, booked here as a last resort as every other carvery place was fully booked and I can see why the rufford wasn’t booked up like elsewhere, carvery stops at 4pm which is what we came for and we didn’t know our table was booked for 5pm, didn’t advertise no where that it stopped at 4pm, so much stuff was out of stock. Was a 40 min wait on food as only one chef on and food wasnt the best. Definitely will never be returning which is ashame as it is only round the corner from us. Pub has so much potential to be so much more but I can see why it is so quiet

Really good food, fantastic service, the bar staff are so lovely and we won the raffle to get one of our meals reimbursed, what's not to like? Lovely atmosphere, staff can't do enough for you. We'll definitely always go here for our after work meet ups 😊

About 12 of us went for lunch today. Food was great and quick to arrive to our table. The carvery was very nice and filling. Can't fault the staff and prices. Not been to the rufford for about 6 years and I must admit it's in need of some TLC. But overall a nice experience.

Came in for dinner with my daughter. I had the mixed grill and it was delicious. Food came quickly and was hot and well presented. Daughter had the chicken burger it looked great. Staff were brilliant. Always love visiting the rufford.

We visited for a meal to meet up with family to exchange presents. The venue is very big so we could find a nice quiet area. It has great wheelchair access and it is dog friendly. The pub look great decorated for xmas. The food came quickly and tasted lovely. The staff were very nice and helpful. They also take blue light card whuch was an added bonus. Came for Christmas Dinner and really enjoyed it.. the starters, mains and desserts were all lovely.. we were a party of 4 and I brought my elderly mother who is nearly blind, I requested a certain table when I booked as she likes to sit near a window and they managed to sit us exactly where I wanted we will definitely book again next year.. We returned after lasts year breakfast with santa and this year was not good. There was no Christmas atmosphere for the kids. No jingles, songs, tinsel. No interaction. Bar crackers and some colouring paper. The breakfast this year was not buffet style and we didn't know. So when it came out plated this was worrying ad we had a child with an egg allergy and was not asked. The beans were in a sauce pot, tiny and cold. It wad obvious the food was plated and sat under a hot plate. The santa was good, but it lacked any fun or excitement for the kids. Won't be returning nezt year which is sad

Virtually empty. Came here a while ago and thought we would try it again to kill an hour and to see if there was any improvement on our last visit. Sadly not. Food portions for both meals were really small, probably liken to a kids menu, was cooked ok though. Could do with a good clean as the tables were really sticky and dirty. I opened a couple of menus to use as a place mat so my sleeves didn't sticking to the table.

Booked a table for 11 people to celebrate my 30th birthday and everything was brilliant. We was placed in a separate room so it was nice and quiet for everyone to chat and celebrate. All the food was cooked fast and to perfection. All the order was correct as we had emailed it over beforehand. Then they made our night special by bringing out a birthday cake (which was brought in by a family member) and sang Happy Birthday with us. An all round lovely evening and planning to come back in the new year to celebrate another 30th birthday. Thank you so much The Rufford ❤️

Visited for a friend's birthday. Great service from Mitch and Molly. They have a bottle offer on 3 bulmers ciders for £10 We also made the most of ordering on the app and had all our food and drink brought to our table. Food was really tasty thank you. Mozzarella bites were amazing. We will definitely be visiting again. The festive food that was coking out looked great.

Had dinner with my family. The food was tasty and temperature was perfect. The kids enjoyed the play area. Staff are lovely as always. We love coming to visit this pub. So we booked our family function upstairs. Courtney showed us around spoke to us about the gow the evening would go. They booked us the Dj, Terry he was brilliant. Kenzie was upstairs serving us all night. She was great nothing was too much trouble for her, they had asked what preference we had on drinks so they could make sure they were upstairs ready for us. Anything they didn't have they nip and got us. The food we ordered for 40 of us. Looked amazing, every one was happy with it. Plenty for everyone. They were happy to keep our stuff overnight so we didn't have to carry it all home. We popped back the next day to collect it all no issues. They had collected all together for us so it was easy to collect. Highly recommend. From start to finish brilliant.

Well where do I start? You book a party here and it's like the yes parade... anything you ask for or ask if you can do its yes yes yes.. so you book.. spend ALOT OF MONEY to arrive on the day to feel an inconvenience, be told downstairs is a priority over certain drinks you've requested upstairs (shots and spirits... you know easy things to grab..) and everyone can go downstairs if they want them...why would they do that when we've paid for upstairs?? We was told we could use the fire exit for smokers.. To be told no on the night. "The manager changed her mind" We was told we could have certain spirits behind the bar, she even made a list... To be told "no downstairs is a priority go down there if you want it.." We was told bar would be open until 11.30pm.. even our receipt on our booking said until midnight to be waved a phone in my face at 11.17 and be told I should be lucky they're serving as its supposed to stop at 11.. and when I disputed it due to guests booking taxis to be told he would honour it.. We was told to order for the amount of people who attended.. we decided against (ordered around 25 less people) that as I've previously worked in a pub and there's always too much food (was right) and thank goodness we didn't because the nightmare to take our food we'd paid for home was LAUGHABLE. We was told to order for the room amount BUT if anything was leftover they would wrap it for us.. Well how laughable. Came to that point we asked for something to wrap the food to be told they had nothing...we've ran out of foil.. but we couldn't take the foil trays the food was on and return them when we came to collect our belongings the next day because they needed to re-use them .(honestly think they expected us to pile them in our clothes..) yes re-use the trays that are 3 for 79p in home bargains after spending over 300£ in food.. and offering to return them in the morning with a sacrifice of our deposit.. For then the "manager" to scream at my 12 year old for walking away with a bowl of crisps.. Disgusting behaviour.. completly run by clowns. The girl who showed us round should be manager! She knows how to make the customer feel wanted and important and was the ONLY person who didn't disappoint from the moment we booked and even on the night she tried SO hard to make it special for us when the rest was just making us want to go home.. think her name was Courtney. So Courtney thank you. But other than that we couldn't of felt more of an inconvenience Oh and then as promised after multiple arguments over taking the precious trays to take OUR food home.. we returned the trays and bowl as promised. To then be told we wasn't allowed our deposit because we'd broken a door frame... (a piece of wood holding the door together) and they knew it was us because of the cctv.. but didn't know who ... for my partner to say well no I walked past it when we set up and it fell so I moved it to the side.. you'd know that if you'd checked the cctv.. and the guy didn't know what to say.. so obviously lied.. think it was just something they'd created because we didn't leave without our food we'd paid for but they couldn't say that could they and wanted to be spiteful and take our deposit, despite all the money they'd already had, and would of had more if they'd listened to our bar drink requests.. Anyways.. don't let this RIP OFF JOKE OF A PUB expect you to put up with their cra* and pay for their refurbishment.. we went to the brewery by the way and got our deposit back! Absolutely disgusting to ruin our special night.. Our engagement by the way so yeah thanks for that.. Seems like they want the bookings but don't want to ensure it's ACTUALLY special for somebodies occasion. Won't be back. Would not advise ANYONE to book a special occasion here.

It was fantastic from start to finish , it was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a glass of bubbly sent to our room it just started it off lovely think it was Sue who arranged it, all staff were really nice

We attended our 9yr old Sons Football presentation in the function room upstairs. It came with Full Buffet etc, Disco etc. The Disco was OK, but the Buffet was Very Very Poor. There was virtually nothing left once each individual had visited the table once. There was NO TOP UP provided it was all SHAMEFUL.

Eat here a lot and every-time it’s been a pleasure no matter what staff are on they are lovely and polite and can’t do enough for you. The food is amazing the chefs do really well even when it’s busy to get food out it a good amount of time!

I’ve lived in the area for 12 years and have never been to The Rufford, I have no idea why. I’ll definitely be back. Our kids often go there with their grandparents and keep telling me how good it is. We went today for a family meal and it was great. The place is nicely decorated, bright and feels cozy and welcoming. The staff were all friendly and likeable. I had gammon and it’s *exactly* how pub gammon should be. The kids both had chicken tikka masala, I had a little taste of that and it’s really good, and you get loads. Everything arrived piping hot too. On top of all that, it’s all really excellent value. Great food at a great price. We’ll be back
