We had a lovely lunch with friends here today. Table service very good and all staff that attended to us were excellent. Not the cheapest meal but good value. We enjoyed steak as well as other mains. We all enjoyed our puddings. Excellent red wine and we thought the gardens looked great for a good weather day.

We received a warm welcome to this spotlessly clean and well kept pub with a lovely beer garden and good range of food. The staff are fantastic, helpful and cannot do enough for you, including bring out a ball and bucket for 18 month old to play with (rather than paddle in the dog bowls of water!). The food was delicious and, particularly appreciated there was a vegan option - a delicious smoky bean chilli. Great children’s menu too. Unless you need Gordano services facilities in particular, drive 5 mins down the road past the services (take the turning off the roundabout after the services) and enjoy a much more restorative stop off. Something to suit everyone on the menu, the garden is great for children to run around and there are plenty of high hairs for the younger ones.

Visited this resturant to meet family and i would really recommend to anyone. Hreat welcome from staff and the food was amazing! I will certainly come back when im in the area.

Six of us went for an evening meal at the Rudgeleigh. It wasn’t massively busy but it was mid week and still had a good atmosphere. We were met and seated where we all ordered different meals. Unusually, every single one of us enjoyed the food. Well presented and really tasty! We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill. Would definitely recommend and it’s handy for the M5 too.

Really disappointed with quality of food, veg overcooked. After reading reviews online thought the meal was going to be special wouldn't recommend. Also very cold inside venue had to put coats on.

From the moment you walk in you are made to feel at ease , it’s ran well , very organised and friendly staff , incredible carvery roast ,home made vegetarian vegan options which were very good , we will be back again ,they really couldn’t do enough.

The service was friendly and the place clean and warm, the food however was not quite up to scratch. We had the carvery and while the meat was alright (the crackling was nicely crunchy too), the vegetables were not so good. The potatoes seemed to be deep-fried (the skin was dark and crispy but full of oil), the broccoli was a mix of overcooked (mushy) and undercooked (rock solid) pieces and the cabbage was very watery. For the price I would have expected better quality and I hope it will improve in future.

Very impressed with the large selection of gluten free choices (for a change), I usually struggle! It was heaven as I was able to have gluten free starter, mains and dessert - really brilliant. Thank you - the food was yummy and my other guests had a lovely chilli. We will definitely be back- excellent family run and friendly place to have lovely food - well worth a trip.

Lunch with mum. A great bar but the owner seemed highly stressed out with the 15 customers at that time. But the bar man redeemed her behaviour. Really nice food but seriously overpriced. £ 28 a sirloin steak isn't affordable sadly. Maybe we will return at a more hectic time to see the place in full flow.

What a find ! A seemingly relentless 5 hour journey home with elderly parents. Wanted to give them something to eat rather than motorway caff durge. Spotted this on here, booked on my phone and rocked up. What a gem! Food lush, good portions staff lovely and nice surroundings. Will definately be using this place whenever around Bristol way!!

Fabulous meal with friends. The food was GREAT. The full rack of ribs were fantastic as was My Hunters chicken. I asked for a full salad instead of chips and I certainly was not disappointed. The service spot on. Will 100% be back soon

Amazing selection of gluten free meals. Really kind and helpful staff. We all loved it and can't move after our wonderdul puddings!! Will certainly be hack!!

God I love this place, not being able to pop in for sunday dinner during lockdown has been a true low point. The Rudge feels different post-covid, the team have worked so hard to keep their customers safe and less tables gives an airier feel, I can also imagine how frustrating it must be during such difficult times to have to limit your customers and teach them how to follow the safety guidelines (come on people it's our responsibility, how difficult is it to register your address and stay where you're put?!) As for my dinner, no more walk up carvery, damn you covid, but plated sunday roast was everything I could wish for if I'd served it myself, lovely dessert too...who ever thought of putting jam rolypoly on the menu deserves a medal. Would deffo recommend and return.

Desafortunadamente, la calidad de la comida era muy mala, obviamente era 'congelador / freidora / plato', nada especial ni sabroso, y el olor penetrante del aceite de freír sucio en el aire no hizo nada para mejorar nuestra experiencia. Incluso con el 50% de descuento, no tenía ninguna relación calidad-precio. Hubiéramos disfrutado más una visita al chippy local. Deffo no recomendará ni devolverá: (

Carvery asiduos aquí. 12 para 2 rebanadas de carne estándar. O 13 por 3 rebanadas.Tienen una selección de carne de cerdo, pavo, ternera y gammon. Tenga todos los adornos habituales ilimitados de Yorkshire, chirivía asada, relleno, queso cauli, sueco, habas, habichuelas verdes y zanahorias. La verdura está un poco hecha pero nos gusta así. Nunca tenga espacio para el postre. Tenía la carne que estaba bien preparada, rosa en el medio. El personal es amigable.

El primer signo ominoso fue que pudimos reservar una mesa con unas pocas horas de aviso un sábado por la noche. Al llegar, la habitación estaba casi vacía y no tenía ningún ambiente, con una luz intensa, parecía una cantimplora. Pequeños cambios como una planta aquí y allá, un pequeño jarrón de flores en las mesas, velas o luces de té marcarían una gran diferencia. Listado como un asador, esperábamos una buena selección de cortes de carne, solo para encontrar una opción de tres. Nuestro local Weatherspoons tiene más que esto. El servicio era amable pero la comida en sí era claramente normal. Una verdadera decepción. Comparado con el excelente Ashville Steakhouse en Bedminster, me temo que Rudgeleigh tiene un largo camino por recorrer para recuperar cualquier reputación que alguna vez tuvo. No volveremos.

Went for Sunday lunch just before Christmas and ate from the carvery. As i am gluten free i need certain adjustments to my diet. At the Rudgleigh this was not a problem in the slightest. All the staff were up to speed on what the issues around GF diet were. I even had freshly made Yorkshire puddings. The food was delicious despite overhearing that on customer felt the meat was not up to standard. I could not agree with this at all, one of the best lunches i have had in years. Great, efficient staff and a very well organised lunchtime. Perfect if you need a GF diet as there were even GF puddings on the menu too! A perfect lunch venue.

We called in after coming home on an early flight from holiday, the staff behind the bar were exceptionally helpful and so cheerful the food arrived which was beautiful my husband had the chilli and rice and I had the scampi, the scampi was the best I have tasted in a long while and I love scampi I would most certainly recommend this restaurant to everybody and spotlessly clean and the decorations in the room were beautiful as well

I was in a group of about 20 people for a social group Christmas lunch. I had the turkey but I was disappointed that there were no usual Christmas trimmings like the essential pigs in blankets. The food was extremely bland, to be honest the vegetables could have been tinned and the gravy was like tasteless water.The staff however were amazing; friendly, helpful and attentive. I would risk going back to try the regular menu just because the staff were so nice.

I usually treat my family members to lunch so it was really nice to be invited by my daughter to join her family at the Sunday carvery. As a vegetarian I intend to avoid carveries but I had the nut roast and the extensive range of vegetables. Food was well cooked and it was presumably good value but as I was being treated I cannot say ;-) Cannot remember the last time I did not have a desert but I was too full.

Nine of us out for a family supper. We were met at the entrance by a friendly, welcoming face and shown our table. The waitress came over right away to take the drink order. Drinks came quickly with a smile. Orders for meals were taken and I am sure we didnt wait half an hour before they started to arrive. The steaks were cooked to perfection, to everyone's liking. Our glasses weren't empty for long before being asked for another drink The service was excellent. The only downfall was the vegetarian food came over cooked and a bit too salty. The Veggies of the family weren't too impressed.

Highly recommend this pub. Steaks are superb and awesome Sunday lunches. Just needs to feel a little more homely rather than cafe style tables ❤️

Visited this restaurant in November two years ago, when we had a delicious carvery, and were looking forward to another great meal. It was encouraging to see several gluten free options among the menu's main courses and desserts. However I chose the two courses for £10.95, starting with the soup and GF roll, followed by the homemade GF pie with an additional side dish of vegetables. The portion of soup was large, tasty and very hot and took some time to get through. The pie that followed was again extremely hot, and the contents in a salty, watery gravy - not thick enough to hold the pie together. The vegetables were generous but too crunchy and could have done with more cooking. Overall, it was a bit disappointing after the previous meal here, when they had excelled themselves.

Paré aquí en el camino a casa desde el aeropuerto, completamente por casualidad, ya que estaba en nuestra ruta. Nos sorprendió gratamente ver que había dos cursos para 10. 95 menú disponible. Ambos tuvimos cóctel de gambas y salchichas de venado. Ambos platos estaban deliciosos. Las salchichas de venado en particular eran increíbles y venían con una deliciosa salsa sabrosa. El servicio fue bueno y rápido y el personal muy amable. Si viviéramos más cerca, haríamos esto de forma regular, ¡pero definitivamente lo haremos de nuevo en el camino a casa desde el aeropuerto!

Visited recently for a Sunday Carvery Lunch. The lunch was nice, but a few things did let it down. They only give you two very small slices of meat. They don’t let you dish up your own parsnips, stuffing etc and they are quite tight with it. You’re allowed as much veg as you like. I believe some of the veg, including roast potatoes were frozen. I’m also pretty sure the Yorkshire Puddings were frozen and they were very tiny!

My partner and I decided to have dinner on Saturday night. The pub was quite quiet which meant we were able to choose our table. Our rib eyes were cooked to perfection and the triple cooked chips, tomato and mushrooms were a lovely accompaniment. My peppercorn sauce was too thin for me with fewer peppercorns than I would have liked. However my desert was truly scrumptious, best raspberry pavlova I've ever tasted with delicious raspberry ice cream running through the middle. We will return.

We called to fortify ourselves on our way to the Balloon Festival so arrived just as they opened for service.

Visitamos este lugar para probar algo de comida y bebida después de un largo día de problemas con el automóvil. El personal fue extremadamente servicial, atractivo y llegó hasta el punto de llamar a sus hijos a jugar con nuestro hijo. JJ (uno de los niños) hizo que el día aburrido de nuestro hijo fuera increíble después de patear el balón de fútbol por un rato en el patio trasero. A Chase le disgustó que olvidara darle su contacto para mantenerse en contacto.

Me detuve aquí el domingo cuando volvía de Bristol con una familia muy hambrienta. Los asados están fuera de este mundo, simplemente impresionante. Mis hijos normalmente son tan quisquillosos y nunca los he visto tan tranquilos mientras comía. Cito "papá, podemos venir aquí todos los días". La elección de la carne está bien, pero pequeñas rebanadas finas! ¡El personal de 2 detrás del mostrador de carnes hoy no tiene NINGUNA habilidad de servicio al cliente, y somos extremadamente groseros! Experiencia completamente basura.

Hemos estado en este excelente establecimiento varias veces en los últimos meses y tengo que decir que ha sido un regalo absoluto. Buena comida y buen servicio. No puedo decir lo suficiente de este restaurante.

First time at The Rudleigh and we could not fault our meals. Carvery was excellent,meat was tender and crackling amazing,good selection of veg, crispy roast potatoes and tasty gravy and you can go up for further veg,a true carvery.We also had a vegetarian option which was excellent too. Staff were very pleasant and attentive even though they were rushed off their feet. Would certainly be go back again!!

Booked for Mothers Day having not been there for a while but very disappointed. Chose standard carvery (2 slices of meat for £12) but had to complain as my meat had large amount of squidgy fat (amounting to almost 1 slice) so given another piece Very off putting on the plate. Staff didn't seem happy and no apology. Roast potatoes pale and appeared fried but gravy tasty. Would not return. Very average indeed

I booked this as I’ve been for a few carveries in the past here and they were excellent. Also according to their website they’ve won a host of awards.

We had a family outing to the to the Rudgliegh for our sons 10th birthday last Friday as my boy is a big steak fan. We were 7 adults and 6 young kids and we all had a great time and meal. There's an offer on Fridays for 2 steaks ( rump or fillet) plus chips and side and 2 glasses house wine for £25. You can also upgrade your steaks to rib eye.The steaks were perfectly cooked - juicy and tender! Service was spot on too. This is a lovely countryside pub and we would reccommend.

I visited here while staying in Bristol with work. It has an excellent restaurant and menu. I went back several times.

There were 6 of us that visited last night, nobody had a starter as there the choice is limited to 4 quite dull options ( soup, pate, mushrooms and scallops) so went straight to mains and everything was cooked perfectly and there was plenty on the plate so we were all happy , so went on for dessert, these were mostly ok, however I found the pastry on the lemon meringue pie to be a little thick but that may just be my particular preference, the service was good but found the drinks options limited (only 2 different gins and 2 whiskys to choose from)

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming and accommodated our needs. I was impressed with the lunch menu as it gave the option for a lighter lunch. The food came quickly and was delicious. This was my first visit and will definitely return again.

what a total waste of money i have never wasted £23.00 on slop than what i did today £11.50 for a sunday roast which was more than what you can buy for a ready meal at a supermarket no wonder pubs are closing if this is whats being served my advice keep your foot on the accelerator and pass by.

I was looking for a lunch stop close to the M5 as we were travelling to Cardiff from Devon. We were welcomed by a friendly and cheerful host and delighted by the wide ranging menu. We chose from the lunchtime special offer and were amazed at both the quality and quantity of food. It appears that children and dogs are welcome and there's an area to sit outside on a nice day. A very good experience and we will return when in the area. A shame we don't live nearby !

In Bristol for the weekend, found this place on Google with it's excellent reviews, phoned to book AMD spoke to a very courteous man on the phone. Arrived, greeted, shown to our table, offered a fantastic range of drinks and the carvery was to die for. An excellent place to eat with lovely, friendly and attentive staff, clean surroundings etc etc, what else does one need? Anybody who skips this place, do so at your peril. 5*

As my Mum’s coeliac she often struggles to find meals that she really wants on a menu and usually has to just settle for what she CAN eat. Luckily for us, the Rudgleigh have a wide range of options and, for once, Mum almost had too much choice!

Now been on our 3rd visit as is a meeting point for seeing family & each time we have not been disappointed. It is no more than a mile off motorway and in easy reach of main routes. Staff are very accommodating helpful and friendly.

I often eat and drink here with my work colleagues and I can honestly say that it never disappoints! Delicious food and the service is always great. The light bite meal options for lunchtime are more than adequate sizes and such reasonable prices.

Comí el domingo aquí dos veces en el pasado y cada vez lo disfrutamos. Siempre ocupado así que mejor reservar. Hay que hacer cola para la carnicería, pero la cola se apaga rápidamente. Mucha variedad y la comida es fresca y caliente. Me encantaría volver en el futuro.

Almorcé tarde un viernes, llamé a las especificaciones y los anfitriones acomodaron a nuestro grupo de Seis (4 adultos y 2 niños). Menú muy completo y precios muy competitivos. La comida era de buena calidad y bien cocinada. Gran lugar y definitivamente estaremos visitando de nuevo. El pub está en la carretera principal de Gordano (J 19 M 5) hacia Bristol. Menos de 5 minutos de la autopista. .

Went here with my brother to try something new. Food here was incredible! Everything was well-spiced and cooked perfectly - really satisfied our taste buds! Will come back soon (maybe this weekend) to try other dishes.

Well, I was not expecting the quality of the T bone steak. A large family gathering and I was not expecting alot to be honest as on these occasions the food is rushed and Luke warm, this was not the case, the food and steak was of a good standard for a reasonable price. Staff polite and have no reservations for recommending this pub to anyone visiting this area.

We walked here, after a walk around parts of Failand National Trust. Sat out in the beer garden as we had our little dog with us. I ordered the steak and because i am on the slimming world plan I asked for my chips to be swapped for boiled potatoes and the onion rings to be swapped for a side salad and the happily accomodated my request. Theg also put my sauxe ib a jug on the side. There is a outside tap and bowls for the dogs to. The food was really good and we will be going back again.

We visited here on a Saturday afternoon after visiting portishead. We had just missed the lunch menu but the kind gentleman behind the bar said if we ordered fairly quickly he would put our order through, however we choose to eat from the main menu as we wanted to have a drink first. There was a good selection on the main menu and we thought it was priced quite reasonable. I had the steak and ribs which was really good and my husband had the tex-mex burger with a side order of a cheese garlic bread. Both meals were good value and the chips were really good! We sat in the garden were there was a slide for the kids. There is a cricket pitch opposite where my husband happily sat watching the game, however there was a few near misses with the cricket ball coming over the fence!!

On entry to the carpark the property looked well kept with a lovely cricket green right next to it.

I recently visited the Rudleigh Inn with a group of six friends, one of which cannot eat gluten, and one (me!) vegetarian. The staff were friendly and efficient and we sat outside in the beer garden which was lovely. They have a great menu with plenty of choice, and most things were gluten free as standard, which pleased my friend.

Came here for an 8 person family meal early on Saturday evening. All orders were taken and delivered without fuss and by friendly staff. Food quality was great and delivered promptly. I hadn't been here for years but will be returning soon.

Visited the Rudgleigh around 6pm on a Tuesday, so very quiet and relaxed. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The menu is mostly steak, grills and salads, priced quite high. My partner ordered the surf and turf, which was fantastic. The steak was of good quality and cooked to perfection. All the accompliments were well cooked and generous. With peppercorn sauce this cost around £25 for the 4oz, you would pay roughly an extra £10 for the 8oz. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering the baked cod with prawns. It promised prosecco and roasted vegetables. I can honestly say I have never eaten a more bland dish in my life. The roasted baby potatoes were cooked well but had no seasoning at all. The fish was baked and served in baking paper which turned into mush and mixed with my fish, making it very difficult to eat. The fish was served with the skin on, which I love, but it was soggy and inedible. The “roasted vine tomatoes” were actually a handful of beef tomatoes chopped up and undercooked, shoved on top of the fish. The prawns were the smallest I have ever encountered and there was no sign of prosecco or any seasoning on the dish at all. For £17 I was very disappointed. I would return and order a steak, but not in a hurry, as I’m not sure it warrants the price tag. It’s a real shame as the owners could not of been more welcoming.

Went here for the Sunday carvery. Food was very good although a little stingy with the meat although the wife seemed to get much more. The big disappointment was the service. It was very poor even to the waitress dropping my sons dessert on him then scooping it off him and presenting it like nothing had happened. We asked for a cloth to clean him and a small napkin was chucked on the table. If the service had been better this could have been a lot better visit. We got the feeling the staff were more interested in watching the football on a iPad then working.

Party of 5 on Father's Day, booking process was fine, and the waitress charming.

We recently visited for a family lunch and enjoyed our meal here. They cater well for vegetarians and vegans, and their carvery is good - including a veggie option which is difficult to find! We found the staff friendly and welcoming and overall service was very good even though it was a very busy day. Some of the carvery was a little over-cooked though - the beef looked very dry (avoided that and went for the pork and gammon which was good) and the veg was a bit over done. Dessert and roast potatoes were amazing though. The staff were really helpful be letting us know when the al a carte food was nearly ready so those getting carvery could queue - very much appreciated. Vegan food (chick pea curry) was very tasty, porterhouse steak was prepared as per request (rare) and portion sizes were very good. Overall an enjoyable lunch with the family.

Eat here 3 or 4 time a year always had a good meal & very attentive service by friendly staff. The steaks are 1st rate.

We stopped off here while travelling down the M5 and it’s not too far from the motorway, a handy and lovely place to visit when breaking up a long journey. Thanks for a lovely gluten free fish and chips. Other gf options were available too. I was too full after the main to try the caramel tart unfortunately. Enjoyed the nice beer garden too with the willow tree. It’s well shielded from the busy road and next to the local cricket ground.

Have been to The Rudgleigh Inn, many times, with both family and friends. It is now a firm favourite. Big Hint all the locals go there - staff are welcoming but professional. Food is piping hot and fresh., and very reasonably priced. :)

Meet here with our Bristol family when we were en-route to Cornwall. Food is delicious, great vegetarian selection and one of the best places we’ve been for Sunday lunch. Much better value for money than the services and really close to the motorway. Will keep going back when we are in the area.

Being a ceoliac is often a downer when eating out, not today I enjoyed the most wonderful gluten free Sunday lunch I have ever had, I advised them on booking and they had gluten free Yorkshire puddings and parsnips ready for me, even the stuffing was gluten free, I've had a midweek lunch as well and they do a really great amount of gluten free meals especially fish and chips, will definitely be going back.

Stopped off here after coming from Bristol Airport, lovely welcome,lovely staff and good food. On our way home to Carmarthen after a holiday in Spain,decided to eat lunch so I didn’t have to cook when we got home.

We only wrote a review for this pub in November where we gave it an excellent review. This time, however, it was really disappointing. We took my son for his birthday and booked for the same time as before (the 4pm sitting). We were sat right by the main door which was very cold and the place was so steamed up it was uncomfortable to relax. The food was very poor (chewy, tough meat, luke warm veg, vile gravy, etc) and the chef serving was rude. When asked what meat we wanted he grunted and swiped our plates away from us. We finished our food and were then ‘hassled’ by SIX members of staff to order puddings which none of us wanted. The whole experience was terrible and we were really let down as it was for a special occasion. We left cold and fed up so went to the Rudleigh in Portbury for desserts and drinks and this pub had a much nicer ambience and the staff didn’t hassle you. Avoid if you can - we won’t be back!

Unassuming former coaching inn on main road between Bristol and Gordano . Went here for a night with a difference . Steak served was excellent and service likewise . We chose the Rudgkeigh Sizzler and a Tex Mex burger , both were excellent . Dining area was clean and airy , waitress was good natured and fun .

Entering the Rudgleigh Arms one is pleasantly surprised by the clean airy decor. Lovely welcome form the staff and a menu that specialises in steaks. There is a small selection of starters, but the two we chose were quite acceptable especially for the price though my chicken liver pate was rather sloppy. All three of us ordered steaks with herb butter sauce. The two small porterhouse steaks were good value for money but my trio of different cuts was not worth the £28 price tag for the following reasons. Cooking steaks on a griddle produces charred lines that may appeal to some but produce meat that is primarily grey with lines. Steaks need a very hot searing irrespective of whether they are to be served rare, medium or, heaven forfend, well done, on the whole surface which produces caramelisation of these surfaces. They should then rest but not allowed to cool. Sadly all three of my small cuts were grey and tepid.

I called into this pub for a Sunday lunch, as was working locally at Portbury, it was my first visit, but I will certainly be back, excellent freshly cooked food with decent sized portions. The staff were very friendly, with a special mention to front of house man John, a real gent.

Had a nice family lunch at this eatery. The lunchtime menu is limited but offers all the pub regulars. Most have a ‘small’ or ‘large’ option which is ideal when eating with the family.

We have just enjoyed a lovely carvery. Service was very good. Friendly atmosphere and I would thoroughly recommend trying a Sunday lunch here. There were 12 of us and we all enjoyed our meals.Love the refurb and will definitely be returning soon.

Although we arrived to eat at 5.00 there was plenty of meat and vegetables still to be had! The meat was succulent and plentiful. The veg were not overcooked and delicious...cauliflower cheese was excellent! It was also great to have a small menu to choose from if you didn't fancy a carvery. As always friendly and welcoming staff.

I popped in here on a Friday for a work lunch with my team and it was ideal for a quick lunch. The pub has been refurbished recently so the decor is all fresh, clean and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's plenty of seating inside and out. It's quite quiet at lunch due to the location as there is no passing trade so you have to go there intentionally, which was perfect for us. They have a lunch time menu and their normal menu available and the food is reasonably priced, food portions and freshly made. They also have a good kids menu so I'd recommend it as a good place for families as well!

After travelling we decided on the spur of the moment to pop in here . It was Sunday afternoon.It was not too busy and we were greeted by a friendly young waitress. Shown to a table , givenA menu to check out and ordered drinks.My husband chose the ham,egg & chips. While opted for butternut,aubergine ,pepper & cheese tartlet.Order came nicely presented. My husband liked the flavour of the Ham & fresh eggs.But for me the tartlet were very hard and difficult to cut. The centre of butternut etc was ok but very small!Unfortunately this spoilt the meal for me. When a waitress collect our plates, I did mention this to her.Her reply was, they might have use gluten free pastry cases.On paying our bill at the bar, I was asked if I had enjoyed my meal. Being honest I said I had not... she asked if there was anything they could do for me. I replied, thank you no, she was very friendly. Then the same waitress , who collected my plate, then remarked that the tartlet was gluten free andThey don't make these on site.. I told her I have this meal choice often and it certainly was Not Good at All.No comment was made. Perhaps I should have been informed that the tartlet were gluten free before our order was taken. We left feeling as though we had spent over £30.00. For a meal that really should have been a lot better.Such a shame.. Overview.Fresh surroundings, nice atmosphere. Cosy tables.. toilets need updating asap.plenty of car parking.Disappointing meal choice with lack of information on menu.Will we return?Verdict.... open .

We thought we would try a new place to eat and we weren't disappointed. The feel of the place was so welcoming and comfortable, the staff were very quick to provide us a great experience and they kept checking on us which was a great personal touch. The food was superb and delicious I had the 5oz porterhouse and my girlfriend had the gammon steak and there was nothing to fault at all. You definitely get great food and service for your money and we will be returning.

First time for me at the Rudgleigh and it certainly won't be the last.The starter and steak meal was superbly cooked and was most enjoyable. Lots of different steak meals to choose from.A great find and nice to have a quality local steak grill pub.If you like your steak, I can thoroughly recommend!

Not been able to make it here on a Sunday for a while but needed to come for the Sunday Roast.You can choose a standard size or a bigger plate which I went for as I do love my food!The dinner gives you a choice of 4 meats to choose from. I had a slice of Beef, Turkey and Gammon which were all tasty. There was then a choice of Roast potatoes which were crispy, an amazing cauliflower cheese, Yorkshires, stuffing, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage and more. The gravy was then lovely and thick and I could not wait to sit down to taste it all.Can't leave it so long to visit again and would highly recommend this to anyone. The staff are also so friendly and welcoming. Uphill.

As the title suggests, the lunchtime menu is outstanding value. Yes the choices are limited but the small or large option is great. The food quality is outstanding and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

The location was important for us to meet up with friends and there didn't seem a lot of choice in the area, so booked here online. The website was uninspiring so wasn't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised though. Although it's due to close for a few days in a couple of weeks' time for refurbishment, it actually looked really presentable inside. The service efficient and friendly and the food was actually quite good... We tried a variety of main course dishes and we were all pleased. I'd give the creamy spinach extra a miss though. Food hygiene tasting of 5 (the highest). I think if I were management I'd spend a bit of time on the website because if people aren't drawn in by that they'll never get to see the newly refurbished restaurant. Highly recommended.

Had escaped the crowds of the balloon festival and were heading back to Cornwall and agreed we would stop at the first pub we saw. So glad this was the first one. Walked in and was welcomed by a lovely lady and seated near the bar.my hubby loved cider and tried one he hadn't heard of before and loved it, it was a local one from Somerset. We all ordered porterhouse steaks and they were superb. Had a great chat to the owner and she was fabulous. We all would highly recommend this place if you want a good steak and great service!

We had rossini and wagyu with blue cheese sauce. Steak was perfect. The atmosphere was a little quiet. But i would definitely come here again for the steak

I haven't had steak for some time and the porterhouse was delicious...cooked just as I liked. The staff were very friendly. Good range of food on the children's menu too.

Visited during a busy Sat evening. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Steaks were delicious, definitely the place to go to for good quality and wide selection of steaks. The ribs were served without being coated in sauce and were on the dry side. The bbq sauce is served in a small pot on the side. Great for families and for celebration meals. The venue has various seating areas and a very large car park. Easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.If you are a steak lover this venue is for you.
