Although it was an extremely busy Sunday lunchtime and there was very limited space , the very friendly staff managed to accommodate us , thankfully. We had a wonderful roast dinner with a couple of excellent pints of local ale and cider. Highly recommended this venue and would definitely love to come back. Tremendous.

Our group of six have just returned from a great dinner at The Royle. The food was excellent and the service was warm and not rushed. We really felt looked after by the amazing crew. We will be back!

Thank you all for a great dinner and superb service on Friday evening when I came to the Royle for dinner with a friend. Your staff do a wonderful job, so efficient and friendly. They are a great credit to the Royle. I had the amazing Monkfish dish from the specials board. Wow it was absolutely delicious. The new menu is great with some of my old favourites still there and also with some really appealing new dishes. The main difficulty is choosing as there are so many delicious options. We look forward greatly to our next visit.

Excellent food and exceptional service. We enjoyed our meal so much on the Wednesday evening we booked for the Thursday evening! We were holidaying in the area. We had different choices the second evening, thinking they couldn’t top the previous choices, but they were just as good. Lovely people working there, James was our waiter and went out of his way to make sure we had the best evening and experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back again in the near future.

We visited here with friends for the first time. WOW. The food was exceptional as was the service from Sam and Harley. It was difficult to choose what to have as it all sounded good. The four of us all had the black pudding scotch egg. I personally do not like brown sauce but homemade brown sauce that accompanied the egg was delicious. fantastic. Then two had the lamb off the specials board, one had pork belly and the remaining one had the duck. Not one of us could fault anything. All of us were of the opinion it was probably the best meal we had had in a long time. As an aside love the black napkin touch, so good if you have light clothing on. We did mention this to Sam. Looking forward to our next visit when back visiting friends. I am sure they will be back before us.Thanks for a great evening

Have been going here for a number of years and always been great, but….. today my friend found two pieces of string in her meal! She had an apology from the waitress but that was it! No apology from the chef or any recompense whatsoever. The last time we had a Sunday lunch there(which has always been fab) we both found vegetables undercooked and pretty impossible to eat. Don’t know what’s happened but they need to go back to how it was. Will be a while before we go back, if ever!

Visited tonight, I opted for items from the specials board and it didn’t disappoint 😋 Starter was a confit duck leg terrine with a cheddar croquette Main was lamb shoulder with black pudding with red cabbage and aubergine miso purée Both were incredible and beautifully presented Our favourite place in Bridgnorth 🥰

3rd visit here and a positive and a negative.Fist the negative ..the lamb curry on the specials board was not what most would call a proper curry. It was shaped pulled lamb with a curry- style sauce around it .The lamb itself was tender but the sauce was distinctly chip shop style and not the best quality im afraid. It was passable and we ate it but was disappointed as was expecting something more resembling a proper curry. We are from the curry belt area of Black country so do know a good curry. I know specials are a way of inventing dishes to use up rather than waste food but this invention was not one of your best. On the positive side im happy to report a larger chip count that came with the meal.

Consistently gorgeous food, the Royle is a great place to go for any occasion! There’s always a strong selection of tasty meals with a beautiful specials selection to choose from. The staff are extremely accommodating & there’s a great atmosphere. I would suggest booking to avoid disappointment as the restaurant gets busy!

We visited for lunch.I had the fish and chips which had an anemic batter although the fish was ok but rather salty.I'm restaurant chips always disappoint. My husband had a plain steak baguette which had a sauce over it but he didn't like it It is not good for mobility problems (an old building) However the staff were very pleasant

I had heard good things about the Royle form quite a few locals and was expecting something outside of the normal for the area. The prices and small menu suggest higher quality and more care/attention would be going in to the food. On arrival it’s just a pub, plenty of people inside and out enjoying a drink. The restaurant is upstairs in a reasonably small space, add to this the toilets are upstairs so lots of people passing through and intimate isn’t the theme. It is just a pub as well so quite a few locals all wanting to chat to each other and various disturbances are to be expected. Annoyingly due to the age of the building every time someone walked past the table the table moved as well which wasn’t great. The food itself was okay although the menu online is not the same prices as the one in the restaurant. The wife had lasagne which was nice and a good size portion. I had the sirloin steak, I asked for it Medium Rare and glad I did as it arrived on the well done side of medium. The fat was well rendered though so they had paid attention to that. Sides were okay, a few hand cut chips in a small cup and a mix of quite hard vegetables. For desert I went with the dark chocolate tart which was nice, the Wife’s summer fruits trifle wasn’t as expected and was quite disappointing. A large dollop of cream on top of some green fruit with a small piece of short bread. Ideally they should list what they believe summer fruits to be on the menu as I think she expected a traditional summer fruits selection and trifle filling. Service throughout was good, waitresses attentive enough without bothering. Personally I would probably go elsewhere in town as I don’t think the food justified the prices.

Wedding anniversary celebration. The best meal we have had in a long time. Inspired menu and excellent execution. Loved the sherry aperitif, unusual Italian red wine and monbazillac dessert wine. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Well done The Royle. Prices much cheaper than where we live in Berkshire.

We had a birthday afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being February and miserable weather, we had the place to ourselves but the staff had gone to a lot of effort - decorating the birthday girl's table with birthday confetti. Nice and cosy inside. The food was very good - nice selection of sandwiches - what I would call sensible fillings like cheese and chutney, ham and tomato, tuna mayo, and egg. Our only comment would be to include a few more of the tuna and egg ones as there were quite a few of the ham and tomato which for our group was the least popular flavour. A selection of four different cakes - carrot, victoria sponge, chocolate and a very good syrupy flapjack. Small pieces but we liked that as you could have a bit of everything without feeling like you were going to explode! Very fresh and tasty. Finally cream scones - and yay - proper clotted cream! My son has a lot of allergies so chose a baked potato off the main menu. The staff were very helpful at the booking stage sorting out his meal and he enjoyed it. Am sure it must be lovely in summer time with all the plants and being able to sit outside - will definitely come back again.

We were looking for somewhere a bit special for the night after Valentines Day. I'd recently requested a sample dinner menu from the Royalist menu which looked as though it would suit us nicely. I made an online booking and we therefore had no idea we'd be treated to the most amazing Valentine's tasting menu! The food was absolutely outstanding with exceptional presentation, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were efficient and friendly and we had the most enjoyable evening. We'd thoroughly recommend the experience.
