We went to the Royal William for dinner about a week ago and it was excellent. Whenever we visit Lincoln we go to the William as it’s a great pub with lovely staff and the food is very good. In our opinion it’s the best pub in Lincoln.

First time my friends and I have been to a bottomless at Craft, least to say we were disappointed. We arrived and notified the staff that we were here for bottomless, seated but was not attended to for half an hour and the drinks took a further 20 minutes. In the whole time we were there, we were served 3 drinks each. We came to an end of our bottomless early due to this and notified the staff, which were lovely and apologetic but not worth the price.

Really enjoyed the food here (Sunday lunch menu). Very well presented and cooked. The service was good and very friendly toward the dog that was with us. It was a wet day when we went, which was a pity as we couldn't fully enjoy the attractive location on the Brayford Pool side. The price was maybe a smidgin above that of standard pub grub, but this experience was much better than standard fare and made the meal good value. We would go again and would recommend to others.

I think the pumps may need a clean, only ordered lemonade, but it tasted fusty. The food left a lot to be desired, I mean, it took a long time to come and when it did, the meat was seriously stringy, full of fat and gristle. I understand that you may try and keep the prices down, but at the sacrifice of quality...... maybe it's just since Greene King took over, or the current management, but I used to go in this place when I was in my teens and the standards were definitely a lot better

The Wig and Mitre is hands down the greatest pub in Lincoln, and it’s not hard to see why. Perched at the top of Steep Hill, it’s the perfect place to catch your breath after the climb, offering a welcoming retreat with a fantastic atmosphere. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the incredible manager, Martin. Always ready with a smile and eager to help, Martin ensures that every visit feels personal and memorable. His dedication to making everyone feel at home is what truly makes this pub a standout. Steeped in local history, the Wig and Mitre has a unique charm that you can feel the moment you step inside. The rich heritage of the pub adds to its warmth and character, making it a great spot to soak in some local culture while enjoying a pint. And let’s not forget about the food, simply outstanding! Whether you’re after a comforting meal or a light bite, the menu never disappoints, offering something for everyone. But at the end of the day, it’s the people that make the place. From Martin to the friendly regulars, the welcoming vibe and community spirit are what keep me coming back. If you’re ever in Lincoln, the Wig and Mitre is a must-visit, where history, great food, and exceptional people come together.
