Fabulous Sunday lunch. Hidden gem in Coventry. Food and service were very good. Tasted like home cooked. Nice friendly staff

Met a friend here for a catch up and bite to eat and had a perfect evening. We both had a meal which was delicious. Staff were very attentive and friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Will definitely be returning!

Me & my girlfriend visited for Sunday lunch today 28th September & couldn’t fault a thing…. Starters & roast dinner were absolutely delicious, service friendly n relaxed!!! I’d say probably the best roast dinner I’ve ever had I a pub, we will definitely return & would definitely recommend 👍🏻 😋

We hired the private function room for a birthday! It was absolutely fantastic! We had a private bar and the manager Grace was so accommodating and able to meet our every need. Highly recommend!

We had heard about the Royal Oak and how lovely Sunday lunches are so decided to go and try it out. Choice of four dinners, we went for lamb shanks ... Absolutely delicious! And cherry crumble for desert. Great value, 2 of us ate, 2 courses, with drinks, for just under £50. Food and service excellent. We'll be returning, thank you!

just had the nicest 3 course sunday dinner. it was amazing from start to finish, mushrooms to start, lovely glazed gammon for main and a hot chocolate fudge cake for dessert. no faults at all, everything was spot on. walk ins accepted but booking definately recommended.

Was there for the first time on friday, service by the male bartender was great all day, upon changing in the evening a girl barmaid took over with black hair, she was never at the bar, I seen her sitting down talking to her friends and kissing a bloke several times by the bar door whilst I was stood at the bar waiting to order a drink, it took someone to go and find her in order to get a drink, and when ordered took alot longer than what it did during the day shift with the barman. Poor service and didn't feel like she cared.

Decided to go for the small fish & chips. Absolutely amazing some of the fish I have eaten. Tender fish and fantastically crispy batter. Excellent attentive staff. Highly recommend.

It is always welcoming and friendly. The staff are very helpful and always have a smile. Food was excellent something for all tastes. I always like to call in when I get the chance to get to Coventry.

Decor of pub/ restaurant is done out to a very high standard and very warm feel and inviting. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food is delicious and freshly cooked to order. We had breaded mushroom starters. Mains were 10oz rump steak with chips and mushroom Wellington with chips and lemon meringue pie and cream for dessert. All in with two bottles of coke each it only came to just over £56. We think that's good value. In the week they do some great offers. Just check there website. Wether you have 1, 2 or 3 courses the choice is yours. We will be back soon.

We went into this little gem of a pub which was extremely clean and tidy with lovely decor with special little touches. Our food was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection exactly how we wanted. My partner had a mixed grill, I had a burger and we had a side of onion rings. We had afters of sticky toffee pudding and bits off cheesecake, you could tell the food was home made which made it even better. The staff were extremely friendly and the lady Vicky who served us is an asset to this establishment, as is the chef The food prices were exceptional too and well worth the money we paid. We could also see they do special offers in the week on their food menus. We would highly recommend a visit here and would return next time we are in the area.

We’ve been here a few times now for food. We have had a few special birthdays here too. All good is lovely and the Sunday dinner is amazing, it’s our favourite place for Sunday roast. All of the staff are super friendly, service is quick and reasonably priced. You need to book as it’s always full

We visited today and we’re not disappointed! We took my partners mum out for dinner and she was so impressed she already wants to come back. We had prawns for starter which was delicious and we all had a Sunday roast which was perfect.There was lots on the plate, roasts and mash and of course the meat and a good sized Yorkie. The veg came separately and there was plenty for us all. We had cheesy leeks as an extra which are my favourite and extra gravy. We couldn’t fault our dinner at all. It was spot on. Well worth the money and so much more lovely when it’s cooked for you. I will recommend this pub always x

We held my late mothers wake at the Royce Oak today and they done us proud, the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful…. Thank you all.

Our first visit for a meal and we weren’t disappointed on a Saturday evening. The staff were very friendly and welcoming with a special mention to Kristen. She couldn’t do enough for us! We both had steak and ale pie, one with chips and one new potatoes. The meat was very tender and cooked in very tasty gravy. The chips were made of real potatoes and the new potatoes were plentiful and buttery. We will return.

This was our second visit for Sunday Lunch and both times the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming and we all felt at home and not rushed. This was like home cooked Sunday lunch with big portions and loads of gravy,

Arrived hoping for a lovely Sunday roast to be told that they weren’t serving food. No mention of this on the pub’s Facebook . Landlord then told a member of our party that he should try harder as he was wearing shorts, something he clearly thought was offensive. We often eat at the pub on a Sunday after sporting events in the nearby pool and shorts have never been an issue. We will not be eating there again.

I visited at Christmas last year and had the lamb which was exceptional! I decided to go for it again hoping for the same quality which is was! Super quick service everytime with piping hot food and lamb which is just melt in your mouth. The picture doesn’t do justice for me but this is the best Sunday lunch I’ve had in years. The staff and regulars are brilliant and really welcome anyone and everyone with open arms.

Visited this pub for a meal with family and we were not disappointed. It is warm and welcoming and the staff are friendly and efficient. It is located just outside of the town centre andwell worth the trip, The food is freshly cooked and there is a good selection of dishes to choose from. We chose a range of dishes and all were delicious and were great value for money; Will definitely be visiting again.

Came here 2 weeks running the food is absolutely amazing had the steak this evening knife cuts through it like butter ... delicious very impressed even had room for dessert and again phenomenal definitely recommend the carrot cake , have just booked a large family meal for Sunday can't wait to return , massive compliments to the Manager and his staff a cracking establishment

I took some Friends to this very clean and welcoming Pub just outside the Coventry Town Centre, for a meal to help cheer them up after a difficult week. The choice of Menu and the Specials were excellent and were worth way more than the cost of the meals. The choice of Beverages, Beare, Wines etc, were excellent as were the costs of the drinks. The food can only be described as Superb, very well presented and served by very friendly and attentive staff. This venue is most certainly one of Coventry's hidden Gems. It is well worth a visit and you will not be disappointed with the venue or its food. Excellent.

Service can be shocking, beer is always good, prices high.. However as a local pub it is friendly, safe, landlord keeps idiots away and overall a nice experience Would recommend

I held my Mum's wake in this pub yesterday for over 40 people , and the food and service was fantastic . Freshly cooked and a huge variety of hot and cold food . Everyone said how wonderful the buffet was and praised the staff and the ambience of the pub itself. It may not look hugely inviting from the outside but inside is totally different , it is freshly decorated , super comfy , and very welcoming . Many of the guests said they had never been before but will definitely be going again as they were so impressed. I would like to say a huge thank you to Mick , Larina and Louise for all of your hard work and for making what was a sad occasion into a lovely memorable one .

Booked this pub/restaurant for 22 people. Varied menu. They catered for the Vegetarians and Vegans in the party. Food was excellent, as was the service. Would definitely recommend. Will be eating here again.

Visited here on valentine night . The food was excellent I had steak which was perfect, real chunky chips and fresh mushrooms. Partner had sausage and mash beautiful with real gravy. Service was excellent with friendly staff. We will definitely be back x

Finalmente encontramos este pub abierto para comidas al haber fracasado dos veces antes. . Valió la pena la espera, ya que mi esposa y yo tuvimos filetes que eran muy agradable. Vienen con patatas fritas gruesas, champiñones, aros de cebolla y tomates pequeños.

Enjoyed a great three course Sunday lunch dinner with the family every course was lovely and the service was second to none, we will certainly be returning again.

La zona de salón/restaurante es fresco, moderno y cómodo. El menú es variado, hay algo para todo el mundo y hay una selección. Todo a un precio muy razonable. Elegimos aquí porque habíamos oído que la comida estaba cocinada con productos frescos, era sabroso y casero y no nos decepcionó. La camarera era amable y eficiente. Todos elegimos un plato diferente que van desde una fantástica comida vegetariana, salchichas y puré de higo, gambas, carne de Hamburguesa vegetariana y una hamburguesa con patatas fritas, vinieron las rústicas perfectamente cocinado y una ensalada maravillosa vestido lateral o de col. Todos disfrutamos de sus comidas. Había 2 de nosotros que elegimos las opciones vegetarianas y bastante a menudo la elección es muy aburrido o limitado, pero aquí la hamburguesa vegetal estaba hecha con verduras frescas y la tarta de queso brie y vegetariana cranberries era magnífico. . En general, tuvimos una comida muy agradable en un ambiente relajado, sin duda volveremos en el futuro. Altamente recomendado.

I have driven past this pub on many occasions and often wondered what it is like. Some friends from Whitley recommended it so today four of us gave it a try for Sunday lunch.

El lugar parecía estar dirigido por aficionados y jóvenes con idea de lo que significa un servicio. La comida, por otro lado, era genial, así que sugiero que el chef encuentra un lugar donde el personal de recepción están haciendo justicia a su cocina.

Paré aquí para cenar el viernes por la noche en el camino a casa como una alternativa a la M6 áreas de servicio. Nos alegramos de haberlo hecho! casera era acogedor y amable, y la comida y la cerveza fueron estupendos. La decoración era muy elegante. Sin duda volveremos :)

Fuimos a el Royal Oak para una comida y no me decepcionó, el servicio es de primera clase y la comida era excepcional, tiene un gran ambiente y disfrutamos de una gran tarde, lo recomiendo encarecidamente y volveremos muy pronto.

Been in this pub a few times when working in the area and always made welcome. Usually quite busy most nights but can always find a table. Good selection of beers and I did try their famous pork pie which is very tasty. Well worth a visit for the good and well kept selection of real ales.

Definitely the best Sunday roast dinner I've had at any pub.The service was excellent and friendly too.

I booked a family celebration for 12 people; from the first phone call the staff were so helpful and obliging. We had 2 courses, we were all served at the same time, all the meals were piping hot and delicious. The waitress kept us informed when there was a slight wait, we didn't even notice! The surroundings wee comfortable and relaxed, the bar was well stocked and the regulars made us feel very welcome. A lovely evening, we will be going back. The meals were presented beautifully. I popped into this quaint public house to give the Rolls Royce a breather before heading back south. I purchased a rather nice pint of bitter and sat down to enjoy it. The pub was lovely and clean, seats were comfortable and the manager was constantly moving chairs in an orderly fashion. I didnt eat on this occasion but the various dishes looked very nice and will not hesitate to come again.

Friendly atmosphere. Always welcomed by locals. Cheap beer. Young friendly owners. Would recommend with friends and family. Free bouncy castle in back.

Went to this restaurant last night as two couples for the Valentines menu - WOW. What a surprise! The décor is typical pub restaurant - however the food is not typical pub restaurant food. Probably one of the nicest meals I have eaten out. Food was delicious - obviously a top chef is hiding out the back. Will definitely return to eat here.

Our car was unfortunate to break down on the London Rd on a very cold wet and rainy night. Whilst waiting for the breakdown people we went into this pub for some warmth. The landlord made us very welcome, made my wife some coffee and the children had some soft drinks.The next thing the landlord had the fire blasting away and made a table for us to defrost by the fire.As the breakdown people were going to be a while we had some bar snacks and they were lovely. The children polished off their food like I had never seen and our food was piping hot and there was more than enough for us!When it came for us to go the bar bill didnt include the drinks and the bar maid said they were on the house and wished us a safe journey home. This is good old fashioned service and something rare these days. I will have to drop in again as the fish and chips looked delicious.
